Cory Aaron gazed around Hogwarts' Great Hall with wide eyes. She had never been inside such a large room before. Above her the cieling reflected the rare blue sky outside. Several teachers, the Windborne Wasps Coach, all five team managers, and her six teammates stood around her talking quietly with several of the teachers who had come to greet them after their early morning Quidditch practice at Hogwarts Quidditch Pitch. Cory often wondered why they had to practice to God-forsakenly early; their games were never that early, but that was beside the point. The point was that she was here at Hogwarts, one of the three greatest magical schools in Europe, and she was bored out of her mind.

Later this evening there would be a small get together with the House Quidditch teams to encourage the young athletes to play professionally which Cory looked forward to, but for now she was hating the time she had to spend here. If only someone would show her something interesting, instead of fawning all her better, more famous teammates. You know, sometimes it sucked to be the rookie.

Stuffing her hands in her pockets Cory idled over to one of the long tables, the one at the farthest end of the room and sat down. A gleaming golden plate sat before and she wondered if a cheeseburger was going to magically appear in front of her. It didn't. Cory sighed. Apparently the House Elves were busy doing other things. One of her teammates had told her about the whole food-appearing-on-your-plate-thing earlier and she was a little sad that it hadn't worked for her. Ah well.

Phoenix smiled and hummed as he walked into the great hall. is black shoulder length hair was up in a pony tail. his goatee had been trimmed earlier that morning. he wore a causal outfit that included; a pair of worn out jeans with a plain black shirt, that showed the tattoo he had that went all way down his left arm and a pair of shoes.his wand holder was on his belt as he walked. his long black cloak sweep the ground. his long back cloak was new, well kinda. he had gotten it a few days ago. he saw the other teachers had dressed formal or somewhat close to it. he hadn't since he didn't see the point in it. he looked around the great hall and saw a girl looking around wide-eyed. he smirked and walked over to her and said" im guessing this is your first time here to hogwarts?" he smirked as the young female harris hawk, that he had been nursing back to health flew in and landed on his shoulder. he loved animals and loved taking care of them. he has nursed many wild animals back to full health. most of them left and he hasn't seen them since then which he liked before he knew they could now take care of themselves again. some of then animals do come back very once and while but it wasn't very often.

Cory was staring off into space, completely in her own little world when a voice jerked her out of her reverie. She looked up and saw a professor—a very handsome professor. He had black, shoulder length hair that was tied back in a ponytail. His goatee was neatly trimmed and he wore a pair of jeans and a plain black shirt under his black cloak, a contrast to all the other professors who were all wearing robes of some kind. A tattoo was visible going down his left arm and his wand holder was on his belt.

"I’m guessing this is your first time here to Hogwarts?" Cory smiled up at him. “How could you tell? Yes, this is my first time. I’m Cory—“ she stopped when she saw a beautiful brown bird with red wings glide down to land on this unknown man’s shoulder. The creature’s sharp, hooked beak and strong talons were marks of a raptor and Cory had always loved birds and their ability to fly. “She’s beautiful. It is a she, right?”

phoenix smiled a crooked smile as he said" yes its a she her name is bell and i'm phoenix, phoenix vipers i teach mare of magical creature here at hogwarts and most people who come to hogwarts for the first time have the same look on there face as you" he smiled and fed the bird a treat and the hawk ate it happily. " mind if a sit down with you?" he asked standing beside the table that she was siting at. he smiled as the hawk move and sit on a stand for bird that appeared by the table. he smiled as he looked at the hawk and fed her a treat or two then he looked back at cory.

Cory smiled shyly at Phoenix and motioned to the empty space beside her. "I love birds," she said, watching as Bell moved to sit on bird stand Phoenix had conjured for her beside the table. "They look so free and independent." When Phoenix looked away, she studied him. He really was a very handsome man. "You teach Care of Magical Creatures? That was my favorite subject when I went to school. Do you think I could give her a treat?" she asked seeing Phoenix give the harris hawk a tidbit.

phoenix smiled a crooked smile as he said"yeah i do we just got finished going over hippogrifs . i showed my classes the baby hippogriff I'm taking care of. yeah you can feed her" he smiled and sat down across from cory. he nodded and pulled out the bag of treats he had for bell and moved the over to her. he chuckled when bell moved to sit on the table and looked at them and made a sound,to show she wanted a treat. he looked at her with a soft smile as he hummed as he pet bell softly. he noticed that the way belle was sitting must be making her feel very important. he unbuttoned his long black cloak and laid it down the bench beside him, then looked back up at bell and cory." since Care of Magical Creatures was your favorite subject when you went to school, maybe sometime i can show you the animals i'm taking care of." he said smiling as he looked at her.

Cory smiled. This man was very nice, especially since he was allowing her to feed Bell. She took the treats from the center of the table and held one out to Bell. The Harris hawk moved to stand on the table and took one delicately in her sharp beak, causing Cory’s grin to widen. She glanced at Phoenix from behind the large bird. He had unbuttoned his long black cloak and laid it down on the bench beside him and was now petting Bell and humming softly. Cory blushed, feeling like a silly school girl all over again. Mentally she chided herself. She didn’t need to get infatuated with this professor, for all he was probably the handsomest man she had ever seen, even more so than Michael. His next offer caught her off guard.

"Since Care of Magical Creatures was your favorite subject when you went to school, maybe sometime i can show you the animals I’m taking care of."

Cory’s face brightened. “Yeah, I’d like that.” Glancing around the Great Hall she saw that all her teammates, coaches and team managers were engrossed in whatever conversations they were having. Looking back at Phoenix she said, “You know, I’m supposed to stay here and talk with the professors, but they can’t really get mad at me for leaving if I’m still with a teacher…”[/center][/font][/b]

Phoenix smiled a crooked smile as he said" we can go now,if you want to" He was surprised by her saying that she would like to see what animals, that he was taking care of. He looked at his hawk,belle and lifted his hand and pet her gently on the head. The hawk seemed to being enjoying the attention she was getting from them both. he sighed softly not sure what to say now so he looked around and saw that all the other teachers were all talking to the other qudditch players and team managers. He was sure the others wouldn't notice if they left.
after a few moments, he put his long black cloak on, because he was feeling a little cold. the tattoos on his arms were only part covered by his cloak. his tattoos were only completely covered when he put his cloak completely around him. he smiled crookedly when he looked back at her and said" do you want to go now? i highly doubt they would notice that we were done until we were really needed." he laughed softly when he said this, mainly because it was very true. he was almost always quiet he enough to where people barely at all knew that he was in the room, which he liked outside of class and sometimes inside class when students weren't paying attention at all and it made him laugh to see the student jump when they finally noticed he was right next to them.
