The Outer Layer
Physical Appearance;
Layla has wavy brown hair that reaches to about 2 inches below her shoulder and about 2 and a half when it's straight. She almost never straightens it unless it's a special occasion and when she needs to study or exercize, she put it up in a ponytail because she can't concentrate with her hair in her eyes.
Layla has piercing brown eyes that pull you in when you look into them, like you're being sucked into a black hole. She has full lips, that are slightly pink, that always look glossy, and she is always smiling. When she smiles, the dimples she has show themselves next to her mouth.
Layla has creamy white porcelain skin, that never tans, only burns in the sun. She has no blemishes, and doesn't break out often, but once in a while, one will pop up.
Layla is about five feet five inches in height and is built for sports. She is slender and can eat as much as she wants, but never gains a pound, or at least, doesn't look like it. She has long, thin, legs, and small feet.

Layla is a quiet and shy person. She paid more attention to learning than friendship, so she's never really had many friends, but she decided to change all that before she attended Hogwarts.
When at Hogwarts, Layla opened up. She still worked hard on her schoolwork, but she made friends, and she asserted herself more. She was always confident with herself and had self-respect.
Layla cared about everyone and everything. She always helps someone or something in need, no matter what. She is also always sympathetic when something bad happens to someone. She tries to soothe and help the people.
Layla is always polite to everyone. She also always respects her elders. Layla is also stubborn. When she thinks she's right about something, she will argue her point, but if it gets too bad, she'll let the other person win, even if she thinks she's correct.
The Past

Layla was born on August 15,
? to Dean and Cho Thomas in Dundee, Scotland. She has one seventeen year old sister named Ashley, who is a Gryffindor seventh year.Ever since kindergarten, Layla has made good grades in school. All the way up to fifth grade, and evn at Hogwarts, she always did/does her homework and she gets "A"s and "B"s in muggle schools, and "O"s and "E"s at Hogwarts. Layla always does her homwork before trying to do something fun, because she doesn't want to risk leaving it until the last minute.
Layla's first and second years at Hogwarts were great. She made many friends and had fun. She even had her sister to help her around Hogwarts, even though she was sad they weren't in the same house. They hung out still, even though each had their own friends. Layla would sure miss her sister when she left Hogwarts.

Laurie was upstairs in the common room, doing homework when she looked out the window and saw how nice it was outside. She wanted to go out, but there was a little voice in her head telling her not to. You know, like the angel and the devil on her shoulders. They were arguing. You need to do your homework, it's due tomorrow. But it's such a nice day outside. But you always finish your homework. Exactly right, you do, so you need a break. But the homework is due tomorrow. In the end, the devil won.
This was the first nice day they'd had in a while, and she wanted to enjoy. She looked out the window and saw the huge lake. Right. That's what I'll do. Go for a swim, she thought. She put all of her work back into her bag and went to go put it up into the dorm. She nticed her bed wasn't made and thought, I thought I made it. Hmm. She put her bag on the pillow, and opened her trunk to find her bathing suit. She put it on, put her uniform back on over it and grabbed a towel.
Laurie put her wand in her pocket, and took off into the corridor outside the portrait. When she got downstairs, she opened the big oak doors, and stepped out into the hot sun. yes, definately a good day for a swim. She hadn't been swimming in such a long time. It always relaxed her. It was one of her favorite things to do. She got to the lake, and took off her uniform, folding it up, and placing it under the tree. She stepped into the cool water and shivered. It was so cold, but it also felt good on the warm day. It wasn't exactly hot, but it was warmer than usual. And Laurie had always swam on colder days anyway.
Laurie was feeling good in the nice water. It was the perfect temperature. Cool, but not cold. She was really enjoying herself.
