Settled on a stool behind the counter, Macey sighed as she looked around at the very empty store. They had been very slow all day and all the dishes were done, the floors were washed, and there was nothing to do but balance a spoon on her nose, which is what she was doing at that moment. She rubbed it on her nose a few times and let go as it stayed on her nose and she smiled, going cross-eyed to look at it. She chuckled and then heard her manager call her. She knew that 'adam Puddifoot liked her qwirks, so she left the spoon on her nose as she jumped down from the stool and walked to the back room, leaning against the door. 'Aadam looked up and laughed lightly, shaking her head. She asked her how things were out front and all Macey had to do was look at the spoon on her nose. Puddifoot laughed and then told her to go mind the register. Macey nodded and headed back out.
Sitting back on the stool, she put the spoon from her nose on the counter and spun it as she waited for someone to come in. She thought about her father all alone in that small rental house by the water and hoped that he took her advice and started dating again. He deserved another lady that loved him for who he was, not what he was. Macey had seen the pictures from her dad's hay day and yeah, he was attractive and a bit of a jock, but the gal he married asked him and hurried into the marraige.
A customer got up from their table and waved their good bye. Macey wished them a good day and then grabbed the wiping rag and weaved her way to the table by the window. She swept up the crumbs and put them on the plate where their scone had been, stacked the mug half full of tea, and then wiped down the table. She walked back to the register, asking each person if she could get them anything. None of them needed her help at the moment so she put the dishes in the sink and returned to her stool at the register.

One giant mess, three short words to describe Rhys's life. Not that he could complain, because it was his fault it was like this. His own damn fault, always his fault. Just because he couldn't complain, didn't mean he followed this rule. Whenever he was alone, he always critisizing his own life. Yes, he was pissing himself off, and that shouldn't be something you will hear every day. And as the days passed, he did spend more time in his dorm, his music on very loud, listening to bands such as NeverShoutNever, Paramore and Fall Out Boy. He didn't understand why. He didn't understand himself any more. But the more he thought about it, the more he realised – who did these days? Certainly not anyone he knew.
What had happened to make his life one giant mess I hear you ask. It all started with Rhys's father. That dick who moulded Rhys to what he was in these days … or at least what he used to be. A man-whore. Untrustworthy. Exactley that. Someone who shouldn't have under any circumstances got the benefit of the doubt. So who should he happen to remind his ever loving mother of? Exactly like his father. He hated himself and his anger spasms, just like his father. Anger filled to the center, his father leaving him and his mother for a couple of whores only fuelling it. Yet Rhys was like that. He went out with numerous girls, perhaps even at the same time as one another. Yes, now reflecting on it with the gorgeous girlfriend he wanted, he felt a little regretful, but he didn't make the effort to apologise to them. They never did fill his needs anyway. Too girly. Of course he didn't want a tomboy girlfriend, but girls that squealed whenever someone mentioned pink was too much for Rhys, and instantly they went into the dumpee bucket.
Aside from the fact he had major anger issues which he could usually control (sometimes it got the best of him though) he had once upon a time had a girl he considered himself to be in love with, Alex Zabini. Now, note that Rhys was in love with her. Maybe only slightly, but in love with her nonetheless. He didn't dump her, and she didn't dump him. No, he left. Just walked out of Hogwarts and the minute he had the bloody lockdown had started and he wasn't permitted to enter the premisis. So, although he hadn't seen Alex upon his return, he was sure someone as brilliant and, let's face it, as hot as her had obviously found someone new to move onto.
So he'd been pretty beat up about it before he'd found Lexi again. She'd always been a pain in his ass, but ever since having the talk with Kristin who he always called 'Krissy', he hadn't viewed her in the same manner. He liked her, that much he knew. And now, he went out with her. Only a matter of time, he supposed. God* did get everything and everyone he wanted, after all.
He couldn't see his girlfriend that day, however, because she was out with someone who's name he'dforgotten. having nothing else to do, he put Misery Business, Paramore on his i-Pod and headed out to Hogsmeade. Now he knew he couldn't go to The Three Broomsticks, for one it was too early and for two the last time he had got drunk he'd told Lexi he loved her, and that sparked conflict between the two.
The only other store he could think of was Madam Puddifoot's, so he entered the store to see one or two customers at tables, and a girl sitting behind the bar. He reconised her slightly, she was in his year. Shrugging, he took an earphone out and sat opposite her. Waiting for her to look up, he said, "Hot chocolate. With Milk." And waited.

Macey had seen slower days, but still. She was beginning to get bored. Looking around, she pulled the spoon off her nose and looked at the shaker on the counter that they used for iced tea. She smiled lightly and walked over, picking it up, tossing it over her shoulder, spinning it around her side and then pouring water in it and then set it on the counter to add tea and sweetener. She grinned: who said she could not be an actual bar tender once she hit the right age. Popping the top on with a nice click, she shook it up and poured it into a glass with some orange flavoring. Rinsing the shaker in the sink, she heard the door open. She popped a straw into her tea and set it beside the register.
She smiled at him and waited to hear what he had to say. He asked for a hot chocolate with milk. She smiled and typed in the order. "What size would you like? And would you like the whipped cream...?" she walked over to the machine that made the milk and started to steam some up with a steaming wand. She set it down once the screeching was done and walked back over to the register and waited to hear what he said, still smiling at him and waiting.
OOC: It's fine! Haha! I liked it. Sorry it took so long to get back to you! Macey went poof in my head for a little while. =)
