Magyn trucked it up the stairs to the owlery, almost slipping on one step as her ugg boots didn't have the best traction; especially when there was slippery ice everywhere. Her cotton sweater dress clung softly to her curves under her pea coat as her bare legs were prickled with goosebumps from the chill wind coming in from the east. Her mind was not on her cold legs however, all of her thoughts were focused on the letter in her pocket. She had not had any contact with her parents in a long time, however she knew it was time to break the silence; she was not even particularly sure they were still alive; but she had a 90% feeling that they were. Now she just hoped her owl would be able to find them, now their location however; was a complete mystery.
She hit the top stair and exhaled large breath she had not realized she was holding. She reached in her pocket, her long thin fingers grazed the envelope wrapping the first contact she would have with her parents in years. She was slightly nervous, she was not exactly sure how they would respond. She had no reason for discontinuing contact with her parents; she just did. It was going to be hard to explain that to them. Part of her hoped that they would return to doting on her and not care why she disappeared - but the other part of her knew that they would feel betrayed and might not want any part of her.
She closed her finger tips around the envelope and pulled it out, flipped it over and double checked the names on it one more time.. She looked up and found her owl, Lilith; in hebrew it translated into 'of the night'. She called for her and she cam right down, rested on Magyns free hand, and showed affection by nestling up against Magyns cheek. Magyn returned the gesture smiling. She had owned many birds over the years but so far she liked this one the best. She gave the letter to the bird and whispered 'good luck' and Lilith was off. Magyn looked up and watched her fly away.

William had noticed something. He hadn't been to the owlery since he attended Hogwarts school, all those years ago. He was more than just egar to see what had become of it, the changes made to it, if any. He definately hoped that things had been cleaned up, even slightly. There were broken cages scattered about, owl feathers, food and what happened to the food once it had been digested. William could have sworn he'd seen an owl's skeleton there aswell. Obviously not many teachers ventured to the owlery. William was also interested to know who'd replaced the small shelf for his owl, Gabriel. He did miss his pet owl, the only real pet he'd ever had. Sadly him and Gabriel parted ways when William graduated Hogwarts, obviously the feelings that William had for his owl wasn't mutual. And so, after breakfast in the Great Hall, William made it his goal to journey to the owlery, and he must've been determined, because not even the beastly weather phased him. He would have requests for private lessons every day, though William was certian that, because the students were mostly young girls, they weren't interested in learning anything decent.
He'd cancelled every meeting, lesson and appointment with everyone for the morning. Perhaps maybe his eagerness was too eager? Well William was simply a determined and devoted man. Nothing was going to distract him today. He wrapped up in his long black trenchcoat and had two scarves on, but one of which was merely decoration for his work suit. He was dressed very formal for the occasion, but he always was. He was ready, and so he went. The wind was blistering on the exposed skin on his face, and he could feel his eyes leaking in tears, to which he quickly wiped away. His tears could have frozen in this temperature. It was a sigh of upmost relief when he opened the old wooden door and entered the tower-like owlery. It was exactly as he remembered it. That same neglected peice of ribbon was still there, though the bright pink color had faded to a sickly peachy. The feathers were everywhere, and there was that weak odour of pet food. William never really liked it, and he should know, he was bokners enough to try the stuff. He sighed as he saw his shelf, and he saw in Gabriel's place was a dusty ginger owl, that stared at him. Almost begging for some sort of forgiveness. But William merely passed the owl, and climbed the stone spiral steps to look out the window, and admire the magnificent view of a wintery Hogwarts.
He'd stood and stared out the slit in the wall for ages, and was broken out of his dazed dream by the door creaking open again. He gasped and turned around, backing to the wall like a guilty child caught doing something he shouldn't. He watched as he saw Professor Parker entering in nothing but a cotton dress and a tiny jacket. She gave her owl her letter and sent it on its way. William watched the owl ascending into the clouds and disappearing. It was silent until his foot slipped on an icy step and he tumbled onto the landing below, his head dangling over as he lay in a heap at the bottom of the stairs. "Oh!" He said with a foolish grin, bringing himself to his feet and turning around to Magyn Parker, red in the face and covered in feathers. Smooth. He said to himself, biting hard on his bottom lipm searching for something smart and civilized to say to this beautiful young woman. He opened his mouth bot no words were heard. He closed his mouth and tried again, this time, barely managing. "Quite slippery these steps aren't they?" He mused, glancing back to where he'd fallen and chuckling like a giddy, tispy old man. This was such a way to meet somebody new. What a first impression. [/font]

Magyn was still watching Lillith fly off into the distance as she heard a commotion behind her and turned around to see a man on the ground. She cracked a small smile as she pulled her coat a little tighter around herself. She craned her neck a bit and took a step or two closer to get a better look, but she still did not fully recognize the man on the ground in front of her. She watched him intently trying to place his face, he opened his mouth once and nothing came out then tried again and succeeded, "Yes they can be" she replied walking forward and thinking that this man was quite attractive the more she looked at him. She knew she had seen him before in various places but she couldn't quite remember if she had ever actually met him, and if she had she couldn't for the life of her remember his name.
She walked over closer to him and crouched down and offered her hand to help him up. She however immediately noticed the artery pulsing in his neck. She shot up, looked away and took a deep breath. She hadn't fed on a human since she started working at Hogwarts, she had done nothing but live on small animals from the forbidden forest; and to be honest she was getting sick and tired of it. She felt weak all the time and not at her full potential; but if she wanted to keep her job, she had to behave. She closed her eyes, took deep breaths and thought of museums. She had been to a lot of museums in her lifetime and she quite enjoyed them very much. She had also discovered that art was the one thing that calmed her and subdued her cravings. When all was well she opened her eyes again.
This time however she did not look at the man she just once again offered her hand to him to help him up. "One has to be careful when walking where ice is involved," she paused, "I'm Magyn Parker" she offered hoping to find his name out in return. [sorry it's not very long]
