Gabriella, having one of the worst days of school in her entire lifetime, went up to the North Tower, the night was still young but it was already dark and the stars were sparkling out in the blanket of darkness in the sky. Gabriella found it too difficult to talk to anyone, a few people had seen her crying on her way up to the North Tower but she didn't stop to explain.
She sat on the ground, her back against the wall and her hair looking messy as if she didn't care what she looked like, the truth was, she didn;t really care at all that her make-up had ran down her face, making her look like a depressed clown. She knew it would be okay to sob louder than silently and placed her head on her knees where her legs were held up against her chest and cried...

Alexis had had an odd sort of day. She, herself, had been fine, but everyone else seemed to be acting strangely. She wasn't quite sure what the deal was with everyone; she hadn't heard of any horrible news lately, or any kind of tragic disasters. She tried to shrug it off, finding only a few other people with normal emotions.
On the way back to the Gryffindor Common Room from a delicious meal in the Great Hall, Alexis had decided to wander the corridors, in hope of finding one of her friends. She wanted to know why everyone was acting up in such an odd way. As Alexis passed through the North Tower Corridor, she heard a muffled noise. It sounded like someone was crying. She hesitated for a moment, and then went on up the North Tower.
Alexis was a curious girl, always in people's business even if it was unintentional. She headed up the winding staircase and saw a Gryffindor girl she seemed to recognize from the Common Room. She walked over to the girl, who was sitting alone and sobbing quietly into her knees, and tried to think of her name.
"Are you alright....Gabriella?" Alexis asked, thinking of the girl's name at the very last minute. Alexis was standing in front of Gabriella, crouched over her to see her face more clearly.

Gabriella raised her head, hearing footsteps that were getting louder and gathering speed. She started to panic ans wiped her face with her sleeve, pulling herself to her feet and facing away from the entrance. The thought seemed impossible, Alexis was already towering over Gabriella, she had the temptation to snap at her and tell her to just stay out of others buisness, but Gabriella wasn't that type of girl.
She didn't bother to wipe her eyes, Alexis had seen and heard it all, Gabriella could not deny she was crying. She pulled herself to her feet and sighed, thinking of words she could say but not iving anything away, knowing what girls were like these days, acting like the best friend in the world and then becoming this horrid snob and telling everyone your buisness. "Fine..." Gabriella's voice was barely a whisper but it was enough for Alexis to hear.

Alexis studied Gabriella's face. It looked awfully messy, all red and blotchy. Something must have really been wrong with her. Alexis leaned against the wall, close to Gabriella and began to rub her back.
"Certainly, something must be wrong." Alexis said, looking at Gabriella straight in the eyes. "Would you like to tell me about it? I'll be your shoulder to cry on." she added. Alexis always had sympathy for Gryffindors, since she herself was one.

Gabriella coughed, clearing her throat and folding her arms, as though giving the impression that she wouldn't say anything ever again. She sniffed and looked to Alexis, sighing and rolling her eyes.
"Boys..." she said simply through the silence that was stretching long between them. She brushed her hair behind her ears so her face was showing and the light of the moon was shining off her face. Gabriella seemed to trust Alexis for some reason but wasn't going to go into deep detail with Alexis

Alexis could tell, by Gabriella's body language, that she wasn't going to tell Alexis much. She cocked her head to one side, waiting for Gabriella to answer her question. Alexis was only trying to be nice.
She crossed her arms. "Of course," she said, rolling her eyes. "That's evey teenage girl's problem." She thought about what she was going to say next, trying not to sound too prying. "I'm here if you want to let it all out." Alexis shrugged, slidding down the wall to sit on the ground.
