It was lovely. The sights of dead bodies strewn across the ministry, people running and screaming, begging for mercy. The place was in absolute shambles, and why shouldn't it be? Desks looked as if they had been abandoned in haste, papers strewn amidst limbs and bodies. There were random shoes and articles of clothing scattered about. The whole scene just screamed Utter Disaster. And that was exactly what it was, if you were on the side of the order.
The death eaters had infiltrated the ministry, and Damien had been right there with them. He was, after all, a death eater himself. It had been such a pleasure to burst in and begin killing people. Just what he needed in his mundane life.
Damien now strolled through level 3, the department of magical accidents and catastrophes. A bit ironic, actually, that he had come to this level. He supposed what was going on would be considered a catastrophe if you were not on Bellatrix Lestrange's side, yet there was nothing anyone could do about it. Bellatrix had named herself mistress of magic, end of story. Anyone who questioned her would most likely be killed.
He sighed and smiled as he rounded a corner, coming upon some stragglers who had decided to hide where they thought they'd be safe. Oh, how foolish these ministry officials were. He simply smirked at them before raising his wand. "Avada Kedavra." Damien spoke, seeing the green light burst from the end of his wand and kill all those in it's path. He strolled casually over to the corpses, making sure they were all dead before moving on with his business.
Damien continued to walk around this level, making sure there were no more officials or order members left alive before beginning to make his way back to the elevators. He had been given the task of flushing the place of all those who remained. Of course, this was something he was all too glad to do. Even so, he wished it was a bit more of a challenge. Taking over was fun, yes. But it would have been much more of an adventure if someone had stood up to the death eaters, rather than running and hiding like scared little rats.
Pocketing his wand as he reached the elevators, Damien ran a hand through his hair. He was sure he had done his job thouroughly, but he couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched. He glanced behind him momentarily, seeing no one and forcing himself to shrug off the feeling and get on with his job. After all, who would be following him around after they had witnessed what had just happened? When Victoire woke up this morning, it wasn't treated any different than any other morning. The one thing different she did do, was look at her ring, just to make sure it was still there and that it wasn't all some dream. Everything just seemed to have fallen together, the way things were suppose to be. Everything was just...perfect. Rolling out of bed, Victoire slipped on a bath robe and carried on with her usual morning routine. She had her morning tea, fed her cat, took a shower, and dressed for work. It was a normal, happy morning. That was all about to change.
On her arrival to work, the first half of the day went on as normally as her morning was. The day in the Auror Office was quiet. It was a bit unsettling. Halfway through the morning, a sudden feeling kicked in. One of those..gut feelings. Victoire got the feeling that something was going to happen, she didn't know what but, she knew it wouldn't be good. She tried to shake it, moving her mind onto other things like work...the wedding, which a date still needed to be picked for. Maybe that was something she could bring up to Ted later. Even with those happy thoughts, that gut feeling weighed it down a bit.
No one suspected a thing. There weren't any leaks of information to the Ministry or the Order. No one knew that the Death Eater's were going to attack. As the alarm sprang through the Ministry, they were all on high alert. Certain files were immediately hidden in undisclosed locations, and some went out to the other floors. Victoire was one of those some. With the attack in motion, Victoire slipped out of the office the minute she heard it. It was her duty to go, and she knew she had to leave before Teddy tried to stop her - she knew he would.
Victoire worked her way through levels, prompting other officials to either fight back or go hide somewhere. As she was trying to make her way to the Atrium, she saw a lone Death Eater get off the elevator onto the third level - where she happened to be. She didn't attack him right away. He didn't notice her, and Vic wanted the element of surprise on her side. Victoire watched from the shadows, some were still hiding here. She watched, frozen, as the Death Eater killed them. Victoire wasn't about to let him just walk away. She witnessed him murder, for that by law - she could either arrest or kill him.
She watched for a few more moments as he headed back to the elevator. He wouldn't be making it. He made the mistake of putting his wand away. Slowly she stepped out of the shadows behind the Death Eater, and put her wand to his back. "Don't even think about getting that wand out of your pocket," she said darkly.

He heard her before she even spoke. He was about to reach for his wand, which he now realized was something he never should have put away, but she was quicker than he. "Don't even think about getting that wand out of your pocket," she said darkly, pressing her wand against his back. If she was trying to scare him, it didn't work. But he had to give her credit for her bravery. It was just too bad that she probably wouldn't be around to display that bravery after today, unless she was lucky.
Damien raised his hands, faking surrender. He was doing a pretty good job of it too if he said so himself. He tried his best to make it seem like he wasn't about to do anything, but of course he was. He waited for a moment before turning suddenly and grabbing her wand arm with one hand, and her wand with the other. He twirled it around in his fingers gloatingly. "Well, well, well.....lookie who we have here..." Damien said, voice cold as ice as he still held her wand. "It's been a while, Weasley." He said, recognizing her from Hogwarts. She had been a few years older than him, yes, but he recognized her nonetheless.
Damien gave the girl a once over, knowing she was probably a lot stronger and craftier than she looked. After all, she was an order member. "So what now, Weasley? You challenge me to a duel? Or did you have something else in mind?" He asked, a smirk growing on his face. He wasn't sure what he was doing, but he was having fun. He reached into his pocket, took out his wand, and took a few steps away from her.
Now that his wand was safely back in his hand, Damien felt safe tossing her her wand back. After all, what kind of man would he be if he attempted to kill a defenseless woman? Not that a woman being defenseless had stopped him from killing one before.

Bellatrix strolled through the ministry, her ministry, fleeting glances gleefully at the bodies of the hundreds of ministry officials. It had taken a lot of planning and preparation, first the whole business with Kelsey and then swallowing her pride and teaming up with Jinx and her crew. But her hard work had paid off. She was now the mistress of magic, andd nobody would question her and live to regret it.
Standing amidst the carnage she shot curses at any witch or wizard left alive who was not on her side. Screams were echoing through the building as one by one her enemies were tortured by Bella's keen wand, and then put out of their misery with two little words. After so long remaining in hiding and pretending to be dead, it felt so wonderfully good to put her magic to some use. As well as thoroughly enjoying torturing and killing her victims, she was also having a fabulous time ripping up any and all pictures of the previous mistress of magic. No sign of her would ever be visible again.
Laughing, Bella headed up to a floor that dealt with accidents or something like that. This was all hers. The walls, the floors, the desks, the death eaters, they were all hers. She was brought out of thought as she noticed two figures, one of which she recognized as Damien, a death eater, and the other was a woman who she didn't recognize. She presumed her to be a ministry official. Strange. Why hadn't she been killed dead a long time ago?
"What's going on?" she demanded, her voice screeching through the silence. It was deafeningly quiet after all the screams, and that noise had gradually died down to nothing. "What are you waiting for Damien?" she enquired, her eyes narrowed. "Kill her!" She had her own wand tightly gripped in her hand and aimed at the woman. She had no possible way to escape.

He was a tad to quick for her. Victoire struggled to keep a good gripe on her wand but, he managed to take it away. Great, now she was screwed. Although, they were close enough..a swift kick where the sun don't shine and he'd be done on the ground crying for his mommy. Victoire pulled her arm back at least, frowning at him. She blinked in disbelief as he said her name, well her last name. She was almost tempted to correct him, even though technically she wasn't married yet. No, there wasn't a need to drag Ted into this, none at all. Besides, he wasn't even here - thank Merlin. She figured he would find her soon enough anyway, knowing him.
Victoire didn't recognize the boy. She tried but, no such luck. He must known her from Hogwarts, who didn't know her then. He must be younger than her, that would explain why she didn't recognize him. Nonetheless, he was a Death Eater. This was her fight, for once she would get to fight. She wouldn't go down without one. Victoire caught her wand as he gave it back. Dumbass, why give it back? Moron, complete moron. She held her wand tightly, pointing it at him, ready to strike just in case. "A duel? How silly of me. No, I was going to ask you to go on a picnic. Of course a duel you bloody moron! You just murdered innocent, good, people who happened to be Ministry officials. You don't get to walk away from that," she said.
Any fear she was feeling, Victoire hide it from him. She was scared, scared out of her mind actually but, she couldn't let it get in the way. Not now. What was important was her job, protect the Ministry to the best of her ability even if that meant death. The room felt colder as Bellatrix strolled in. Victoire didn't even notice her until she spoke. She turned around slowly, and saw her standing there. Victoire froze for a minute. She looked between Bellatrix and Damien, before slowly stepping away from them. "You...you can't kill everyone," she said, swallowing. "I mean..you can't possibly have enough Death Eaters left to run the entire Ministry," she said, with a shred of confidence.

The silence in the building was too good to be true. Cracks of spells sounded down the halls and he stuck his head out of the office he had been visiting, frowning as he realized suddenly, these were not common spells being thrown. The evil sound of curses being thrown accompanied the screams that begun to ring in the air, and he took off at a run. He skidded to a halt at the scene, throwing his own wand in the fray, he attempted to adress the scene, while still keeping his own head on straight. Bodies were everywhere. Spells flying every direction, and dark faces screwed up in mixed glee and terror. His eyes narrowed. He recognized these faces.
Gut wrenching, he flew towards the auror's office, fear for his new fiance's life (guiltily) overpowering his need to help those who were already falling. Something pulled at his mind... An instinct he had learned long ago not to ignore. But a man stood in his way. His eyes narrowed as he took in the large frame of the shadowed-face man. He did not recognize this figure from his lists, nor from the black and white wanted photos hanging in the office he so needed to reach. "Move." He growled, his voice low, but the man didn't budge, save for his wand hand. Teddy didn't have time for his. His own wand struck out, and the man lay unconscious before him. Teddy didn't even look back.
Skidding towards the office, he looked around in dismay at the empty desks, thinking foolishly why he had even bothered to check there. Of course she would have left to help... If he had had time, he would have smacked himself in the head. Where would she be... where would she be... His hand shook, unable to even think what he would do if she got herself hurt. Anger, frustration and worry drove his instincts. Racing down the halls, he lost count how many he left behind unconscious, and how many times he had come close to loosing his own head in the rushed way he sped around and through the fray. Chaos was everywhere... Had there been warning of this attack, it would not be this way... and the fights would be minimized so that he could just follow his ears. But screams rang out everywhere.
He cursed silently under his breathe, damning every god-damned death-eater name he knew. By the time he had finished his long list, he came to a skidding halt on level three, facing a man, his soon to be wife and Bellatrix herself. Breathing hard from the run, he raised his own wand, pointing it steadily at the throat of Bellatrix. "I will not hesitate if you even so much as breathe." He yelled into her face. Keeping his eyes on her, she spoke to the boy. "And if you dont want your master killed you will lower your wand bastard." His nice-side had been gone for a while now. His fury showing through. With this he could built up a deadly curse if he had to. That was the only way they played. And apparently Vic had gotten herself caught up in their game. "Lower your wand." He said, his voice shook with fury. Distantly, out of the corner of his eye he saw Vic's reaction at his appearance. And realized, too late, that she was unarmed. Damn. "Now."
He waited for a reaction, continuing talking, hoping to at the very least keep the boy partially distracted, still, he calculated. Thankful once again for being able-minded in the way of multitasking. "I see you have got yourself a pretty catch... It would a pity to loose something so fine wouldn't it boy?" With time, he could deal with the way this man looked at his woman; he could never deal with it if she lay dead at his feet. He figured forcing the boy to the first option was better than the latter. At least for now they do not know my relationship to her... that, for now, is a blessing.. He cursed himself silently as he forced his eyes to hold Belatrix's instead of straying to his beloved. Why couldn't she have stayed out of trouble just this once??

Damien had hesitated in killing the girl for too long. This was all too evident in the tone that Bellatrix used in her voice as she screamed at him to kill her. Raising his wand to do the deed, he could see the fear in the girl's eyes. It was a shame that she was about to die. Such a pretty girl....
Damien was about to do it when she spoke. Turned her back on him and faced Bellatrix. The girl began to try and talk Bellatrix out of killing her...Saying she couldn't possibly have enough death eaters to run the ministry. How dare she speak to the dark lady in such a manner. As if she were equal to her. Damien's jaw dropped at the girl's audacity. "Who do you think you are?" He asked, obviously angry that someone thought they could stand up to his master in such a way. "I promise you, you will sincerely regret that you ever tried to stand up to the Dark Lady." He said.
Damien raised his wand, the curse on the tip of his tongue, as someone else burst into the room and pointed their wand at Bellatrix. He reacted without hesitation, grabbing the girl and pointing his wand at her throat. He smirked as he held the girl in front of him, eyeing the man who had just threatened Bellatrix's life. "You make one move, and I kill her. Although, I'm probably going to kill her anyway....and if you try and curse me, She'll get hit. So don't try it." He said. Damn, how he wished he had just killed her when he had the chance instead of dilly dallying around like he had done.
You could feel the tension in the room as everyone stared at each other, waiting for someone to make a move. It was obvious that there was going to be a fight, but no one knew who would start it. Damien kept his wand pointed at the girl's throat, simply waiting for something to happen.

Bellatrix smirked as the girl turned to face her, murmuring something or other about how she didn't have enough Death Eaters to run the ministry. Did she honestly think she could talk her way out of being killed? Bellatrix could quite easily run the ministry all on her lonesome. Her Death Eaters helping her out were merely a tool to make things ever so slightly easier. She narrowed her eyes at Damien, waiting for him to do his job.
Before anything could be done, however, she felt the tip of a wand point into her neck, and the threats of an angry auror pouring out towards her. Just as she had trained him to do, Damien grabbed the girl and used her as his hostage. He may have been pretty slow on the uptake with his killing skills, but he was adequately fast when it came to last minute plans.
Smiling, she turned around to face her attacker so that his wand was pointed directly at her head. "What good will it do you to kill me?" she asked in a tone of false friendliness. "Your girl over there will die, and in turn so will you." Her eyes locked onto his. She had always prided herself on having a very convincing stare. Few people managed to resist feeling fear when met by her eyes.

Teddy raised his eyes at the boy. "I highly doubt I shall regret doing what I was trained to do boy" He spat back at him. His eyes narrowed as the man gripped his soon-to-be wife to him, but he fought to let it go. Instead, his hand remained steadily pointed at Bellatrix. He turned his glare towards her, not allowing his gaze to wander. Her eyes did not unnerve him... only make him wary.
He laughed, his tension breaking through in a fit of booming laughs that seemed to echo in his own ears. "What good will it do?? You are kidding me right? Gods! They told me you were intelligent! I would be ridding the world of an evil, regardless if it is just one. That my dear devil would be worth the death of two talents." He narrowed his eyes again, smiling a crazed smile that didn't suit his face. "Your threats do not scare me. And though few can apparently not resist you, I have a feeling I may be lucky this time. I am a rare species that is unaffected by your presence. You are one more death eater. I've dealt with them since I was born." Silently he thought ...but this time is different... you hold someone i love.... He just prayed he wouldn't lose his head over it. Brave words for someone who didn't feel them this time... Every syllable would be true... If only Vic was out of the picture.
He debated silently which path to take, unsure if different threats would have a different impact. Vic had already tried siding with them... "Pity though, if we were to duel..." He hesitated. "At least so soon..." His eyes shifted to Vic quickly, then back, before Bellatrix could take advantage. "Free her without harm, and I will show you the vaults of documents you would surely find useful. They were hidden and spelled before your party could stop us." He swallowed, knowing he could lose his job over this. "Free her... and I will show you... and then we can see who's arm is faster in a duel. I'm not bargaining for my own life here if you had noticed. By all means... kill me after you have your gold in document form. Just... let her go." She would think he was either over-confident or stupid. He just prayed it would work.
He clenched his free hand into a fist, struggling to keep his wand hand steadily pointed at Bellatrix. "You still get me..." He added for measure. "What is one girl?" He smiled cockily at her, refusing to turn to his beloved and see her eyes. He would not be able to stand the emotion within them. He had to do this. "What do you say dark queen?" He bowed his head mockingly, keeping his eyes locked on Bellatrix's, determined to piss them both off, and turn the anger towards him and away from Vic. He struggled to keep his eyes away from Vic's face. He would face torture for her... or worse... but he could never face the look she was most definitely giving the back of his head now.

"I promise you, you will sincerely regret that you ever tried to stand up to the Dark Lady."
Victoire looked at Damien and perked up her eyebrow. Gee, that sounded threatening. "Tried to stand up? I'm pretty sure I just did," she said. This was the fun part of the job, the part she missed. The snarky little comments between the good guy and the bad guy before the good guy kicks some serious ass. In her opinion, is was the best part of the job. Plus, it was rewarding to know that you saved a few lives maybe, even if you have pay with your own. It is always a possibility, they knew that going into training. This attack, however, made training look really lame.
"I will not hesitate if you even so much as breathe."
Victoire froze and looked to see Ted. She couldn't be surprised that he found her. Really, of all things he could doing he had to come find her. It was a good thing though, for now. She was sort of in a pickle. Victoire had to roll her eyes when Damien grabbed her. Of course, grab the girl - classic bad guy move. She faked a struggle, but wasn't really trying to get away completely. It kind of bothered her really but, she went along with it. In the meantime, she quickly formulated a plan in her head. When all else fails, sometimes you have to use physical force when you lose you wand. Victoire had a few tricks up her sleeves, to at least this guy away from her and get her own wand back.
"...By all means... kill me after you have your gold in document form. Just... let her go."
Victoire looked away frowning. She dreamed about this once. He offers his life for her's, blah, blah, blah, and she had to go through losing him all over again. She hoped that they at least hadn't figured out that they were together, that it was horribly obvious by Ted's entrance. Victoire looked up, looking between Bellatrix and Ted. She wondered if she really would take up his offer. Victoire doubted that she would live through it herself. Bellatrix was ruthless and could easily just kill the both of them after getting what she wanted. The thought of losing him wasn't something that she really needed to think about right now. Victoire glared at Ted for a minute. If he thought he wasn't' going to hear about all this when this was over, he had another thing coming. "Lupin, we really have to stop meeting like this," she spoke up, as if it were a normal conversation.
Victoire gave him a quick look before raising her foot and kicking back, kicking Damien in the knee and then elbowing him in the ribs with as much force as she could. Her wand lay on the ground, having dropped it when Damien grabbed her. The small bit of wandless magic that Victoire could do helped, as she was able to accio her wand to her hand. Turning slightly she looked at Damien, pointing her wand at him. "Now, I'm just pissed off. I mean really, that is so cliche to grab the girl and hold her hostage," she said to him glaring. "Lupin is just has an ego the size of China and thinks he has to save the day all the time. He really needs to get over himself, and so do you." Victoire might be digging herself a bigger hole but, she wasn't just going to stand there and do nothing. She was going to kick some ass damn it.

Damien chose to ignore the man's snarky remark to him as he kept his grip on the girl. It was quite obvious that he had some romantic feelings for her, and he figured he would offer some information in exchange for the girl's freedom. This offer came mere seconds after Damien thought it. He rolled his eyes at the man's insolence: Sure, the information he gave would buy them both a bit more time together, but it would only be putting off their deaths. There was no way Bellatrix was going to let two aurors out alive, and Damien, being her faithful follower, wasn't going to either.
He kept a tight grip on the girl, wand pointed steadily at her throat, as he watched the scene unfolding before him. Sure, it was sweet that the man was willing to sacrifice his own life for this girl, but it would never work. He knew what would happen: Either Bellatrix would laugh in his face and kill him now, or she would agree to his offer and let him lead her to the information. He'd give her what she desired, at which point she would dispose of him. And the girl. They would both be dead in the end, and no amount of bargaining or pleading would prevent that.
Damien allowed his eyes to float back to the girl as she spoke. The words coming out of her mouth were too casual, as if she were having tea with an old friend. Damien didn't like that. He didn't like it one bit. No doubt she had been trained to remain calm in the face of certain death, trained to convince others she wasn't going to do anything. He was wary of her as he looked back at Lupin, gauging his reaction. It was in this moment of distraction that she acted. She swiftly kicked Damien in the knee, causing it to buckle, before elbowing him in the ribs and scrambling out of his grip. He watched her access her wand, trying hard to force the pain out of his mind. She was not going to get away with that.
No sooner had the wand touched her hand than it was pointed at Damien. He glared at her as she spoke, eyes filled with malice. He raised his wand and pointed it directly at the girl. As soon as her mouth closed, he pounced. "Crucio." He snarled, the curse bounding out of his wand and towards the girl. Damien glanced up at the man momentarily, smirking. He knew that seeing his beloved being tortured would drive him insane. Damien tore his eyes away from Lupin's pained face and looked back to the girl, who was now writhing in pain under the curse.

Bellatrix watched the girl as she wriggled out of Damien's clutches. She shouldn't have found it that easy to get away, and Damien would most certainly pay for his incompetence later. For now though, she had a more pressing matter at hand. The girl had addressed her knight in shining armour as 'Lupin'. Bella was a lot of thing but she most certainly was not stupid. If you call an apple an orange in does not make it an orange, just as the girl calling her friend Lupin did not automatically mean that was his true identity. Of course it didn't really matter. Whatever his name was he would be dead very very soon.
She thought about his proposition that he show her where important documents were stashed on the proviso that she let his lady friend go. Pity the person who ever tried to form an alliance with Bella. Did people not yet realise just how heartless she was? Sure, she would go along with it until she got what she wanted, but what happened after that she could not be held responsible for her actions.
She was preparing to deliver her verdict on his proposition when Damien shot the Cruciatus curse at the female. Bellatrix nodded with approval. At least he wasn't completely useless. Deciding that he certainly shouldn't be entitled to all of the fun, Bella shot that same, wondrous curse at the Lupin character stood before her. Of how she relished the chance to perform that curse. A number of times she had just randomly selected a few muggles minding their own business, and tortured them just for the fun of it. And it was most definitely fun. Bella had three loves in this here world... the Dark Lord, power and torture.
As she screamed out "Crucio!" her thoughts wondered back to what she had been planning on saying before the commotion started. She would allow this man to lead her to important documents and, just as he had predicted, she would then kill him. Then, what was stopping her from killing the female? But first, she would have a little fun of her own.

Her words broke his focus, as too many times it did. For the first time since he had encountered her, his eyes tore away from Bellatrix to meet the eyes of his fiance. Was this all worth it? Chances were, even if he lead Bellatrix to the documents, he would still end up dead. He accepted this fact without a second thought. He would die for her without a second thought. But... could she handle his death? And what of her after? Even if she did manage to move on she would be constantly hunted down, all ranges of Bellatrix's hounds sniffing her out until she was found and burned. Not like they were not already in that situation... He hesitated, frozen for that mere moment that fear had his time in it's grip. At least he would give her a chance. With effort, he snapped out of his form of a trance. He focused on her eyes, and frowned at what he saw within them. He hesitated, then turned back.
Forcing his eyes to Bellatrix, having already been distracted for long enough, he responded, voice as steady as he could make it. "Indeed we do..." He growled back, hoping she got his drift. "You really do need to stop getting yourself in so much trouble. Our job is to help people... not have to help each other." He refused to give up her name. Whether their company noticed or not, he didn't care. They may hesitate at his name after the generations behind his family history... but hers may only aggravate bellatrix to strike without and further prodding.
Almost instantly, and without warning, she had him down. He grinned widely, not bothering to help her, knowing she would be alright now. He focused his attention back to Bellatrix, having been distracted by the sudden movements. His mouth twitched slightly in amusement at her comment towards him. It wasn't the first time she had voiced this. Last time though... he was not at a stand point with Bellatrix... He cursed their combined luck. What drove her to come after Bellatrix of all people without assistance?? They were trained to work as a team in such situations, not solo. And in such situations where Belatrix was involved, it should be more than 2, especially when she had one of her mindless cronies with her. Yes, they were normally stupid... but this lack of a brain could potentially make them more dangerous.
This theory was quickly proven. She barely had time enough to finish her little speech than the death eater acted. She really needed to learn to quit the talking and pay attention. He should have been saying the same thing for himself. He flinched for her, feeling her pain. It took all he had to keep him rooted to the spot and not run to her side. He reminded himself that his steady wand pointed at Bellatrix was the only thing keeping this hell in chains. But his wand didn't do much when he wasn't paying attention. Too distracted by the fury that boiled inside towards this man standing in front of him, he lost track of Bellatrix. Not realizing what she was doing until he felt the pain.
Doubling over, his face screwed up in agony. He tensed, the only thing he had to credit for the reason he stayed standing for a time. He stumbled, but managed not to fall completely. Falling to his knees, he reminded himself numbly quit the thinking and rely on instincts when curses start to fly... unable to think much else, he focused on his fury towards the man, focusing on his fiance a few meters in front of him. This, and only this kept him from completely submitting. His training threatened to fail him, unable to resist the curse that held his body, mind and soul. But as he focused on her pain-streaked face, his body rebelled. "ENOUGH!" He screamed, unable to keep the pain from his voice. He shook from the aftermath of the curse he had thrown mentally away from his body. Glaring bloody murder up at his torturer and his torturer's crook. Yes... they could begin the curse again... but at least for now he could breathe.
Breathing hard, he collected his wand which he had dropped only an arm's reach from his side. His muscles burned and protested every movement, but he ignored this as much as physically possible and held the wand despite the groan that escaped his lips involuntarily. Digging nails into the wood of his wand, he clenched it as if it was his life. Voice shaking, he glared up at Bellatrix, unable to lift his wand, not even able to conjure enough motivation to lift himself back onto his own two feet. "I take it thats a no then..." He mumbled sarcastically. On the plus side he was alive... on the negative side... something told him that was not the last time he would fall to his knees.

Victoire tossed Ted a look. It's not like she got herself in trouble on a daily basis. Now was not the time to really argue with him about it. She would save that for later. Although, it would be comical if they got into some sort of row at this moment in time. Still, it wasn't the time but, that thought brought a slight smile to her face. Besides, it wasn't like she went looking for trouble intentionally. Victoire could have handled this kid perfectly fine on her own, only Bellatrix showed up. She knew she couldn't take both of them but, she planned on trying.
She hadn't realized she had herself slightly distracted by looking at Ted quickly. Her opponent didn't even hesitate. Victoire didn't even have enough time to reaction after the words left his mouth. In a split second, as they were standing relatively close, the Unforgivable hit her chest. Victoire gasped in pain, stumbling back a few steps and dropping to the floor. She had been lucky enough to never have experienced this curse before, and now she wished she never would have.
Victoire tried to hold in a painful cry/scream but, failed miserable. She kicked at the floor, not that it would help. Tears blurred her eyes so she couldn't see. Victoire mustered enough strength to pat around her in attempts to find her wand, which was dropped as she fell to the floor. She panicked when she couldn't feel it, but pain had more or less taken over everything. It was the only thing she could think about the entire time the curse lasted. Vic laid there, not even wanting to move, knowing that it would hurt. It would take time for the curse to completely wear off.
Victoire rolled over on her side. Even though it hurt like hell, she pushed herself up to a sitting position, just glaring up at Damien. She never wanted hurt a person, or kill one but, she really wanted to cause him physical injury. Victoire turned her head painfully and looked at Ted. She was vaguely aware but, she thought he was hit with the same curse. Victoire knew it probably tortured him more to see her in such pain but, at the same time he was feeling it. She looked between Ted, Bellatrix, and Damien. They had to find a way to get out of this, alive.

Damien quickly stole a glance at Bellatrix as she unleashed the same curse on Lupin. No doubt he'd be in great trouble later for taking so long to act, but at least he was of some use now. If there was one thing Bellatrix loved, it was torturing people. He lowered his eyes back to the girl as he lifted the curse. She slowly pushed herself up into a sitting position and glared, no doubt trying to make herself seem harder than she really was. It wasn't fooling Damien.
He looked over at the man, who he now knew was romantically involved with this girl, and smirked. "Oh, poor little Lupin didn't like seeing his little lover tortured, did he?" Damien said in response to his cry. Damien's voice was cold and lifeless, showing no real sorrow for Lupin's plight. Anything he said was complete sarcasm. He glanced back and forth between the two momentarily before raising his wand once more. "What do you say we make this more interesting?" He said, staring directly at the boy with a smirk as he decided on which curse to use.
The curse came to his mind quite quickly. He kept his gaze locked on the man, knowing that seeing his girlfriend in such pain would undoubtedly be torturous enough. "Sectumpsempra" Damien said, loosing the curse on the girl. It took merely a moment for the curse to hit the girl, as sharp wounds appeared over her skin. Damien did love this curse, and the pain it inflicted. It brought a sinister smile to his face.
