All week Robert had carried that crumpled letter with him in his pocket. Every so often he would stop what he was doing, pull out the note, and read it again. He had read it over a thousand times already, and the words never changed. Robert had hoped this was all just some sort of nightmare that felt like a week but, it wasn't. It wasn't a dream, it wasn't a joke. This was real, very, very real leaving him to face a hard decision. For him, it was a lose-lose situation. For someone else, it would be a win-win. His loss would be her gain. He was pretty much screw, and only left this option: to once again join the Death Eaters, and eventually bring in Kelsey with him.
Robert knew that Bellatrix knew she was never going to get Kelsey without Robert. Well, that's what he liked to think anyway. At least this way, he would be there to keep Kelsey from getting in too deep. He didn't care what that cost him, even if it was his life. Robert would trade it to know that Kelsey was safe, along with the rest of his family. There was one thing that Robert feared, something he just knew Bellatrix would make Kelsey do. She would ask Kelsey to prove her loyalty by doing some act of torture or killing. He knew who would be her target, him. It would be Bellatrix's own sick and twisted way of getting at him for leaving in the first place. Robert wouldn't put it past her to think of it. If he thought of it, she would think of it. He didn't want to tell Kelsey but, he probably should prepare her for it sometime soon.
He sighed, sitting behind his desk, looking over the note agian. He had been thinking about it for a week now. Time was running out, Bellatrix patience would run out. Robert had the inkling that she knew he would rejoin either way. He didn't have a choice, though Kelsey had argued otherwise. Of course, she just happened to come in his office the day he got this ruddy letter. He told her, she pryed it out of him. He was sort of glad he told her, at least she was prepared for that now. Robert slowly rose, putting the letter back in his pocket. He walked over to the fireplace, sticking his hand in the small bucket of floo powder. Standing there for a moment, he gripped a handfull of powder. It came to the hard part now - going home. Robert had to go home and tell Mandy. He needed her to go away, and know as less as possible. The less she knew the better, so he thought.
Taking a deep breath, he threw down the powder and off he went, landing in his fireplace in his unused home office. Robert stepped out, wiping off some dirt and dust before walking out into the main room of the house. By this point, he still hadn't figured out what to say to Mandy. There was no gentle way to put it. He wanted to lie to her, to make her believe that Robert was just a jackass and was leaving. Would it be safer that way? Walking through, Robert stopped at some pictures on a wall. He stood there, hands in his pockets, looking over them with a slight tilt to his head.

Kelsey had thought that her biggest challenge now would be to raise her children without screwing them up. Oh how wrong she was. Now, everything was a mess and she was on a one way train to Death Eater ville. Bellatrix wanted Robert back so Robert could get Kelsey to join the Death Eaters. She didn't want to be one. She just wanted to take her family and get out of the country. However, she knew she couldn't do that. She had to join, to save her father from getting hurt and so she could destroy Bellatrix. She was going to get close to the insane woman, find out her secrets and then destroy her.
The hardest part of the plan though was that she had to leave James and her babies. That was what was going to tear her apart. It was for their own safety though. She couldn't have anything that Bellatrix could use against her. She didn't know how she was going to be able to look into her children's eyes and says goodbye, and turn to James and leave him, knowing that she may never see him again. That alone might kill her.
Kelsey had been avoiding James lately. She wasn't able to face him knowing what she was about to do to their tiny little family. When he was off of work she would make some excuse to stay at school and when he was gone to work she would take off with the twins to her parent's house so she wouldn't be alone. That was what took her their on this day. Upstairs in the nursery, Kelsey sat in a rocking chair, rocking little Henry to sleep. Mandee-Lynn had already fallen asleep, which was a surprise seeing as Henry was usually the sleeper and Mandee-Lynn was the crier. Her eyes fluttered down to see that Henry had fallen asleep in her arms. She smiled slightly and kissed his forehead before walking him over to the crib and putting him in. She looked at her two children and felt tears come to her eyes. She couldn't just leave them while she went off to destroy Bellatrix. She needed to be here with them.
Taking a deep breath, Kelsey left the room and headed downstairs. She tried to blink away her tears but it was no use, they just kept falling from her eyes. She hated crying with a passion but it seemed to be the only she was capable of doing lately. Stepping off the stairs, she landed into the main room of the house where her eyes fell upon her father. There was only one reason why he would be here today and that was to tell her mother about everything. She wiped her eyes of the tears as she walked into the room more.
"Hey dad," Kelsey said softly as she sat down on one of the chairs. She didn't make eye contact with him, not wanting to show her father that she had been crying again. She was really trying to be strong but it was failing miserably. She gazed down at her nails, not knowing what to say next. She knew he was probably going through hell in his head right now. This whole thing was more than likely eating away at him like it was doing to her. "Here to talk to mum I presume?," She said softly, stating the obvious. She wondered if he wanted to do this by himself or if he wanted Kelsey to stay. "I'll leave if you want me to. You probably want to talk to her alone," She added, looking up at him softly, giving him a small smile to try and make him feel better. She knew that would probably not work though, but it was the thought that counted.

The pictures on the wall portrayed a time when everything was fine. The kids were all little and didn't have teenage problems. There weren't marraige problems or, Death Eater problems. The five of them were all just happy. Then, as the kids got older in the pictures, life when down the shitter. Robert pulled the letter out of his pocket again. Instead of opening it, he traced the corners of the worn edges from the hundreds of times he unfolded and folded it. A small part of him opened that when he opened it, the words would be gone and replaced with something better, some sort of good news. He was sick of bad news. This term was suppose to nice, good, nothing dramatic. It was suppose to be calm, slow. Instead, it was the opposite, stressfull and very dramatic. This just about rounded out the end of the term. Robert hoped nothing else more could go wrong, although he was aware of what could happen.
Robert's thoughts were disrupted when he heard Kelsey's voice. He didn't look at her, he just kept his eyes fixed on the pictures, putting the letter back in his pocket. Robert didn't answer her questions. Instead he spoke of something less grim, the past. "Remember the day after Anton left for school, you got upset you couldn't go so, I took to a zoo?" He asked turning his head to glance at her. Robert sighed, moving to sit down in his chair. He wondered if Mandy was even home. If she was, she would appear sooner or later. He hoped later. Robert wasn't ready to do this. It was bad enough as it was now that Kelsey just had to open her mouth and tell Vince everything so, now he had to be apart of it. If Bellatrix or someone didn't kill him, Mandy sure would. [/blockquote]

Despite his many, many flaws and the fact that he messed up a lot of things during her life, Kelsey couldn't ask for a dad better than Robert. He was always there for her whenever she needed it. He would protect her against anything and risk his life for her. She knew she took him for granted a lot of the time. Some people would kill to have a father as loving as Robert. She knew that she would need him more than anything in the next coming months. He would be her only support and her only friend.
Kelsey chuckled softly as she heard what Robert asked. It wasn't very often that she thought about her childhood. Those memories were slowly beginning to fade in her mind. It was being consumed by all the current bad memories. "I almost forgot about that. It was the day that I saw that huge Hippogriff and was terrified. You had to carry me for the rest of the day because I was scared that if you let me go the Hippogriff would come and eat me," Kelsey said, laughing to herself. Ever since she was a little girl she had always been attached to her father, even if he wasn't around a lot. When he was around, she would always be around him and spending time with him. It had been so hard for her to say goodbye to him when he would leave.
"Do you remember the following year, when it was my turn to go to Hogwarts and you had to pry myself off of you? Or how before we left the house I had put Vince in my trunk because I didn't want to go there without him?," Kelsey laughed, smiling at her father. It felt nice to laugh and remember happier times. She looked down at her hands, picking at her fingernails once again. It had become a new habit of hers to do this when she had something on her mind. It helped ease her nerves and calm her down. "All that seems like another life time ago now," Kelsey said with a sigh, continuing to pick at her nails. She wondered where her mother was right now. Certainly she was around here somewhere.

The happy memories in Robert's mind were too few and too far between. He didn't have as many as any good father would have. He missed so much of his childrens childhoods that he kept a firm hold on anything he could remember about them. It was all he had. He would say that now was the time to make new memories, but that was hard to do right now, considering what they were facing. Bellatrix really knew how to just put a damper on things. She could probably make money doing that.
Robert smiles slightly hearing Kelsey laugh again. It had been a while since he had heard that from her. It coupld possibly be the last time he would hear it too. Yes, he was being all grim and gloomy. Robert couldn't help it. That's just how he was, he blamed himself for way too many things and often thought his doom would be at the end of the road. This path, he was sure he wouldn't make it out alive. Bellatrix wanted to punish him for leaving the death eaters, Robert knew that was coming. He'd been walking around for a year with the target on his back. She was just readying her bow, and was now aiming an arrow at him.
He tore his eyes away from the pictures, after having looked back at them, and settled down in his favourite chair in the room. Robert let out a shakey sigh. "I don't know how to tell her," he said, reaching in his pocket and touching that letter again. Robert swallowed and looked down, removing his hand from his inner pocket and wrung his hands together. He couldn't remember the last time he was this nervous or scared. It might have been all the way back to when he proposed to Mandy, way back in the day. This was a different nervous, and different scared. He feared one of many things. Above all else, he was afraid that either way, no matter what he did, Bellatrix was going to hurt his family. This was more than just about him, this was about the entire family.
Robert took in a slow, deep breath. Now wasn't the time to show just how afraid he was. He has to just be strong, like always and bury the fear for now. Robert reminded himself that he was doing this for his family, and he didn't care what happened to himself. After he got this letter, Robert had redrawn up his will to include the new baby, and the twins. He was leaving each of his four children a good chunck of change, some for his grandchildren, and Mandy got everything else. He didn't tell anyone he had done this, especially not Kelsey. With a long pointed finger that traced over the expanded, blooming stomach a small smile crept onto her pale pink lips. She had simply forgotten how it felt to be pregnant, the wonders of pregnancy. Usually it had been her sitting back and watching other women, and yes, she found content on watching those women, including her daughter, grow with each stage of pregnancy. Now that it was her, it felt like a whole new experience, despite how others would look at it, as if it was a 'mistake' or 'accident'. Mandy had never enjoyed using those terms. Although her baby hadn't been planned, she would never consider it a mistake. It wasn't. She wanted this baby just as much as she had wanted Anton, Kelsey and Vince and all of them could have been considered 'mistakes', but they weren't.
Inhaling a long breath, Mandy pushed herself up off the bed she'd been lying in for the last day, her feet unable to hold her weight until now. These months had been tough and incredibly long, she was unsure if it had been anxiety that had made the days drag in, or if it had been because she'd been left with nothing to do. Nowadays Mandy had barely even seen her husband, or her children for that matter. Except Kelsey. She was positive she heard her daughter arrive at the manor not too long ago, and she could only guess that loneliness had led her back home. The same loneliness that Mandy had been drowning in lately.
Moving towards the mirror, she quickly examined herself, turning to the left and right side, taking in the drastic change that her body had went through in the last few months. Every glance in the mirror still managed to catch her off guard. The maternity dress she wore wasn't particularly her favorite, it still hugged her curves in every manner, the reason behind her dislike. Why she had bought it still left her baffled. Perhaps it might have been because she bought it so early on in her pregnancy and now that she was so far into it, it no longer felt comfortable. Only two months left and she could return to fitting into her old jeans and dresses, after a bit of work ofcourse.
Opening the bedroom door, already she could sense there was people home, apart from Kelsey. Only she could say it was about time it someone visited. The company was always welcome. Holding onto the banister, Mandy took her time trailing down the staircase, her feet throbbing and her back aching. Sometimes pregnancy wasn't all that it was cut out to be. As she reached the bottom, her eyes scanned quickly around the room before moving into the main living area, her eyes falling onto Robert and Kelsey, "What are you two gossiping about?"

There would be no easy way to go about this situation the LeBlanc's had landed themselves into this time. They were all foolish to think that things were going to get easier this term. Kelsey felt terribly for everyone that was involved and being effected by the recent events. However, her sorrow was greater for her father this time. She knew that he was probably constantly blaming himself for what has happened. As always, he is probably saying that this was all his fault and no one else's. Truth of the matter is that Robert couldn't have prevented Bellatrix from coming after the family. She was going to do it no matter what Robert tried to do to stop it. If only he would realize that this was not his fault at all.
Kelsey looked at her father with soft eyes and sighed. She wanted to make his pain go away. All her life, he would try and make Kelsey happy. She knew she had taken him for granted on more than one occasion but now that she had a new perspective on life, she would try not to take him for granted ever again. "There is no way to tell her. You just have to spit it out I guess," Kelsey said softly, trying to help her father a bit. She knew her words would not provide him the comfort he needed though but it was at least worth a shot.
"Dad, I just want to tell you.. that I don't blame you for what happened.. I know it's not your fault and I am here for you. I always will be," Kelsey said softly, giving her father a soft, teary eyed smile. Hopefully her words would give her father another form of comfort and ease his conscience a bit. However she highly doubted that they would but it was worth a shot. Maybe, after all of this was over and Bellatrix was destroyed, they could go back to trying to be a happy family and their lives would get easier. Of course that was a silly dream for Kelsey, seeing as her life would never ever be easy.
Kelsey was about to open her mouth and say something else to her father when suddenly she heard her mother's voice. She slowly turned her head to look at her mother. Memories of her own pregnancy swarmed through her head and then she thought of her children again and how she was about to leave them without a mother for a bit. Her whole heart sank and it took all her strength not to cry. She felt so bad for the heartache her mother was about to receive. She didn't know if her heart could take seeing her mother be upset. Why was this so hard? Why was life so hard?
"We were just talking about old times," Kelsey said, putting a small smile on her face. She continued to keep back her tears but the distress and worry she had the past week was clearly shown on her face. She was still unsure if she was going to stick around to witness her father tell her mother about everything. She didn't know if she could watch it without bursting out in tears. However, she wanted to be here for her father so that was what would probably make her stay.
"How are you feeling, mum?," Kelsey asked, wondering how the pregnancy was effecting her. Hopefully she was feeling okay. Though after the little talk they were about to have she was probably not going to feel fine. She gazed over to her father then back to her mother, wondering what was going through their minds. Just think, after this she would have to go through another talk like this with James. Now that one would defiantly be the one to kill her. By the end of the conversation she may have to be sent to the mental health ward at St. Mungo's.

Kelsey was right. There was no easy way to put it. Robert would somehow have to just spit it out and hope for the best. Hope, now there was something he was running out of. Robert was beginning to find it pointless to hope for anything, like for his family to just be normal and not this fucked up mess it was. Every time things got better, and he was hopeful it would stay that way, something happened to screw it up. It was like something in the universe wouldn't let him catch a break.
"Kelsey..." Robert started as she said things weren't his fault. Of course, he thought it was. It could possibly be safe to deem it as not his fault but, he put the blame on himself. None of this, none of it, would be happening if he hadn't been so foolish, ambitious, and selfish those seventeen years back. He could only just nod once. Right now, he was trying to straight out what he was going to say to Mandy, how to put it. Robert had missed enough because of this stupid lockdown, now he would be missing more.
Then, he heard Mandy's voice. Robert forced himself to look at her. He smiled slightly seeing her in the room. Robert was mad at himself. She wouldn't have any idea what was going to come out of his mouth. Instead of something happy, it was going to be something shattering. All he wanted to do was curl up in a hole and just die. He would rather do that instead of having to tell her. He would do anything, anything at all to not have to tell her, to spare Mandy the pain. Robert was already fearing the look on her face when he said it. He didn't know how she would react exactly.
Robert bit on his tongue as Kelsey answered Mandy's question. While there was truth to it, it didn't brighten up the real reason why he was here. He tried not to let it show on his face but, his eyes would say it all. Mandy would just look and see he didn't have good news. Robert swallowed, preparing himself for the hard conversation that he was about to have. He was glad Kelsey was here. She was at least making things less gloomy. Still, Robert sat in silence, as he did want to know how his wife was feeling...since he hadn't been around, which he felt excessively guilty.

These last few months, almost since the beginning of her pregnancy, very little company was given to her. Yes, there had been good reasons, ones she didn't question but because of these reasons, promises had been broken. This time around she had all expectations of being fully prepared, Robert fussing over her, no particularly difficult work to be taken care of but her expectations had quickly disappointed her. Just as they always did. Even now, only a few more weeks away from her due date she had no idea what to do, it felt like her first pregnancy all over again. Questions flooded her mind, usually when she found herself alone.
"Old times." Mandy repeated, a smile lingering on her lips as her hazel eyes switched between Kelsey and Robert. A smile could fool most, but not Mandy, especially not when the smile was forced upon her daughter's own pair of lips. Knowing her daughter like the back of her own hand had it's perks, but sometimes Mandy hoped she couldn't see through Kelsey so easily. What you don't know wont hurt you. She had tried her best to keep it that way. Knowing would only cause hurt and hurt couldn't be afforded when she was in such a vulnerable position. And then she looked at Robert, the very man she'd known better than anyone, and a soft sigh escaped her mouth as she gently rubbed her stomach and waddled over to the sofa, taking a seat.
Chewing on her lower lip, attempts to get comfortable on the sofa while keeping her eyes on them both. "Honestly, I'd feel much better when you both aren't staring at me like it's the end of the world. As a matter of fact, I'm beginning to wonder what's coming next. I doubt it's anything close to delightful." Tucking a piece of dark hair behind her ear, purses her lips and lets her eyes switch their gaze between Robert and Kelsey, wondering which one was going to spit it out first. Silently, she braced herself for the worst.

Robert watched Mandy carefully as she sat down. He wondered if in a few weeks times if he would be able to see their child born. He didn't want to miss it. Robert had not missed the birth of the other three, so he wasn't going to start now. He did, however, break his promise, and for that he hated himself some more. Robert promised to be there, and he just hadn't been. He wanted to be the husband that freaked out every time she had heartburn or was uncomfortable or was experiencing indigestion. He was at first, and then shit happened. Hogwarts was threatened, the school was closed off from the world, student were kidnapped, and the freak that plotted it all somehow still got away.
He wished he had some sort of 'delightful' - as she put it - news for her. Robert didn't, and he knew that she could tell. Mandy knew him too well to not notice. Robert glanced at Kelsey before moving to sit next to Mandy, taking one of her hands in his. "A week or so ago, I received a letter - " he paused, that was going to happen often before he got it all out. " - a letter from Bellatrix. She wants me back with the death eaters." Robert stopped, reaching into his pocket and pulled out the letter. It was now worn from the million times he had opened it and read it. He swallowed before speaking again. "If I don't, she'll find you and -" pause " - and hurt you and the baby in some way or another, or worse - just kill you." He stuffed the letter back in his pocket.
"I can't let anything happen to you, or the baby," he continued, staring Mandy's eyes down. "So, I agreed. It's not me she wants, entirely...." Robert shifted his gaze to Kelsey and then back to Mandy. "After the baby is born, I want you to take her and leave. Don't tell me where you are going, when you leave...just go. Bellatrix can't find you then," he said, his voice getting a tad shaky. Robert swallowed it down and waited for whatever response Mandy gave him. He knew it wasn't going to be good.
