Lexi was sitting in the Common Room pretending to read her Charms book. It was so boring. The Common room was always filled with talkative students, but tonight there was only silence. Lexi loved silence, like most spacey people. She smiled to herself. Since she was all alone she tucked her freakishly large charms book back into her bag, leaned back in her chair and sighed contently. Things were looking up for her. Her moment of silence was interrupted by footsteps. The footsteps got closer and closer to Lexi until they materialized into a person. A boy person. The boy was called Logan, as Lexi recalled,( photographic memory!). He took the seat next to her.
Lexi was a girl of many contradictions, to put things in their simplest terms. She liked people, but she was content with being alone, friendly but shy a flirt but conservative. Her guard was up, because it came naturally to her. She would be nice to this guy, friendly, but she doubted the conversation would go past this moment. He was a seventh year, she a sixth; it depended upon his personality if that would matter to him, to her it didn’t.
People judge Lexi all the time. She’s shy which makes her any easy target for teasing, so she can be a bit on the defensive side. She doesn’t like to be reminded of her past, there’s a reason it’s called the past! People that know Lexi know these things; they know where to tread carefully and where to tease. Strangers on the other hand, they don’t know and she doesn’t blame them. First impressions often don’t go over well for this Ravenclaw, she’s guarded!
“Hello, I’m Lexi, and you are?” she said with a friendly smile. This conversation was either going somewhere or it wasn’t but either way she was going to do something she didn’t usually. She was going to try.
She may be guarded, but the only way to get to know her is to break down her walls. Breaking her walls? That’s easy. All you have to do is want to.
