people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open Fingers tangled around the mulberry silk bed covers, desperate to confirm that the bed she lay in was in fact, her own, that she was no longer trapped in her mind, a place where even her worst fears could occur. The fingers delicately reached out to the right side of her, yearning to feel the warmth of a body beside her own. Not just any body, but Keaton’s body, the only flesh that seemed to radiate any warmth. To her, she could not feel comfortable in any others arms but her husband’s, no other body complimented hers as much as Keaton’s did. Wasn’t that how it was meant to be? Wasn’t this how she was meant to feel? That was what she had read in the muggle books at least, the ones she had stashed under her bed and depended on when a restless night dawned upon her.
Continuing to reach out, her palm rested on a muscular chest and a sigh escaped from her pale, pink lips. A wave o relief washed over her and finally, she felt safe to allow her eyelids to flutter open to reveal the brilliant blue orbs. It took a few moments to adjust to the darkness of the master bedroom, to take in the cream walls and the dark curtains draped over the French windows. Drawing back her hand, she turned her head ever so slightly, taking in the appearance of her husband who appeared to be lost in sleep. It didn’t surprise her, she had felt his body slide into bed only hours beforehand, early in the morning. No questions where ever asked of his whereabouts when he didn’t come home to the early of hours of the morning, and while her heart filled with anguish and her head with overwhelming thoughts, she remained silent.
Throwing the covers off her body and using her elbows to support her, she pushed herself up, allowing her long, golden hair to fall down her back. She hesitated for a moment, hoping not to wake Keaton from his sleep and as her eyes fell on the clock that perched on her bedside table, her teeth began to gently chew on her lower lip. Four in the morning, she should’ve been locked peacefully in her slumber but her restless nights became more frequent and she couldn’t understand why. There was only hope that whatever was causing her distress would soon pass her by.
The bare pair of feet touched the wooden floor, and Danielle let her eyes fall to the ground, carefully trying to make her way out of the bedroom without awaking Keaton. Surely, he wouldn’t be pleased to be woken so early in the morning and only having slipped into bed a few hours beforehand. ‘Serves him right’ Her mind told her as she pulled one of Keaton’s shirts over her head before leaving the bedroom and walking down the flight of stairs, reaching the kitchen.
Turning on the lights, she narrowed her eyes, trying to adjust to the brightened room while she walked over to the sink and grabbed a glass, pouring the water into it. Moving to lean over the counter, Danielle took hold of the book she had left on the counter earlier that day and opened at the page she marked, letting the silence overcome her as she read in peace. When Keaton had took the job as Transfiguration teacher he had not expected it to be as much work as it was. Hell, how hard could it be teaching students how to transfigure objects into other objects? Not hard. Right? Wrong. He had no idea that he would eventually have to come up with written homework for them to do, let alone he had to grade. Sigh. Of course he was taking the easy way out and just grading people on how much they wrote rather then how well the homework actually was done. All he wanted to do was get home to his bed and to his beautiful blonde wife who was probably fast asleep by now.
Looking up from the parchment he looked toward his muggle watch which was to help keep track of time. Danielle had bought him it right after he got the job as Deputy Headmaster in a kind of celebration. She knew him to well, and knew that he was bound to get lost in his office late at nights. It was one o'clock, way past the time he had wanted to be stuck in this leather seat leaning on his redwood desk with his chandelier on and his head pounding from to much work. It was time to go home.
Walking out of his office he closed, and locked the door, and headed down the sixth floor corrider. He wouldn't be surprised if he would have run into some student out running around, most knew it was safe on this floor, since Keaton himself use to be one of those students just two years back. That was forever ago. Things had changed though, he wasn't that easy going guy he was then, he had a job to do. And hell, he himself was hoping to start a family soon and it was in his best interest to set an example at the school. Right?
Sure.
Heading down the main staircase, more like a run, Keaton managed to get down to the first floor without having to take a maze with the moving staircases. With a look of a champion he took off out of the building leaving the castle to slowly fade behind him as he made his way off the grounds and threw the gates. Here he looked back at his school then apparated.
Crackle.
With a small crackle Keaton apparated into the living room of his house. His house. Right. He was twenty now, and married. He had his own house, fancy at that, thanks to Danielle's decorating skills. Looking around he still had a hard time grasping that thought. He still seemed to have problems with the fact that he was indeed an adult.
Sitting his office keys down on the end table in the living room he slipped his shoes off and left them under it as he headed up the stairs and into the bathroom to dress down and get ready for bed. The last thing he wanted to do was wake up his wife. Although she wasn't aware that he knew it, Keaton was aware of her recent restlessness, and even though he wanted to know what was going on he knew better then to ask. Danielle would talk when she felt like it.
Sneaking into the master bedroom he walked to her side of the bed. Pulling the covers over her that she had kicked off, like every other night, he leaned down and kissed her on the forehead as he whispered, "I love you Mrs. Flint," and he climbed into bed himself.
What seemed like only minutes later Keaton felt a movement in bed and instinctivly kept his eyes closed. He knew his wife always tried to keep quiet as to not wake up. He felt her touch his chest then moments later climb out. Keeping his eyes sewed closed he waited to hear her footsteps lightly on the stairs. As soon as he did his eyes flew open. Looking around he found the clock. Four o'clock. He had only been home for about three hours. Sighing he rolled out of bed, in his boxers, and let his own bare feet hit the wood floor.
Creeping down the steps he turned the corner and stopped as he watched her. She was reading. At his hour. Shaking his head he turned the corner and leaned up against the counter looking at her back. Poking her gently in the back he said, "Can't sleep again Mrs. Flint?" Keaton was worried about her, and he really wanted to understand what was going on, but as he studied her he realized that she herself probably didn't even know that answer.

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open Married life hadn’t been everything people made it out to be. Ironically, the young woman had half expected arguments, fall-outs and some serious drama during the first year of marriage but much to her luck it had been quite the opposite. Danielle knew Keaton, like the back of her own hand. He enjoyed single life, he loved sex and he adored knowing he had girls falling for him left, right and centre. Marriage was a big step. No, it wasn’t a step, it was a leap and Danielle couldn’t ask him to change for her but nevertheless he did. Her mother would consistently tell her that she had to work in a marriage and her father would say it takes two to make it work. Funny enough, in the year of their marriage everything seemed blissful, and although the honeymoon period lasts a few months, for Keaton and Danielle it was a whole year period. For once, she felt content with her life, with her home and especially with her relationship.
But there was always something lingering in the back of her mind, doubt and worry. Who could blame her? Danielle had grown up in a fractured family, both parents constantly eating eachother's heads off, there was never a night when peace prevailed. Even arguments with her brothers sent the house into an uproar. All this resulting in why she'd been a hard shell to break through, why tough love was a literal term and why she was able to deal with Keaton so well. During Hogwarts, she was the one girl who fought back against his teasing, she kept the strong refusal to give in when he began his regular picking. Being so determined it usually landed the two either in detention or the hospital wing. Nothing every seemed to go right, until their engagement. But even then, it took an incredible amount of persuasion to give Keaton the chance especially after their argument in the great hall where everything that could have been argued about was blurted out, things like how hell seemed welcoming than a life together but yet, they found eachother alluring and at least their children would be good looking.
Children. The one thing that slipped in and out of Danielle's mind with each passing day. She knew her husband was eager to start a family and while she was more than obligated to have a child of her very own, the fear of motherhood ate away her every confidence. What if she was a bad mother? What if her child grew up to hate her? What if the pressure got to her? Danielle was sure that these pondering questions occurred all the time, but the fear still remained. She was losing her confidence with each passing day and no one was aware. Sometimes she would sum her restless nights all down to the overload of thoughts.
Reaching down, she rested a hand on her midsection with a frown crawling onto her lips. Danielle hadn't been purposely going out of her way to fall pregnant, she believed if it was meant to be then she'd carry a child. Perhaps she needed to push her morals aside and focus on what really mattered. Looking at the life she led, luck was clearly on her side. She had a great job, fancy home and a wonderful husband who loyally stayed by her side. Danielle had met plenty of women on the other side of the playing board. To think, women envied her ways of life. How could she ask for anything else? She didn't want to be greedy and she certainly didn't want to put her luck to chance...
With a sigh, her fingers turned the pages of the book while her cerulean blue eyes lazily trailed over the words, not exactly registering them. It was pointless, but she'd much rather tire her eyes out from scanning over continuous sentences than lie in bed for countless of hours until the sun peeked through the curtains, just like it did every other morning. And like every morning, the routine was the same, get up, get a shower and ready for work and use the fireplace to floo her way there. Maybe tomorrow she'd change the routine and take the day off just to rest and find the time to relax, if that was even possible. Nights upon nights, she'd pull the sheets off her sweating body and make her way for the kitchen or the bathroom where she'd either make herself tea or take a bath.
Taking hold of the glass of water, she slowly brought it to her dry lips and took a small sip of the liquid, feeling her lips soften. Just as the glass was placed back on the counter she felt a gentle poke on her back, causing her heart to skip a beat but also to whip her head round in her husband's direction. Swallowing, she stared at him in silence before inhaling a long breath, “Did I wake you?” A frown greeted her lips, taking in his sleepy appearance. “You should go back to bed, sweetheart. I'm just feeling rather restless and running a temperature again. I don't want you to catch anything.” Forcing a soft smile, she averted her gaze back to the book that grasped very little of her interest. TAGGED ! Keaton stayed leaning against the counter staring at his wife's back for moments. He took the brief moments that he could to look around his house. The open floor plan really made the place seem bigger to him then it actually was. The kitchen, dining room, and living room all flowed into one big, large room, allowing nights such as these to work out better instead of him having to attempt to watch his wife through walls. It allowed him to do just what he had done and sneak up on her and give him the chance to admire her, in their house. Everything seemed to be going well for Keaton for once in his life...almost. There were still two issues.
Issue one. Something was bothering Dani and whether she knew what it was or not, it was affecting her. He hated knowing she was restless, he hated not knowing what was wrong so he could fix it. He sometimes had a feeling that she didn't completely trust him. What with his bad rep and all; and still he was around all those girls that had once thrown themselves at him and jumped into his bed at Hogwarts. Things were different now though. Danielle was his life. He loved her with everything he was and had. He would have gave up anything just to have her in his life. The fact that if it hadnt' been for the arranged marriage that he may never had learn to love and feel this way scared him. They had always known each other but Keaton may not have looked at Danielle his future. So his parents got one point for that one.
Danielle was perfect. She was beautiful, a goddess. She was sweet, charming, and yet she had a fiery side that always kept him interested. There was never a dull moment around her. Just that thought made him smile. It was true what his parents had told him, the two would make the cutest children with both their good looks.
Issue two. His family. He hadn't heard from them since after they got back from their honeymoon. Hadn't they wanted the marriage? He wasn't sure what was wrong, but yet he didn't fully care. He knew though that Dani had must have picked up on this. The Flint's were always a close nit family and now they had went poof. Maybe they hadn't expected him to actually love her. After all his parents weren't really in love, that had also been an arranged marriage and they had to learn to make it work just as friends.
It took a brief moment of thought before the real reason of why his parents were not talking to him came to his mind. It wasn't the marriage at all. Once they got back he had took the job as a Professor at school and the job as Deputy headmaster of Hogwarts. His family had always wanted him to continue with the Death Eater work and infiltrate the ministry as a ministry official. Just in case. He almost laughed. They were mad that he wasn't following threw with their plans for him and that he was actually making a decent life for him and his future family. Oh well.
Looking around at his house he could easily see a little girl with his black hair and Danielle's beautiful eyes running around causing chaos. He snickered at this. Even though this thought should have scared him he loved the idea of having kids. He wanted to have kids, he wanted to watch them grow, to teach them, and to have them wreck the house.
It was with this thought that Danielle spoke and shook him out of his thoughts. Shaking his head in response to her first statement he tried to hide the fact that she had indeed woke him up; however, his wife knew better then that. What she didn't know was that he also had been restless, mainly because he was worried about her and like to know when she woke up. This was the first he actually approached her rather then just spied on her.
Rolling his eyes playfully at her he said, "I was restless myself," he said as he stood up from leaning on the counter and walked around into the kitchen. Stopping in front of her he took the book and sat it down on the counter looking to her eyes. "I'm not scared of getting sick Mrs. Flint, I'm a big boy," and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight and close to him.

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open The cobalt blue eyes darted towards the window, looking for...something. Honestly, she didn’t know what she was looking for, hope perhaps? The dark charcoal covered the sky like a sheet, fighting to keep the world in darkness. Danielle knew the feeling all too well, she felt suffocated and trapped. All these expectations that where forced upon her, constantly lurked behind, reminding her daily of what was needed, what other people wanted. Then it dawned on her that it wasn’t about making up for other people’s mistakes, it was about her and what she wanted. The same feeling occurred when she got the letter that quite literally changed her life, for the better.
The day she received a letter from her mother, her heart had been stuck in her throat. It was odd, even before she tore open the envelope that revealed her worst fear at the time, she had the gut-wrenching feeling, and her head screamed warnings while her heart progressively built a wall of courage. Perhaps on her best days the sorting hat should have reconsidered her position in the Ravenclaw house. Sure, she was bright and logical but a great part of her was also courageous and put others before herself, didn’t that award her a place in Gryffindor? Funnily, on her worst days, the days when she’d feel like death warmed up and didn’t hold back on her feelings she’d give Salazar Slytherin a run for his galleons. There was no doubt in hell that the blonde was a ticking time bomb, no one other than herself could predict how’d she’d react or what she’d do next.
The scary thing was, her mother knew Danielle better than she even knew herself. Keaton Flint as her husband, to have and to hold, really, she wouldn’t have touched him with a ten foot pole. Immediately the thought of a ball and chain would’ve came to her mind. Even thinking back to her immature self brought a grin to her lips. Now, he was her everything, she needed those muscular arms around her to feel protected, she needed his lips upon her soft skin to give her peace, she needed to hear his voice to it know was real, and overall she needed him to know love.
To know love meant knowing Keaton. He was her other half, and Danielle possibly knew him better than his own mother. She’d seen him at his worst and his best and she had every intention to see much more of those all new highs and lows. Preferably the highs. Nor had she failed to notice his lack of community with his family. At first she had assumed the family had decided to give Keaton and Danielle space to adjust to their new lifestyle together. What they didn’t know was that the two fell into perfect harmony even before their marriage and in all honesty, Danielle missed her in-laws as odd as it may have sounded. The very fact that the Flint’s where a close family, it was everything she admired. Something she yearned for.
Tearing her eyes away from the darkened sky, a soft sigh escaped her lips. Here she was again. It was beginning to become a routine and she couldn’t figure out why. The only logic to the restlessness and the temperatures was an illness. Then again it could all be down to her sleeping patterns…but a fever. It was the only thing that was leading her to believe that she was coming down with the something. Lifting the glass, she held it to her head for a moment in an attempt to cool the burning down.
Pulling the glass away from her forehead and setting it back down in its former position, she stared steadily at her husband. A frown still forming on her lips. “I’m sorry, Keaton.” The words managed to slide out of her mouth, despite no verbal response to the answer, she knew that she had.
He spoke and she listened, making sure not to skip a single word. “And why would you be restless?” Danielle questioned as she could feel her eyebrow raise ever so slightly. Already she had guessed that his words had only been an attempt to make her feel better and less guilty for waking him up at this early hour, especially since he had only arrived home a few hours beforehand to which she had heard perfectly, ‘I love you, Mrs. Flint’ Stuck in her head and she could repeat it over in her head to offer comfort.
“You may not be scared of you getting sick but I am. I wouldn’t want it holding you back from your duties.” Danielle’s tone remained soft as her arms instantly slipped over his shoulders and her head fitted perfectly on his shoulder. Now this, this brought true comfort to her. TAGGED ! keaton.LYRICS ! somewhere only we know - keaneWORDS ! i have no idea??OUTFIT ! coming soon!CREDIT ! Everything that the young man was currently doing was to build a better life for him and Danielle. He hadn't had the worst childhood, but yet to him he didn't feel like he had the best. Only those on the inside knew the truth of the Flint family and what his father had done to him. No one. Well, except for the angel standing in his arms of course. Marcus Flint scared the living hell out of him. It was for this fact that Keaton wasn't complaining that his parents had not dropped in for a surprise visit to see how the married couple was doing. Let alone he had honestly believed by now that his parents would have tried urging them to start trying for a baby.
Ah, a baby! The thought scared Keaton, yet he did like the idea of one. He liked the thought of having someone to raise to teach to watch grow and know that he was the one who helped create that little life. There was still the part of him that was scared of the thought of having a baby, someone who could only rely on him and Dani for everything. Let alone the simple fact that this kid was bound to give them headaches. What was it that adults said, that his kids would be ten times worse then him? Well, if that was the case Dani and him were going to have their hands full because was a young troublemaker. Then again maybe the child would turn out to be more like his beautiful wife. She seemed a bit more composed then Keaton had ever been. She had great qualities that he would love to get passed on to his children. She was one tough girl, and even put in the worst situations she could hold her head up, like say, having an arranged marriage with schools top bad boy.
Yes. He wanted kids. He had officially decided upon that. Even if they were bound to give him headaches and probably even heart attacks he wanted them. Never in a million years did he think that he would ever want such a thing. Just a few years back he was determined he was never going to marry the single life to him was just so much better. He could do what he wanted, with who he wanted, whenever he wanted and didn't have to worry about watching these actions. Then along came Danielle and her stubborness totally stole his heart. Now here he was wanting kids, married, and completley and madly in love.
No, he had never seen this one coming.
Keaton could clearly remember when his friends and fellow Slytherins found out about his engagement. They had all been in utter shock that nobody spoke for at least ten minutes. They just sat there in the common room staring at him dumb founded. Today he wished he would have took pictures of it, it would have been a priceless picture to have from the old days.
Oh the old days now seemed so far away, so far out of reach. But surprisingly Keaton was okay with that. The only thing he wanted to reach out and touch was his future. Yes, Keaton Daniel Flint was starting to embrace his future.
Scary!
When his wife apologized to him he shook his head. "Theres nothing to be sorry for my love," he said holding her close to him. He had previously watched her put a glass to her forehead, he knew she wasn't feeling good. This was what made him restless. This simple fact that something was wrong with her, that maybe she was having a serious health issue.
Indeed he probably should have been worried about catching whatever she had came down with, definetly with his job. But when he married her he had vowed to take care of her and he was going to stick to that no matter what. Dani had taught him how to be stubborn and he wasn't going to budge.
Reaching up with his right hand he let it rest on her forehead. He could remember his own mother doing this to him as a child. It was the easiest way to see if their was a fever. Sure enough Danielle was burning up. Worry immediatly crossed his face. Taking her in his arms he scooped her up and cradled her. Kissing her forehead he said, "My job is being your husband, and that means taking care of you so shut up," he said teasingly.
Walking toward the living room he left the lights off and gently laid her down on the couch. "Stay right there like a good girl and don't move," he told her as he ran off toward the bathroom. There he grabbed a towel and ran it under cold water. Once it felt cool enough to him he walked to the tub and turned it on filling it with a little bit less heat then luke warm water had. As he let it fill he walked back over to the couch, placed the towel on her forehead and said, "Your going to be a good girl for me and allow me to get you in a cool bath, and while your there I am going to go find the doctor," he said as picked her up and carried her into the bathroom. There he sat her down on the floor and started to undress her.
Thankfully, due to his many pleads of wanting a big bath tub in both their bathrooms they had a spa like tub, big enough for her to relax comfortably in. Once his wife was fully exposed he picked her back up and sat her in the tub. Looking at her with the same worry in his eyes that had crossed his face in the kitchen he waited for her response before he decided to apparate to the hospital to grab a doctor and bring him back to the house. He was going to try to make it seem like she had a choice in the matter, but Keaton was determined to find out that night what was wrong with his wife, no matter how much she protested. He was taking control now and she was going to have to just deal with it, because he knew that if it was him she was bound to do the same thing. His job could wait. He had much more important things to worry about.
Plus in all honesty he did not want to return to the school anytime soon. Not after the recent events. Peyton was one of his closest friends in school and he was one of the first to find out she was a vamp because she needed some help. Now he owed her for all those times he got her blood from Jack's office. Way back when he was a third year he had done his usual thing with Bonnie, a Gryffindor. She was cute so he didn't care about the house she was in. Now it seemed the poor girl wanted revenge on him for playing her and by doing this she kept making random late night calls to his office and no matter how much he tried to get her to stop it never worked. He knew he needed to tell Dani about this, definetly since the girls goal was to ruin his marriage; but tonight was not the night and he wasn't going to mention it until she was better.
Crossing his arms over his chest he looked at her seriously in a sign that he was not going to give in to her pleads if she tried to stop him from going to get a doctor. He dared her to challenge him on this. Then his mouth opened and before he could stop the words from spilling out he said, "Your not pregnant are you?" he hadn't meant to actually ask this, but his thoughts seemed to be forming all possible illnesses that could be causing Danielles distress, and with all the recent thought about having kids he couldn't stop it from coming out.

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open Everything would be fine, it had to be. It had always been that way, no matter what problems darted in their direction, both successfully managed to dodge out of troubles path. Danielle couldn’t bare to imagine the thought of something happening that would cause their close-to-perfect lives to upturn and fall into a pit of chaos and disaster. Had it been that she’d taken things for granted? No. She’d always made sure to be grateful for what she’d been given. How could she not be? Here she stood in a kitchen, her kitchen in her house, with her husband. It was hard not to appreciate what had been given to her on a silver platter while others struggled to make it through day to day routines.
Silently, the blonde contemplated on whether she had been too lucky throughout her life. Maybe it was time to pay back for all those blissful times. She’d hate to believe it, but the possibility was always there. Of course it was a terrifying thought but sometimes people had to prepare themselves for the worst. Although, the worst part hadn’t came. Not yet, because Danielle knew, she knew in the pit of her stomach what was going on but she just couldn‘t find the courage or ability to voice her problems. There would be a time when she’d have the strength to tell Keaton, and while he had every right to know the problems she was facing, she needed the time to understand why this was happening before she even attempted to console her husband. Part of her feared how he’d react to it all and how it would affect them. Danielle was hesitant, she’d considered keeping things to herself, realizing no good may never come from telling him, but honesty was the best policy, right?
Swallowing back her fear, her fingers played with the hem of the oversized shirt she wore, Keaton’s shirt. Bringing the collar of the shirt to her nose, she inhaled his scent and everything felt a little better, a little easier. A smile could have easily graced her lips, and it did but it was barely visible. It was only for her to be aware of. See, he made everything better. And no this wasn’t a soppy love story, she wasn’t about to express her never dying love for her other half. He wasn’t just her husband, but her best friend and that’s what she needed at times like these. So no, maybe she couldn’t tell her husband about the current problems, but she could always tell her best friend.
Danielle’s fingers roamed over the back of his neck, occasionally tangling them through his dark head of hair, revelling in the feeling of his body held against her. His very touch sent bolts of electricity through her fragile body, her heart pulsed like an 808 drum and despite her burning temperature, his skin upon hers burned with intense heat. This was the only touch she longed for.
“I have lots of things to be sorry for…” Danielle braced herself, pulling her head back from his shoulder to keep her gaze upon his, “Firstly, I’m sorry for waking you, because I did. I’m sorry that because of this you’re lacking sleep and you need all the energy you can get being a Deputy. I’m also sorry to have you worrying, and I can tell your worried but you don’t need to be. I’ll be fine, Keaton.” Leaning up on her toes, she brought her lips to the tip of his nose and slowly fell back down to her feet. Her arms still locked around his chest, not entirely prepared to let just yet.
“Keaton, please don’t.” With her small hand, she tried to reach up to grab his as it rested upon her forehead, realizing how high her temperature was running. For a moment, her fingers glided over his hand but surely he moved his hand away to quickly and before she could grasp hold of what was happening, Keaton had scooped her up into his arms. For the first time, Danielle didn’t reject or try to fight it. In defeat, her head rested against his chest and she heaved a long sigh, knowing that her protest would be useless and sometimes it was just better to let her husband win. “Yes, your are my husband. You have no idea how grateful I am for that single fact.” Danielle allowed her eyes to close over momentarily, content to listen to his own steady breath.
Feeling her back make contact with the couch, at first she attempted to pull herself forward only to be shot back down with her husband’s words. Nor did he give her any time to argue back, she had no idea what he had in mind but she was sure that what she had came down with would pass by eventually. However, she wouldn’t mind being treated if that was what he was offering. The last thing she wanted though was to take Keaton away from his job. She never felt the need to compete with his job, as long as he arrived home at night and slipped in to bed beside her, she would find no reason to despise his job. She heard that the time apart would do wonders for them, making them a little more appreciative when they came home to each other.
The silence never lasted long, the water from the upstairs bathroom came down like thunder, she could hear the bath tub filling up and once again a smile graced her lips. Her eyes fluttered open when the footsteps approached her and she gazed up at Keaton, absorbing his every word as the towel was placed on her forehead. “Keaton, no doctor.” Danielle said firmly as he took her into his arms once again and led her upstairs. A doctor at this hour in the morning was unnecessary, she was sure she’d be able to reassure him to come back to bed soon enough. That was what she hoped in the least.
Danielle allowed Keaton to assist her on removing the very little clothing that she had covering her bare skin. The shirt and the underwear had easily been unbuttoned and slipped off and pushed to the side while she slipped into the bath. The moment the cool water made contact with her bare skin, her hand gently clutched onto he husband’s arm, as a sharp gasp filled the room. It didn’t take too long to adjust to the water and she perched herself up in the bathtub, her eyes still stuck on Keaton’s own pair. “It’s late, love. Too late to be getting a doctor here. If it means so much to you I’ll go to St. Mungo’s first thing in the morning. At a reasonable hour.” A damp finger delicately trailed over the side of the tub and she quickly gulped, breaking eye contact. “It’s only a fever, it will pass. You’ve had fevers before, sweetheart. You know how it is.”
The serious expression painted onto his flawless face gave Danielle the sudden want to sink lower into the tub, but as she licked her lips, her eyes fell on his again. She could never break sight of him for too long, in fear he might just disappear. It felt as everything may have froze, the hand on the clock had stopped and for a moment her breath came to a halt. “Pregnant?” Dani managed to repeat, her heart sinking. “I’m not sure, but if I was I’m sure what I’m experiencing right now could possibly be a miscarriage.” It was only then she felt she could move her gaze away, allowing it to fall onto her manicured nails, no longer holding back on her breath. At this point in the night Keaton's mind was going off in a million different directions, so was his choice of what to do. If only he knew for sure what was going on that would have helped him figure this out and what to do at such a late hour in the night. His mind was spinning and he needed to stop it before he actually went insane with everything going on.
Taking a deep breath he stayed by the bath tub's side as he eyed Danielle curiously and worriedly. For some reason something in his gut was telling him that there was something she was not telling him, it was as if maybe she knew what was wrong or believed she knew? He couldn't quite put two and two together but he knew he had to pursue this gut feeling.
No. He wasn't going to. She would tell him, wouldn't she? If something was seriously wrong she would have told him, right?
No. Maybe not. He needed to ask her he knew that. 'You sound like a chicken Keaton,' his mind said to him as it laughed as if mocking him for this. 'She's only your wife!' Shaking his head he tried to get the voice in his head to shut up. It needed to before he started actually answering the voice out loud, then he would have Danielle worried if he started doing this.
Taking in another deep breath he sad down on the edge of the tub reach out for her hand. Right now all he wanted was some type of contact with her body and let her know that he was still there and that he was going to help her get better no matter what. He was stubborn and determined right now and no matter how much she tried to change his thoughts or his decisions on what to do he wasn't going to budge if he believed it was the right decision for them. If anything bad ever happened to her, oh he wouldn't know what to do. He would lose it. Officially. This girl was his life, she had his heart! He was even almost tempted to take off his boxers, or leave them on, and join her in the cool bath. He hated having to put her in it alone but he knew that her temperature needed to come down before it got even higher then it already was.
Shaking his head at her he was still in disbelief. Just moments before, back in the kitchen she had kept trying to apologize. Had she not realized that his job didn't matter that much to him. What mattered was taking care of her and making sure she got better, nothing else. This part frustrated him. Keaton had always known that she didn't want to come between him and his work, and in a way he understood why she was like that but she had to realize that things were more important and those things were her. "First off missy you need to stop trying to apologize. I don't care that you woke me, I'm a big boy like I said, sleep is overrated anyway. And your not fine, your burning up and something is wrong.." with this point he trailed off still not sure what to do next. "You need to open up to me, I love you, and I'm here no matter what is going on, just please talk to me," he finally managed to say.
Everything fell silent suddenly. Keaton wasn't even sure he had heard what she had said right, let alone what to do. It was as if well he had died and left his body. He starred at her as his arm that was balancing him and keeping him from falling over into the tub slipped and he felt his whole body tilting over. He couldn't move fast enough to catch himself and before he knew anything he felt a cool wave of water cover his head. Which maybe at that point was a good thing for it snapped him out of his frozen state. Sitting up, soaked, and in the tub now with her he shook his head as the water went flying from his hair. Now he laughed at his stupidity as he looked at her. "Sorry about that," he said as he could feel his face go red.
Soaking he stood up and went jumping out of the tub, still not responding to what she had said, his actions told all. Except, jumping out of the tub wasn't the smartest decision because once more he felt his balance wavering on the slippery floor from the water and he felt himself falling and falling and falling until his butt hid the ground hard. Standing up quickly he looked at her finally. "No, no," was all he could say, the reality still having a hard time coming to him. "No doctor."
He had finally decided what his action was going to be. Holding up a finger he walked out of the bathroom into the hall and apparated.
Crackle.
Within moments he was where he wanted to be explaining what was going on.
Crackle.
And within another few minutes he was back with a lady on his side. She had light colored skin and long dark hair. She was pretty. Keaton hadn't wanted to approach his family like how he just had, but he couldn't see what else he could do. He led his Aunt (who was just his mom's bestfriend and a healer) into the bathroom and pushed her toward the tub where Dani was, still dripping wet only his boxers. "Fix them," was all he said as he himself jumped back into the tub and grabbed Dani's hand not even realizing that he said them instead of her. Because even though he wasn't the one who was dealing with it he had a good feeling that it was a them.
At this point he felt like he needed to actually say something comforting to his wife, but he was in so much shock still that he was afraid of saying something wrong but his insides were screaming, 'No not my daughter!' and even though he wasn't sure exactly if this was going to end bad or good he squeezed Danielle's hand. Looking at her he lifted her chin up so that she was directly looking at him, looking her in the eyes he said, "If you are pregnant our daughter is one tough little being and will be just fine, and if not, then we got to believe it was for the best," he told her. And for the first time in his life Keaton really felt like he was an adult and felt like he was actually acting like one. From here he let his Aunt begin to examine her.
Waiting though as his Aunt started asking questions and feeling her forehead was making Keaton impatient. Wasn't there a better way to know what was happening. Finally he couldn't take it any longer, and it was apparant to his Aunt and he was asked to leave the bathroom. So he left. Quietly. Yet, leaving wasn't helping his patience any at all either. So here he found himself pacing back and forth down the hall, down the stairs, into the kitchen, back up the stairs and back down the hall. Repeatedly. Finally the door opened. His Aunt nodded to him and said, "This is just the beginning, she needs to rest, I suggest you make sure she does, I'll be back tomorrow,"
and with that she was gone with a small crackle. Standing in the hall, finally dried, he was scared to walk into that bathroom. Slowly and carefully he took preciesly small steps into the bathroom where he paused briefly at the door and seen his wife. Taking one last deep breath he walked all the way to the tub and got on his knees outside of it and put his hand on her shoulder. Quiet. There was not a sound to be heard until finally he let out his breath and kissed her on the cheek then finally asked, "Are you okay?"[/blockquote][/blockquote] NOTES: Yay! people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open This wasn’t how things where meant to be. But then again, none of this was meant to be happening. Danielle shouldn’t have sat in a bathtub in her own home with her husband, who was once her enemy, worrying over her. She was only nineteen and already found herself locked in a permanent job at the Ministry. There had been the safest option. With everything that had been taken into consideration, she realized that everything did happen for a reason. This was happening for a reason.
Steadying her breathing, her head rested against the side on the tub, staring up at Keaton. The worry was evident in his features, it was almost basic instinct for him to feel the need to help. However, to help you usually needed to know what was wrong. She wanted nothing more than to pour her heart out to her husband, shed every ounce of worry and push everything off her shoulder, but she was doing this for him. The purpose of keeping him in the dark was to prevent him from worrying or feel disappointed by the outcome, and the only feelings that overwhelmed him was worry. Pointless.
Danielle had every intention of discussing the situation to her spouse, she had tried to buy time to figure out how she would break the news, but most importantly, she held off in case of incidents like this happened. Now this was something, if she had the chance to keep hidden she would. No pleasure would come from telling Keaton, and certainly no pleasure came from showing him. Why didn’t anything ever go to plan? Just for once, she’d much rather prefer something to go according to the plan.
The plan was…simple. It was only in moments like these that it dawned on her that nothing was simple. Especially not keeping something as vital as what she held dear from her husband. Danielle didn’t want to be selfish and keep the information to herself and yes, she knew how much it would’ve meant to Keaton. That was just it though. How much it meant to Keaton was what frightened her most. To disappoint him in slightest would damage her in some way, if her current situation didn’t get to it first. How long could she possibly expect to keep it under wraps? What would happen when she started getting slightly more plumper, her sickness becoming more frequent and her moods that could work up a storm from hell. Keaton wasn’t stupid, sooner or later he’d come to notice and there was nothing she could do to prevent it.
Trust. It was something Danielle had devoted to Keaton. She trusted him with her life, but in return she hoped he offered her the same. If he had, he’d trust her with the truth and that it was all for a good reason, or so she thought. Being honest with him could open a whole can of worms she’d much rather keep sealed for now. Letting everything pour at out once could be disastrous, not to mention, it may just add a shit load of stress she didn’t need. All of it could lead to one unnecessary but impending break down. No doubt she’d have Keaton running for the hills by the end of the year. She heard that was all it took for a couple to find out if they where compatible for each other or not. Safe to say, Danielle and Keaton have officially been together for two years and with marriage they’ve been coping splendidly. But when Keaton pleaded for her to just talk to him, guilt ridden all she could say was, ‘I do. I will…when the times right.’ Would the time ever be right?
Danielle braced herself as the silence drowned everything between them. Her heart raced uncontrollably as she watched, her mind pondering and her breath shortened. Just as her lips parted to speak, a swift movement and Keaton was in the tub with her. The cool water washed up against her sink as the extra weight caused the level to raise and while the shock on his face would normally cause a laugh to leave her lips, she remained overwhelmed with silence. With her lips still parted in surprise at the sudden splash, she leaned forward slightly, making sure everything was fine. It was a sudden drop, anything could have possibly happened. However as his head pushed above the water’s surface, and his face heated up, a little reassurance was found.
Once again Danielle parted her lips to warn him not to jump out of the tub too quickly, but instead Keaton bolted out and within seconds he fell crashing to the floor, and since what seemed like forever, Danielle laughed to herself. This wasn’t the time to laugh, but his hasty actions could bring nothing else other than laughter. But as quickly as it left her lips, it trailed off until it came to an abrupt halt and her blue eyes gazed up at him. It was clear he was unsettled, and deep in thought, plotting his next action. Danielle felt grateful that he agreed not to summon a doctor, and yet he still moved out of the bathroom and from what she heard, apparated.
Her heart sank and slowly her eyes fell closed, inhaling deep breaths with a hand rested on her midsection. She needed to prepare herself. The last thing she needed was to get her hopes up for all the disappointment to smack her in the face. It’s happened before and it wasn’t particularly pleasant. Using her finger, she trailed it delicately over her stomach and almost instantly a wave of calmness made everything feel better, it made her feel better. The cool water helped with the temperature, she was sure it was a contributing factor seeing as when she swiped the back of her hand across her forehead, it wasn’t as hot compared to earlier. Finally, something was looking up.
Then she heard that familiar ‘pop’ and her eyes fluttered open once again, turning her head to the side and waiting patiently until Keaton showed his face. Where did he go? She had only expected to see Keaton so when a dark haired woman entered the bathroom, she formed a sigh. She hadn’t just been any woman, she was Keaton’s aunt and it wasn’t everyday that Danielle remembered a face, but she specifically remembered her because she attended their wedding, and set in the second aisle closest to the alter. Swallowing, she kept her eyes on her husband as he jumped back into the tub, ‘Fix them,’ that could have set off a thousand tear drops. It was a good thing that another woman occupied the room or the tears would’ve been cascading down her cheeks.
Just as her eyes averted their gaze, a gentle hand squeezed hers while his free hand perched under her chin, forcing her eyes to fall upon his once again. There wasn’t a doubt in hell that Keaton had his way with words, the first time he told her he loved her on the astronomy tower almost led her to breakdown, when he proposed she came close to sobbing and when he spoke his wedding vows, she fought to stop herself from bawling, no one wanted to see a mascara stained bride. Catching her breath, she nodded and leaned forward, pecking his lips, “For the best.”
Leaning back, Danielle sat patiently as Keaton’s aunt began to examine her. The woman’s warm hands could’ve increased her boiling temperature but she didn’t complain, instead answered all the questions that had been asked. She didn’t take much notice as her husband left the two women alone in the bathroom. ‘It may be hard to believe, but this is very common, Danielle. However , sadly the fever does increase the chances of a miscarriage.’ No matter how much she knew, the pill was hard to swallow. Hearing her fears confirmed made it all that worse. A frown appeared while she nodded, understanding the situation at hand.
Thanking her, Danielle watched as she took her leave and managed to force a small smile for Keaton as he re-entered the bathroom and approached her, kneeling beside the tub. “I told you, I’m okay. Nothing I wont get over.” Her words remained soft and gentle while she reached out and caressed his cheek, “You should get dried off and go to bed. Wouldn’t want you getting a cold. The last thing you need is catching a cold and having to get up early for work.”

After asking the question, Keaton was sure if he was ready for the answer, either way it came out. If she was pregnant he could deal with that, but he wasn't sure he could deal with the fact that they may have lost the baby. If she wasn't and it was much worse Keaton would feel like his whole world is falling apart, because he could never watch something bad happen to his wife. Never. Let alone he didn't want to watch her suffer or be hurt.
Sitting on the cold tile floor of the bathroom he just looked at his wife. The worry was still evident in his eyes, but a lot of he tried to hide from her. Maybe she would be more open to talk if he didn't show so much emotion as he had been since he found her in the kitchen. Yes, maybe that would work. So plastering a small smile on his face he pushed a strand of her blonde hair away from her eyes. He could do this, he so could.
His Aunt had said she would be back, which meant there was something for him to worry about. Whether it was good or bad he wasn't sure. Was Dani pregnant and she just wanted to make sure that they kept the fever down for her and the baby's sake or was she really sick? That question lingered in his mind as he just looked upon her.
Sitting there waiting for her to speak he tried to keep his smile on his face and the worry hidden. However as time passed his patience was running out. They said patience was a virtue, but it was clearly one that he was lacking at that moment. All he wanted to know was if his wife was okay or would be okay. God, if anything happened to her..he would...he would...die.
She spoke. Right. He got it, she said she was going to be okay. Let it drop, that is what he should have done; however that was something he wasn't going to do at that moment. Again though she spoke telling him to go dry off and go to bed. Right. That he wasn't doing either.
Keaton shook his head uncontrollably for a few moments. No he wasn't moving not from the bathroom floor, not until she actually told him what was going on. Usually he would have just let it go; however, this was one circumstance that he was not going to let drop. His wife was going to have to talk to him, thats what they do in marriages. If you don't talk to the other then soon marriages end up like his parents, a broken marriage that is only still together for the kids. And that was not going to happen to his marriage whether Danielle liked it or not.
"No, if I get sick I get sick. I'm a big boy," he said still shaking his head, " As for work I'm not going unless you open up and talk to me," he finished with another one of those looks saying he was not going to budge.
Determination ran in the Flint family. It was in his blood. He was stubborn and determined. And Danielle should know by now that when he decided something it was going to stick to it, no matter what.

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open Gulping down every worry, she realized the pill was much harder to swallow. How was anyone ever expected to deal with situations like these because right now, Danielle needed that reassurance. Everything would be fine, either way they'd manage to get through it and in a month's time they'd be smiling, laughing and goofing around like no such pain ever tainted them. She'd seen many women, too much for that matter, experience pain that she had once thought didn't even exist. There had never been a moment when she stopped herself to wonder if happenings such as what those women had went through would ever knock her down, how could she ever overcome such hurt, such a hit that could break her all over? Even the thought of it all caused the frown on her pale pink lips to deepened and her body to slump further into the bath, her bare back sliding further down the tub until the cold water slammed against her neck.
The softened blue orbs flickered towards the handsome man who sat on the cold tiled floor, lost in thought as Danielle's eyes scanned every feature. His worry-free look would have been believable if she hadn't known him so well, that to die for smile would have worked every time before but with the circumstances at hand, even she couldn't find the strength to return the smile. This wasn't her, this wasn't the young woman who didn't let anything effect her, even the day when her father walked out she held back every tear that threatened to fall because she knew once the tears began to slide down her pale cheeks it would be weeks before they dried up. There wasn't a chance she was going to start now, especially not in front of Keaton. Danielle sympathised with her husband, he only wanted her to be open with him and usually she was but he knew her better than anyone. He was her other half. When the time was right she'd pour her heart to him, she'd sob and express every last emotion that ate away at her. Even for Danielle, there was only so much a woman could keep to herself but her husband was there for many purposes, but one in particular was 'to have and to hold from this day forward’ also ‘in sickness and in health’ and here Danielle was, needing him the most but not knowing how to say it.
Listening to his words, Danielle had no idea how to react. She understood more that anyone how determined he was, she’d learnt that during all that time he spent trying to persuade her to marry him, whether it be arranged or not. Then he proposed and for once in their engagement, it felt real. There hadn’t been a time after that when she considered her marriage to be arranged. Yes, it started off that way and it was exactly what was needed to nudge them towards each other. If she hadn’t gotten a letter from her parents on that Monday morning, she wouldn’t have touched Keaton with a ten foot pole. There had been a time when they despised each other, when they had secretly plotted the other’s death and now…now everything was different. If an onlooker carefully watched them, they’d easily be fooled into believing that these two had been in love since their younger years, as if they’d had been best friends years beforehand. Thats when it came to her, that the heart can easily deceive the eye.
“Keaton, listen to me. I am going to be fine, and to show you that I’ll trail you to Hogwarts myself if you refuse to go to work because of a simple fever.” The tone that was once soft and reassuring had changed drastically, to the point were it didn’t even sound like it was her speaking anymore and with all her strength, she managed to push her body up and take hold of the towel, wrapping it around her tiny frame. “You are going to work tomorrow, get dried off and come to bed.” Tying up her long blonde hair, looks at him with the same determined look before sliding passed him and walking down the hallway towards the master bedroom.
