A boy standing at 5'8 walked up the spiraling stone stairs that would take him to the top of Hogwart's west tower. He was clutching a white envelope in his right hand. It was a letter for his sister, who was off in Germany, studying some strange sea creatures that just made Rove's skin crawl. He couldn't stand them, but alas, she loved them all from the slimy ones to the ones that were horribly poisinous to the ones that were told to crawl up places the sun don't shine. "Uh," the boy unconsciously groaned a little at the thought.
The young man was dressed in muggle clothes; they were what he mostly had. A pair of dark blue jeans, ripped in the knees because he refused to throw them away or cast a spell to sew them back together. He likes his muggle pants. His shirt was a long sleeved, thin black one. The sleeves went up to his knuckles. His shoes were a pair of black and white chucks, brand new and shining like such. In his letter, he talked about his first year here. He had just barely began here at Hogwarts and so, his sister wanted him to paint a picture of it for her. So, he did. He drew a picture of the school and talked a bit about it. Of course, he also sent her a picture of a turtle, she loved those.
Once he got to the top of the tower, he stood in the door way, afraid of stepping in any guano. His eyes scanned for his family owl; a dark grey owl with shiny yellow eyes and black tips on the feathers on his wings. It hadn't seemed that he had arrived yet. So, the boy leaned against the stone wall right outside the tower entrance and waited.

Sabrina knew her mother would be relieved to hear the news; that Hogwarts had been declared safe and authorities were in pursuit of the kidnapper. The moment they had been allowed, she had gathered her parchment and a quill to thoroughly record all that happened. It took an entire hour to get it all down, but just to cover all her bases Sabrina even reminded her mother that she could contact the headmaster if need be. They went as far as positioning aurors throughout the grounds to assure that children would be safe.
Sabrina climbed the stairs to the owlery two at a time, and took care to grip the sides of the wall upon approaching each step. Along with her well known fear of drowning she was also subject to a fear of heights. Although, she wasn't any more scared than the average Ravenclaw. She simply held her logic more closely then others. At the landing by the doorway she was happy to see a familiar figure blocking her way. She waved to Rove graciously and paused beside him to warm her hands. He was clad in the usual muggle apparel, "Hey there Rove. You sending an owl out as well?" Her voice was genuine as always. Despite the fact that she might have quite the tendency to become over-emotional, Sabrina had learned over time that one must hold their tongue.
Standing at Rove's side she glanced calmly over the open landscape. She held up the parchment in her hand and grinned, "I'm sending an owl to my mum." Her head nodded as if to agree that the situation was rather casual. In fact, Sabrina found it shocking that more of the school hadn't just rushed to the owlery the first chance they got. Most of their parents had to be dying to hear from them.

Rove turned when a voice called out to him. Sabrina, the ravenclaw girl had approached him. He smiled a little and brushed some of his long hair away from his face. "Nah, vaiting for one to come back in, actually. So I can send dis out." He waved the letter that he held in his right hand to show her. The young man talked with a slight German accent from time to time, something he often had a harder time hiding. He spent most of his time speaking German for his mother and sister, who did speak english, but prefered their born language.
Rove turned around so he look over the landscape just as she did. It was beautiful here. "Because of dat incident with the lockdown, hm? It vas.... strange. My first veek here and ve get locked in. Although, it is nice here.... Ahh!" The boy fidgeted. "I'm babbling... right? Dat's the vord for it? Talking too much-?" Rove decided to just shut his mouth. He turned around to hide his embaressment, but then noticed that his owl was flying in. The bird swooped down and landed on the wall. Rove showed the letter to the owl, which took it in its beak and took off immediently.
Ooc: Sorry if my attempt to create a German accent was a huge fail.

Sabrina hadn’t noticed how strong Rove’s accent was the first time she met him. Although she heard that he was from Germany , most of the other gryffindors only spoke of his strange muggle clothing. She pondered the sound of the exaggerated w’s as he spoke and pulled her lip into a grin, her own accent had to sounding so light in comparison. “Yeah I know my mum must be dyin’ to know what’s going on.” She rested her back against the weathered brick wall and glanced at Rove sideways, “And don’t worry, I don’t mind if you ramble. I’m quite used to it.” Her crooked grin grew into a protruding smile. It was easy for Sabrina to tolerate pointless conversation, whatever the topic may be. Most of the time she didn’t mind, but she noticed Rove’s company seemed slightly easier to withstand. He was younger, she supposed, and might be less of an idiot if she just gave him the chance.
Sabrina wasn’t judgemental, to say the least. She simply enjoyed the quiet of the outdoors over constant chatter. Something about the sound of a German accent had begun to intrigue her though. The gryffindor boy might be someone she could enjoy spending time with, simply to listen to his voice. It was selfish of course. Even if she did share the best of intentions, Sabrina cared more for entertainment than actual conversation. Unless of course, someone could actually hold a conversation that interested her. That was another story all together. She had just been a little less talkative then usual, and for Rove to get on her good side seemed to be helping her cause just a tad bit because frankly, she was usually such a pleasant girl...

Once his 'pigeon' was gone, Rove turned to his companion, wondering when her owl would appear. He wondered what she thought of him. Being the new kid at the school, he was obviously going to be thought poorly of, but being a German kid with a thick accent didn't help much either. "Vhat is the owl jou're looking for?" He asked her and began looking around. He wasn't sure if she had been waiting on him or if she was waiting for a specific owl to fly in. He hopped up on the ledge of the brick wall so that he could sit on it. Then, he turned his head to look out at the trees in the grounds and the green grass.

Sabrina had been so caught up in her conversation with Rove that she nearly forgot to retrieve her owl. The extensive letter to her mother was the only reason she had climbed all those godforsaken stairs up to the owlery in the first place. “Oh yes I almost forgot!” She scrambled across the landing toward a small enclosure in the corner, where she spotted her owl nestling safely in a pile of bedding. “Sorry there little guy…” He didn’t have a name, but Sabrina grabbed the “said” owl and gently readied her rolled up parchment above his talons. He hardly had time to object, as she tried to be rather quick with her hands.
“So Rove, how have you been enjoying your time at Hogwarts?” She fumbled with the owl while trying to start a conversation. It was too cold to keep silent. “You just started last week right? Just as the kidnappings were taking place, yeah?” She shook her head, “I’m sorry. You must have had such a terrible first impression of our school.” Sabrina could go on to mention all the reasons Rove might actually enjoy being at Hogwarts, list off the pros and cons of being a student there, but she wouldn’t. It wasn’t her job to give the school a good name. As if it didn’t already have one, she thought. But it appeared to her that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry might slowly be going down the tubes. She tried to push the thought out of her mind, and drew her attention to her owl. At least his incoherent squawking didn’t make her feel quite so homesick. And Rove wasn't the rove the worst of companions.

Rove shook his head. "Nah, not unsettling.... Just caught me off guard, is all. -and being acused vasn't much fun eider.....I like it here." Rove made a motion with his hand showing that he wanted her to follow. He then turned and began walking down the steps. It was very unexpected to be locked in the school upon arriving for the first time. It made it horrible when he was acused for being the cause of it. Although, it only came from a few second year students who didn't seem to know any better. Either way, it was horrible.

It was the first time Sabrina had heard of Rove being accused. She hoped it wasn't anything serious though, "What are you talking about? What in the world could they have accused ya for?" She might have sounded angry, but it didn't make any sense. He was too young and too kind to be capable of such evil. Any student would have to be crazy to think him guilty.
Sabrina shook her head and continued down the stairs beside Rove. She was quiet, and in thought. It seemed that she was always so deeply offended by the actions of others. Whether it be against her, or her friends. Although she and Rove weren't exactly close friends yet anyway. "Listen, if anyone gives ya any trouble, just lemme know. They're all insane anyway." She brushed away the accusations with a wave of her hand dramatically through the air. It was true. Sabrina did feel slightly distant from most of the other Hogwarts students. That wasn't to say she actually thought them to be mental. If anything she was missing a few screws herself.
She ran a chilled and shaking hand through her hair and gripped the wall once more, ready to descend the stairs. As always, Sabrina would be inept to the thoughts of falling to her death, but Rove's presence made her feel slightly less afraid.
