Damien sat against the wall behind a case of trophies. It was the only place he could think to go where no one would bother to look for him. He had just emerged from the hospital wing, pockets full of drugs he had stolen from the cabinet while the nurse wasn't looking, and was now busy filling his body with the stuff. It felt so good to allow his senses to succumb to the drugs after everything that had happened in his life. Parents who hated him, the only girl he loved breaking his heart: this was why he did drugs. Damien was nothing more than a broken boy who wanted to forget everything.
But forgetting wasn't always so easy. Sure, he could temporarily erase the pain with drugs and alcohol, but that never lasted. He had to come down off his cloud at some point, and when he did, the pain was always there to greet him. His parents and brother he could at least get away from for months on end; but Lisa.....there was no escaping her. She was in his house. He saw her every day. And every day it opened a new wound on his heart.
They had been best friends since her first year at Hogwarts. Lisa had been sorted into slytherin, the house that Damien was in, and they instantly clicked. You could always find them hanging out together and causing some sort of mayhem. By the time Damien reached his fifth year, he had fallen in love with her. It was easy for everyone to see but her, it would seem. They dated, but Lisa had never felt the same and she broke it off with him, leaving him heartbroken. Damien still loved her, even into the present. Which is why seeing her every waking day of his hogwarts life was so painful. Especially since she had recently gotten engaged to Liam. Oh, how Damien wanted to be Liam. But he knew that would never happen. Her heart would never belong to him, and the sooner he embraced that the better.
It was damn difficult though. Damien sighed as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a bottle of pills. He wasn't sure what they were, but he knew they would do the trick. He screwed the lid off and poured five of them into his hand. He popped them into his mouth and swallowed, waiting for the pills to take effect. He had already taken a drug that is supposed to ease pain, and some other things he couldn't remember, and for a moment thoughts of overdose crossed his mind. He wouldn't mind doing it: it certainly would be a relief from the world he was currently living in. But he knew he couldn't. There was at least one person it would hurt. So he resorted to taking as much as he could until he reached the threshold, and then he would stop.
Stopping was always the hardest part though. He wanted so badly to just leave this world and get it over with. Leave behind all the pain and suffering he had felt at the hands of people like his parents. People who had never wanted him in the first place, and who just kept him around because they felt sorry for him. Everyone knew his parents had never wanted him. They had Braeden, their golden quidditch star. So why had they had Damien? Simple. He was an accident. A broken condom and fear of abortions is what lead to Damien's existance. And all his life, his parents had doted on Braeden, buying him whatever he wanted and spoiling him rotten, while only providing the bare minimum for Damien; and there was never any love or affection shown to him. This is why he hated his parents and brother. They never wanted him, so why should he care about them? Damien couldn't see a reasonable answer to that question.
He sighed as he grew impatient with how long the drugs were taking to effect him. It could be that he was just growing immune to them, but Damien didn't like to think about that. He dumped more of the pills into his hand and swallowed them quickly, hoping that would speed up the effects. He needed to escape from the world, and fast. His thoughts were starting to choke his mind with feelings of pain and neglect, and he wanted to get rid of it. If only the drugs would work quickly, he would already be rid of his thoughts. Even if it was only temporary, this was how Damien dealt with it. This was his escape from reality.
Damien closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the wall as the thoughts of Lisa slowly left his head. A smile spread across his lips as he felt himself slipping into a drug induced stupor, knowing he wouldn't come out for a few hours at least; hoping he would never come out at all. I don't care what you think As long as it's about me_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Many people disapproved her relationship with Liam, not even saying about a thought of the two married. Slytherins mostly thought she could choose better because even if Liam was pureblooded he still was a different house and he wasn't that popular either. Lisa's enemies and other people she barely knew, couldn't understand why Liam Davies dated someone as spoiled as Lisa Green. There were many better, nicer girls without such a 'rich' past. But against all odds they made a good loving couple. And surprisingly fast Lisa forgot about her other past relationships and flings. She still liked getting compliments, because why not, but she wasn't such a flirt as before. She wasn't tempting, seducing any four-legged male as before. She wasn't jumping in and out their beds. But she still was a heartbreaker. She knew a few guys still had feelings for her and who could really blame them? Lisa wasn't the one you could forget easily.
But few crushes here and there weren't her problem. Yes, she wasn't too fond of how these guys felt about her since she was getting married but it was fine until they didn't try anything with her. Liam was a love of her life and she didn't want to cheat on him. She wasn't like that anymore. So what he was a Ravenclaw? Maybe a Ravenclaw was needed to tame her? Her heart belonged to Liam Davies and there was no place for infidelity anymore.
Really, there was nothing interesting to do for her lately when she couldn't spend as much time with Liam as before since Hogwarts was on lockdown. Of course she's been taking advantage of her skill to sneak out the castle under the cat fur but it was still like in a cage. Such a free soul as Lisa Green couldn't stay long in one place. She was getting frustrated with all she had to do. She was a prefect and she had responsibilities, yet she didn't realy follow rules herself, so she felt out of place.
Lisa was bored with nearly everything, but not as bored to call for more drama in her life. Though, the fate wanted different and she's been put through some kind of hell. Her fiance nearly got killed by a guy Lisa said no to. The same guy tried his luck few more times until he decided not be so 'nice' anymore. He really didn't like being rejected by the whore Lisa used to be. So Derek Cameron, because it was the name of a creeper, pushed his luck farther and dragged Lisa into an empty classroom where he decided to have her no matter for her repeating 'no'. Derek seemed to be obssesed with the thought of having Lisa. Yes, maybe he just wanted her for one night, to be his for once, but Lisa couldn't let it happened now. Yet, if not the luck she was given when befriended Blaze Dolohov, Derek would most definitely rape her. Lisa has many sexual partners and it was hard to find a place and way she hasn't done that. But rape wasn't an option. She always feared that.
She had to much on her mind. So many things that made her take drugs. So many secrets to keep. So many duties. Pregnancy, miscarriage, depression, time to recover and catch up with school. Then the very special ring that seemed to mend the pain. A guy she has to reject every day every time she saw him, attempted rape, knowledge few boys still had feelings for her, Helena pregnant with Blaze, Blaze's relationship with Gemma on the knife-edge, few of her friends getting mad on her because of the reasons she couln't understand yet knew it was her fault, prefect rounds she had to do...
Right, other people had worse. She was just making thing worse herself. She shouldn't have turned to drugs. It didn't help with anything. She could lose everything she loved, everything she cared about, everything she worked so hard for. Lisa really wanted to stop. She didn't want to be hooked on drugs. It wasn't helping her situation at all. But after classes when she found last pills in her robe she took them again telling herself 'one last time' like she did for couple of weeks now. Dominique Weasley tried to help her, work with her to get her out of that shit. But even though Lisa could stay clean for few days when she had nothing to worry about, when she tried to keep her hands and mind busy, there always came the day she couln't function without being at least a little high. This time being an illegal animagus, a little black Bombay cat wasn't a gift but a curse. If she wasn't one, she most likely wouldn't find a way to sneak out the castle and grounds into Hogsmeade to find that damn dealer and buy those addicting pills.
It was her prefect rounds time and she got a third floor to check. She had a big stupid smile on her face and she saw things differently what made her want to laugh but she did not. She just kept going down the corridor swaying from time to time slightly. She peaked her head into the trophy room if anybody was there. She was about to go back to her rounds when she spotted her friend with the corner of her eye. Lisa wanted to say 'hey Damien what's up?' but he looked weird for her and she was sure it wasn't her mind playing tricks on her. She walked in completely, over to him and got onto the cold stone floor in front of him just inches away. "Damien?" her voice rang as she put her hand onto his forehead. No fever, or so it seemed. She held her hand back but then put it on his shoulder and shook him lightly. "What's going on? Wake up!"_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The best of us can find happiness In misery. Damien was on the brink of losing consciousness, a sleep induced by the plethora of drugs he had just ingested. He thought he heard someone enter the room; but his eyes were too groggy to open, and he was too far gone to care. It was probably just some dumb little first year anyway, who wouldn't know the difference between natural sleep and someone who had probably taken too many drugs. In fact, Damien wasn't sure how many he had taken. Had it been one too many? Could he have finally done it? Damien wasn't sure, but there was a good possibility he had taken enough to overdose.
He could feel his pulse starting to slow far below the normal drug-induced beating. It should worry him, but it really didn't. As far as he was concerned, this was one of the most peaceful moments in time. If this was how his life was going to end, he was happy. It was far better than his life when he was conscious. Being a mistake can do that to a person. He allowed a small grin to appear on his face as he felt someone's hands on him. He didn't know who it was, and he didn't care. This was his happy place.
Damien allowed himself to tune out the voice that was trying to arouse him and drift off into his thoughts. Thoughts of the childhood he never had. No one really knew how badly he wanted to turn back time, to be born to parents who wanted him and would treat him right. He could, if he had a timeturner. But that would just allow him to watch his younger self suffer, and he didn't want to live through it all again. No, it seemed there was nothing he could do besides allow himself to slip in and out of consciousness.
He was faintly aware of the presence of another, still holding on to him, as he slipped back into the world. He shrugged them off, only to feel them placed back onto his shoulders. Who the hell was this, and why were they holding on to him like this? He didn't have any friends, except for Lisa and a few others. Even so, he didn't think they'd care if they found him in this state. Everyone knew he did drugs, so the scene unfolding wouldn't shock any of his true friends. At best it would only make them laugh at his stupidity.
Damien grumbled as he felt the hands start to shake him. He opened his eyes slightly only to see the blurry figure of a girl. Since he wasn't sure who it was, all he wanted to do was get her away from him. "Fuck you, whore." He said, the drugs in his system obvious by the way he slurred his speech. He pushed her off of him lightly and stood up, walking a few steps away before plopping back onto the ground. Damien closed his eyes as he tried his best to stand back up and walk away, to no avail. Frustrated by his inability to get away from the intruder, Damien laid back on the floor and felt himself slip away, finally giving into the drugs that were struggling so hard to take him away from the world. I don't care what you think As long as it's about me_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Of course Lisa knew Damien did drugs. She asked him once how it feels to take them. Maybe it was his voice, his words that she had in the back of her head when she first purchased a small bag of them from a dealer in Hogsmeade. Maybe she had a proof that being high helped with forgetting so she decided to try. She didn’t blame Damien because she had no idea he probably deserved some credit too. But even though she knew what effect it had for him sometimes and she found it stupid many times, she took them herself. And having mind a little elsewhere and controlled by narcotics she couldn’t think right and match the facts she had in front of her. And she’d never taken that much, never as much as Damien had. Lisa was in a slight stupor but she still was worried about what could put her friend in that state. It was strange because she didn’t care before. She wasn’t interested in other people’s problems because they weren’t her problems. She was usually very selfish and she wasn’t good in comforting anyone. There were times when Lisa wasn't a good friend. When she didn't like anything that happened to her friends or they said something that made her think they were freaks and started to change - in her opinion - for bad, Lisa just didn't pay attention to them until they showed they were worth enough to get her friendship back. Or everytime she got a wonderful boyfriend she seemed to be losing head for, Lisa simply forgot about the whole world and in result about her friends and their problems. She wasn't there for them when they needed her. She wasn't there to support them. She claimed no interest. Of course it wasn't routine. Her friends and family could usually count on her - when she wasn't too busy. She could help when asked for. She could help when that was something that took her heart or she was involved with. No one ever said that Lisa does things selflessly. But that new Lisa… it wasn’t her. She wasn’t much of a pure Slytherin she’s been all her life. But it was good for her in a way. She was happy with the changes and no one really could erase that. Yet, some people still acted as if it never happened.
Lisa couldn’t see properly but without a doubt much better than Damien at that very moment. She knew he looked at her, saw her but did he recognize her? She didn’t know but she hoped he did. Her eyes grew big when she heard his words. She understood a meaning of them very well even though her senses were a little down because of a state she was in and despite that Damien more slurred the words than spoke out. That moment she took these words to heart. People really thought she was a whore. No surprise there because she acted like one before she decided to stay faithful to her now fiancé. But it hurt her hearing that from Damien’s mouth. Maybe he didn’t mean that. Maybe he didn’t even know it was her, but it wasn’t far from truth. And ugly truth hurt the most, did it not? Damien pushed her off and stood up. She said nothing just watched him doing so. Seeing him in that state cleared her mind instantly. She understood he had to take too much, she had never seen him like that, or maybe she avoided that look. No, she couldn’t let him overdose. She would never forgive herself. So Lisa stood up, waited to catch a good balance and pulled her wand out. They had to find themselves in the hospital wing as fast as possible before it will be too late. Lisa aimed her wand at Damien’s body and concentrated to cast the spell right. She used Locomotor Mortis to lift him and transport him to the wing. They were on the third floor already. It wasn’t too far, just the other side of the castle. Lisa got to the hospital wing as fast as she could trying not to drop Damien or stumble over her own legs. She knew that Dominique or any other nurse there, could help him. They had to do that. He could not die! Not like that! Not in so young age!_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The best of us can find happiness In misery. TAG(S); Damien ^^ WORDS; 739? Damien awoke some time later. He wasn't sure how much time had elapsed since he had fallen unconcious. He wasn't even sure where he was. He lifted his head slightly, trying to get a glimpse of the room to no avail. His head fell back into it's former position with a thud. He had a massive headache.....probably from all the drugs he had ingested. He groaned, closing his eyes in an attempt to block out the light. He wished he knew where he was.....maybe then he could figure out what was going on and how long he had been passed out.
Damien vaguely remembered being in the trophy room. Someone had come in to the room right before he passed out. Had he known who it was? What had he said or done to them? Damien had no idea. He only hoped it hadn't been one of his few friends. He didn't need anyone knowing just how addicted he was....let alone someone he trusted. He didn't trust many people, and he really didn't want to have to question whether someone was spreading his dark secrets around the school. He only hoped that whoever had come in the room had the sense to keep their mouth shut about what they had seen.
Damien opened his eyes once more and looked around the room. Beds, medicine cabinets, sick and hurt students.....he definitely wasn't in the trophy room anymore. In fact, it seemed he was in the hospital wing. Not too far away from where he had fallen unconscious, but still too far for him to have gotten there himself. That meant that whoever had found him, had brought him here. If only he could remember who it was.
He glanced around the room once more. At least now he knew where he was. Now if only he could figure out what time it was, and who had brought him here. There were no clocks on the wall, unfortunately. Damien was left to guess and wonder how long he had been passed out. Something he did not like too much. He hated knowing he had allowed himself to be seen in the state he was in, let alone be brought in front of an adult. Although, he probably would have died had he not been brought here when he was.....but would that have been so bad? It certainly would have been a release from his inner torment......even so, Damien wasn't sure he necessarily wanted to die.
He allowed his head to fall back onto his pillow once more as he stared at the ceiling. He hoped whoever had brought him here would show up eventually so he could figure out if they would prove to be trustworthy or not. He closed his eyes and sighed, wishing no one had even found him, drugged up and crazy, in the first place.

I don't care what you think As long as it's about me_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Lisa hardly did any good deeds. She never really cared unless it involved her. But after she had changed, started to be a better person, after Liam made her heart a better place she wasn’t so selfish anymore. Maybe she still wasn’t the nicest but it was huge of her to show any interest. That’s why she decided to visit Damien in the hospital wing later that day. Of course she spent some time there too, worried if he will be alright but also because the nurse didn’t want to let her go before drugs were out of her system and before she answered a few questions. That all didn’t take as long as for Damien to wake up but long enough for Lisa to get irritated and happy that she’s finally out of there. Yet, she came back there willingly, not spreading a word about where and for what she’s going. She ignored students in the hallways; she ignored the ones in the hospital wing as well except one she came there for. Lisa brought Damien here and she had to talk about it with him or at least let him know it was her. No, she didn’t need him to be grateful. She didn’t need to hear thank you. Nothing that would usually feed her ego. She just wanted to show she wasn’t that indifferent to what was going on with him as it seemed.
Lisa stood there in the middle of the room for a while before she finally walked over the bed Damien was laying on. Her heart was beating pretty fast. She had no idea of how she should act, what she should say. Maybe he didn’t even want to see her there. But she knew she should at least try to be some kind of support. "Damien?" was all that escaped her mouth. She didn’t know what else she could say to have his attention that very moment._ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The best of us can find happiness In misery. Damien? He heard from a girl close to his bedside. He opened his eyes and turned towards the voice, smiling slightly when he saw who it was. "Hey Lisa. How's it goin?" Damien asked, trying to act like he wasn't laying in a hospital bed due to drug overdose. This was how he operated: action and then acting like he had not taken said action. He sighed and moved his eyes back on to the ceiling, suddenly feeling very thirsty. There was no water in sight, however, which was unfortunate for him. He didn't dare test his strength of getting out of the bed yet. The odds were that he would fall flat on his face and embarrass himself. That was something he didn't need on top of everything else, since whoever had brought him here had obviously not kept their mouth shut. How else would Lisa have known where he was? Damien pushed the thoughts of people blabbing his secrets, and his undying thirst, out of his mind as he turned back towards Lisa. He was wondering what had brought her there. She hadn't shown a whole lot of interest in him as of late, so it peaked his interest why she was there now. Someone had probably told her that he had almost died. Sad that an almost death was what it took to bring an old friend back into his life. He gestured to the chair next to his bed. "You should sit down. Standing is no fun." Damien said, his voice void of any sign of feeling or emotion.[/blockquote] Words: 275 Clothes:Here.Notes: plottageee!!! yaaaaaaay Credits:allstarzs from caution for the image, panic! its lauz at caution for the lyrics, emzies at caution for the outfit. I don't care what you think As long as it's about me_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Looking at one of her ex-boyfriends Damien Sparks, Lisa had to admit he didn’t look that bad as to when she had brought him here using her wand. He wasn’t that pale as then and what the most important he could see properly. No doubt about it as he did recognize her this time. A small smile graced her pretty face as she heard him speak properly and without a doubt as if nothing happened. It was good in a way but then again a bit sad because he almost died because of his silliness. The thought of him dead because of an overdose twisted Lisa’s stomach. That day she understood finally how dangerous that addiction was. She understood it could have been her. Of course Lisa couldn’t promise even herself that she would not touch drugs ever again but now she knew the problem was serious and those who knew and tried to help her were hundred percent right. She had to drop it before it will be too late. "Had better." was all she said. And it was true. She already had too much on her head. She didn’t need more things to worry about. And she was worried about Damien this time. Maybe they weren’t together anymore. Maybe she claimed not too much interest to him lately, if any. But they still were friends, good friends. She remembered how fast they befriended. It was like they clicked instantly and it was amazing. Probably it was more Lisa’s merit because she had no problems with ‘summoning’ people while Damien was rather an outsider. But she couldn’t help it, being like magnet for most of people who either wanted to befriend her or just have something sexual with her. Yes, Lisa was always very popular. Maybe because of her family status; maybe because her older sister, Lizzy was the same; or maybe because her unusual hair brought other people’s attention.
Lisa sighed wrapping arms around herself as she felt a little cold at the moment. She didn’t know how to start a conversation, how to tell him she found him in the trophy room in a bad state. It was weird for a very confident girl with a lot to say. It always seemed she had a prepared respond to nearly everything you could come up with. But this time it was harder than she thought it would be. She saw Damien gesturing to the chair and heard him telling her to have a seat. Yes, maybe she should sit down. Maybe it would be easier to collect thoughts that way and speak her mind out. "Ah, yeah, right." she said and sat in a chair next to the hospital bed Damien resided in. "So… um… Do you know what happened, how you found yourself in here?" she asked hoping he knew and she would not have much to explain. But either way she knew it will not be that easy._ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The best of us can find happiness In misery. TAG(S); Damien ^^ WORDS; 496? Damien allowed his eyes to float back over to Lisa. His ex-girlfriend, who he never fully got over. She had broken his heart and then gotten engaged, and he was pretty sure she didn't even know. That was all in the past, however, and they remained friends. Best friends, even. It meant a lot to Damien that she took time out of her day to come see if he was alright.
Damien shrugged in response to her question. He truthfully had no idea how he had gotten into the hospital wing. The last thing he remembered was sitting in the trophy room with his drugs and nothing else. He imagined he had taken too many pills, but he didn't really think that was the reason. He never took too many.....Damien believed he was a pro at dosing it out safely. There's always a first time for everything, though....maybe this was his first time at overdosing.
Damien shrugged once more. [b"No, I honestly can't remember how I got here. The last thing I remember was walking into the trophy room and sitting down." He said, staring at her eyes to judge her reaction. He knew there was something more that he didn't know, and he was hoping that Lisa had an answer for him. Hoping that she could fill in the blanks in his mind. Hoping he hadn't hurt anyone he cared about. Her eyes remained somewhat unreadable, though, and Damien knew he was going to have to wait for her response to find out exactly what had happened.[/blockquote] Words: 265 Clothes:Here.Notes: plottageee!!! yaaaaaaay Credits:allstarzs from caution for the image, panic! its lauz at caution for the lyrics, emzies at caution for the outfit. Lisa waited for any reaction from Damien. She saw him shrugging and it was a sign for her he didn’t know. Her hopes weren’t heard out then. But Lisa remained calm. She had a mission now. She just had to rethink it, rethink of how she should tell him that, trying not to offend him or anything. She wanted him to know she was scared to death seeing him in that state. But maybe she could keep it for herself that he helped her decide to seriously work on dropping drugs completely.
Damien responded finally. It was sad he didn’t remember anything yet Lisa felt some kind of relief. H didn’t remember calling her whore. He didn’t even remember it was her. Maybe that way would be easier for him to get over it. Maybe without knowing he insulted and in a way hurt her feelings, he wouldn’t have more reasons to take. A small smile graced her face. She crossed legs one over another and looked at him before she spoke again. "Well then… I was doing my prefect rounds when I found you in there. I was scared about someone’s life like never before." and then her smile faded. "I’m so glad I got there on time." Lisa reached Damien’s hand and took it squeezing it lightly. An insecure yet comforting smile curved her lips again. "Don’t do this again, please." she said it with somewhat of pleading eyes. OOC: bleh x.x
