((Just an FYI, I'm going to be out of town until saturday evening, so if something is wrong with my application, I promise I will fix it as soon as I get back )
The Basics
Name; Keilan Kobayashi
Age; 15
Birthday; March 10
Gender; Male
Year; 5th
House; Working on it...
Occupation; none, yet
Wand; 11 inch birch tree with a core of a chimaera scale
The Outer Layer
Physical Appearance; [1-2 Paragraphs minimum]
Keilan stands at a moderate height of 5' 8". A part of him hopes that he'll grow a bit taller still, but considering his heritage it's not very likely. His hair is black, though sometimes he charms it to a light brown color. It's styled kind of messy, with layers that just kind of hang in his face. His eyes are a deep brown, and usually full of expression. His skin is overall pale, though he can tan a little bit in the sun if he tries. Keilan's figure is kind of lean for a guy, but there's also some muscle thanks to playing quidditch. As far as personal style go, he puts a little effort into his clothes, but overall he's pretty laid back. Usually just jeans and a t-shirt is enough to get him by, though he never looks too sloppy or dirty or anything. Even for a guy, he likes look put-together.
The Inner Layer
Patronus; Wolf
Boggart; His family injured
Strengths;
• Potions
• Quidditch
• Cooking the muggle way
• Open-minded
• Staying Positive
Weaknesses; [2-3 Minimum]
• Transfiguration
• Procrastinating on homework
• A sad story
• A cute smile
• Doesn't take things too seriously
Personality; [1-2 Paragraphs minimum]
One's first impression would probably be along the lines of being a pretty kind and easy-going guy; he almost always has a smile on his face. He likes to laugh, and make others laugh too, and he's not afraid to have a joke at his own expense. Keilan's pretty approachable, so he's a good guy to go to if you have any problems, and in addition he enjoys helping others. He especially would do to the ends of the earth for his family, and it's be hard to find a more loyal friend. While his energetic personality can help him through harder times, it's also one of his faults because he has trouble taking most things seriously. Sure, he works a little bit for his grades, and he has some healthy competitiveness when it comes to that, but overall he can be described as a goof-ball.
However, Keilan has his quiet side too, and though he may not show it very often it's there. It's not quietness due to being shy (on the contrary, we've been over how outgoing he is), but he can be a very thoughtful person at times. Keilan is more intuitive and understanding than he lets people believe, so that's another reason why he's usually such a positive force to be around. He's a very open-minded person, so he'll never be quick to judge no matter what you've said or done, but he is pretty quick when it comes to forgiving others.
The Past
History;
Keilan Sora Kobayashi is the oldest child, and only son of Izumi and Bethany Kobayashi. Izumi's grandparents were originally from Japan, but they moved to England before his father was born, and they've lived there ever since. His father was the first in a couple of generations to have wizarding abilities, but Hogwarts tracked him down and he attended there as a Hufflepuff student. After graduating, he went on to become a Healer and currently works for St. Mungo's. One night, Izumi was dining at one of his favorite muggle restaurants in London when he ran into a woman name Bethany Roberts. To his surprise, she was actually the owner of the restaurant, and to his further surprise he almost immediately fell in love with her. They dated for about 6 months before Izumi finally told Bethany his magical secret. Of course she was shocked, but as they say love conquers all, and eventually the two got married.
About 5 years after their marriage, the couple had their first child, a son they called Keilan (named after Bethany's own grandfather). When he was two years old Noah once had a bit of a temper tantrum and created a small thunderstorm in the kitchen. Benjamin immediately realized his son was going to be a wizard. Bethany was a little confused about the whole process still, but she was truly happy for him. When he was 8 years old, there was another addition to the Kobayashi family, Keilan's little sister, Akane. While at first, he didn't much care for what he dubbed "the screaming bundle of cloth", but as they've gotten older, he's gotten quite protective of Akane. So far, she hasn't shown any magical talent, though, and considering her age they don't think she will.
The summer after his eleventh birthday, Keilan received the letter, via owl, that he was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry. After hearing all about the school from his father, Keilan couldn't wait to go himself. His family had grown up in a muggle lifestyle, so he had neven gotten the chance to really see or practice magic. When the day came he actually walked into the impressive Great Hall, needless to say it was a mix of nervousness and excitement. Still, his personality made it pretty easy to find a small group of friends, even at a young age, and he eventually settled in quite nicely. Admittedly, he was never crazy about the school work to begin with, but there's no doubt in his mind that he loves magic, and there's no other place he'd rathe rbe.

((one of my professor characters from another site))
Noah shut the door behind him quietly, though the sound still echoed across the currently empty classroom. He glanced around the stoney tower with a sense of happiness that he was back for another year of teaching. Low tables were placed throughout the room, with puffy pillows on the floor to be used as chairs. When he first saw that set-up two years ago, he actually thought it looked a little absurd, but the students had said that it was actually a nice change to sit on the floor. He has simply shrugged and said, 'Alright, but don't complain if your back begins to hurt,' with a small laugh.
Shaking his head lightly at the memory, Noah strolled to the front of the room where his desk was at, and placed down the pile of books that he had been holding in his left arm. He had just come from the library, and the stack contained a variety of books about that subject of (what else) Divination. After two years at Hogwarts, he pretty much had a syllabus worked out for all of his classes, but he still enjoyed to brush up on some new material now and then for some ideas.
Turning back around, he sat quietly on the edge of his desk while looking at the student's work tables again. "Why do I feel that something is missing?" he asked himself, rubbing a hand against his not-so clean shaven chin. Suddenly, he snapped his finger with realization. "Of course," he said out loud, pulling his mahogany wand out of his pocket. With a small flick of his wrist, the cupboard in the corner popped open, and crystal balls began to float around the room for a moment, before one by one they settled down on a table. His first class today was a group of 4th years, and he believed a refresher course of gastromancy was needed.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of footsteps climbing up the tower stairs. 'This must be the eager bunch,' he mused, glancing at his watch and realizing that there was still about 5 minutes before class started. Still, he realized he should probably be grateful that anybody was eager for his class. Noah stood up a little straighter, fixed his tie, and waited to greet his students.
