Go ahead and register with whatever name you want. That makes no difference. Once you have registered, place change your display name to your character's First Middle and Last name in PROPER capitalization.

Treat other members and staff respectfully, kindly, and all that jazz. If you have a problem with another member, please contact a staff member and we will help resolve the problem. Do not get discouraged if you application is not immediately accepted or if we ask you to change things. We have things as close to the world of Harry Potter as possible.

Please do not advertise in the cbox. Please do not speak badly of other sites, members, etc. It will not be tolerated. A member that does such will suffer consequences of either a warning or banning.

No character can be all powerful. Keep your characters in check with their age/year in Hogwarts. First years should not be performing Unforgiveables. Everyone has some flaws. Mary-Sue's and Gary-Stus = no. You may have multiple characters. Please make a separate account for each. If you are going to have more than 2 characters, one must be a male. If you can't or just don't play males, you'll need ADMIN APPROVAL before making another female character. Also, make sure you vary the ages/house/years/etc. of your characters. We don't need a million gryffindor fifth year girls...or something. It doesn't hurt to try something different! Also, take a look at the canons list/want ads. There are plenty of character possibilities to choose from. If you are interesting in having a character that has special abilities/other beings please check out this thread.

Posts have a 200 word count minimum. Even newbies can post a good paragraph. Please use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Spell check is in the regular reply or, copy & paste into word, as word can help correct grammatical erros. Be patient with other role players. We can't all be glued to our computers 24/7. Well, at least those who have lives. If you have a canon please, please, please, please remain active. NO pregnancies or marriages without ADMIN approval. We don't want any Hogwarts students pregnancies. Engagements do not need staff approval, as those can be broken. Going away for a few days? Lost muse? Please post in the notice area and let us know in case a random activity check pops up...and they will. This board is rated PG-13, following the rules set up by proboards. A few minor swears here and there are permissible but, don't go dropping f-bombs all over or you'll be warned about it. Characters cannot kill other characters unless consented by the other party AND admin approval. You can duel each other, beat each other to a pulp if you want just, don't die. First years shouldn't be dueling with seventh years or adults, or at all because they do not know how. Keep your character's level of magic in check with their age. When you character shoots a spell at another, you cannot say "it hit them square in the face" or something like that. Why? That's godmodding and that's frowned upon. This is something that can be sorted out between the two duelers. As for romance wise, subtle snogging sessions are fine. No steamy sex scenes, as proboards doesn't allow that and we have to follow their rules, as previously mentioned. (also, we don't want druggies running around)

Please use real humans for your playbys. No anime cartoons. Use celebrities, models, etc. Not your best friend who lives down the street or something, or anyone that is myspace/facebook famous - whatever those kids are called, as many of them do not want to be used. Please have at least a 100 x100 icon but, nothing bigger than 200x200. Signatures can be up to 500x300. DO NOT STRETCH the pages with your graphics. DO NOT include animated icons or signatures as it can slow down loading times and some consider them to be distracting/annoying.
