Alec sat high up in the owlery, perching himself on the ledge right next to the window. It was a typical cold, gloomy winter day in London. The sky was dark and the ground was white. The air inside the owlery was also frigid, considering there were no way to block out the wind. But Alec didn't mind. In fact, he didn't even notice. His mind and thoughts were years away, to a time much before he got his acceptance letter to Hogwarts. The time when his mother was still alive. He didn't like to think about his mother much. It was too painful, and it always brought on a sense of guilt and shame. But when those thoughts did return, he always went up here to think, to be alone and away from the students and teachers. He didn't care. Despite being a Slytherin, he was smart and got good grades. He may ditch, but he made sure to study before a test and do his homework, even if some people didn't believe it.
Alec looked down at his hands, and rubbed them slowly together, a pained look on his face. Few people knew about his past, and that was on purpose. The one student who knew about it, he didn't even tell. She happened to read his mind. And the only reason he knew that was because he could read minds too, so as she saw the images that came to his mind, he got to read them back as she viewed them. Great gift, huh? So that girl also knew the Alec viewed himself as a murderer. When he was younger, his father would always beat his mother and him. In the middle of one really bad fight, the worst ever, Alec got up and left. Just ran out the door. But not before he could see his father cast the Avada Kedavra spell... on his mother. That stopped Alec in his tracks as he watched his mother fall to the ground, eyes dead and cold, not moving. He wanted to go back for her, but he knew if he did that, he would die too. So he left. To this day, Alec blames himself for his mother's death. He feels like he could have prevented it, stopped his father some way, and that it was his fault that his mother died. Though it might not be true, it was hard to just stop believing something you have believed for so long...
And that's when he heard it. Footsteps below him, coming up to the owlery. Crap! It was the worst time, because at that moment Alec had tears in his eyes. He NEVER let anyone see him cry. Not even Kaelyn. words; 455 notes; Lol, I hope it's ok! tags; AnaLeigh lyrics; Wheatfields~Brett Anderson

Hello There; the angel from my nightmareThe shadow in the background of the morgueWe'll wish this never end AnaLeigh needed a break. She needed five minutes away from those bloody first years. She would hide in a broom closet if she had too, she just needed a moment to herself. Of course, she preferred somewhere more open. So she went to the owlery. It was usually pretty empty, and if not empty it was quiet. Even if she was just going to sit on the ledge and watch the owls soar, it was something to do. The night had settled in and it would be windy. Not that it mattered. Almost four years ago she stormed out of her muggle family’s house forever. They all but kicked her out. To them, the young witch was a zoo animal, neither belonged in their secluded world and they made that quite clear. The last straw for her was when her father called her a freak and her younger brother wouldn’t even look at her. So she left, without so much as a backwards glance.
Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime For a proud girl, she sure had a bad past. Of course, she wasn’t ashamed, no. If anybody ever asked her she would tell them about her lovely little family. But no one ever did. About a month ago she found her “kidnapped” younger sister who had been living in an orphanage. It had been one hell of a year for AnaLeigh. As she climbed the steps to the owlery she thought. It was scary; the fact that so soon she would leave the only place that had ever been truly home to her. She was considered an adult already. The fun she had here would be short lived and soon she would go to work and try to break even. That’s a lot to wrap your head around for anyone, let alone a seventeen year old girl. And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders catching things and eating their insides Like indecision to call you And hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight stop this pain tonight She didn’t own an owl, so if needed she could borrow the schools. But honestly, who did she have to write to anyways? No one. Over the weekend she would see her sister so no need to write to her. She wasn’t drunk so there was no need to send a nasty owl to dearest mummy and daddy. The only person she truly kept correspondence with was her older brother Trent. At eighteen, he was the only one who ever tried to get AnaLeigh to stay. But tonight she wouldn’t write to him. He was currently staying withtheir family and an owl would look quite suspicious in a suburb. Once she entered she was surprised to find another person already there. A fellow Slytherin. A prefect at that. “Hello.” She said simply lingering in the doorway. Notes: Blahh. sorry for the wait. Outfit: CLICK?!Credit:This template was made by the amazing NOAH Tags: Alec
