Just sit back and hold on, but hold on tight
A gust of chilling wind blasted through the Great Hall, causing a shiver to go down Aria's spine. The hall was booming with laughter and conversation, various people were shouting and causing a ruckus as they always did each morning. Aria sat beside a couple of her Gryffindor housemates, trying to mind her own business and eat her food. She quietly lifted her head every once in a while to scan the room, looking for her best friend Kiera. Kiera was a Hufflepuff, which to her dismay, meant that she was to sit with all the Hufflepuff's. Aria loved her house, and mostly everyone in it. They were just like her, loud, courageous, and well terrible. However, Aria and Kiera had just clicked despite major differences in their personalities. This was the same for Rhys, whom Kiera had a strong dislike to, and everyone else that she befriended outside of her immediate friend group. After a small while of searching, Aria focused her attention back to her table. Many fellow Gryffindor's looked at her rather bewildered at why she wasn't "with" them this morning. Most thought she just had her head in the clouds and others complained that this behavior meant she was going to bitch and whine all day. Both predictions were accurate, but also very off. Aria picked at her food, which was rather abnormal considering she ate everything in her path, and didn't touch her drink. She looked nauseous, which she had expected due to last night. Last night was a huge part of her seemingly "grumpy" attitude, it wasn't one of her best and she has some epiphanies, followed along with an argument with her parents. She tossed those thoughts aside, she was drunk and stupid last night, completely out of her mind.
The clamor of voices that surrounded her pounded thoroughly through her skull and into her brain. Causing what seemed to her like large 'thwacks' to the head. Aria's hangover wasn't major though, it was one of the ones that hurt lesser. She didn't get blind drunk last night either, which would also explain why she wasn't quite ready to throw herself off of a bridge like she normally would have felt like doing. Most would assume that by her acting like this she was heading down the wrong path. However, Aria knew what she could handle and how to keep it in moderation. She hadn't fought with her parents and then drank, she had done the opposite. Slowly but surely the throbbing in her head faded away, and her appetite grew three times its previous size. She blinked a couple of times before realizing that almost everyone had almost finished eating. Normally this wouldn't have bothered Aria, but she was already acting strange enough. She figured that she would just sneak into the kitchen and gorge on something. Nothing got in between her and food, same with Kiera. It was something the both of them shared in common, and many found it to be a rather peculiar trait about the both of them.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *---The truth is, it’s all a big lie, I find that the words are hard to describe;;
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kiera Hannah Hayze was pretty much your stereotypical Hufflepuff. Bubbly but bright, loyal and loud. Life was good for the blonde, and it always had been. Maybe it was because she was so easygoing, or maybe it was because trouble just avoided her, but Kiera simply went with the flow and everything turned out alright in the end. Swimming was what she lived and breathed for it; it was her obsession and her passion. But sadly for Miss Hayze, she lived in London, where it was cold and damp most of the year. The glorious three months of sun and approachable surf were spent at the beach. But those were over, and she was now back in school. Hogwarts was cooling off in the autumn and she was still not quite ready to let go of the ever dimming embers of warm summer. Although Hogwarts was welcoming, there was plenty of food and her favorite person in the world- Aria Chandler. Aria and Kiera were the best kind of best friends. They ate more than Shamu and got into wand fights over crayons. That’s just how they were, and had been since their first meeting and probably before that. The two had met on the Hogwarts express in their first year and had instantly clicked. They shared a morbid, twisted, dark sense of humor and a love of food. There was never a doubt that they were meant to be best friends, no, none at all. Even when Aria got frustrated with Kiera’s sunny disposition and fear of confrontation, even when Aria had to stand up for Kiera because she was too scared to do it for herself, there never was a doubt that Kiera loved Aria with ever particle of her being. You see, Miss Hayze had a muggle family; her parents had divorced and remarried and her younger sibling was nearing her teen years. Needless to say, Kiera was glad to be gone most of the time. Don’t get her wrong, she would always say, she loved her family wholeheartedly, but they were so… Exhausting mentally for Kiera, and even though she had nothing against her stepfather, she found him annoying. Besides, who in their right mind would want to stay in the United States of America when London buzzed with magic, teeming with adventure and promise for the young woman, just an ocean away. Without sounding stupid, the world of magic enchanted Kiera. Ever since she received her letter, she had always loved the idea she could control things others couldn’t. Once she told that to her mother and way called selfish. Not that it bothered the bright eleven year old. At that time, she was entirely too consumed with her new wand and jumping on the bed of the cramped motel her family stayed at to take her to Kings Cross Station to realize that eventually she would grow up and be forced to choose what world she wanted to live in, once and for all. Not that anything could compete with the place she liked to call home. Not even all of California’s beaches, or her whole family. The world of magic was where she belonged, and as long as there was food at Hogwarts, she would remain in the U.K. That particular day, Kiera only had one class in the afternoon, so she got to sleep in. Of course, noisy roommates woke her up quickly, and after a quick glaring session, Kiera hopped out of bed. Most days she liked to get to breakfast first, make sure she got whatever she wanted before everybody else. But today, most of the people had already gone off to class, and very few teachers stayed. The ones that did weren’t paying any mind anyways. Now, the yellow tie she wore so proudly, stating that she was a Hufflepuff wouldn’t go away so easily, but this morning, Kiera didn’t even try to hide it. Her robes displayed the yellow, but as Kiera skipped into the Great Hall, quickly spotting Ria, Kiera didn’t skip to join her few remaining Hufflepuff friends. No, she skipped over to the Gryffindor table to sit beside her best friend. Ria looked slightly ill, but maybe she was just irritated. Well, regardless, Kiera plunked down beside her and immediately started shoveling food onto her plate. “ Good morning, Aria, dearest. How’re you? You look rather… pissed off.” Kiera’s voice was cheerful but quiet, and she noticed Aria hadn’t touched most of her food. With a shrug, she disregarded this and lifted her fork to her mouth. ‘ Omanomanom’ Kiera thought, her day already looking bright.
