"Holy shitake mushrooms. I officially envy you" Rachel's eyes widened, staring at the picture before her, it was exact to the last detail. Even the boulder they were sitting on was anatomically correct. She knew he wasn't one to brag, she could tell instantly. Rachel could easily read people. Very rarely as she wrong.
She raised an eyebrow as she watched him flip to a page and start working on another sketch. It wasn't really clear, but she watched the development of the drawing, wondering what it was.

Alex had laughed after he heard Rachel's comment. It wasn't every day that someone made a comment about his drawing. After he had began on his next picture, he was really focusing on the background first. Which just a forest, with a small white rabbit hopping across the ground. When he had finally finished that part, he began to draw something that was on a tree. It looked like any random person, but he hadn't put any detail into that person yet. After he had drawn the base of the human, Alex drew what looked like a small piece of light which was shining on the person. The Ravenclaw, the took on glance at Rachel, he had a grin on his face as he saw her face. Alex then returned to the drawing. When it was finished he had put it straight up so Rachel could see it. The picture was basically her sitting on a tree with a small cute little rabbit hopping. That was one of his best drawings yet. He felt very proud of himself as he had showed the picture of Rachel. It wasn't a secret at that moment, that he had a crush on her. It wasn't only because she was both cute and hot. It was because she was the first one to actually care about him, and not laugh or ignore him. He felt like she was an angel sent from god. He didn't think that, that day could get any better.

She watched him closely, leaning over his shoulder to see the sketch develop before her eyes. It started with a forest and the rabbit, which she liked because rabbits, among other animals, were some of her favorites. Then he started on a tree and a person in it by the animal. At first it started off as a bunch of lines and soon it developed into a female. It was fascinating to watch someone draw like this. She blinked when she saw him grin up at her, then go back to the drawing. Once it was finished, she was in shock. She had never seen herself like that before, he made her seem like some kind of gorgeoud being, and yet she never saw herself that way. Rachel smiled once she had finally gotten ahold of herself and looked at the boy. "Bloody hell, that's amazing..."

Thanks the small Ravenclaw child had said. He had blushed at the same time as he began to thank her for her two compliments. I think that's enough for now he had said more to himself then to Rachel. He had a really good time talking to Rachel, even if they had barely talked. He felt like hid known her for ages, and not just a few minutes. She was the first and only person that treated him like a human being, and not some wild pig. He never felt like this before, for some reason he had really wanted to play his guitar at that moment. He really wasn't sure, but he wasn't going to go get it at that moment since it was all the way in the Ravenclaw's boy dormitory. He had really hated that place, since a lot of pranks had been pulled on him while he slept. Most of the time it wasn't even funny, it was just retarded. But he wasn't a thick like them, so he didn't get angry and start yelling and jinxing them. Unlike them he knew how to control his anger.

"What's wrong?" she asked, watching him put his sketchpad away. Yes, she was getting attached to the boy, but it was alright. She was content with keeping him close, and he seemed to like her as well, but probably more than how she felt. Rachel raised an eyebrow at the expression on his face, obviously he was thinking about something, probably those bloody gits in Ravenclaw. She watched the clock tower in her peripheral vision, wondering what time she had to get back to class, hoping her classes were done for the day.

No, not really he had answered her questions. He didn't really want to talk about how he was tortured by his roommates. It was embarrassing as it was telling her that he took a dip in the pull, because someone basically lifted him like ten feet over the water and dropped. The octopus that lived there had almost murdered him. Yes that big fish did swing a tentacle or two at him while he was trying to swim back to shore. But everyone had forgotten about that part, all they cared about was having someone to laugh at. He was probably the most brave person in the whole school, for not shitting his pants, while he was almost murdered by a fish with tentacles.

When she saw the look on his face, random visions flew into her mind. She had seen everything, the lake, the dorm pranks, the octopus; she needed to do something before those damn Ravenclaws killed him. Rachel pondered for a second, then smiled when she was hit with an epiphany. She dug around into her bag and pulled out one of her many bewitched objects, tossing a necklace chain to the boy with an antique looking ring hanging from it like a pendant.
"I gotta get to class... But if you have any problems with those bloody gits, and I mean any problems, you use that to get to me. I'll be there before you can say Hippogriff," Rachel smiled, grabbing her bag and tossing it over her shoulder. "See ya at dinner Alex"

As the Ravenclaw felt something go around his neck he had snapped out of his flashbacks. He then listened to what she had to say. He nodded as he watched her leave. He took off the necklace and stared at the necklace, after a while he put the necklace back on him, he hid it under his shirt. After that Alex picked up his sketchbook and pencil and headed back to hos common room. He had to put his stuff back into his bag before heading back to class. To be honest he had never met anyone as nice as Rachel.

Rachel jogged back into the Gryffindor common room, making her way upstairs to the dorms to bother her friend Lena to see if they had class at the moment. She was happy to have met the Ravenclaw boy, but she knew it was going to take a lot of work to keep him safe from the annoying upperclassmen. The girl found her friend and tackled her from behind, Rachel was much more cuddly when she knew someone these days.
"Lena, do you know if we're allowed to apparate this year?" she asked.
((hope you don't mind me adding her, I'll go get her in a few...))
