Ah Christmas time, or as Kelsey liked to call it, the greatest time of the year. Ever since she was little she had adored Christmas with all her heart. The presents, the huge meals and of course, the fighting. There was always some sort of argument that went on over the table between family members. Whether it be Fiona and Robert fighting as always, Mandy trying to keep peace between her mother and husband or last year when Kelsey had sneaked off to go see James for the holidays, there was always some sort of drama happening. Maybe this Christmas would be drama free. Oh that was a laugh. When it came to the LeBlanc's, it was never drama free.
Kelsey had awoken very early this Christmas morning, well early compared to other days. James had already been up and out on his morning run, as always. Usually Kelsey would waddle herself into the kitchen and make something to eat but today she was feeling rather odd. Her head hurt slightly and it felt like she had indigestion, causing her stomach to hurt on the rare occasion. She shrugged it off though and waddled herself out of bed and into the kitchen to get a glass of milk. Being almost 8 months pregnant was taking its told on Kelsey. She knew that she had one month to go before she would be a mother which scared her. She was still not ready for the responsibility. It seemed to her like she just found out she was pregnant but each day, her very swelled belly reminded her that she was very close to popping out these two children.
Pouring the milk into a cup, Kelsey had to take a break and rub her tummy. It was really starting to hurt. Maybe it wasn't indigestion but the babies kicking really hard or something. They were really strong and often loved to kick, as though they were fighting with each other inside the womb. She hoped that this pain would go away. She was due to go to her parent's house for Christmas supper with James today. Her mouth watered thinking about all the food that waited for her consumption. However, if this pain continued she would have to miss out and stay home. Taking a deep breath, Kelsey pushed the pain aside and took a drink of her glass of milk and began to make her way into the living room. Suddenly, the pain got a bit worst, causing her to lean against the door way to the living room.
Then, it happened. Kelsey looked down to see a trail of water falling down her leg and making a puddle on the floor. Her water broke. The babies were coming. Her eyes got wide as she looked in horror. She placed her cup of milk on the coffee table, moving away from the water on the floor. She needed James. Where the hell was he? Maybe he was outside or something. "JAMES!," Kelsey screamed at the top of her lungs as she waddled over to a wall to hold her balance. She felt weak and in pain. Her mind was racing more than ever before. She was going to be a mother! She wasn't ready, at all! Where was James?! She was freaking out here. "JAMES WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!? The babies are coming!" Kelsey screamed again, her anger getting the best of her. She was more scared than anything. What if something happened to her while she was giving birth? Oh she was not ready for this! Couldn't these twins just wait another month?

It was getting colder by the day now and Christmas had finally arrived. Winter break had been something James was anticipating for a while now because that would mean kelsey was home from Hogwarts full time for a couple weeks. James missed his wife terribly and often enough to trips up to Hogwarts to see her just because he could. How was he supposed to do this? It was killing him to not be able to see her every day, because sometimes even when she spend the night at home he had practice and would not get home until far too late to spend any real time with her. This was just what he had feared about this job was even though he loved it, it was taking away from his time with kelsey. Why couldn't he have been one year younger so that he would still be in school with her?
The night before had been amazing, they had made their attempts at sex even though it got harder with every passing day. Mostly because one of them would be tired, or Kelsey's tummy would get in the way. And of course the fact that at one point James had wondered if perhaps sex was not good for the babies, that had put a stop to it for at least a week. But the two were not able to go that long without it. The sooner those babies were born though the sooner he would be able to make love to his wife every night again, and of course he would be doing it in-between every cry from those twin babies that were for now, growing inside Kelsey's stomach.
That morning James had woken far before Kelsey did as usual and got dressed to go for a run. Things were still business as usual for him, with the exception of the holiday dinner tonight. He was not sure if he was looking forward to this or not, but he had to find a way to go to two Christmas dinners, one at his parents and one at her parents houses and manage to eat both dinners. The thing was, Kelsey would have no problem with that, being pregnant she was eating just about everything in sight and it did not really matter what it was. In the end if it was edible or sweet at all Kelsey just about wanted it. A year ago James had done everything to stay away from his father in law, because he and Kelsey had just recently run off to get married, but now a year later, with twins on the way in a month, he assumed it would be safer to go around Robert.
When he got back to his porch he picked up the pack of Marlboros he had sitting on the edge of the railed front porch and the lighter and took one out. One cigarette when he woke up, one after his run, one after lunch, one before dinner, and before bed. And on the nights they had sex another one after sex. It was a routine now, and much less a habit. James used to go through a pack of cigarettes in a day or less, but now he was down to five, maybe six a day. That made them last at least four days and that was a big improvement from where he was when Kelsey had told him she was pregnant. He promised himself he was going to try and quit, for her sake and the babies and his own. He knew it was a rotten habit but it was one that was not easy to ditch.
James was leaning against the porch railing puffing away at his second cigarette that day, and then out of no where he heard Kelsey's voice screaming at the top of her lungs. That was not a good sign, first off, Kelsey was never up that early. Second, she had screamed his name. James did not bother to put the cigarette out, but he left it on the ledge of the railing burning away as he turned around to get inside because the next thing he heard Kelsey say was that the babies were coming. It was like he could not think straight, this was not supposed to be happening for another month! What was this all about? It could not really be time yet could it?
When he pushed open the door Kelsey was leaning against a wall to keep her balance and there was a puddle of liquid on the floor presumably where she had been standing only moments before. "Shit..." he said softly more to himself than to her. Then he rushed to her side and put his arms around her to help her stand straight, not quite sure what to do. They had not been planning on this at all yet, what was he supposed to do? "Umm, baby, do you think apparating is a smart idea?" he asked, not sure how else to get them where they had to go. Because one thing was certain they could not do this alone and they needed to get to St. Mungo's, and fast. "Because I really don't know what else to do besides to go to St. Mungo's..." he stated, being bluntly honest. They had not prepared for this at all, they were supposed to have a month still! Damn children were already making their own plans, and they were not even born yet!

This couldn't be happening. It was a dream, yeah that's what it was, a nice long dream. She would wake up from it at any moment now and find that she was not in labor and that the babies still had a month to be born. However, as a pang of pain hit her, she knew she wasn't dreaming. This was real and Kelsey was going to be a mother soon. Whether it be in an hour or 12 hours, she was going to become a mother.
She wasn't ready for this. She still had so much to learn. Like how do you know when they are hungry or just fussing? Or do they ever stop crying? Did she have all the stuff she needed for the babies? Were there enough diapers? What if the babies didn't like her? Would she be a good mother. Thought after thought rushed through her brain and she couldn't stop them. She was scared beyond belief that something bad would happen. What if one of the babies died when she was giving birth? Or maybe both of them? What if there was something wrong? What if she died while giving life to her children? What would James do without her? It was funny how she could think all of this in just a few short moments.
Kelsey felt James rush to her side and hold onto her. She could tell that he was just as worried as she was at that moment which made her even more scared and cranky. "I don't care how you fucking do it James, just get me to a fucking hospital," Kelsey snapped as she looked at James. Another pang of pain hit her, causing her to wince slightly. Holding onto James, she began to waddle over to the hall closet and opened the door. She pulled out a suitcase she had prepared just in case and a note that was on top of it. She was scared that something like this would happen so she had at least prepared a little bit and made a bag for the occasion.
"Owl this to my parents when we get to the hospital. Its just a note telling them I am in labor. They would kill both of us if they missed this," Kelsey said calmly, handing the note and the suitcase to James. She looked around the room for a second, making sure she had everything. This was it. When she would come back to this house again, it would be with little Mandee-Lynn and Henry in her arms. She sighed and looked at James, a small smile on her face. "We're going to be parents," she said softly, trying to calm him down. But then, she felt another pang of pain hit her, causing her to wince again, wiping any smile off her face. "Now get me to the hospital before I have these babies right here in the hallway," Kelsey snapped, griping onto James. Her life was never going to be the same again. Goodbye teenage years, hello parenthood.

This was it. It was actually happening now and there was no turning back. What had made them be so irresponsible when it came to making sure they did not get pregnant? What had made him say that they would be able to handle it? Why was he doing anything he was doing? A few months and a year prior and he had been a free man to do whatever the hell he felt like and now he was settled down with a wife and in the matter of hours two little kids! What had he been thinking? Oh yeah, that Kelsey was the love of his life, and he simply could not live without her. Which was absolutely true. But in the end was it really something they were ready to do? Well ready or not, here they came.
James stood there trying to help Kelsey stay standing up right and when he asked her how they should leave she hollered at him and it was not in the cute way she normally did. It was a more pissed off and grumpy Kelsey than he could remember seeing and he had been told this is what happens to girls when they go into labor but he had never once believed anyone when they said that. because Kelsey had always been absolutely wonderful, what would change that when she went into labor? James sighed a little without responding to what she said to him at first.
Then she moved and he followed her to hold her up and keep her steady on her feet, and she pulled a suit case out of the hallway closet. At least one of them had thought a head a little bit! She handed him a piece of parchment and told her to owl it to her parents as soon as they arrived at St. Mungo's, because they would kill them if they missed this. "You've got that right." James said, still slightly panicy, and not sure just what to do here. He assumed that it would be safe to apparate, no one had once told him against it. But first he wanted to make sure Kelsey had everything she planned on taking.
Kelsey gave him a soft and short lived smile, and managing the statement "We're going to be parents." before she had another fit of pain and James was just as nervous now as he had been when he first heard her screaming for him. What was he really supposed to do in this situation? Kelsey made that very apparent after she yelled at him once again to get her to the hospital before the babies were born in the hallway. "Always over dramatic love." he said with a grin before putting stuffing the letter in his back pocket to take with him and putting his free hand on the suitcase, the other around Kelsey, and apparating to the hospital.
When the sensation of apparation was gone they were standing in a waiting area in St. Mungo's and immediatly there were people at their sides to help, one took Kelsey and soon enough found them a room. "I'll be right back love." he said and kissed her cheek and went off to mail the letter to her parents and wrote a quick second one to his own parents. Whether or not his parents would show up for the birth of his first two children was beyond him but he wanted to let them know just in case. He knew for a fact he would be seeing Robert and Mandy sooner than he had hoped but at least he knew he did not have to see Kelsey's grandparents now, that was a plus. And once he did that he managed to take a few short puffs off a cigarette before running back inside, God this was scary. James had never been more worried in his life.
Then soon enough he was back inside and by his wife's side, waiting for the birth of his twins.

Robert had taken an unused room in their house, and turned it into a study for himself. He didn't really need it but, it had been helping to keep his mind off of drinking. Also, he could escape the pregnant induced nagging, complaining, moody version of his wife. Now, more than ever he wanted to steer clear of his old friend vodka. He was going to be a grandfather (as much as he hated to use the term) soon, and then a father again not too long after. Plus, things were much, much better when he wasn't drunk twenty-four seven. He could think clearly.
It was in this very study in which Robert sat at his nice, wooden desk. It was scattered with papers, mostly Hogwarts business and a few nasty letters from his dear old dad and mother-in-law. If there were ever two people that belonged together, it was those two. They both had something in common - making Robert's life miserable. He swore they both enjoyed it which made this Christmas dinner look like a normal one. Fiona yelling at Robert for something, Mandy going completely insane because she wouldn't be able to drink as much wine to get through the evening, Victor - who wasn't even invited would probably just show up. Yup, a fun evening indeed. All Robert wanted was a nice quiet dinner, before all chance of quiet would be gone with three babies crawling around.
Despite the lack of peace prospect, Robert was actually happy. Weird, putting Robert and happy together in the same sentence but, it was true. He was happy about becoming a grandfather, and more so happy to be a father again. Hopefully this time around, he wouldn't fuck up. He really hoped he didn't fuck up this one. Knowing his luck, he probably would - he was completely scared that he would do something that would result in the child resenting him. No, he wouldn't let that happen. Robert was determined not too.
Robert settled back in his nice office chair, sipping away at a cup of coffee. He had moved from being an alcoholic to a coffee addict. He often desired to make it an irish coffee but, did not. He just added a bunch of sugar, then it didn't taste so bad. Robert felt quiet relaxed in his nice quiet office. That was until an owl stared tapping at the window. He looked at it and sighed, getting up to open it to let the blasted bird in. A letter was tied to it's foot, he untied it and off wen the owl. Robert shut the window and opened the letter, slowly walking back to his chair. He read over it quickly, expecting it to be something Hogwarts related. As it turned out it wasn't. Robert blinked, to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Nope, he wasn't. He was still in his office, staring at the bit of parchment that stated his dearest Kelsey was in labor and at St. Mungos.
His hand went a little shaky and he dropped the letter, if you could call it that and rushed out of the office, down the hall a bit, and to the living room. "Mandy!" he called, hoping she wasn't sleeping. She hated being woken up, and Robert hated being the one to wake her up. It wasn't always pretty, not her, she was always pretty, beautiful, radiant - but, that's beside the point. This time, she should be glad she was being woken up - or maybe not. In who knows how long, they were going to be grandparents...again.

Kelsey was scared. She was scared to give birth. She knew it was going to hurt but how much pain would it actually be? All her life she had never really been good with pain. Even the littlest hit would cause her a great amount of pain. She didn't know if she could handle this pain. What if she passed out right in the middle of the birth? What would happen then? Or what if one of the babies' heads got stuck? Kelsey hated hospitals and needles and anything medical. What if they had to cut her open? Oh this was not going to be a pleasant experience for her.
Kelsey was also scared that the children wouldn't like her. What if they cried every time they saw her? She was terrified of being a bad mother. She didn't know if she would get those motherly instincts. She was scared that she would fall asleep and leave the babies crying, since after all she was a very sound sleeper. It took James nearly three or four tries to get out of bed in the morning. Plus, being a horcrux, she tended to have very bad mood swings when she wasn't thinking. The lack of sleep she would have taking care of the babies could make her horcrux thing act up and she could hurt the babies. Kelsey wasn't ready for this. She blamed James for getting her into this mess. Him and his stupid irresistible penis.
Kelsey felt the familiar feeling of apparation rush over her and when she opened her eyes she was in St. Mungo's. She watched as James left her side and sighed. Where was he going? Kelsey began to pace back and forth, waiting for James to come back. She looked like a panicking mess and just wanted to lay down in a bed. "Where the fuck is he," Kelsey said, getting kind of pissed. Then, James came back in, and she shot him one of her 'you're lucky you came back when you did' looks. A nurse soon approached her and took her to a room. She was given a gown to wear and then the nurse left, leaving her and James alone. She sighed and changed into the gown then laid down on the bed.
"I'm so nervous James," Kelsey sighed, nearly in tears. She looked at him as she got more comfortable in the bed. Wincing, she gripped onto the sides of the bed as she felt pain come over her again. The contractions were getting closer and closer together, meaning the babies were coming fast. For the first time in a long time, Kelsey wanted her mom. She would know what to do in this situation. After all, she had had three children already. "I'm scared.. I want my mom," Kelsey told James as she looked at him with teary eyes. Hopefully her parents would get here soon. She couldn't imagine having the babies without them being here. Kelsey felt tears running down her face as she looked at James. She was feeling so many emotions at once that it would surely cause her to go insane. Were all mothers this scared before they gave birth or was she the only one to feel this way. She continued to cry as pain came over her and she reached out for James' hand. All she wanted was for him to hold her close and tell her everything was going to be alright.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SO WHY DON'T YOU LAY RIGHT HERE LET ME JUST EASE YOUR MIND I'M GIVING YOU ALL MY TIME ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Christmas. It had once been Mandy’s favourite day of the year, the day when all of her family would come together, she’d be floundered with presents, and have a great meal to sit down to. What changed? A lot of things changed after she married Robert, including Christmas. As a child she remembered Christmas being possibly one of the most peaceful days of the year at her home, no nagging from her mother, her father would help open the presents, and in Mandy’s eyes it was pretty darn picture perfect. However, after joining the LeBlanc family, Christmas had quickly turned into quite a stressful time. Over the years, she had realized there was never going to be enough wine to get her through an evening with her mother on the verge of throwing a kitchen knife at Robert, Victor deciding to join in on the fun, while she refilled her glass with alcohol every few minutes.
There was no way in hell that was happening this year. Especially when she didn’t have the wine to help her through the night, and even if she did, she’d be restricted to one glass. Mandy wasn’t even sure if she invited anyone over for supper, but whether she had invited people or not, they would arrive nevertheless. If she had invited anyone, then she had surely warned them that her pleasantries had been thrown out the window at the this point. Her hormones had been on tilt in the last month, her moods changing drastically and her snappy comments becoming more frequent. Mandy had been debating whether it had been the pregnancy hormones kicking in, or the fact that she had been continuously lacking her sleep, perhaps it was a mixture of both. All in all, she was in no state to listen to the usual Christmas banter.
She had been in no state for anything as of late. She’d felt like a right mess and although she enjoyed spending the majority of time in the comfort of her bed, it was very unlikely that she’d fall into a slumber. When the rare occasion did come and the tiredness would overtake her, she’d drift off into a light slumber, one of which would never last too long to keep her fully satisfied.
Today however had been somewhat different. Mandy had managed to find her sleep, but not without tossing and turning continuously, constantly getting the feeling as if something was happening. The knowing feeling. Before she knew it, Mandy had woken from her slumbers and made her way into the bathroom, preparing herself for another crazy Christmas. Simply because of the fact that it had been Christmas, she’d decided to put a little effort into her appearance. Applying her make up, slipping on a new knee-length black dress, a pair of heels and just while she dragged her fingers through her unruly curls, wondering how she’d ever manage to tame her hair, a familiar voice called out to her. At first Mandy ignored her husband’s call, initially deciding to let him believe that she was still caught up in her slumbers, that was before she noted how frantic his tone seemed to be when he called out for her.
With a small sigh, Mandy turned to her side, examining herself in the mirror, immediately noticing the tiny bump that had once been easy to hide. Considering she had no plans for the day ahead, she felt it hadn’t been necessary to cover herself up and let the material of the dress cling to her body. Her hazel eyes lingered a moment, before moving out of the bedroom and down the flight of stairs until she found herself standing in front of her husband. “You called?” Mandy’s tone had a sarcastic edge to it, which only brought a grin to her lips.

For a moment, Robert considered going upstairs to get her if Mandy didn't appear soon. He'd hate to wake her, and not just because she'd be pissed at him but, she needed the sleep. Robert noticed she hadn't been sleeping well, which kind of resulted in him not sleeping as well as usual either. He tried not to show it, or let it bother him at all. Besides, he'd been drinking so much coffee lately, it didn't matter how much sleep he got, he could still make it through the day. Robert took steps, reaching the bottom of the stairs and then Mandy appeared.
For a split second, upon seeing her, he completely forgot what words were. That had been happening a lot lately. It went along with the whole thinking clearly because no booze thing, he was remembering quite a few things he had forgotten...mostly things about Mandy. For example, despite her lack of sleep, she still looked amazing to him. In a way, Robert was falling in love with her all over again. It was nice, to feel that way again. Then, Kelsey came into mind and that was the end of that moment for now.
Robert smiled slightly and took her hands in his. "We'll have to eat Christmas dinner at St. Mungos," he said carefully. "We have a short letter from James that Kelsey went into labor not too long ago. She'll want us there." A small ounce of panic swept through him. He remembered the whole giving birth ordeal quite well. His hand was nearly broken a good three times now. A smirk flickered across his face. Haha, James was going to have to go through that - if the twins were delivered normally.
Then, he felt worrisome. What if something went wrong? Things could go very wrong during labor...so he had heard. Women sometimes died during it. The idea of Kelsey dying (again) instantly killed him. What would he do? More importantly, what would happen to those babies? James couldn't possibly take care of them on his own. Not in a million years - not with quidditch being his profession of choice. Robert mentally scolded himself. Now, he was just worrying too much. Nothing was going to happen to Kelsey. "So, we should probably go," he said, shoving all the worrisome thoughts aside.

When James had rejoined Kelsey she was in bed and in the hospital gown and the look on her face was not of happiness. How could people say that they day their child was born was the happiest day of their lives? James just could not fathom just a thought right now because the only thing on his mind was that this was about to change everything as he knew it. Again. James had done a lot of that in the past year but this was bound to be the biggest change yet. He decided now that he was no where near ready to be a parent, and he was scared shitless. But he would be brave for Kelsey, anything for her. He just wanted her to feel safe and to not worry. Which was exactly what she was doing now, worrying. But then again, when didn't Kelsey worry?
When she had shot him the 'you're lucky' glare he had smiled at her, in that way that always made her give him some sort of smile back. She was almost never able to be mad at him when he gave her that look, it was how he had flirted her up so many times before, but this time it was just a little reminder that he loved her. And that things would be fine. He immediatly went to her bedside, and sighed when she said she was scared. What was he supposed to say? That he was too? No, he couldn't do that, it would make her even more worried. "It's going to be okay love, I promise." he said instead, kissing the top of her head, and wishing that the babies had chosen a better time to just come rushing out! They had waited eight months, why couldn't they wait one more like they were supposed to? Oh, right because they were the children of Kelsey and James and neither on of them listened to their parents either.
Kelsey looked at him nervously and said that she wanted her mom. James gave her a soft smile and took one of her hands in his much larger one and sighed. "I sent them the owl love, so hopefully you're parents are on the way here now. I'm sure they won't miss this." he said gently, trying to sound confidant in his own words. He knew Robert and Mandy would not ever want to miss this, even if they had been furious about Kelsey and James marriage at first, and then her being pregnant, but in the end, they would never miss the birth of their grandchildren. Even if it was only to be there for Kelsey. James ran his fingers through her hair with his free hand that was not holding hers. He figured that the minute another contraction hit her his hand would be squished for dear life, but good news was he was prepared for it. As much as he could be at least, considering he expected it.
"So,are we ready for this?" he said softly to her, with a small grin on his face. This was it, soon enough, their little twins would be entering the world and nothing would ever be the same for the two of them again. Well, soon he could not even think of it as the two of them, it was the four of them. From now on, everything would include two strollers, two diapers, two bottles, and two screaming sets of lungs making noise all about the house. But in the end James knew they could take care of it, they had to be able to. At this point there was no turning back and even if they could, James was not even sure he would want to. This was his chance to raise a family and be there for his children, as much as he could. And he hoped it would be a lot, he wanted to be there for everthing.

Breath in and then breath out. Again. Breath in and then breath out. It was all about the breathing control. Well, that's what Kelsey thought at least. Ever since she had laid her body down in the hospital bed that was what she was trying to do. Concentrating on her breathing seemed to help take her mind off of the contractions and ease the pain slightly. However, she knew things, well the pain, were going to get worst. She was not looking forward to this. Why couldn't the babies just come out like while she was sleeping or something with no pain? These children weren't suppose to be coming so quickly! They weren't even born yet and they were already causing her so much trouble. She had a feeling that these two were going to be a very troublesome pair and yet she couldn't wait. She couldn't wait to hold them and to take care of them. She wanted to see their smiling faces and how it would light up when they laugh. She wanted to see if they looked more like her or James. These babies were going to be a combination of the both of them and she was so excited. They created two lives together. There had to be more good than bad things to come out of this pregnancy.
Kelsey sighed and looked at James, her face still frozen with fear. She gripped onto his hand as another contraction happened, most likely nearly breaking it. Her head was spinning and everything seemed too real. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she was going to be a mother. She placed a hand on her stomach and rubbed it slightly, sighing yet again. She heard James speak but didn't really comprehend the words that he was saying. She was off in her own little world at the moment and unable to think of anything else but the babies and how she was going to be a mother. She finally snapped back in reality to hear James ask if they were ready. Were they ready?
"Not even close," Kelsey sighed, her eyes still on James. She felt tears fall down her cheeks as the reality of everything set in. She was more scared than anything right now and didn't know how to be strong in this situation. "What.. What if something is wrong with the babies? Or what if something bad happens to them? Or me? There is a possibility that one of the twins could die.. What if I died? What would happen then?" Kelsey ranted, shooting out question after question. More tears fell down her cheeks as she closed her eyes and cried softly. Why was she so emotional right now? She wished that there was a button she could press to turn off all of her tears and emotional ranting.
"I'm sorry. I'm just really emotional right now. I'm so scared and I just really want my mom here right now. It's not that you're not a huge help or anything but she has already been through this and knows what it's like. Where are they?!" Kelsey sighed, still holding onto James' hand and opening her eyes. All her life, she had always did all the girly stuff by herself. Like school shopping, or getting a haircut, even her first period she handled on her own. She never really went to her mom for many things, until now. This was one of the first times she felt herself needing her mom to be with her. She needed her guidance and her to tell her everything was going to be okay. Why was it taking them so long to get here? Were they even going to come or not come in protest to her getting pregnant so young?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SO WHY DON'T YOU LAY RIGHT HERE LET ME JUST EASE YOUR MIND I'M GIVING YOU ALL MY TIME ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Mandy had expected her husband to say a lot of things, things along the lines of, ‘When are you going to make supper?’ or ‘What time are kids arriving?’ she hadn’t expected prepared herself for, ‘Kelsey went into labour.’ However being apart of this family you really had to expect the unexpected. At some degree she wasn’t all that surprised, luck with the LeBlanc’s always ran short. Not to mention, wasn’t it common that labour was usually brought on earlier when pregnant with twins? At least that had been what she’s be told.
How could she possibly think that things could go so smoothly. They where LeBlanc’s for crying out loud! If things had went smoothly then she’d consider it a bloody miracle. At the back of her mind she knew something like this was going to happen, and the reason it was at the back of her mind was because every time she thought about it, she feared of scudding something, so that was the main reason for pushing it away. Why hadn’t she been prepared? She had made sure to prepare herself when carrying all three of her children. Hell, she hired a midwife after she moved into the second trimester of her pregnancy. For the simple reason of being not only a paranoid mother, but a Leblanc. Inheriting the name only meant you inherited the curse, the curse of bad things continuously happening. If Mandy needed to prove that point all she needed to do was think of Kelsey and how she was a horcrux, how she had been raped, turned to alcohol and was now married and pregnant with twins. Then moving onto Anton, who was a vampire and currently worked under the supervision of Jack Lestrange, the man who had raped Kelsey. Vince, well he was only sixteen and already Mandy could tell that he was inheriting Robert’s ways of alcoholism and whoring. So for all those people who had any interest in becoming a LeBlanc, Mandy could only strongly advise against it.
Her stomach continued to churn nervously. She tried to keep the panic from sweeping across her delicate features as the thought of Kelsey experiencing the pain of child birth slipped into her mind. Mandy could remember the pain of giving birth to her three children clearly, it had been something she wasn’t so keen to experience once again, but to think that her daughter would have to endure all that pain, especially when it came to giving birth to twins brought a frown to her pale pink lips.
The frown didn’t stick around for too long before a small smile appeared, “I’m pretty sure this is the best Christmas present Kelsey’s given to us yet.” The worry seemed to disappear immediately as Mandy tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, “So, I guess we’re off to St. Mungo’s then.” Closing her eyes, Mandy thought of the three D’s, just like she had learned to, destination, determination and deliberation. That’s all it took and she was gone.
As her hazel eyes focused and scanned the familiar area, Mandy clasped onto Robert‘s arm, steadying herself before moving towards the desk, asking where Kelsey‘s room was, ‘Just down the corridor, room nine.’ That was all it took before she was striding down the corridor, and arrived outside room nine. “This should be fun.” Mandy managed to whisper to Rob, a hint of sarcasm in her voice as she opened the door and rushed to Kelsey’s side, “We got here as fast as we could. How are you feeling now love?” She asked quickly, sitting on the side of the bed while taking Kelsey’s hand.

Why the hell was it that when a women wants something heavy moved, she asks her husband, but when it comes to something that causes them pain they become unbelievably strong? James could feel his callused hands being squished more and more every time Kelsey had a contraction. By the time these babies were born he would either have it broken or extremely bruised. Which was sad if someone could to that to a Quidditch player's hands just by squeezing them like that. Because the way he held onto the brooms all day long and even with the gloves it caused his hands to become rough, but much stronger as well. But James was a good husband and never once did he tell Kelsey that it hurt or even ask her to squeeze a little softer. Because he knew his wife well, and she would only scream at him for that.
This was all so crazy, and happening so damn fast. James was having trouble keeping track of what was going on inside his brain, none of it was registering with the scene in front of him. He was too busy worrying about if everything was ready at the house for the babies to come home to even think about the actual birth. But then her words brought him back, for a few minutes. She asked him what would happen if something happened to one of the babies, or to her during the birth. James shook those thoughts away momentarily, unwilling to think something would go wrong. "Love, don't worry about it. Nothing's going to happen, you will be fine and they will be healthy. It's going to be fine honey." he said softly to her, and hoping she was willing to believe it like he was. Because he refused to think of what could happen unless it did happen.
Then he was caught up in his own little world again, thinking of what he had gotten done with the nursery. It was pretty much all done in there, not much left to do but a few last minute -at this point, very last minute- touches to the paint, and blankets in their cribs and such. But he was pretty sure that he had almost everything that needed to be done done. He was mentally going over checklists in his head, things they had talked about doing and things they had actually done. As far as preparing for these babies, they only things they had really done was he built the nursery and they had bought diapers and wipes and other baby related things.
Kelsey then went on an apology spree and he smiled at her and kissed her cheek. "it's okay love. Don't be sorry, this is scary for both of us. But it's going to be fine, they will be here as soon as they can I'm sure." James said, trying to reassure Kelsey that her parents would indeed be there soon. And not long after he said those words did he see the two of them coming into the room. James gave them a quick smile and then adverted his eyes back to his once again being squeezed hand, but still not saying a word about it. He watched Mandy pick up Kelsey's other hand and he almost felt sorry for her if she got her hand attacked too.
James gave Robert a quick nod in acknowledgment and said, "So Happy Christmas I suppose." He smiled, this was really going to be an interesting night. And to think at one point he was looking thinking he would be trying to stuff Christmas dinner in his stomach, and now the plans had changed so drastically that he was going to be a father. Today. Well, if there was a better time for it than Christmas someone needed to go on and tell him. Because this was going to be quite the Christmas present indeed.

Robert smiled. "I think it will be the best Christmas we've had in a while, actually," he said. Dinner at the house was now certainly out of the question. The chances Fiona and/or Victor showing up were now smaller. They could show up but, to an empty house. Robert highly doubted they would bother putting it all together and actually show up at the hospital. Neither of them were exactly thrilled with the idea of becoming great-grandparents..again. Heck, they weren't even thrilled when they became grandparents so, why should this be any different?
So, off to St. Mungos the two very-soon-to-be grandparents went. Robert looked at Mandy with some concern as she grabbed onto him. That feeling left him as suddenly, Mandy was hurrying down the corridor, and he turned to follow. A silent chuckle passed through him at Mandy's sarcasm. Robert slightly hesitated before entering the room. He lingered in the doorway a few seconds before actually stepping in and shutting the door behind him. He knew exactly why he didn't want to go in this room. After today, Kelsey wasn't going to be the same. Robert would be forced to look at her like an adult, and admit she was grown up. Above all, he was dreading this fact. He hated letting go of things, he was darn near incapable of it.
Robert nodded back to James. They had finally gotten to the stage of nodding to each other instead of Robert glaring and James shrinking away. For a moment, Robert squeezed in by Mandy and kissed Kelsey's head while he still hand a chance. Then, he took a fatherly position and stood behind Mandy, putting a hand on her shoulder as a gesture of support, though it was more for him than her. Then again, they were both facing the same prospect of being grandparents, again. "It is a Happy Christmas," he said, glancing at James and actually wore a slight smile. It would probably scared the crap out of James but, for a few hours they could all be like an actually happy, normal, family...and then they could go back to how things normally are for them.

She wanted this to all be over. This pain, this fear, everything to be over. She wanted to close her eyes and when she opened them the babies would be in front of her. She had never experienced a pain like this before. It felt like her insides were being ripped to shreds. Being crucioed felt better than what she was feeling at that moment. Sad part was, it was only going to get worst. She wasn't looking forward to this at all. She heard stories of people saying that having their children was the most amazing experience of their lives. How in the world could this be amazing? She felt like complete hell. They must have been really drugged at the time to enjoy that. Crazy people.
Kelsey was really starting to believe that her parents weren't going to show up. With the pain that was flowing through her body, she was becoming very irritable and had no patience to wait. She wanted them there now. She listened as James said everything was going to be fine and she just cracked. "You don't know that! You can't predict the future!" Kelsey snapped, her voice angry. She couldn't believe just how irritated her was. As another contraction hit she gripped James' hand more. She knew she was going to cause some damage to it if she continued to squeeze it like she was but she didn't care. It was his fault she was in this mess after all.
"They aren't coming! They've always been against this thing and aren't coming in protest! My family doesn't love me!" Kelsey ranted in anger, being over dramatic as always. She was dead set on the fact that her parents wouldn't show up that when she saw her mother rush to her side, she teared up and began to cry again. She held onto both James' and her mother's hand, a smile on her face as she cried. "Mom!," She gasped, looking at her mother. She held onto her hand tightly, her fear showing everywhere. "I'm so scared. I don't know what to do," She told her mother, looking at her with her fearful eyes. Another contraction swept over her, causing her to gasp in pain as she father came over and kisses her head.
"I thought you guys weren't going to come. I was scared that you were going to stay home in protest," Kelsey sighed, looking at her parents. Just as she said that, a doctor walked in with a smile on her face. She told Kelsey to spread her legs so she could see just how dilated she was. Kelsey did as she was told, and felt rather awkward as the nurse looked at her private area. She closed her eyes and only opened them when the nurse said that everything was fine and that she should be ready to deliver within the hour. With that, the nurse left, leaving Kelsey alone with her parents and James yet again.
"Within the hour?! I'm not ready for this?! I can't do this!" Kelsey panted, looking at her parents then glaring at James. "This is all your fault!! You should be going through this pain, not me!" Kelsey snapped, moving her hand away from James and then slapping him on the side of his head. She took a deep breath then took his hand again, squeezing it as another contraction came. If she had her wand, she would have cursed something by now. Who knew labor could make you so cranky. She tried to control her breathing again but failed miserably. Her mind was spinning. She was not ready to be a mother within the hour. She wouldn't be ready for another 10 years. What was she thinking getting pregnant so young. Stupid James. Stupid Penis. Stupid sex. Stupid stupid Kelsey.

The door opened before Vince as he crossed the threshold. Silence met his ears. He climbed the stairs. Silence met his ears. A frown creeped up on his brow. "Hello??" His echo rang back at him. He sat, pulling out his flask and sipping it as he relished in the silence grinning. His home had never been so quiet. He wondered vaguely why no one was home. Dad might still be at the school sure... but where was Mandy? Where was his mom... or brother... or sist- He barely contained himself from spitting out his drink all over the room. Silence. Silence was not normal... He jumped up, barely having enough presence of mind to grab the lid of his flask and a coat. The door slammed behind him. His feet hitting the ground running. Glad he had worn jeans, he only attracted a few glances as he flew down the muggle street.
He stopped short of the entrance and whispered harshly to the chipped manikin. He faded into the room, and already he was half jumping in his impatience. Finally the line in front of him diminished and his demanding tone rang throughout the waiting room. "Kelsey Leblanc... or... Potter I guess she is now. I’m her brother. Where is she? Is she already-" He didn't even have to finish the sentence. Nor could he if he was given the chance. Room number given, a healer guided his arm patiently as she tried unsuccessfully to calm him down. He jerked his arm from her grasp as she lead him from the entrance room. "Is she... Has she already..." He shuddered, unable to finish the sentences. But slowly the healer shook her head. To which question she was answering, he did not know.
Vince’s tension built as he neared the room. Familiar voices rose up to his ears in a jumble of words. He breathed. His sister was speaking... not calmly mind you. But speaking. He shuddered at the thought of hearing her screams. He couldn’t stand seeing her go through pain. And this... this was something he couldn’t punch someone for. He could tell the babies to back off and leave her alone. A sense of helplessness crawled up into his gut. Did he really want to enter the room? He couldn’t help her after all. He hesitated at the door, not even bothering to thank the healer who walked away a few moments later. A screaming protest met his ears. “... My family doesn’t love me!” He shook his head at her foolishness. A retort playing on his lips, but remained unspoken. He stood frozen. Listening outside the door, a flood of thoughts ambushed him from unknown locations. Two things stood out in the jumble of confusion. 1- He didn’t want to go in, he was not sure if he could handle it. 2-She would truly believe her family didn’t love her if 1) he didn’t go in and 2) he didn’t at least tell her she was being stupid. A smile played on his face as he imagined her retort, but it faded almost instantly as he thought of how she would look. Her face screwed up in pain... He paused, smacking himself mentally. He wasn’t aware that he had truly made his decision until he felt cold stone against his back as he leaned against the wall taking in the scene.
He had chosen a horrible moment to come in. Or the best moment in the world... depending on the way you looked at it. An almost bewildered looking James held the hand of his sister at her bedside, and was soon smacked over the side of his head, causing Vince to smirk. Kelsey herself was raving madly about the fact that it was James fault, ya-da ya-da. His mom sat on her bed as well, though her expression was hard to read... and his dad... wait. His dad looked... HAPPY?? He frowned wondering how much of this was a hoax. It ALMOST looked like they were a proper family. Well, with one family member less. He cursed his brother quietly. If he was here... Anton should be here.
Vince quickly shook that thought away, trying not to focus on Kelsey as a contraction ripped through her body. His shock seemed to be the only kind in the room. As she settled back down, he spoke at last, breaking his silence and announcing his presence. “Kels... I have 3 things to say to you. 1-your an idiot. 2-Your family does love you. 3-uh...do I get a spot on the bed too?” He smiled down at her, and joined his mom on the bed. He rested a hand on his sister’s shoulder and all other thoughts fell away. There was only one pure emotion left. Worry.
