Hannah had always loved carnivals. The rides, the food, the smell... she even loved the fact that she usually froze her butt off when she attended one. It was normally her own fault, anyway - Hannah had never been one for wearing trousers when a dress or skirt was to be had. Today being no exception, the blonde was wearing a green velvet dress, bright blue coat and her trusty biker boots. Maggie had rolled her eyes at it, but the older girl was quite happy with her fashion choices thank you very much. Besides, Maggie had always been pretty boring with her clothes - today she was just wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a sensible jacket. That might keep you warm, but it wouldn't get you noticed. Shivering slightly, Hannah walked towards the nearest food van. A nice hot cone of chips sounded really good right about now. Or perhaps a pumpkin pasty... certainly not a chocolate frog, those things were creepy as hell... Hannah was so engrossed in her delicious daydreams that she didn't even notice her baby sister Lexi crossing the fairground towards her until they were right in front of each other. "Lexi! Darling, I didn't even recognise you with your hair that awful colour... I mean, well, of course you make it look good. You are my sister after all, we've been blessed with excellent genes." Hannah flung her arms around her little sister, nearly squeezing the life out of the little brunette. "Lex, have you been eating properly? I swear I can feel your ribcage. Come on love, let's get you something nice to nibble on. Pumpkin Pasty sound good?" With that, the eldest Dumeass girl seized Lexi's hand and dragged her towards the food van. ooc: sorry it's a bit... blaahhhhh

Lexi Kenndal Dumeass was dull. Dull, and she liked it that way. As a middle child, she was perfectly fine with with standing on the side lines to let her siblings handle the more social aspect of life. Although she was shy only at first, Lexi never did seem to leave behind that trace of awkwardness she radiated. Of course, like any other teenage girl, Lexi had friends, but most of them were guys because Lexi just couldn't stand the God awful nature of gossip and backstabbing that they so easily adopted. No, Lexi would rather be with her all time best friend-and now boyfriend Ryan Wake or Alex Maxwell. Both knew her fairly well, better than most. As you can plainly see, Lexi was a fragile, complicated girl with a past that just wouldn't go away.
But you see, Lexi was trying to repair herself. After three months of being with her alcoholic father and squib teenager of a younger sister, Lexi had nearly gone stir crazy, if she hadn't. The calmness of the world was charming, but terrifying. At seventeen, Lexi prided herself in being head of Dumbldore's Army and was going to join the Order as soon as possible. The whole wizarding world was tipping over the brink of war and Lexi was just supposed to sit and wait? No. Soon after being there, the anxiety of a hard year finally got to her. Sleeping went first, she began having haunting nightmares. Not long after her appetite went too. In a few weeks she had deep purple bruises under her eyes and her ribs were painfully visible. She dyed the bright blonde hair that had plagued her since birth the color of dirt, in hopes to make herself disappear. Now, that hadn't really worked out because the strangled yellow was starting to come out of the roots and tips of her now mud colored hair. Soon she would just have to wash it out. Things had gotten better, but only a little.
Through all of this though, Lexi's sisters were still her one and only vice. She loved them to death, but sometimes they terrified her. Her older sister Hannah was the one Lexi depended upon though. After graduating Hannah had gotten herself an internship and Lex couldn't have been any prouder. That was why when Hannah invited her to the carnival, she went without hesitation. Hannah was a hard girl to miss, striking features but covered in er... interesting clothing choices. But whatever. Lexi was dull and proud, let Hannah have her fun. Crossing the noisy fairgrounds quickly, Lexi kept her eyes on Hannah who didn't seem to notice she was there until right up at the last moment. . "Lexi! Darling, I didn't even recognise you with your hair that awful colour... I mean, well, of course you make it look good. You are my sister after all, we've been blessed with excellent genes." Lexi couldn't help but grin, the first genuine one in weeks. Yes, the hair was horrid and she hated it. When Hannah embraced and nearly suffocated Lexi, she just grinned and laughed, happy to be with her older sister again. "Lex, have you been eating properly? I swear I can feel your ribcage. Come on love, let's get you something nice to nibble on. Pumpkin Pasty sound good?" That was no surprise, either. Of course i have Hannah, i'm not anorexic, for God's sake. i suppose so, not that you haven't already made up your mind to drag me over there anyweays. As expected, Hannah began dragging Lexi to the nearest food van, and she went quietly along. Just like always.
