Lilly hurried into Flourish and Botts, there was one thing she had forgotten, and that one thing happened to be the most popular spell book. The whole shop was packed full of people and most were buying the very book. She pushed herself around looking for it. It was nowhere to be seen. She sighed, she looked to see if there was anyone who looked pathetic and weak so she could snatch it off them. Nobody. She sighed and headed towards the back of the shop to search there.

Joss Hall was stroling on a Diagon Alley looking around the crowded street. She was in Gringotts to get some money her parents left her before they died. Then she pulled out a list of needed stuff for upcoming school year. Her eyes stopped on a list of handbooks. She smiled looking at them. "Flourish and Botts." she said to herself moving along. When she alredy got to the right place she opened the door and walked into with a list still in her hand. She looked around and with a corner of hr eyes she spotted first book she needed to buy. A smile entered her face again. There was nothing more important for her as books. Everyone always thought she was weird and unfriendly. She has never tried to tell them how they were wrong. So her best friends were books and her gothic accesories. Joss went through the bookshelves to find other books and then she saw someone she only heard about. The very first Potter who got sorted into Slytherin house. Joss tilted her head staring for a while at a girl. She shook her head and kept searching for books.

It was true Lilly had been the only Potter to be sorted into Slytherin. The shock it took to the family, not that she cared what they thought of her, she believed that she belonged in Slytherin and the more they complained that they wanted her to be resorted the more she told them no. She spotted the girl staring at her, and then noticed her shake her head and look away. She examined the girl from her distance, she looked like a goth... she looked like those goths you find wondering around town. wierdo she thought to herself. She remembered seeing her around once or twice, at school she looked slightly older than Lilly. Not that she cared. She made her way over and picked up a book that was next to the girl, it looked like the girl was going for the very same book. Lilly gave her the fake nice girl smile. "Hi i saw you staring at me over there.. Im Lilly... and a believe i need that book" she said her hands pulling the book towards her.

Joss was tapping every cover of books on the shelves to find the right one. When she wanted to pick up a book with a title from a list someone picked up it first. Her eyes slithly narrowed at first but then she softened her look hearing that person talking to her. It was extremely weird for her, someone saying hi and introducing. Usually she heard insultions or requests to move. "Er... yeah, for a while. I'm Joss if you care. And get it if you need it. I will find another one." she said and then looked at Lily. She looked so innocent as for a Slytherin but Joss didn't specially cared.

"Your the girl from Ravenclaw.. is it? And thank you, i will take the book." She said quite pleased to have the last part of her shopping. "What are you wearing?" She added rather rudely, though she didnt care much she just believed this girl truly needed a make over. A big make over. " You know if you added some colour into your life... and maybe change the hair style... and maybe you might get a friend" she grinned. "And maybe cut down on the books" she added looking down on to how many books this girl had.

Joss nodded her head to confirm she's a Ravenclaw. She lipped 'your welcome' at Lilly's 'thank you'. And then she heard rather rude question and opinions about her look. She wrinkled her nose and opened her eyes wisely. Well, I am who I am and noone can change it. I like my style and life of outsider. What's a pity some people cannot understand it." she responded. Lilly's words about her apperance didn't hurt her but with a comment about books she got on her trod. "I do love books. You can't understand it because you have family." she said thinking about years spent in an orphanage.

Lilly listened to what she said, about her looks that was. "Yes but you would look so much better if you changed a little... i mean its just a bit of colour.. it would do you wonders! Especially with boys" But then she was interupted by Joss going on about books and family. Lillys eyes narrowed and she gave her a cold look. "I never brought family into this. Maybe books are your family, at least im loved and i have a propper home" she replied in a mean tone but instantly felt guilty about what she had said, though she didn't show it.

A Ravenclaw sighed. There wasn't a reason to argue because of such a stupid think like her apperance. Even though she added "Balck and white is what I need. Nothing else. I don't care about boys. If they can not like me now, adding a bit of colour will change nothing." she looked down at her bovver boots. Her eyes started getting wet because indeed books were her family. She had noone. Noone who loved her, who cared about her. In the orphanage everyone was rude and couldn't stand her. They were really happy when they got a chance to get rid of her. "Sorry, maybe I shouldn't say that." she looked aside holding tightly her books.

"Yes maybe you shouldnt have." Lilly stared at the girl, she felt a twinge of more guilt. "Hey, at least Hogwarts, kinda classes as a family... just a really big one" She laughed it of, noticing this girl was about to cry. She sighed. "Im sure you have a ... family... perhaps you should seek them out yourself?" She questioned though wasnt sure if it was the right thing to say she knew nothing about this girls parents they could both be dead or something. She looked at the girl. "Well thats what i'd do.. i didnt mean to offend you by the way.. just things come out when people are.... differant than me.." she nodded quite pleased on her apology, she rarely ever gave them out but she thought this one was rather decent even though it had sounded lame.

Joss sighed and wipped a tear which dropped on her cheek. "Maybe... But I have been told my parents are dead and that they hadn't anyone too. So, you see I'm alone. But it's not that bad. I just had to grew-up earlier." she force a smile onto her face. "And you didn't have to apoligize. I'm used to different comments about myself."

Lilly listened as she said her parents were dead. Oops. she thought to herself. "Well sorry... about your parents i didn't know, if i did i probably would have said it.." she said choosing the words carefully. " well this is awkward.." she finally said.
"Well i guess it isnt so bad being differant.. well it is.. but... you know i don't even know what im trying to say" she laughed, trying to cheer up the moment.

Joss forced a small smile. She nodded her head before she spoke again "I appreciate your tries. And don't feel awkward only because of me." her eyebrows arched up as she heard othr words of Lilly. SHe shook her head instead of rolling her eyes. "Well, there is a chance that I know." she said winking at her. "Everything waht I had experienced in my life gave me a gift understand better what people really mean." her smile was full now. She didn't care about first talk anymore.
