You're a big girl now, got your big girl shoes, and you're running around with your big girl blues.
I know you don’t doubt yourself anymore. When you feel like leaving you walk out the door. And I bet you ain't got nothing left to learn. . . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A chill ran along the back of Sabrina’s knees, she reached down to cover it with the folds of her coat. Late winter was always so brutal in Hogsmeade. It hadn’t crossed her mind that, wearing tights and a skirt might just turn out to be a foolish decision. Across the street The Three Broomsticks appeared to be rather busy. It usually was on the weekends, but on this particuluar occasion Sabrina was obligated to go inside and surround herself with all the noise of her fellow students. Kids at school always got in their fair share of butterbeer before the holidays. She hated the racquet they caused, and most of all, she hated the drama they started. It wasn’t unusual for her to join in though, some of them time.
Lexi had the tendency to arrive on time for their meetings together, but as Sabrina made her way into the warmth of the indoors, she couldn’t seem to spot the blonde haired girl anywhere. She made a quick beeline for the back. Maybe if she hid in a booth noone would bother to approach her. As she waited for her close friend Sabrina considered the subjects that she happily planned to discuss with her. Both of them had been considering playing a role in Dumbledore’s army; she knew that Lexi would be the best person to convince her to do so. They could go into it together, and therefore never let there be a doubt in the other’s mind. That was how real friendship worked. <3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's better that way, cause you never get burned.

Lexi was in Hogsmede to do some shopping for her family back home and later to meet Sabrina. She stepped out of the warm shop and on to the frosted sidewalk. It was getting dark, so she stayed on the curb so she could still see light from the shops. However, she thought she had plenty of time before her meeting. She walked contently until she came upon a clock. She stopped to check the exact time and realized she was in fact, late. About a block from the three broomsticks, she rushed over. Her face was flush from the cold and more than anything she wanted the pub to be closer. It was getting darker by the second and she didn’t like to be alone after dark anywhere, let alone Hogsmede on the weekend. On the mostly empty streets there were a couple of adults and a group of fifth years she didn’t know. ‘Lovely’ Lexi thought as she saw a drunken man stagger out of the Three Broom Sticks. Her father had become an alcoholic after her mother’s disappearance so she knew to just ignore the man. It was odd, if one of your parents was an alcoholic you had a fifty fifty shot of becoming one, yet for her, it only made alcohol less appealing. It showed her what drinking did to you, the person you became when you drank. Besides, in her fourth year she had gotten drunk with her best friend Ryan Wake and it hadn’t been pretty. Two years later and she still couldn’t look at either a lampshade or a shot of tequila without wincing. She shuddered at the memory. Once she stepped inside of the pub she began to look for Sabrina. It was quite crowded, filled with students and adults alike. Neither of them liked a lot of noise so she began searching in the back. When she finally found her, in the back with a quiet booth Lexi sat down besides her. She was quiet around most people, but with Sabrina all her walls came down and she was simply Lexi. There wasn’t any judging between the two of them, which was refreshing. Besides that Lexi truly enjoyed Sabrina’s company. Tonight she wanted to talk about Dumbledore’s Army. They both wanted to join, but neither of them alone. It was scary, being alone. It scared Lexi that she would fight even though she knew she wouldn’t have it any other way. She was so passive aggressive. But this was something they could both do, together. She wouldn’t be alone. That was really all she was afraid of. As for everything else? You're a big girl now, got your big girl shoes, and you're running around with your big girl blues.
I know you don’t doubt yourself anymore. When you feel like leaving you walk out the door. And I bet you ain't got nothing left to learn. . . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It didn't take long. As Sabrina had expected, Lexi came stumbling through the doors of the Three Broomsticks, just moments after she took her seat at the back of the pub. (Or rather, Lexi waltzed. The ravenclaw girl didn't "stumble.") Their eyes met in excitement as the subject at hand threatened to consume their giddy, yet mildly reserved air. Sabrina supposed she may as well be the one to start off. "Hey there Lex." A wide grin spread across her face, as she scooted forward in her chair. "How are you?" She thought about ordering herself something to drink, but remembered that Lexi despised alcohol. Something about her father? Sabrina couldn't quite place what it had been that turned her away from its taste, but it seemed a substantial reason.
"So..." She beat around the bush, the casual grin still stuck on her face. “I hear they’re looking for more students to join the army?” They both knew exactly why they were there, it only gave Sabrina time to consider where she stood, how she would go about asking her friend to join her. Without a breath of nervousness in the air she stared happily at Lexi, “I think we should definitely join.” She nodded her head with confidence. It wasn’t often that she took such control over a difficult situation, but something told her that when the time came, Sabrina would still need Lexi’s support to keep from backing out. In the end, she was always the one to cower in the face of danger.
The two of them were good together in such ways that, Sabrina’s strength was her intelligence, while Lexi, still intelligent, was more confident and free-spirited. Combined, they could meet practically any task. Only a slight difference in age kept them from spending time together in class…

Hello There; the angel from my nightmareThe shadow in the background of the morgueWe'll wish this never end "Hey there Lex. How are you?" Sabrina asked as Lexi settled in. "Hey Sabrina" Lexi said with a smile. "I'm fine, just got a bit lost. And you?" She asked. "So i hear they're looking for more students to join the Army." Sabrina said with a casual grin on her face. Lexi noddded and nodded again when Sabrina sugested they join." I really want to. But i'm.." Lexi's face went slightly pink as she finished the rest of the sentance "... I'm a little scared."
Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime
No matter how hard she tried to act strong, the truth of the matter was Lexi was only sixteen.If her mother was still around she would tell her that Lexi should be doing something normal like getting a boyfriend, not joining an army. But it was what Lexi wanted. Defense against the dark arts had always been her best subject which proved helpful. Being normal never worked well for her. She didn't get along well with most kids her age so she kept to herself. Even so, she wanted to do something. Be a part of something. Namely, the army.
And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders catching things and eating their insides Like indecision to call you And hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight stop this pain tonight
Lately she had been coming more and more out of her shell. It was easier now that she had people that truly cared about her. People like Sabrina and Noah knew Lexi well enough to look past her silence and see the head-strong, impatient, stubborn person she really was. Of course, there were still the stupid first years who liked to tease her about her last name ("Hey Dumb ass come here") but she had long since given up on correcting them. She wasn't good with people for the most part and she hated when people were mad at her. Some ex-girlfriend of Rhys's kept telling Lexi to watch her back. In addition to helping the wizarding community, she wanted to put a hex on that pretty face of AnaLeigh's. to be Passive aggressive was one thing, but to have to stand up for herself was another. And it was about time she learned how.

I know you don’t doubt yourself anymore. When you feel like leaving you walk out the door. And I bet you ain't got nothing left to learn. . . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They were both experts at avoiding confrontation, and danger of any sort. Sabrina looked at the red of her best friend’s cheeks and knew they needed each other, for confidence, and support. If either would be successful in fighting toward the end of a battle, it wouldn’t be on their own..
“Lexi, I really think we should join.” She ran her fingers through her hair and peered across the lighted table. Her eyes were filled with anxiety and excitement, all mixed up into a joyous argument. “I’m just as scared as you are,” her smile spread from cheek to cheek, “You know that,” and she knew her doubts would be just as strong. Perhaps convincing Lexi would do just as well to convince herself. “If we do this, it will be our chance to be a part of something BIGGER!” She stressed the word as much as it was important to understand that what they had here was not an opportunity to be passed up. The school would only call upon its students in such dire circumstances.
Sabrina often tried to convince herself that nothing could go wrong, but of course, pain and suffering seemed inevitable. With the kidnappings so recent in everyone’s minds, it only embellished their need to assemble an army. For the first time since Harry Potter had fought against Voldermort, Dumbledore’s army would rise again to fight alongside the Order. If not as powerful they had just as much heart. “Lexi, I know we can do this.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's better that way, cause you never get burned.

Hello There; the angel from my nightmareThe shadow in the background of the morgueWe'll wish this never end "Lexi I know we can do this" Sabrina said. Lexi swallowed. It scared the hell out of her, all of it. But deep down she knew that if she cowered in the shadows while the wizarding world was brought to its knees she would never forgive herself. The thought of it was unbearable. Even though times were hard and scary, she saw the magic behind it all. On the darkest of days she could remember her first trip to Diagon Alley. Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime Little Lexi was eleven years old. Her whole family went, even Maggie, the squib. The two youngest girls, Lexi and Maggie, walked side-by-side, wide eyed with fasination. INeither had ever been to Diagon Alley and were in awe. By the end of the day Maggie cried because she wasn't going to Hogwarts. Lexi felt bad but could not get over the amazing world that had been before her all along. And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders catching things and eating their insides Like indecision to call you And hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight stop this pain tonight She looked directly at Sabrina and spoke, her voice sure "I know we can too. So let's do it."and she meant it. {{Notes Go HERE}}

I know you don’t doubt yourself anymore. When you feel like leaving you walk out the door. And I bet you ain't got nothing left to learn. . . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lexi didn't need much convincing, as it turned out. Sabrina stared into the girl’s dark brown eyes and a smile overtook her, spread across her face from cheek to cheek until she suddenly started giggling uncontrollably. "Oh Lexi!" She invited her friend into an excited atmosphere, "I really think this is what we're meant to do, where we're meant to be..." She spread the idea in the air with her hands, the brightness about her protruding with the surrounding pub’s patrons. Sabrina beaming smile matched that of an ecstatic child opening presents on Christmas morning. She rustled her skirt underneath her as her seat wiggled, brightness in her eyes that wouldn’t be burnt out by the awkward stares she was so used to receiving. Sabrina reached across the table to Lexi and grabbed her hand tightly in her own. “I swear, we’ll wreak havoc upon the death eaters!” Her giggle turned into an absolute uproar. The thought of the pair displaying their camaraderie in the army was quite the comical movie, playing happily in her mind. She didn’t let herself think of the dangers that awaited them out on the battlefield. This was a positive decision, and Sabrina had to convince herself of that, whether giving the impression it was a lie, or not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's better that way, cause you never get burned.
