In the darkness of the forest hid his figure, lurking and searching for answers once again. Declan knew that not far beyond those trees his sister would be waiting, with her luxurious stare and intense features. He hoped she would properly respond to his letter by meeting him on the edge of the forbidden forest. They hadn’t seen each other in almost fifty years, since he dropped out of Hogwarts. He imagined the class of children she taught must have been amazed to learn their teacher was a vampire. At least they had been back when she attended as a student. That was partially the reason Declan himself had left. In the middle of his sixth year, the shocked and frightened stares of his peers became too much of a nuisance to endure, so he kissed his sister goodbye never to be seen again. Until now…
With weary eyes he glanced up at the sky, searching for the first star he could find. Its heavy glow shone down between the branches. Declan smiled and the corners of his lips turned up. Just through the tangle of pine trees, he saw the outline of an ancient castle. Hogwarts greeted him as it had always done so, with cruel, haunting features. He eyed the hard outline of brick, and the lights, in each of the windows. It appeared the students were still awake in their dorms. He hoped Magyn wouldn’t be too occupied to come and see him. She must have received his letter. Although she did not respond, he had specifically asked her to meet him in the forest at this time, on this day, under the light of a crescent moon.
