Tears stung her steel blue eyes. Two glistening droplets cascaded down her rosy cheeks; like diamonds. Anger and infuriation pumped through her body impulsively. Why was she making things complicated? Why did she always think so negatively? “I refuse to move to France! For Merlin’s sake, listen to me. Just because you are marrying some man who has a sudden adrenaline rush to immigrate to France does not mean you have to choose his decision over your childrens.” The screaming and arguing had been like this since Katie broke the unexpected and sudden news that she was re-marrying and moving to France with her ‘fiancée’ but that was not all, for some bizarre reason she assumed that Danielle would be joining them. Reality check please?
Danielle stood shaking in the darkness, clutching her handbag, her heart racing, anger still pulsing through her body. It was several moments before she realized that she was standing outside the building she called home. Taking the first step, she moved further from the house. As she pushed and forced herself forward, her anger faded with each and every step she took, the further the better.
Inhaling the fresh, midnight air trying to block out the current events that had just occurred; where she had screamed at her mother, then grabbed her bag and stormed out ignoring her mother’s pleading calls. Surely the rest of the resident wizards that lived in the neighbourhood where peeping out their windows peering down on the dramatic scene. Merlin, she hoped it would give them something to talk about.
Where could she go?
Biting down on her glossy, plumped lips a thought crossed her mind. Why not go to her father’s? He’d be awake, wouldn’t he? It was only midnight after all and he only lived a few streets away. The thought was gone as quickly as it had come. Honestly, the last thing Danielle wanted was to tramp in on her father’s family although she was a frequent visitor but defiantly not at this time of night.
Pushing the park gate open, the witch slowly made her way over to the swing. It was dangerous at this time of night, she knew that but she only planned on staying here for awhile before returning to her mother who was probably growing premature grey hairs because of all the current stress. Sighing exhaustedly, Dani planted her bottom on the seat of the swing a gently pushed herself forward.

your eyes were covered in sunglasses when they first met mine I sat there and stared at you you didn't seem to mind the ackward ways we meet
At the Wood manor things were in complete chaos. Not unusual for this time of year unfortunatly. It didn’t matter what time of day it was or night for that matter. Something things simply never changed. It would seem that his parents, dear Victoria and Oliver were not getting along. Although his father had already had one failed attempt at a marriage so who was to say that this one would be any better. Well the young man thought that it would end up the same way, only perhaps Victoria would break his father’s heart. Unfortunatly in his early day Oliver Wood had been a little to promiscuous and cheated on his darling first wife with Victoria. That should of been the hint not to marry him in the first place. But apparently she was in love with him so much that it didn’t matter about his other infidelities. The fact that he had a whole other life with a young daughter, who was a year younger than he, meant nothing to his mother.
Oh Victoria she could be quiet foolish for the most part. He could see plain as day that his father would probably stray again with some hot younger thing that walked by. Maybe that was why he had such a problem committing to any woman that he got into a so called relationship with. Oh Tobias Wood was probably following in his father’s footsteps he would be so proud. In his mind he should of stayed with his high school sweetheart, Oliver had ruined his mother’s life. During his marriage with Katie Bell he had hooked up with his mother Victoria and there fore Tobias was born. From that part on Tobias didn’t want to know about his father but when he was five suddenly he was a part of his life. A elaborate wedding took place and they were a family. Adding to that family was another sister Isabella and a brother Kade. Tobias was always in his father’s shadow which only added to his dislike of his father.
Naturally it was a shock when he was placed into Slytherin but he loved that part of him. There was a whole other part that his parents would never see, scratch that could never see. No, Tobias didn’t mad or sad he got even when it came to his parents. Lashing out as his siblings or even his parents if he was in that mind set. Going out, sneaking out, getting into trouble and having his idea of fun. Which usually meant he took advantage of girls that fell for him. Well, well, well he sure sounded like his father. But he didn’t want to be him. In fact it some times pained him to know that he was treading that very track that his father had gone down as well. But it was like he couldn’t change who he was or who he was becoming. Something always stopped him like he was doing it in spite of his father.
The voices echoed through the house shattering the most wanted silence. His parents were at it again and this time Tobias wouldn’t sit around and take it. No, he was out and he wasn’t going to sit around and watch the ever continuing abuse. Stalking out of his bedroom and down the loud corridor, making sure he slammed the door on his way out. The silence returned for a moment then flared up once again as soon as he made it out the door. The double doors to the double life his family lived. Sure they were happy out in public but it was a facade behind the doors of the Wood Manor. A sneer appeared on his fine featured face as he turned back to look at the ivory house with dark shingles.
Stalking the rest of the way out of the picket fence enclosed yard he didn’t dare look back. Fore he may see his sister Bella looking out the window wondering where he was off to now. Bella was always trying to ‘save’ Tobias but really it was no use. He didn’t know why but something was pulling him to the little old playground just down the lane. He didn’t know why or how but he wanted to go there. Very juvenile for the seventh year slytherin but he always was big on indulging himself. No matter what the treat was. Rounding the corner he came to a dead stop. His emerald green eyes casting a glance a lone figure already accompanying the small area. Tobias thought about turning around but knew that he had already been spotted.
Damn it Tobias thought to himself as he spotted the blond figure. It was just his luck that he would run into his younger half sister when he was in a mood. In all truth he liked Danielle for a sister, much better than his full sister anyway. Being in this mind frame he didn’t really want to deal with anyone right now. Never mind one of the people he actually cared for. Which tended to put a kink in his mother’s attitude. Slowly he entered the park keeping a eye on the girl. Wondering if she had spotted him yet. Tobias walked even closer till he was standing merely feet away from her. He couldn’t help but notice she looked saddened by something and he couldn’t help but feel for her. “Danielle” he said trying to get her attention.

Why was her family life so unstable? Why was it so unsecured? She had no one to blame for this…or did she?
It was the 12th April, fifteen years go when Oliver Wood walked out on Katie Bell and his younger daughter, Danielle. When the blond girl was of the right age, she understood why her father left and not for one second could DanI blame him. No of course not, why should she blame a man who was being held down in an unhappy marriage, who constantly bickered with his wife. If there was one person who Danielle held responsible for her father walking out it was her mother. However even blaming her mother was unfair but wasn’t she the one who pushed Oliver away or was it the ‘other’ woman who trailed her father forward into her arms. Temptation was defiantly a sin in Danielle’s books.
Katie Bell had brought her daughter up alone for the majority of Danielle’s life. She lived without her father for six years, she craved for a fatherly figure in her life for six bloody years and when the day came that Oliver Wood showed his face at her door, as quick as the door opened it was shut again. If she was to be honest, Danielle would even say that she wasn’t particularly delighted to see her abandoning father once again. Apparently he had moved back into the neighbourhood with his family and the known fact had hurt, it pierced her fragile heart. The man hadn’t come to the house to see his daughter because she crossed his mind, he came because he moved only a few streets away. Coming to think of it, Danielle would defiantly give her father the ‘Best father award’ and he deserved it for being a dedicated father.
Danielle had learned of her other half siblings and her father’s other woman. The woman that had trailed her beloved father away. Victoria wasn’t a woman that Danielle had been fond of when she visited the manor to see her father and her siblings, it was pretty obvious the two had shared a mutual dislike for each other. Victoria thought Danielle was scum coming from the streets and Danielle considering Victoria to be a cold hearted bitch who was no good for her father, maybe he didn’t mother wasn’t good for Oliver either but in Danielle’s opinion her father deserved far better than both the women.
The memories of her broken childhood haunted Danielle constantly, it was like a cut that turned into a scar. It would always be there, just as ugly as it always has been. Thinking back to all those memories usually caused Danielle to break down, showing the emotional wreck that she was. However, Katie had always told her daughter that her past made her stronger, it caused her to work as hard as she could, to set herself a goal and push herself until she got where she wanted to be. That was true, through out her years, Danielle had always lived by a goal that she worked towards and was determined to achieve. The beauty of a broken childhood she guessed.
Realization quickly stuck her once again as she found herself perched on a swing in an old playground. Reality sucks. Allowing an exaggerated sigh escape from her lips as she continued to swing herself lightly, Danielle admired the dark sky. The twinkling star almost seemed like shattered glass sprawled all over a dark inky floor, it was a sight that Danielle frequently found herself admiring.
Completely oblivious to the other presence in the park, Danielle felt like a child again as she gazed at the park that she visited almost everyday of her childhood. Maybe if she did immigrate to France could she leave all this behind? The good times? Hogwarts? Her friends?…Her family? Never. “Danielle” A voice broke the silence and a confused expression was painted over her features. Who was it? That voice was so familiar. Turning her head slowly towards the direction the voice came from her glazing blue eyes landed on Tobias. Her brother. Holding her breath, her eyes widened as she immediately brought her hand to her tear stained cheeks. “Tobias?” Danielle’s tone of voice was soft, she was surprised it didn’t get lost in the wind. All feeling washed over her, for some strange reason all the witch wanted to do was go over and embrace her brother, needing the comfort that she knew he would give her.

The young man let his mind wander as he stood there just staring at the blond girl. He could remember the very first time he found out about Danielle Wood. Anger and or sadness had coursed through his veins. When he was young he didn’t understand the whole divorce slash infidelity slash sister thing just didn’t add up in his mind. For the first couple years he didn’t even want to meet his half sister never mind hear about her. But when he had finally gone to Hogwarts he had to meet her. At first he didn’t want to speak with her but he did. Whether it was out of curiosity or something else. After several conversations he couldn’t help but finding himself liking the girl. It was sad because he wanted so much not to like her. Because of everything that had happened between the two sides of the ‘family’. It seemed like they had some kind of bond as he was only one year her senior. Tobias didn’t understand it all but he didn’t want to not be her friend because of the politics behind it all.
Victoria hated that he was so close with his half sister because she told him he was betraying her. Which just completely made Tobias peeved. After all it wasn’t some written rule that he couldn’t be the girl’s friend. Either way he soon learned that it was just best to avoid the subject with his mother. On the other hand Oliver wasn’t as testy when it came to the subject of his other family. It seemed that he liked to keep in touch with the other side which didn’t bother Tobias one bit. His siblings on the hand weren’t so forgiving. Bella and Kade had a stick up there ass as far as he was concerned. Tobias tended to ignore them when they got on their high horses. In the end he learned it was best just to leave it be and walk away. Often giving him a herd of angry words but he brushed them off. That was one thing he was good at, brushing things off and moving right along.
Since Oliver had married Victoria things had been different in the Wood household. His mother’s family was loaded. Tobias had grown up with a royal stick up ass as well. But he knew when to show it and when to hide it. That was difference between him and the rest of his family. Oliver didn’t get much of a income so they depended heavily on his mother and that money. Tobias once again ignored the politics that interlaced his family. Once again he just moved on. That was a big part of his life growing up with all that damn drama. Tobias hated it all. Which was why when he looked for someone to be with he didn’t want the drama. Which was hard to find being that he was seventeen years old and in Slytherin. The two sort of went hand in hand. Sadly enough.
Tobias studied the girl’s face and couldn’t shake the feeling that she was upset. The moonlight was distorting her image but he was sure she was crying. When she lifted a hand to her face and whispered his name he knew. Tobias didn’t know what was going on but he was sure it had to do with the family drama as per usual. He took a couple steps even closer to her, filling the gap slightly. “What’s wrong” he asked. Tobias wasn’t sincere with most people but he saved it for family. Walking a couple more steps closer to her and held out a hand to help her up.
