Robert had always been one for the women, made obvious by the many women reasons behind his divorce. The man sometimes thought with his pants and not his brain. He was man, what do you expect? He had no sense of self control when it came to that, well, not always. For example, the hiring of his new undersecretary, that was a sudden impulse because of a woman. Milly had only come to his office to drop off some files but, that immediately turned into flirting, a better job offer, and a seal of the deal on his desk – if you catch the drift. No self-control. Besides, that old coot that was his senior undersecretary was gross to look at and boring to listen too, and tended to forget a lot of things. Robert would not tolerate that sort of forgetfulness. So, the old coot was forced to retire, and Milly was the replacement.
He was making an effort to be with her, more than just that one time. In fact, he had not taken this much effort to be with anyone for quite some time. There was just something about her, he was not quite sure what it was but, he liked it and it had nothing to do with sex although that part was pretty fantastic as well. Robert could have already had this in the bag but, no. Milly was making it awfully difficult for him. He was positive she was doing it on purpose but, maybe that was because she had not decided on him? The last time they had gotten lunch together (which happened quite often), Milly had rambled on about some date with some bozo, a name Robert did not take the time to memorize, although he should have. Eliminating the competition would make things easier. It was then, that Robert was sure she was just making me jealous on purpose. Milly had gotten this little look of satisfaction on her face to see him squirm in jealousy, and he was in fact jealous. He was very territorial.
Robert would just have to take her out on an actual date. He had not had one of those in a very long time. Usually it was just a bar, drinks, sex, and that was pretty much it. Your number of dates sort of goes down when you get married. At one point in time, Robert had loved his wife very much. He loved her, their children and everything about their life together. Then, six years ago, things went downhill. Robert became Minister; he was at home less, and out more. He “worked” late nights and was always early to the office despite how late he “worked” (sometimes there was legit work) at night. It destroyed his relationship, not just with his wife but with his children, and he didn’t really care (or so the new version of Robert thought). Every so often there was a little voice that told him to stop but, that voice was quickly squashed like a bug by a boot.
This required a completely different level of class. He had just the idea come to him as he was going through some files that had been dropped off for him to review earlier. Robert flipped the file he was currently on closed, and exited his office. The door he had left partly open. He pushed it the rest of the way open, and leaned against the door frame. ”Milly,” he glanced around and found no one was in the main office room where her desk was. ”Have any plans for dinner tonight?” he asked, as an actually question and not a demand. Usually his questions were more demanding statements than a question. This time, he was being polite. Robert wanted to show Milly that he could be rather a nice guy, when he wanted to be.

Milly couldn’t really complain about life. She was 31, blond and basically got whatever she wanted. It wasn’t because she was spoiled or selfish but it was because she was so determined that she would not quit until her goals were met. Now, her life was not all a huge bed of roses. Early in her adult life she had her share of tragedy. She was married once. A young 18 year old Milly, straight out of Hogwarts, got married to her one and only love, Henry. He was everything to her and he treated her like a princess. They were happy together and were excited to spend the rest of their lives together. Sadly, a year later Henry died from a disease. Milly had been devastated. She didn’t leave her house for months. It was on that day that she decided to never give her heart away like that again. That was until Robert.
She didn’t know what it was about him. He was cruel to everyone, well except her, and couldn’t be trusted. She knew that she was probably one among many girls for him but she couldn’t stop thinking about him. She hadn’t felt this way about anyone since Henry. Ever since she stepped into that office that one day she wanted him. Even after their amazing office sex she could not stop thinking about him. She needed to have him, all to herself. Part of her was scared of this desire for him. He was nearly 10 years older than her and it was not like he would be able to give his heart to her. He was incapable of such a thing. She knew that she would get hurt and nothing good would come of this.
She needed to keep him wanting her. The only way to make a man like Robert desire a woman more was to make him jealous. That’s why, when David or Dan or whatever his name was started flirting with her she saw a way to make him jealous. It was too easy. Just simply mentioning to Robert that she was going to see another man made him green with jealousy. She knew that this was the right path to take. She did go on that date with David. It was dreadfully boring. All he could talk about was either himself or work. It made her want to gouge her eyes out. Then, when he took her home and looked to come in for a little ‘dessert’ , Milly faked a stomach ache and sent him away. There was no way she was sleeping with him. After all, she had a very good hunch that sex with anyone else would not compare to sex with Robert.
Milly had been at her desk, digging through paperwork when she heard Robert speak. She wheeled her chair around to face him, a small smirk on her lips. “Well, I think David wanted to take me to some restaurant,” Milly lied. There was no way in hell she would go out with David again but she knew that this would press Robert’s buttons. “I had such a great time with him last week that he asked me out again. He is such an amazing guy,” She smirked even more, holding back whatever laughter was trying to come out. She really didn’t know how she was keeping a semi-serious face about this. “Unless you have a better offer? I mean, David can wait,” Milly finished, a small smile on her face. She knew that he was trying to ask her to dinner and of course she would say yes. She just had to play around with him for a bit first.

There was that stupid name again, David. Robert rolled his eyes at the mention of that moron, who was way out of his league. ”Well,” he started, putting his hands in his trouser pockets and approaching Milly’s desk. ”He can’t take you where I am taking you.” He said, stopping in front of her desk. ”There is new restaurant in London, very classy place. Evening wear, I think is what they said was part of their dress code. The owner personally invited me for a dinner, gave me a private table in a separate room off from the main dining room. There is music and dancing I think and I expect he just wants to say I was there to generate more business. I want you to come with me. If you have a dress, I can let you go early today, go do some shopping.” Robert said with a bit of a wry smile. ”You can’t say you don’t have the money for as much as I’m paying you,” He added. It was true, after their little office moment, little is an understatement, but, he made sure Milly was the most over paid undersecretary in the history of the Ministry.
Robert picked up a few random objects off her desk, inspected them, and put them back down while he spoke. ”Oh, and next week I have to go to France to meet with the Minister there. The Ministry is in Paris, and naturally I would take you along. You would not have to be working, just be there with me but, um…” Robert looked up at her and sighed. ”…if this David has a better offer than that...” he trailed off, ending with a shrug. Most of what he said was true. He was invited to go to this restaurant, weeks ago actually, Robert just put the invitation aside, having no one worthy of taking at the time. Milly was plenty worthy. He was sure she would turn heads there, making them all the buzz, or at least her. Robert could practically imagine in her…well, nothing but, an evening dress of some sort, something…sexy but, not something that made her look desperate for the attention.
Robert rounded the desk. He stood next to Milly, facing her, and leaned against the desk. He leaned forward closer to her, putting on hand on the arm of her chair. ”You can’t say you even remotely like that creep with a straight face,” he said, indicating he had caught on to her little game. ”I can see it in your eyes that you don’t,” Robert added in a hushed tone before leaning back to his original position. As it was, he really did have business in France. Robert had planned on going alone but, taking someone with, specifically Milly, would make the whole trip far less dreadful. Half is time would be divided up between meetings, or a meeting depending on how things went, and time with her. Seemed much better to him than time alone, which was something he hated.

He knew how to reel her in. It was like he knew exactly what she wanted and just how to say it. Robert was like Henry in that sense. Henry always took her to nice places that required her to dress up. Milly loved to dress up. Any excuse to go shopping and she was there and now with her new, very large, salary, she could afford any dress that she wants. The place David had taken her was small and casual, nothing for her to be excited about. The thought of going to a place where they could have their own private room excited her. She couldn’t let it show though. She needed to act casual though she was smiling on the inside.
“Well, it is an excuse to go shopping,” She spoke, the same smirk still plastered on her face. “I suppose I could tell David that my big, mean boss is making me work late and I can’t see him tonight. Oh, I’m sure he will cry then get over it,” Milly finished a great giant grin now on her face. She was already thinking of places that she could go dress shopping at. There was this one dress she had been looking to buy for like ever now and she finally had the money to buy it. All thanks to her ever so generous boss. “And I will need the rest of the day off. It takes a while to look this good,” She laughed, her whole face lighting off. This would be a fantastic night, she could already feel it.
Then, Robert mentioned Paris and Milly could not hide the smile on her face. She had always wanted to go to Paris her whole life. See, her family didn’t really like the French so they never went to Paris on their family vacations. It was usually Rome or Madrid, but never Paris. There was no way in hell that she was going to pass up a trip, probably all expenses paid, to Paris. “Well David did offer to take me to Rome but I’ve already been there so I suppose I will go to Paris with you,” she smirked, lying about David once again. Heck, David probably couldn’t afford a trip to Rome.
Then, Robert basically said he could see right through her little game. This made her grin even more. She knew that it was quite obvious she was trying to make him jealous but it was just so fun to do. She loved playing around with people. Some would call her a tease but she really didn’t care. “So you’re not completely oblivious,” She smirked up at him. She stood up from her chair, coming inches apart from Robert. Still, looking up at him, she continued to smirk. “David is an attractive man but he lacks a certain, charm. A charm that was very hard to find, until I met a certain minister,” she spoke softly, placing a hand on Robert’s chest. If anyone would walk into the office at this moment they would know that something was up between the two of them. Rumors would begin to pop up, if they haven’t already, about a love affair between Milly and Robert. Frankly, she didn’t care. He was divorced and a free man and therefore, free for Milly to take.

Much to Robert’s surprise, Milly made this really easy for him. He was pretty sure he would have had to do more convincing than that. Either he was really good at it, or by luck, he had said all the right things. Robert felt it did not entirely matter where he asked Milly to go with him, part of him said she would go anywhere he asked her too. ”He should really realise that he is way out of his league with you,” Robert said. He had little doubt that this David was a real person. Obviously, he was a boring person, or someone that at least did not bring Milly any intelligible satisfaction.
Robert smirked in his easily obtained triumph. ”Of course you can have the rest of the day off. I think I can survive without you for half a day,” he said with a bit of a shrug. Quite honestly, he probably could not survive without her. Robert had no idea where anything went outside his office. He had a special safe for top secret, for his eyes only files but, other than that he was completely clueless. Well, if anything happened, Robert would figure it out. Or, he could just leave the office for the day; make some political visits to pass the time.
Robert snorted at the mention of Rome. ”I doubt this David would be able to take you anywhere outside of London,” he said. Inside he was just giddy with lust and whatever else with the fact that Milly was going to come with him. She really would be crazy not to. This was Paris after all, the city of – well, whatever they referred it to. Although this trip was meant for business, it would be nice to have a bit of a pleasurable spin on things. It would definitely make things less stressful for him, and that was the last thing he needed. ”You won’t have to worry about expense, everything is already paid for, as long as you don’t mind share this fantastic suite with me,” Robert said with a mischievous smirk.
Robert half-shrugged, half shook his head. Of course he was not oblivious. Obliviousness is not what made him Minister of Magic. Time, effort, money, threats did. Robert made sure he knew what was happening to those around him all the time, especially to those closest to him. Right now, that person was Milly. Even though he may been enjoying this little jealously game, one that would probably continue for however long they continued, Robert enjoy not having it hanging around just as much. He watched her as she stood up and came closer to him. Robert amazingly managed to keep his hands to himself, which were currently acting as supports as he leaned against her desk.
The moment Milly touched him; Robert had to straighten up as his arms oddly went a little weak. He reached out and put his hands at each side of her waist. ”That’s a good charm, I hope,” Robert said, maintaining eye contact. Milly’s touch practically burned through his shirt and skin. Whatever it was she did to him, he liked it. It made him crazy about her. A simple touch, like this one, made him just want to push here against the back wall and just take her there. Robert would not. He was trying out that self-control concept. He was growing a bit weak as the seconds past.

She had him where she wanted him but her going after Robert was not a thing of wanting power. Most women would go after Robert because he was the minister and could buy them all sorts of pretty little things. It was different for Milly. For some reason, she felt a connection with Robert that she hadn’t felt since Henry. It was deeper than just sex, for her at least. She didn’t want to admit this though. She hated herself for being connected to a man who would never be able to stay truly faithful to her. She had heard stories about Robert before she had even been involved with him. While he was still married, he would go off with different women every night since he was minister and have his little affairs. None of them ever lasted longer than a few weeks. This made Milly wonder when she would be tossed aside for another. When she went into that office that first day they met, she knew something would happen. She thought to hell with it, if it got her a better job then so be it but as soon as she began talking to the minister and then when they had sex, she felt different. She wanted to see him more. Did all of his flings feel the same way as her or was this different?
“Sir,” Milly begun, a smirk placed lightly on her lips. “Everyone is out of their league with me,” She finished, indicating that the Minister, he who could get anything he wanted, was out of his league when it came to Milly. Of course this was not true. Milly was pretty, very pretty for a girl her age but aging was starting to take effect on her. She was beginning to get small wrinkles here and there. This made her begin to think that her glory days were over and that she would die alone. Who would want her when her looks went and she was an old bat?
“You can’t survive ten minutes without me,” Milly chuckled. She was the glue that kept this whole operation going. The secretary before her did a terrible job. It took Milly hours to sort through everything and organize important documents. She really didn’t know how Robert got on without her here before. “I expect this place to be trashed and burning to the ground by five,” She added, another little chuckle escaping her lips. She had faith in Robert that he could maybe get along without her for a few hours but she feared of the state of her office when he was done with it. She really hated it when people ruined her organization of things.
“David is a very respectable man with a lovely home and a rather large inheritance,” Milly lied yet again. David was a horribly mannered man who lived in a run down one bedroom apartment and only had money because of the new rules that said that Slytherin controlled the Ministry. Other than that he would never have gotten the job that he did. Milly couldn’t tell that to Robert though. She needed to use David against him at any time. Why? Because it was fun. “Sharing a suite with you? Hmm I don’t know about that. I want to go site seeing and I fear that if we share a suite we won’t see much of anything other than the bedroom,” She grinned jokingly. She knew that there would be a giant possibility of that happening but she did not mind as long as she got to see the Eiffel Tower.
As Milly stood before Robert, she began to let a hand travel down his chest slowly as he put his hands on her waist. She adored every touch that he gave her. There was something about his strong grip that made her feel safe, which was strange since no other person would ever feel safe around Robert. “It’s a charm that I find intoxicating and can’t seem to get enough of. A charm that keeps me coming back for more each and every time,” she spoke softly, her big eyes looking up at him with desire as her hand rested just above the waist of his pants. How fast she fell for Robert scared her. She shouldn’t fall for such a dangerous man. She needed to find a nice, safe respectable man who could take care of her and they could start a family. With Robert, there was no knowing the future. He could drop her in the blink of an eye and not think twice about it. This scared her and yet, she could not walk away. No matter how much she tried she could not leave. She was addicted to Robert LeBlanc and would not stop until this addiction killed her.

Robert smirked a little ask Milly called him sir. He had to admit, it never sounded sexy coming from anyone else except her. Everyone called him sir; it was the respectable thing to call the Minister. ”I’m not out of my league,” he said with a shake of his head. Robert might actually be out of his league. There was something more between them than just sex. It started out that way but, within a few weeks it had evolved into something else. He would not really call it a relationship, at least not a normal one, not yet. Milly was making him work for her. It was challenge, one he had accepted and was actually enjoying.
Milly was right, he would not survive without her. Not in the office, anyway. Outside of the office, perhaps he could survive without her. He had for many years now. ”I promise, I won’t touch a thing,” Robert said with a bit of a laugh. The last time Robert had tried doing something himself, he ended up putting something out of order; Milly nearly killed him for disrupting her organization. Robert learned not to touch anything, and just give them to Milly.
Really, what was it about this David guy? Robert made a mental note to check out this David character and see if he really had what it took. Of course it didn’t. No one could, or would compete with Robert; he would make sure of that one way or another. This David guy would never want to ask Milly out again, if he wanted to live to see the age of …whatever the next year would be for him. The conversation flipped back to Paris. Robert chuckled. ”No it won’t,” he sighed, as if it was a terrible loss to him. ”I really do have meetings but, I promise you will get to see everything you want to,” Robert added.
Robert’s expression softened dramatically. He was doing his best to ignore her hand movements. It was a little difficult for him but, he managed. Milly’s eyes were a good distraction. Robert looked into them, realizing he really did not want to hurt her, her really didn’t. That had him scared, although he would never admit that. The fact that he didn’t want to hurt Milly, scared him. It meant that this was just more than just casual sex and small advantages that went with it. Robert pulled her a little closer, moving on of his hands up to her cheek. He leaned in a kissed. This was not like any other he had given her. It was not one that said ‘move your hand down a little lower, let’s have a go’, it was a…well, the kiss was long, slow, almost as if he really loved her.

Not many people knew about Henry. Only people closest to Milly, like her parents and close friends, had known about the marriage and its tragic end. Along with that, not many people knew that she was depressed for months after that. Milly didn’t find it necessary to tell people about her private life if she wasn’t close to the person. In her mind, it was her own business and she did not need to bother people with the sticky details of her sad history. She hadn’t even thought about telling anyone about Henry until Robert. For some odd reason she felt as though she owed it to him to tell him. Surly she shouldn’t feel this need towards a casual fling. Was this a sign that this was becoming more than that? She knew that she had feelings of passion for this man but she had never really thought about being with him. She always thought that he was simply too set on being available to all women to want to settle down with her. Milly was sure that getting involved with the Minister would not be an easy thing. Then again, Milly never did like easy.
Milly laughed when Robert said that he was not out of his league. He may be right about that one. To him, she just must be one of many women that he got in his life. However, she would not view herself as that. She was a prize that a man had to earn. Though Robert hadn’t done much to earn her, she felt as though he was trying to. This again made her feel as though this was something more. She needed to push these thoughts out of her mind. A man like Robert wouldn’t even be ready for a relationship yet anyways. “Of course not, love,” She spoke with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. It seemed to be that every single time she was around him she had the same old stupid smirk plastered on her face. Yet another thing he did to her.
No matter how much she tried, Milly could not get Paris out of her mind. This was the first time in a long time that she was really happy and excited about something. She was picturing herself walking through the streets, shopping for the finest fashions, going to wizarding museums and soaking up the culture along with seeing the few muggle attractions she wanted to see. It would be an amazing trip for her. Then of course, going back to the suite at night and having a little fun with Robert. He could always help her past the time. The smile on her face would not leave for days now. “Well then I would love to go to Paris with you. Thank you for the invitation,” Milly grinned, her voice sweet and filled with excitement. She was so excited she wanted to go home and start packing now. That made her sound like a five year old though.
Then something happened. Amidst the close embrace and their eyes meeting, he kissed her. Now, Robert had kissed her many times before but never, EVER, like this. This kiss was the kind that sent goosebumps up her arms and made her hair stand on end. It was the type that made her head rush and everything else in the world disappear. It was the type that Henry used to give her. After a few moments, she broke the kiss breathlessly. She stood before him, panting slightly, looking into his eyes again and resting her forehead on his. Ever since Henry died, she had searched for a kiss like that. No one could compete with Henry’s, until now. This both confused her and scared her. Henry was supposed to be the only person who could kiss her like that. Now, Robert could. Did that mean something? Before her brain could start making her more confused, Milly moved her lips to touch Robert’s to kiss him and forget the world again.

Everyone knew that the Minister of Magic was once married. Everyone knew why he got a divorce in the first place. Robert was basically a man whore, who just could not keep it in his pants. He admitted it, when questioned about it. He also regretted it. Regret and apologies did not change the fact that what happened, happened. It was something he did not expect anyone to forgive him for. He did not expect anyone to understand either. That was old news, however, water under the bridge. No one spoke ill against Robert, not in public anyway. Things with Milly though, they were not the usual run of the mill for him. Usually, Robert met a girl, talked with her or whatever, and slept with her a few times (depending on how good she was), and then that was it. There were no feelings attached to it other than sexual satisfaction. Milly was different. She left him wanting more, more than just sex – which was amazing each and every time, and it just kept getting better. It scared him, though, how quickly he was attaching himself to her.
Robert eyed her as she laughed. It was not funny, he was being absolutely serious. He had gotten this far with her; he could go the rest of the way. It was odd to think about it. He was actually trying to have a real relationship with someone other than himself or a bottle. What the hell was Milly doing to him? Perhaps it was just time for Robert to give love a go again. All those he had loved were lost to him, so it did not hurt to finally look for something new.
Robert smiled. He was happy to see Milly was excited to go with him. Sure, this was a business trip but, what was the harm in mixing in a bit of pleasure? Besides, Robert really, really did not want to go alone. He hated being alone, which was part of the reason why he was a man whore. Robert could not stand being alone, usually at night. He tolerated it, of course, and there were times when he really did want to be alone. There was just a different kind of loneliness that he was trying to shake off. Hopefully Paris would just be the start of that. ”Good,” he said. ”I didn’t want to take anyone else with me, really,” he admitted.
What did he just do? Robert was even confused by his own actions. Milly had not rejected him, so that had to mean something. He had not kissed anyone like that since…..well, his wife but, he had stopped kissing her like that eons ago. This was something knew and entirely unexpected, and Robert frankly and no idea why he had kissed her like that. It just…happened. Damn those feelings. He did not get the chance to really sort that out, Milly was zoning in for another kiss. Robert just shoved all conflicting, confusing thoughts aside and kissed her again, in the same manner, holding her closer and tighter than before.
