It was only a matter of time. It never failed, never. Every time things managed to settle down, and Robert was happy and had his family all back together and somewhat normal, something made it all go to shit - again. Every single time. This was starting to irritate Robert to no end. This was suppose to be a stress free year. It was his year off of the drama, or some thing tragic or whatever else. It was his year to just sit back, relax, and enjoy life to the best of his ability before he dropped dead with a stroke or something. Robert was suppose to be going through the usual sleepless nights and what not with a new baby, spending quality time with Talia, and Mandy - and the the rest of their spawn. Of course, because he dreamed of a tranquil year - it wasn't going to happen.
First, Bellatrix and her croonies just had to go kill Kelsey. Robert, in all his life, had never felt like such a failure, or such pain those weeks she was gone. Worse, when the Ministry was attacked, and he nearly killed Kelsey, and then realized she was alive - there was more pain washed in with the extreme joy. Knowing that Kelsey was right, that he should have left her there, he couldn't. So now, he was always lurking about, checking in with different sources making sure Bellatrix wasn't coming for Kelsey. The bitch should just give up by now. Robert would never stop fighting her, not until one of them was dead. From the looks of it, he would be the one dying first. If that's what it would take, Robert was prepared. He had everything prepared in case that did happen.
After that business had calmed down, Robert relaxed just a little. That was mistake. One day, while he was sitting in his little study, writing Victoria a little owl to see how the Hogwarts term was going, he got a nice little letter. It was written by someone that met him once, although he did not entirely remember this Jinx person, a faint memory of her did come to mind. A meeting wtih Bellatrix, or something one time or other. Anyway, this Jinx Jenkins character asked him to meet her, at the Green Dragon (because he was oh-so thrilled of going there, of all places) at of course, a time after sundown. Oh but of course, she would want to meet him at night. Why would anyone want to tell him "information" in broad day light?
The next evening, Kels had invited him over for something or other. When he got there, she had the twins in birthday hats, and she had brought him out a cake. Robert had hoped that everyone would just forget. He didn't want anything for his birthday. Heck, even he forgot his own birthday until the day after. Oh, who cared. He didn't. He was only...older. He was pretty sure he was getting wrinkles on his forehead. Robert was not too thrilled about that, not at all. When he was preparing to leave, Kelsey pretty much pryed it out of him, where he was going and blah, blah, blah. She didn't like the idea of him going, and said something along the lines of he was going to be killed. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. IF there really was new information about the tragic Christmas Ball, Robert would like to know it, and hopefully deliver that to the Order and what was left of the Auror's. It might be something to help them at least get that resolved and possibly get the Ministry back. The only way he was going to find out was to show up.
With much hesitation, Robert found himself inside the Green Dragon. He couldn't remember the last time he was here. Maybe he was never here, he couldn't remember. It didn't matter, he just knew he didn't like being here of all places. Why must people insist on meeting him in some pub? Had they not got the "I'm-no-a-drunk-anymore" memo? The place was creepy, and equally creepy when her realized no one was there...except, for whom he assumed to be Miss Jenkins. This was just fantastic. After a quick moment, Robert walked over the occupied table and sat down across from Jinx. Might as well just get this bloody over with.
Robert had not come unprepared. He had his wand tucked in his sleeve, just in case. He wasn't going to come unprepared, he was ready for pretty much anything. Heck, Robert had seen it all and them some. What else could there possibly be? "Well, I'm here. You have five minutes so get talking," he said the moment he sat down. Robert did not want to stay her longer than he had to. Five minutes was too much time in his opinion. More than enough to just get this over with so he could go back home.

"Five minutes," he repeated. As curious as Robert maybe, he wasn't stupid. This whole emptying the place to avoid distrurbances was all too fishy looking to him. It was more like she didn't want any witnesses around, rather than disturbances. Robert glanced at the glass for brown liquid that was pushed near him. His face furrowed into a brow. What in Merlin's name could she have to say that would make him take a drink? Someone better be dead.
Jack Lestrange and Zhen Ji are alive and well. In fact Jack is on his way to London as we speak if he is not already here. Beyond those two sentences, Robert heard nothing Jinx had to say. It went one in ear, and out the other. His mind came to a screeching hault. Jack Lestrange, alive and well. That bastard was here?! Robert wasn't sure who he was like to strangle more; Kelsey, Bellatrix, or Jack. In this current moment, Jack skipped to number one and Kelsey was in a close second. Maybe they were tied. Nonetheless, this was just no good. It could not possibly be true. This was all some practical joke, right? Pretty soon people would just jump out and say surprise, yes? .....no. Well, that was depressing.
Robert rose slowly and walked, in a sort of tranced state, over to the bar. Leaning over the counter, his hand grasped a bottle of vodka, and his feet led him back to sit down at the table. Robert tossed out the contents of the glass to the floor, and replaced it with the vodka, taking nearly all it's contents in one large gulp. She was right, he was going to need that drink - only he wouldn't waste his time with...whatever it was she was drinking. It was good ol' vodka for him and nothing else.
"When you say alive and well, you mean...breathing, heart beating, walking alive and well?" he asked, although he knew the answer. "Dont answer that," Robert added. After a moment of silence passed, her previous words were finally processed in his brain. Jinx wanted to help him..just to piss Jack off? That seemed like a stupid thing to do. If this was even true, if Jack really was back here, Robert would just lock his family up and throw away the key. There was no no way he was going to let that asshole come near Kelsey ever again. Why now? Of all times, why now? So much for that year off of work or something like that.
"I don't want to know anything more than I have to about him," Robert said, with a slight grimace. The less information the better. He knew the basics, that was enough. "You said something about a deal?" he asked, looking at her questioningly. Really, couldn't she have been like "jack is back, have a nice day" and end it in a letter? That would have been far more easier than having to sit here and let it mull over in his head, not that that wouldn't happen at home. It would just on a much grander scale.

"Conditions?" he snorted. Robert had a feeling these "conditions" were just something to make him take the deal, which he wouldn't. That was already decided. There was no way he was going to let one of them back in Hogwarts. Not after the last time. No way in Hell. Robert would have to be dead before their lot got back in there. For all he knew, that would be sooner than later. No, Jack wouldn't kill him - that would too easy for him.
"Why do you people honestly think, even if I can choose, that I would let one of you lot in?" he asked, twisting back to look at her by the door after he had taken a long silence. "He's right, I'm not going to accept. I trust any of them, especially someone I don't know. I'm not going to entrust them to protect, teach, or discipline my students. You know it doesn't matter if I except or not, Jack willl be here to do his little games with me," he said, remarkably remaining calm. On the inside, he was far from it. If he could, he would just go kill them all, and then ressurect them and kill them all again.
Robert sighed and rubbed his forehead. "You might as well...sit down," he sighed. He didn't even want to be here this long but, as the circumstances were, he stayed. She would get more than five minutes from him. "The only thing I want to know about Jack Lestrange, is how to kill him. If you won't help with that, fine. Then..you can go and we can say this whole thing never happened," he said. He wished he could erase all that, obliviate her maybe. No, he wasn't all that good with those spells.
