PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: One of the most distinctive features that Evelyn has would probably be her hair. The blonde ringlet curls have the tendency to stand out in a crowd. They’re also usually very unruly and full of too much volume. In length, her hair falls a few inches past her shoulders and has never been cut any shorter than that. Another distinctive feature would be Evelyn’s eyes. They’re a very bright blue; especially when she’s out in the sun or any other form of bright light. On most days, a thin line of black, winged liner surrounds them
Most of Evelyn’s other characteristics are fairly normal, boring even. She has very pale skin, no matter how much time she spends out in the sunshine. Evelyn is fairly tall for a girl, standing at five foot eight inches. Despite her height, she’s very tiny. Not curvy in any way. This makes her feel slightly awkward and self conscious in her body at times. It also makes her pretty clumsy, giving her countless stories to tell of times that she has humiliated herself.
When she’s not in her uniform, Evelyn likes to keep her wardrobe pretty simple. She doesn’t enjoy standing out in crowds; she would rather fade into the back. Usually she’ll wear a sweatshirt and skinny jeans or a tee shirt and shorts. Any combination of the four articles of clothing works perfectly for her. Evelyn has always been more interested in her hair and make up than in her clothing.

STRENGTHS: hard-working, loyal, Herbology, charming, sarcasm, sense of humor
WEAKNESSES: shy, awkward, clumsy, potions, charms, lack of experience with the opposite sex,
QUIRKS OR HABITS: Constantly bites her lip and has to make to-do lists.
BOGGART: snake, fear of the creature in general, turns it into a pink, stuffed snake
PATRONUS: The last time her family spent time together before her father left. They went on an old fashion camping trip, swam all day and made s'mores every night. She can think of any moment from the trip. Form of patronous is a rather large cat.
AMORTENTIA: vanilla, peppermint, sugar
LIKES: owls, coffee, sunshine, boys, family, reading, music, dancing, sweatshirts, fuzzy hats or gloves, anything pink, make up, clothing, muggle studies
DISLIKES flirting, cooking, violence, death eaters, snakes, spiders, being talked down to, coffee, waiting, heartbreak, bad hair days
PERSONALITY: Evelyn definitely fits the description of a Hufflepuff. She’s very hard working, especially when it comes to school. It doesn’t come naturally to her, so she spends a lot of time on her homework and studying in order to achieve good grades. Although she tends to be quite shy at times, she is very friendly. She likes to pride herself in her advice giving skills. Being friendly goes along with being loyal. It’s hard for Evelyn to open herself up to other people, so she wouldn’t want to lose that friendship.
Of course Evelyn has other traits than those that relate to being in her house. Once she opens herself up to a person, her sarcastic side shows. She has a fairly good sense of humor and when she’s with her friends, she knows how to laugh at herself. Around strangers though, that ability completely disappears. Embarrassment occurs then. Evelyn is kind to almost everybody she meets and that makes her very naive. She’s used to having positive interactions with people, she is very unsure of how to deal with negative ones.
There is only one thing that really sets off her temper, when people call her rude names. Evelyn has spent a lot of time and effort building up her self confidence. She still hardly has any and she likes to defend what she does have. When she is called a rude name or if somebody talks down to her, it’s almost like a new person takes over. She lets the person know exactly how she’s feeling about what they’ve done and doesn’t back down. It’s a side of her that never usually makes itself known.
When it comes to relationships, Evelyn is very lacking in experience. She feels very pathetic about it, being sixteen years old and not even having her first kiss, but she doesn’t know what to do about it. The moment she gets close to a boy, she backs away because she’s afraid of disappointing him. It's one of many things that she wants to change about herself. As of now, she simply doesn't know how.

FAMILY Gary Thomas Gallant, 42, Lawyer | Amy Lynn Gallant, 41, Healer
HISTORY Evelyn is the only child of Gary and Amy Gallant. The couple had always wanted a large family, but some complications arose and the couple was left with only a single daughter. They didn’t let that stop them from having the successful family they had always dreamed of having. Their daughter hardly ever even had the chance to feel lonely; she was always busy living the experiences that her parents wanted her to have. With her mum a witch and her dad a muggle, she had a nice blend of non magic experiences under her belt. She was such a happy little girl for so long. And then complications arose.
It all started when Evelyn left for school. She was nervous beyond belief and even pretended to be sick the morning before leaving just so that she wouldn't have to go. Her parents quickly talked her into getting on the train and once she was gone, everything felt different. The couple went home and continued to live their life, feelings like something was missing. At school, Evelyn was sorted into Hufflepuff and she couldn't have been happier about it. Everybody seemed to be so friendly and she was almost content. Being at home with her parents was always much better, but she didn't want to cry all day long anymore. Things got even better as years passed by.
As Bellatrix and her crew began to take over the wizarding world, Gary became nervous. Not only for himself, but also for his family. There wasn’t anything magic about him, and his family could pay the price for that. He fought with his wife all the time and even though the couple tried to stop when Evelyn was around, she heard her fair share of arguments and even joined in at times. Gary thought it would be best for him to leave, to wipe his memory if they had to. Amy and Evelyn wanted to hold the only man in their life close. The women were fighting a losing battle.
The summer before Evelyn’s sixth year, Gary did end up leaving. It was the longest summer of Evelyn’s life. Usually, she liked summer time. She had always been a fan of the sunshine and she could be out in it all day long. Summer also meant that she could be home with her family, which always sounded more desirable to her. Unlike most, Hogwarts wasn’t her favorite place. It was nice to be with friends and learn about magic, but Evelyn was shy and it was very hard for her to make friends. In the past, she would have loved it if summer lasted years.
Just not that summer. She spent that summer mourning her own loss and taking care of her mother. As much as she would miss the older woman, she was actually excited to go back to school that year. To get away. Evelyn had learned a lot over the summer and she had grown up so much. Her whole life had been revolved around playing it safe. Camping trips with her parents weren’t going to help her later in life. She needed real experiences. That was her goal for the year. She didn’t know if she would actually be able to accomplish anything. Her fears and insecurities could block the way. But she was willing to try.

ALIAS: Taylor (omg a bird!)
AGE: 18
TIMEZONE: EST
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
If the early mornings and stacks of homework hadn’t already been great enough reminders, the weather outside really let Evelyn know that it was no longer summer time. No more laying outdoors in an unsuccessful attempt at darkening her pale skin and more importantly, no more staying up late until all hours of the night and sleeping in. The sixteen year old had always been a night owl. Unfortunately, school made that almost impossible and she woke up feeling miserable most days. Mornings just weren’t her thing. Never would be.
Dreary days always put the usually cheery girl in a very crabby mood. Mainly because all they did was make her want to sleep and when she finally rolled out of bed, usually not as early as she wanted to, she had to deal with a pile of blond ringlets that she knew would be frizzy the moment the disgusting weather hit them. With this type of weather, she simply threw her hair into some form of up-do, choosing a low pony tail on this particular day. It was very neat, of course. The teen felt awkward enough in her body, she didn’t need to add worrying about her hair to the list.
To make matters worse, her charms professor had given her yesterday and today to ask for help in preparation for the upcoming exam. No matter how much work Evelyn put into charms class, she simply couldn’t succeed. Asking for help would have been no problem if she had been allowed to ask whomever she wanted to, but the person she was supposed to ask had already been chosen for her. Danny Pagan.
Honestly, Evelyn couldn’t remember a single time she had ever said a word to the boy. He just never seemed like he wanted to talk. Not only to her, but to anybody. Since she already had a difficult time talking to other people, she had always decided to save herself the effort. There were plenty other people to have conversations with. Now she had no choice.
Since she had put off the task of asking him all morning, by lunch she decided that she might as well just get it over with. It would feel like a weight had lifted off her shoulders afterwards, right? She sure hoped so. After a quick trip to the great hall, she found out that he was most likely in the library. So, walking as slow as possible without looking absolutely ridiculous, she headed there.
After a brief, polite greeting with the librarian she scanned the library, looking for any sign of him. There was a boy that looked like him, he had an array of supplies all around him and he didn’t seem like he wanted to be disturbed. She approached him slowly, stopping once she was a bit closer and glancing at a shelf of books. Upon closer inspection, the boy was definitely Danny. Now all she had to do was figure out what the hell she was going to say to him.
Instead of over analyzing things, Evelyn decided that if she went right into it she might just know what to say. That worked sometimes. Okay, not really, but it had worked one time and if it worked once it could work again. Before she could begin to argue with herself, she approached him slowly, praying to god that she wouldn’t trip or do something else embarrassing during her approach. ”Danny? Uh, hey. I’m Evelyn, you know… Evelyn in your charms class? ” Why did she always do this to herself, he probably knew her name but she insisted on making herself sound like an idiot. She could already feel her face begin to heat up. God, this was so embarrassing. ”I sort of… well, professor Flitwick told me that I needed a tutor-“ ”And he sort of told me it had to be you…”
