[/img] So Here I Am; I'm TryingSo Here I Am; Are You ReadyLet's Start This Again, For Real Lexi Kenndal Dumeass was a perfectly simple girl. She didn’t cause drama, nor have many friends. She merely existed. Not to say she wasn’t involved in drama, because she was, she just didn’t cause it. It was so easy to just slip into a crowd, to never say a word. But of course, like all people, Lexi could just be herself around her close friends. At sixteen she had dealt with enough hurt to last a life time. She had been abandoned, broken, disowned and lost. People had turned her away and she had learned that she could only trust herself. There were high walls built around her heart and she let nobody in. Yes, she was simple in the most complicated way. There were people who loved and understood Lexi as best as they could, but never fully. Truthfully, she preferred it that way; more people that understood her meant more people could criticize the way she coped. I've been here before a few times And I'm quite aware we're dying And your hands they shake with goodbyes And I'll take you back if you'd have me But currently, life was going well and drama-free for Lexi. She had a boyfriend who swore he loves her, a best friend who had recently returned, and people that actually cared about her. The only drama Lexi was currently going on in her life was AnaLeigh Natlikc trying to steal Lexi's boyfriend, but whatever, she wasn't a sticom and she wasn't about to let it get to her. In Lexi's opinion nothing lasted forever, especially love. The only person she knew who would disagree with her was Noah Drake, the boy who wa practically her older brother. Noah was in love and engaged. Lexi envied his optimism but was happy for him. Honestly, Lexi could see where AnaLeigh was coming from, not thinking Lexi was good enough for Rhys, all Lexi was a spacey blonde with a bad past. And I'll miss your laugh your smile I'll admit I'm wrong if you'd tell me I'm so sick of fights I hate them Lets start this again for real Upstairs, in that crazy mind of hers, she was somebody else. Over opinionated, judgmental and a bit hypocritical; yes she was different. Different, but in so many ways the same. She thought a lot. In the comforts of her mind Lexi was free to be whom or whatever she wanted. It excited and scared her. On the outside, she was just Little Miss Complicated, but on the inside she was even more so. It was hard for Lexi to grasp the concept that somebody could know everything about her and still honestly say they loved her. In her opinion she wasn’t lovable. Not to say she had gone through hell as a child, no, her life had been better than some, but it had never been easy. As a middle child she was always in someone’s shadow, never her own person. Then she came to Hogwarts and made new friends, friends who didn’t know or care about her sisters. Finally Lexi became herself. And then her mother’s disappearance; not that Lexi cared about her. No, that horrid woman could die in a whole and Lexi would shed no tears. It wasn’t the disappearance that bothered her, it was the fact there was no closure. It was all opinions and guesses, no facts. And what really bothered her was if she hadn't died, she had left her three kids, ex husband, family and friends. Who does that? So, Lexi went quiet. she silenced her opinons, figuring no one wanted to hear them anyways. While Lexi was lost in her thoughts, what else were to happen other than she be approached?

So Here I Am; I'm TryingSo Here I Am; Are You ReadyLet's Start This Again, For Real The black lake, home of the giant squid, and various other underwaterly type creatures, was one of his favorite places. He did not know why, other than sometimes it was filled with solitude. No one ventured out too far since the lock-down had ended. Several brave souls might try to sit beside the cold, dark water; but, mostly the place was secluded and someone trying to search out some alone time to think might find peace and quiet in this very location. Noah though this as he moved from rock to rock beside the deep water line. There was no sign of the squid, so Noah was skipping small stones across the mirror-like surface of the lake. His denim blue eyes often looked to the distance, as if searching out some point just beyond his line of vision. In reality, Noah was in deep thought. His whole planned out future had changed within the last several months. His life had taken a turn, and he was happy for the first time in a long time. Noah had asked Tuesday Kerrison to marry him, and she had said yes. I've been here before a few times And I'm quite aware we're dying And your hands they shake with goodbyes And I'll take you back if you'd have me Noah moved away from the lake, and touched the large tree off the small path. His fingers danced across the rough bark, and he moved around the massive trunk. His heart almost stopped, his feet jumped back, and his free hand moved to his pocket all in one fluid motion. His eyes were sharp on the smaller form of the girl he had not seen behind the tree. His wand was half way out of his pocket before his mind registered this female held a familiar face. His lips cracked into a smile, and his hand pressed against his pounding heart. Lexi had almost scared the hell out of him, and as it was he thought maybe half the hell was located somewhere on the ground between them. He almost glanced in that direction as he caught his breath, stuck his wand back in his pocket, and casually leaned against the thick tree. Noah crossed his arms on his chest, tilted his head, and smiled down to the shorter Ravenclaw girl. And I'll miss your laugh your smile I'll admit I'm wrong if you'd tell me I'm so sick of fights I hate them Lets start this again for real "You gave me a right good scare there, so you did Lexi!" He spoke with a European flare that combined well with his clear American accent. Noah's blue eyes sparkled in the light of the clear day, and he added a small laugh to his sentence. Noah had known Lexi for a while, even though the two were in different years and had not had a chance at a proper conversation between them. He liked her, she was mild and soft spoken, but Noah saw a bit more in her than most other people might. Noah thought she was someone special, even if he might not be able to put his finger on what it might be. He tried to recall all he knew of her, and was sad to find that it was not much. She was dating someone, though he could not remember who it might be to save his life. Whomever it was, they were not good enough for her. Noah made up his mind about that little fact of life before he even recalled who she was currently with. Noah smiled, and motioned to her. "You always lurk on like this and prepare to scare the wits out of handsome young men, such as myself?" Noah over-exaggerated the words so she would know he was teasing. {{Your post was perfect Maddikins. I would not worry about it at all. I just hope mind fit the bill.}}

Hello There; the angel from my nightmareThe shadow in the background of the morgueWe'll wish this never end Lexi was standing on the far side of the large tree trunk facing towards the Forbidden Forest. She could vaguely hear leaves crunching in the distance. For a death eater, it would have been the perfect moment to attack. A young girl, vulnerable and alone on the edge of Hogwart’s Grounds, she didn’t even have her wand drawn. This thought occurred to her as a voice spoke. “You always lurk on like this and prepare to scare the wits out of handsome young men, such as myself?" Noah said, awakening her from her daze. Her head jerked up. Her hand moved to grab her wand and then sighed of relief. The voice had startled her slightly, but it only took her a moment to realize who it was. When she became alert of her surroundings she grinned back at him. She registered his tone to be teasing. "Only sometimes." She replied, sarcastically, "Although most wouldn't describe me as scary." she added. It almost made her laugh at the thought of Lexi being scary. She was described as many things, scary wasn't one of them. But she was quiet and soft-spoken so sneaking up on people was easy. She walked around the trunk of the tree so she could see Noah. Truthfully, the thought of being attacked made her a little jumpy, and she just wanted to be sure it really was him.
Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime She hadn't really noticed, but the grounds were pretty deserted. Before Noah found her all she heard was silence. Everyone was panicked since the lockdown. But she wasn’t scared. At least not to be outside. And the silence gave her more a break from the people inside the building. She didn’t mind company, at least not Noah’s anyways. As she rubbed her hands together for warmth she wondered why on earth it wasn’t warming up, for god’s sake it was already March! The temperature seemed to match the atmosphere; icy. The people that were outside looked over their shoulders constantly and no one was alone. The mid-afternoon sun was clouded and all was silent. It was a small comfort that she knew, if she had to, her wand could be drawn in seconds. Having another person with her gave her slight reassurance. And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders catching things and eating their insides Like indecision to call you And hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight stop this pain tonight Back in reality, Lexi spoke again. “So tell me, what is a handsome young man, such as yourself, doing out here alone?” She asked putting emphasis on handsome so he would know she was teasing. An amused smile played at her lips and for the first time in weeks it reached her eyes. [[[Notes: Blah. Since he had first met the younger Ravenclaw, Noah had felt comfortable around her. She was not only charming, and cute; but, she was relaxing in an odd sort of way. He was never too sure why he felt that way, but for him Lexi was comfortable. The first time they spoke, even though she was a little shy and quiet, he found that he was immediately attracted to her level of comfort. It was like talking to a friend he had know all his life. Recently she had found her voice, and had come out of her shell. He saw her as head-strong, brave, and was a little more than envious to watch the interest other guys were taking in her. She was blossoming into womanhood, and for Noah it was like watching a little sister grow-up. It was bitter sweet for him, knowing that he might not see much of her in the next few years as he graduated, and decided what to do with the rest of his life. Of course, Noah already had a plan.
He remember the first time they had spent time together alone, away from the hustle of the school. It was a small side room, once might have been used as a classroom, but had been empty for such a long time. Noah had invited her in for a talk, knowing she was not getting on well with a few other students in her class Noah wanted to ask her how things were going outright. He never was afraid to be blunt when it came to Lexi, he almost felt the obligation to treat her like a little sister in those days. Now, she was his equal, but in his mind's eye he saw the little girl she was back on that Spring day. There had been no classes due to the end of term testing, and he had pulled her along with him and to the room he had set up. There was a small spread of lunch, complete with pumpkin juice and little muffin cookies he had made himself. He sat her down, and started to eat. The conversation was going fairly well, and Lexi seemed to be opening up to him when -after a large swallow of juice- Noah swallowed wrong. He dropped his cup splashing the orange liquid all over both of them, his hand lifted to his throat and he circled it with his fingers, his eyes grew wide showing all the white surrounding his denim orbs, and he coughed for dear life. Pumpkin juice immediately squirted from his nose, his mouth, and if you asked him he would swear some dropped out of his ears. He did not recall drinking so much, and frankly hardly touched the stuff from that day.
The short end of a long story, Noah was red faced, choked up, and both of them were wet as can be by the spilled juice. Noah had embarrassed himself mightily in front of the girl he wished to protect, and the day ended up with a big laugh shared between two people who would become lifelong friends. Often Lexi would poke fun at Noah for his accident, and apparent attempted suicide by pumpkin juice. She has been known to send him some for the holidays, with a card that only had a big blue smiley face printed on it. The running joke between them always left Noah blinking back tears and trying not to laugh to hard. Even heroes sometimes fall down. He loved her for that day, and found that he would always hold that special place in his heart for his dear friend. Noah was happy he had ran into her this day.
"Ah, but you make a mistake, dear Lexi. I am not alone, I am with someone really special, whom I adore more than the stars twinkle, oh, and you are here, too!" He dropped her a sly wink at his little tease, and moved around the tree closer to her. His mind returned to the here-and-now, and he realized he needed to talk to her about his future. Noah did have a plan, and as odd as it seemed, his whole heart had fallen into said plan. As silly as it sounded, for a Ravenclaw to give up a good future, Noah wanted to become Hogwart's Caretaker after graduation. He thought it sounded silly as he thought about how to tell her, but the reason behind the plan was simple. Noah Drake was going to be married, and his wife to be was still going to be a student. Noah did not want to leave school. He smiled to his dear friend, and tried to line the words into an order that might make some semblance of sense. It was a good day.

Maddikins, can we close this thread and start them a new one? I lost the train of thought for this one, and need to find all my Noah muse again. If you do not mind? We have a few options, if you want them to go on a friend's date to the Carnival, that would work. You know? Hang out, ride rides, listen to music? Something like that? Let me know dear!
