Dylan was stubborn. If he decided not to tell her about the one time he cheated, he wouldn’t change his mind. Yet, he barely remembered what happened, he was that drunk. All he knew was that he sat in the pub drinking and then talking with his old female friend he remembered as one of his previous affairs. And then he knew they most likely kissed. But did they go all the way? Well, Dylan had to ask himself that too. He woke up in the hotel room lying in bed all naked. All he found after leaving the bed was a small note saying ‘Thank you for wonderful night. Love, Cass <3’. But of course he wiped it from his mind.
Spencer needed a nice shot in the head. The world would be better without him. There wouldn’t be so many deaths looking like accidents or heart attacks. His niece would be all happy that he’s gone. Selena wouldn’t have to be worried of where he is because he would be six feet under ground. She would have no reason to think that he cheats on her. She could find someone else, someone better and make him her husband and father of Charlie. Anyone would be better… But he lived. He knew he was needed and that his time hasn’t come yet.
With his eyes narrowed and slight frown on his handsome yet tired face Dylan listened to Selena’s words. Maybe it was weird as for people who barely knew him and got very bad first impression about him but Dylan Spencer, despite that he was much into dark magic, death eaters and killing, always listened what others had to say. He rarely disturbed anyone speaking. He liked to know opinions of others even if he didn’t care what they thought. And sometimes the more harsh words you tell the more trouble you will get yourself into. And the punishment could be bigger. Though, he wasn’t going to hurt Selena, well, at least not physically. He watched her walking into the bathroom and stared at the door. She said something about leaving but Dylan wasn’t about to let her go. No, he actually couldn’t live without her. Even though it didn’t seem like that, his escapes were just screams for help. He had to learn how to be soon to be husband and with what he had more problems, fatherhood.
Dylan just watched his fiancée without a word. He didn’t know what to say anyway. He was sure that if he spoke out right away he would cause just some more fighting between them. And he didn’t want it. He just poured himself a glass of brandy as he walked over to the alcohol table. Then he came up to the dressing table, downed the glass and looked at himself in the mirror. Was he able to say sorry again today? He didn’t know that. "Honest. I have problems with being honest." he said finally.

Selena was entitled to her doubts, as was every wife and girlfriend. She knew better than to believe the words of Blaze Dolohov, but yet, here she was asking for Dylan to be honest. Something he quite clearly couldn’t do. It was better that way though. The last thing Selena needed was to be hurt, she didn’t want to shed anymore tears, she just wanted to be happy and to do that meant being kept in the dark then it was what she was willing to do. She didn’t want to get up and leave, destroying her son’s chances of a relatively normal childhood, unlike her own. Charlie needed to grow up in a secure home, with both parents, who loved each other.
She knew Dylan was listening to her, taking every word in. Selena needed him to realize how she was feeling, how confused she had been in the previous months. The one thing she refused to acknowledge was her depression, the one feeling she wanted no one to realize. The depression had taken a toll on everything, especially her appearance, but she was finally getting over it…or making it worse. Alcohol had been her safeguard, the one thing she had been turning to, it numbed her pain, the pain that Dylan couldn’t protect her from.
It was her chance to listen to him, to know how he was feeling. But Dylan didn’t speak immediately, instead he poured himself a glass of brandy and watched his reflection. Selena’s blue eyes watched him intently and when he spoke, her gaze faltered slightly. How could she respond to that? If he had problems with being honest, then how did they expect to live through a marriage, a relationship?
Pushing herself off the bed, Selena moved over to Dylan, wrapping her arms around him, “Maybe this conversation’s for another time.” She said finally, pushing the bottle brandy away. If they continued to speak, the higher the chance of the arguing would continue and neither wanted that. “Maybe you should just come to bed.” Selena suggested, looking up at him while her fingers slowly undid the buttons of his shirt.

Dylan indeed had problems with honesty being in a serious relationship. Normally he was more than honest. He said what he thought, he had no problems with that. Yes, he lied when it was needed but not because he didn’t want to hurt anyone but because their ears weren’t to hear that. They couldn’t know many things Dylan had to keep in secret. And he knew that words could hurt deeply so he gave people very rude comments all the time. He got mad easily and spoke out loud what he thought but Selena… she was just too fragile in his opinion. He loved her and hated to see her hurt but he knew it won’t change. She will ever have a reason to worry, cry because of him. He knew she couldn’t be fully happy with a man like him. But she loved him no matter what, right? Yet, Dylan didn’t want to find out if it was true. He didn’t want to disappoint her trust. He did too much of a mess already. He loved her too and was willing to spend the life with her. He didn’t want to lose her. He knew she was the one. She was the one in a million. She was the right woman. Maybe he could try to change more for her than he did already.
These lovely soft arms that belonged to the woman he loved, have wrapped around him. Dylan closed his eyes and sighed cooling down. Selena spoke up again. He was glad of what she said but there could be no other time for that conversation. This was the right time to speak away what was on their minds, even if it meant silence between them for few days again. She suggested coming to bed and even undid the buttons of his shirt. He looked at her with love. She was too good for him. She was a doll. He took her hands in his. "I’m really sorry for what I will tell you next." he started "You want me to be honest. I know you expect it from me now and will expect it after we get married. So… " Dylan paused and took a deep breath "I know I did something what is going to hurt you, I’m just not sure if it exactly was that. I barely remember anything because I was dead drunk. All I know is that I woke up in a hotel room and find a note from Cassandra Greyback on a night cabinet thanking for the night." he wasn’t sure of how she would react on that but he knew that he would have to hold his anger back because she would have a right to do that.

Not only did Selena love Dylan, more than she could possibly express, she was also drawn him and he had quickly became her addiction, she was hooked on his every word. She needed this to work. She needed the life that they had built together. If it collapsed, then she would be lost, bewildered, no longer knowing where to turn. Perhaps she was a fragile being who couldn’t handle the truth, but she couldn’t live a lie, she couldn’t be the fool. Although she had been warned of Dylan’s infidelity, Selena wouldn’t believe it. She had placed all her trust in him, all she needed was for him to return it. So when he dismissed Blaze’s advice and warnings of her fiancée’s unfaithfulness, Selena pushed it out of her mind and took Dylan’s words as the truth, he had been faithful to her and always would.
Hoping this would all go away, all the tension and arguing, Selena’s fingers continued to unbutton his shirt, determined to pull him into bed with her. However, she was hoping for too much as Dylan’s hands clasped around her own and he looked at her, a look that was filled with love, but also regret. Selena no longer wanted to hear what he had to say, she wanted the silence to drown them. The voice in her mind screamed for her to walk away before it was too late, but her feet where stuck to the floor and before could do anything else, Dylan’s voice broke the welcomed silence. His words had struck her in a way she hadn’t expected, they cut her deep and even before he could finish his words, she moved away from him. Selena had surely never expected it to hurt this much, for his words to cause so much pain. The hurt mixed with anger and her cerulean blue eyes formed a spiteful glare, “After everything I have done for you, you still can’t get it in your trousers. While I sit at home and mind your kid, you’re out screwing some skank.” Selena kept her voice at a low tone, afraid to wake Charlie, “Worst of all, when I confronted you, asked you when I needed the truth you dismissed it and made me feel like the guilty one. How dare you.” She spat at him angrily while lifting her hand and throwing a slap his way. “I can’t do this anymore.” Selena finally said, “I can’t be second best to you.”

Spencer could only assume what was on her mind. He couldn’t predict her reaction fully. He couldn’t know if she really wanted him to speak or just shut up and go to bed with her. But he had to tell her that. He just had to. He thought that if he didn’t tell her about it now it would bite him in the ass in future. And he was sure that if he not tries to be honest with her now he will never be. He didn’t want to lie to her all the time or hide everything. But he knew he will be doing that if he gets off lightly also this time. He knew he did wrong denying his fault completely at the beginning but he really didn’t want it to come out to light. But when he realized that she was so good for him and she believed him no matter what, he thought she needed even the most painful truth of what man he was. If she decided to call off their engagement and leave him, he couldn’t blame her. He really was a bad man, not a bad boy that every girl seemed to like but a nasty liar and a pure evil that surprisingly fell in love.
Yes, Dylan loved Selena. He loved her that much that when she moved away and glared at him he still had that loving look on his face but put on a guilty one as well. He took everything she said. He understood her point. He didn’t try to defend himself this time or turn it for his sake. He didn’t duck and run taking a slap like a man. He deserved it. But because of his short temper he had to hold his anger on leash. He didn’t like hearing what Selena said. He didn’t like the tone she used and he normally would ‘punish’ anyone else but her. "You are not the second best one to me. I didn’t look lustfully at any other woman than you in a very long time." he said and took a deep breath. "I know nothing excuses me but I did not want that happen. I do not even know if I actually had sex with her. Maybe we just spent that night in a pub drinking. She had never been here nor had in a hotel with me. We did it once when I followed her like a lost puppy during my Hogwarts years. Maybe she saw me dead drunk and not knowing where I live took me to the hotel to get some sleep and sober up. I don’t know, I really don’t know." Dylan just stood there explaining her how he felt about that all. "Selena, I love you. I can’t lose you because of that stupid mistake I regret more than anything in my whole life." he didn’t move to hold or hug her in case she didn’t want him to touch her anymore. "If you hate me, I won’t stop you. You can do anything. But mind that I never cared about anyone but you."

‘Once a cheater, always a cheater’ The voice that belonged to her mother screamed at her, and vague memories and lectures on to leave a cheater filled her mind. There had been a time when Selena had spoken so freely of leaving a man who revelled in infidelity, now, now it was easier said than done. She had to look at it in a positive way, Dylan was honest, he wanted to get it off his chest and start a fresh, no more lying or cheating. It would just be the two of them. Right? Hesitation washed over her as she took a step forward, trailing her fingers through her curls, “Thank you, for being honest with me. I need to realize that you could’ve went on pretending that everything was fine and continued to see other women.” Swallowing back the tears and forcing the lump that formed in her throat down, she looked at her fiancée, “But now that you’ve admitted to your wrong doings, it’ll stop, right?” She asked, only hoping for the best.
Selena wasn’t prepared to get up and leave it all behind. Perhaps when she was completely intoxicated, she may have acted on drunken emotions, but now that she was sober and sensible, Selena wasn’t going to throw her ring at him, take Charlie and leave. No, she was stronger than that. “I love you, more than I ever thought was possible. I’m not going anywhere. We’ll get through this. Consider it a rough patch, one that we’ll mend.” Not only was she telling Dylan this, but she was also reassuring herself. “And listen to this. If you hurt me in any possible way again, I will just play you back at your own game.” The smirk couldn’t resist to crawl onto her lips as she took another step closer to him. It was odd how she was reacting to this, instead of throwing things and arguing, she was simply teasing him. Only because she knew how delicate matters like these could be, the fiery arguments and words spoken in the heat of the moment, she didn’t want that. Moving in, she brought her lips to his ear, “But do you know what this means? This means you owe me some amazing and worth make-up sex.” Her whisper had a seductive tone to it as her lips made contact with his skin and began to leave a small trail of kisses down his jaw-line, “I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.” Selena added, the smirk still playing on her lips as her eyes met his own.

It seemed almost impossible but Dylan Sean Spencer just expressed himself again in front of the woman. But the woman wasn’t some random chick met at the street. Selena was a woman of his life. She was the only one human being he loved. Of course he loved their son too but it wasn’t the point. Selena was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. That’s why he was honest with her. That’s why he repeated how much he loved her. He didn’t want to lose her yet he expected her to storm out the room, take Charlie and leave him. Dylan wanted to turn from her, put his head down and summon some alcohol and drink to death when his fiancée spoke up. Did she just thank him for being honest with her? He had to blink and repeat it in his mind before it really got to him. And then she asked it will stop. Of course it will. He didn’t want to cheat on her. It happened by an accident. He nodded instead of replying verbally.
What Selena said next brought a small smile onto his face. She really was too good for him but maybe that turn in his life was good. Maybe he did deserve that. Maybe it was time for Dylan to make a real happy family. He had Selena, his fiancée. He had Charlie, their son. Maybe after they get married they can have another child, planned one this time. Maybe it was their chance to be happy. He wanted to believe that. Selena had managed to cheer Dylan up already. So what she said next made him want to chuckle, though, he held it back. And her little smirk just made things better. It was amazing what power she had over him. She could make him say the truth. She could make him laugh. She could make him cry. She could make him want to do anything for her. Anything. He didn’t move when she got closer, moved in and brought her sweet lips to his ear. A full smile appeared on his face when he heard her whispers those words. There was no better make up session in his opinion. And sex was what he liked the bets, what he lived for. And se with Selena was always like magic. He had luck she fell in love with him and was only his. He didn’t moved when she started kissing down his jaw-line. But when she added the she was going anywhere and her eyes met his he put his hands onto his small waist. "Anything you want, sugar." Dylan said finally. He leaned in and pecked her soft lips lightly. He made a small step back and then lifted Selena up putting one hand on her back and the other under her legs. "Now, where do you want to make up, my dear? Any specific place in your mind?"

It still continued to faze her that despite how angry or hurt Dylan made her, at the end of the day she’d drop everything and return to his arms. But that wasn’t what fazed her most. The moment she met Dylan Spencer, a man notorious for his one night stands, he became a new toy she wanted to try out and in which, she did. It had only been that one time, nothing serious, just a little fun and after that, they moved on to the next new toy. However their second meeting had completely different consequences, it was that night that they ignited, and Selena was pretty sure it was that night they conceived Charlie. But if they rewind months beforehand and had she been asked would Dylan Spencer be involved in her future, Selena would have answered with a confident and definite ‘No’ She was positive he wouldn’t be capable of love, of any type of commitment, but it was safe to say he surprised the living hell out of her. If he had been willing to change for her, then to fix and mend their relationship was worth a shot, she certainly wasn’t going to pass it by.
Trying to fix something broken is never easy and now being aware of the knowing, the images of the other women who he could have wrapped around his arm flooded through her mind. What if there had been more than one? What if he was just lying to make her feel better? No one could blame her on how she was feeling. Unlike most women she didn’t pack her bags, take their baby and leave. Some could call her stupid, especially her mother, but leaving was her last alternative, if after many attempted tries to make their relationship work and continuous fails, then she would take her turn and leave. Maybe then it would be easier for them to be happy, maybe it would just be overall easy without breathing down one another’s necks. As the thoughts came and went, she stared into the eyes of the man she found herself hopelessly devoted to. There would be no mission that she could walk away from him. Selena wanted this life they had built, it was the life she wanted for her baby. Here they where, an independent couple, living off a lot of money in a huge manor with their own child, it was as if their goals and ambitions had all fallen into place. Only a crazy or very wise person would walk away from it all. Her cobalt blue eyes, glanced at his features, searching for signs of uncertainty before he leaned in and placed a small kiss on her lips. Before she knew it, she had her legs snaked around Dylan’s body while his hands securely rested on her legs and back, “All I care about is getting you out of these clothes, I don’t care if it’s on the floor, against the wall or on the bed, I just want you now.” Her tone was almost dominant and demanding, practically taking control of the situation and she smiled coyly at him.

He was just a stupid jackass, a manwhore and whatever insult you could come up with. He was a badass, he knew her weakest spots and knew how to push them. He had sense of humor she liked but never really showed that in front of him. He was confident and stubborn, didn't like to lose. Funny thing that Selena was actually somehow alike. Maybe that’s why a wall he had built around his heart was now broken. He really was in love with Selena Black. Not only because of her looks and you had to admit she was pure perfection. Her eyes were like two big, clear blue lakes you wanted to drown in. Her silk soft hair, that nice shaped nose, full lips so kissable, her overall body shape, simply perfect. He couldn’t lose her and their heir. He wouldn’t be happy ever again.
Dylan smirked playfully somewhat aroused by her eagerness. He did like when she was like that what was a little strange because he preferred to be in charge and he looked like one. ”I like the sound of it.” he said truthfully and turned towards their bed. He placed her gently on it and kissed her lips roughly just the way she liked. He left it for her pleasure to undress him though. Instead he started to undress her from her night clothes she put on a while ago. He didn’t feel like it was necessary to play games. She wanted it now and she would get it fast. He just pushed her further on the bed and quickly started doing what he was the best with just after killing.
*** When they were done another smirk-like smile curved Dylan’s lips. He had no doubt they were meant to be. He held his soon to be wife close rubbing her back as she was half-rested on his bare chest. Maybe it was against his previous lifestyle and values but he was glad he realized he needed her to be his forever. And if it meant leaving everything she wanted him to leave, if it meant resigning from other women, Dylan Spencer was ready to do this. Selena really meant the world to him. "Feeling sleepy yet, my lady?"
