Robert had tried to stay away. He really did try. By the end of last May, Robert was fully prepared for a full year vacation. He picked his substitute for the year and everything. He only planned to stop and check up on a things just a couple of times this term. Robert had needed the time off to spend with his family but, so far, that hadn't really turned out ...all that well. It was partly is own fault and the other part he just could not really explain.
During his usual summer holiday, Bellatrix had take over the Ministry. He went there, and discovered that Kelsey was alive. It had been a bittersweet moment. She was alive yet, he had nearly killed her before the Death Eater mask had removed. Had it not, Robert would have unknowingly killed her. Had that happened, he would not have been able to live with himself. Instead, even though it probably was not t he smartest idea, Robert dragged Kelsey home. It would only be a matter of time before Bellatrix came for her again.
Life had still gone on. Kelsey had gone and cheated on James, and Robert gave her a rather harsh scolding about it. He also found out that Gemma Ackerly was in fact, his daughter. Kelsey hates him for that, as those two girls don't get along. Luckily, Gemma wanted nothing to do with him really but, that didn't really make that situation any better. Lastly, Robert just can not have any female friends, ever. He met a nice young woman, one that was often physically abused by her husband. As Robert hates that, he had been trying to help her. They were friends alright...with benefits (alcohol had be involved in that decision). Secretly, of course. Kelsey was at him about that too. Robert ended up telling her. It was really only a matter of time before Kelsey opened her big mouth and told Mandy and the rest of the family. Robert knew that his family life was essentially just over.
Since the Ministry was in full Death Eater control, Robert had decided he better go back to Hogwarts. He needed to be there to protect it, and his family at the same time...somehow. Robert was sitting behind his desk, shifting through a pile of owls. They were all from concerned parents about the security at Hogwarts. He had to respond to them all, giving them reassurances that they would be find. Hogwarts was fine, although he was well aware (as were many others) that it was not impenetrable.
Robert sighed, setting down his quill. He picked up a glass and took a drink of "water" (aka vodka), and set it back down. Oh yes, he had started that again too. Robert didn't function well under stress of any sort. He never knew what was the right thing to do with himself so, he always fell back on old habits. It was all he knew how to do, even when he really wanted to do something different and change like he promised. Robert got up, taking the glass once more and walked over to a window, staring out of it, surveying the grounds. It would only be a matter of time before the ground below became a battlefield.
words; 552 tags; open clothes;spiffy notes; he's back.

It wasn’t often that Victoria could walk with confidence through the halls of the school, but after months of practicing, Victoria could call herself a “Modern Day Vampire”. The sun still hurt her skin a lot, but she was able to get around that feeling by wearing long sleeves and pants and scarves. It surprised a lot of people including her father, which was shocked to hear that she was able to walk in the sun, during the day, with humans. She smiled at that thought and continued down the hall to her office. She had to make a couple of stops along the way, to break up a small fight between some angry girls, a couple people making out almost undressed, and had to threat taking away house points for the three boys trying to smoke in the Library. She sighed lightly, wondering why kids did what they did, but then again, they were just that: kids. She was having a love-hate relationship with the position she was in, and the letters just kept on coming. There was a war going on around her and she was doing everything she could to keep the students safe. Of course, there were those few parents that demanded their children come home until she was able to say for sure that the school was safe from any more threats. She let out a loud sigh as she rested her head against the door to her office when she heard something on the other side of the door. It was the familiar rustle of papers, clinging of ice in the crystal glasses, and the soft scoot of the chair as it’s legs drug across the slate floor. Someone was in there and she closed her eyes waiting for the opportune time to surprise them. But when she really listened, she could almost hear just who it was. She opened her eyes, a confused stare on her face, and then she silently slipped into the office, closing the door as if it had never opened behind her. There he was; dressed in a slim-fitted suit and vodka in hand. She could smell it from across the room. She watched him for a moment and thought about what she should say to him. She took a breath and then stepped forward. “Something told me you would be back,” she smiled. “How are you Robert?” she asked curiously, knowing full well that he knew that she wouldn't take anything but the truth. She had heard rumors about what was going on with Robert’s family and his troublesome daughter. She did not want to assume, but it seemed like that was the only thing that would drive him back… the lack of something at home to be there for. And as harsh as it was, she really hoped she wasn’t right. Words: 473 Outfit: clickieNotes: not sure I really like it, but I’ll see where my muse takes me =)
