She didn't have it bad, she couldn't say that otherwise she would be lying. The worst she had was a father that called her a drunken whore, but that was because she'd been drunk. Reflecting on it after getting all the alcohol out of her system, she knew he didn't mean it. Knowing this, however, did not make things any easier between her father and herself. Why she didn't know. Perhaps it was the fact she didn't try to converse with him any more. She had given up many days before. Any time she sat at the table, there was complete silence between the two. They didn't even look at each other, some nights. Yes, she was ruining the family, and she knew it. She wasn't sure how Theodore felt about it, but she knew how Mia would. She would know it was all Kyrstabelle's fault, and that she was ruining the family because of her refusing to speak to her father. Now she was very secretive, and didn't come out of her room to speak to her family. Maybe she was over-reacting, but she didn't care. She wouldn't be around for very much longer. For Kyrstabelle McLaggen had found love in Michael Rodney, and would very soon, thankfully, be moving out of the McLaggen household to live with her loving boyfriend.
She still stayed out extremely late, that was the thing, and she would put money her father kept thinking she was out getting herself drunk as hell. No, she had given up drink for Michael, knowing how hard it was for him when he was drinking. He had told her about why he drunk once a year, so she realised how selfish it would have been if she kept drinking, something he had forbidden himself to do. Yes, she still stayed out late, but that was because she was around at Michael's. Watching movies, or just snuggling into his side. They had never … done it, but she didn't even care. Because she wasn't in lust with him, no. She was in love with him. So much so she was desperate to move in with him.
She had never been placed in a situation like this before. Maybe she felt guilty, and didn't want to drop a bombshell like this on them. Although they would probably be extremely pleased, or at least in her mind it was. She didn't want to tell them, not until she knew the set date she was moving in with him. And so she had a problem on her hands: When exactly would she tell them? She needed to, and knowing that it was graduation at the latest, when it was approaching so fast, she needed to tell them soon.
“I can't stay in this pit a moment longer today.” She mumbled to herself on Sunday. She was sick of staying in her room, just listening to her i-Pod all day, or visiting Michael or Helena. Maybe she should just get out of the house. The second the thought entered her head, she agreed with it. Shoving some jeans, a hoodie and converse on, she gripped her i-Pod tight in her hand, she desended downstairs at a fast pace and got to the front door, calling out rather lightly, “Bye. Back soon.”
The cool spring air made her hair tumble over her shoulders. She regretted the decision slightly because she had no idea where to go. Well, she may as well do a bit of shopping. So she set off to Hogsmeade.
The first place she headed instead of The Three Broomsticks was instead Madam Puddifoot's for a lovely hot cup of tea. She needed it, and very much so. She didn't eat or drink much at her home. She didn't do anything to help them pay for it, and so, she didn't want to eat it because she felt unworthy.
Nodding to the maid, she ordered a hot chocolate, “Hot chocolate. Please can I have some milk mixed in it? Thank you.” She watched the colours of blurred people as she waited for the steaming, foamy hot chocolate to get placed in front of her. As she did so, she wondered who, if anyone, she'd see that day. Someone new? Or someone she already knew? She didn't mind, she just wanted to talk with someone without bringing up the stupid McLaggen family.
