It had been an okay day at the prophet. Nothing terribly exciting, there had been a new girl who Clark had been saddled down with but that was the most eventful thing that happened all day. They didn’t even go to an interview or anything just lounged around the prophet looking busy till it was time to pack up and head home. So that’s where Clark was at walking down a avenue with her leather messenger bag that held al; her notepads, quills and etc. swinging from her shoulder. The clicking of her heels seemed to be the only sound coming from the avenue packed with loft building, that and the random crickets chirping here and there. The August twilight was surprisingly cool but she luckily had a blazer draped around her shoulders. Soon enough she was met by the cheerful doorman at the modern loft build she and Adrian lived in. and up the stairs it was, a nice 4 floors till she reached their loft. It wasn’t fun to do without heel let alone is five inch stilettos but she had done it before and she would none the less do it again, soon enough it seemed like she would have monster calf muscles. After a climb that seemed to take all eternity she reached the familiar door of their little flat. Clark fished out her keys from the messenger bag wondering what the new thing was going to be tonight. She pushed her weight against the door and it swung open easily. The tired brunette dumped the heels and the heavy messenger bag next to the door. ”Hey, I’m back!” Clark called into the seemingly empty loft, but she knew better then that she was most definitely here. She had no clue what to do first, the night being so young it seemed like anything could be a logical idea. May be she could actually do something useful, like do the story that need to be done before the end of the week, but that definitely seemed like too much work. So she settled on lounging on the couch soon enough Adrian would probably wander out looking for her.

Adrian had a long day today. First he had been called in on a track and capture alive assignment, not his forte, then the assignment had gone terribly wrong when his partner almost let their prey escape. Needless to say th result was..somewhat messy. Their prey had managed to get in a few good hits that left Adrian with a nice sized cut above his left eye and left said prey missing an arm after all was said and done. Their employer hadn't been to pleased about that, but had paid them none the less.
So Adrian had made his way back to his loft, after giving his partner a good smack upside the head of course in revenge for the screw up. He made his way into the empty loft with a heavy sigh, quickly making his way to the bathroom to shower and change. After all, Clark would probably be home soon and wouldn't like him all blood stained and gross. He took his time in the shower, making to scrub off every drop of dried blood off. All in all it took him about an hour to get completely clean before exiting the shower and throwing on some jeans and beginning to towel off his dark hair. He made his way out the the living room to find Clark already home and lounging on the couch.
A small smirk graced his features as he walked over, letting the towel drape across his shoulders as he leaned over the back of the couch and planted a kiss on her cheek. "You're back early, nothing fun happen today?" he asked, his icy orbs gazing down at her.

Clark had her head resting against the arm rest of the couch with her eyes closed, locked in her own thoughts to care much about what was going on around her. Her mind was still whirling around what she should do. It would probably be smartest to go ahead and work on the paper but knowing Adrian he would never leave her in peace long enough to finish what she need to get done, and as a result her mind would get all off track and then she would never be able to pick it back up again. And she would also have time a Matteo's tomorrow for work where she wouldn't be bothered, but there was much better things to do at Matty's, because she could only sneak away every so often before Adrian started to get suspicious. Fuck it, maybe she could just rush and get it done tomorrow in the office tomorrow if her and the new girl didn't have to go out to a interview with some bastard that didn't care as long as he got paid.
Clark sat up for a moment to slip the leather jacket off her shoulders and onto the coffee table on top of some old newspapers and assorted stuff. The cold air off the lost meet her bear shoulders and raised goose flesh all along her arms and she laid back down onto the couch. Like she thought, she soon heard foot steps coming from upstairs. He had probably been washing off after work. Clark had learned never to come back too early or she would arrive to a brutal scene and her subconsciousness could never handle it. She had also learned never to ask about his day or else she would very much regret later when she would be trying to sleep. She felt warm lips against her cheek and a smirk slowly spread across her face and she open her eyes and stared up at him. she popped up and kissed him on the lips once more before answering his question."Its dreadfully boring over there now a days. But somehow I got paired up with this new girl named Antia O'shea, she needs to be caged up, she's so loud and obnoxious, I swear they want me to quit." She said rolling her eyes.
