Rose had left the building, needing desperately to get out and get some fresh air. After quite a few classes in one day, she was done with school for the next 2 days. She would just skip classes and find someplace to hang out. Her more recent place to use to get away, besides the Black Lake, had become the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Hogwarts was a very interesting place compared to Beauxbatons. There was so much more to do. Stopping just half a mile into the forest, Rose sat down on a blanket she had laid on the ground to collect her thoughts. That was all she did. She sat there and collected her thoughts and sometimes, even talked to herself. She had finally found Trevent, so a lot of the time, she didn't feel so alone always. Bella was MIA, not that Rose was worried. She knew that Bella was sick. Sitting there and just looking around, Rose felt impowered for some strange reason. She looked up and found herself looking up at a Thestral. She had learned about them in her Care of Magical Creatures class. Only people who have seen death can see them. Obviously, Rose had seen death. She has seen a lot more than she has ever wanted to. She stood up and began to stroke the Thestral's head. It placed it's head on her shoulder, and she continued to stroke it. At the moment, she felt at peace. She felt calm and free. For once.

Yumi had to be quiet. She'd come prepared this time to skip lunch and dinner. She'd have to get used to having little to no food for holiday time, when she wouldn't be going home. She wanted to think her head through about this properly. She clambered up the tree, letting climbing be the number one priority within her mind. She stopped, knowing, like Charlie had said, she was running away from the problem. If she wanted to think she'd have to be still. Expertly she gently leapt from where she stood on the tree. Without looking around, she plonked herself down in an unhappy motion. Her head was between her knees. Nothing happened, she didn't know where to start or what to do. Sighing, the unhappy girl rested her head on the tree trunk she was leaning on, straightaway jumping out of her skin when she saw a girl. "Um, hi... sorry... I'll, uh, just leave... sorry to have just...plonked in..." She stuttered and stumbled over her words. She smiled lamely, then moved to leave.

Rose continued to stroke the Thestral when she heard a small noise behind her, like something had fallen. She turned and saw a young girl standing next to a tree. "Um, hi... sorry... I'll, uh, just leave... sorry to have just...plonked in..." she said. Rose smiled in reply to the girls smile. "It's quite alright. I don't mind if you want to stay you know... Company wouldn't be so horrible." She smiled even wider, trying her best to be as friendly as possible. Rose looked the girl up and down. She was pretty. She, Rose, stepped forward and put her hand out. "Rose Knight, 6th year Gryffindor, and new transfer student. It's very nice to meet you." She introduced herself.

"It's quite alright. I don't mind if you want to stay you know... Company wouldn't be so horrible." "Um ... Okay, then..." Yumi wasn't sure what to reply to this. She only had guy friends, and that's the way she liked it. Yumi'd never felt like a normal girl due to her parents, so she wasn't sure how to act around other girls. "Rose Knight, 6th year Gryffindor, and new transfer student. It's very nice to meet you." The girl put her hand out. Yumi shook it and stuttered, "Yumi D-darkRose, 4th year Gryffindor. V-very nice to meet you too ... " Her voice tailed off as she looked at her feet. Making polite converse, she said, "Why are you down here?"

The girl looked at Rose with a puzzled expression. Rose looked back, wondering what could be so confusing. She introduced herself as Yumi Darkrose, a 4th year Gryffindor. They shook hands and Rose smiled. Yumi asked what she was doing down here. Well, the truth was, Rose wasn't all that sure herself. "I guess I just came down here to relax... There's a lot that's been going on with me recently, so I figured I could come here to maybe, just get away from it all. What about you? What are you doing down here?" she asked. She looked back at Yumi, waiting for her response. As she did this, the thestral left. Rose sighed and looked down at the ground. Oh well... He'd be back.

"I guess I just came down here to relax... There's a lot that's been going on with me recently, so I figured I could come here to maybe, just get away from it all. What about you? What are you doing down here?" "Same as you, I suppose, though I doubt you're planning to r- never mind." Shit, she thought, your dad's right, you are an idiot Gryffindor. A tear slid out of her eye and hit her shoe as she thought this. Her father wasn't caring like most people's, nor were her family. They abused her, and have her a deep scar that ran from her temple to her chin, in the face. It was a very visible scar, and if you looked close enough at her arms you'd see lighter but still a bit deep scars, large ones.

Rose smiled as Yumi regarded that they were here for the same reason. But as Rose looked at her, and into her eyes, as she did most people, she saw extreme sadness. Rose saw the tear drop from her eye to her shoe, which made Rose shift into her comforting mother mode. "Why don't you come down here? I have some food." She smiled and as she looked even closer at the young girl before her, she saw something. A scar of some sorts. And it was a bad one. Her sixth sense kicked in, the one about people. That wasn't a normal scar. There was a long and tearful story behind it, and Rose knew that much. As she waited for Yumi to come down, she wished there was something she could do. Something to comfort this hurting girl in front of her. I mmediatly, a red flag rose in her head, reminding her that her motherly instinct had not been so helpful recently. What if she were to hurt Yumi more? Even if it was a accident? It wouldn't be fair. And she didn't know this girl well, so why would she open up to her? Yumi would not let Rose be her mother, and that, Rose knew was for the better.

"Why don't you come down here? I have some food." The younger Gryffindor shook her head from side to side, mumbeling, "'M not hungry ... " But she jumped down anyway. Rose was acting a way Yumi never expected many girls to act to her, nice, and almost motherly. Yumi, however, was not objecting. She didn't mind at all. She never and still didn't have a motherly figure in her life, not even a family type figure. Her family hated her. And she hated her family. A sudden gust of wind blew Yumi's sleeve up, revealing deep scars littering her arms. She pulled the sleeves down ferociously, know the question coming next, or should come next, Who gave you those? A red colour rose in Yumi's cheeks. "Sorry ... " she whispered, staring at the ground, and another tear slid out of her eye.

As a gust of wind blew, it revealed scars on her arm. Rose gasped, without thinking. Yumi apologized and Rose saw yet another tear slide down her face. She almost cried out, she felt so bad. Rose walked toward her, and, instead of asking another question just yet, she pulled Yumi into a comforting hug, hoping it would make things better. Maybe she could help this girl a little... And make sure things wouldn't get out of hand. She held her close, hoping that she would not feel awkward by the comforting gesture. "It's okay..." she whispered. Rose tried her best not to break down herself, as memories flooded her mind of the last time she held someone close like this. But she knew that she had to be strong for her new friend. She couldn't leave her there to suffer on her own. Rose conjured up a box of tissues and passed them to the hurting girl in front of her. "Here."
