Noah heard the crash, and a scream. Peeves started around the corner, but Noah moved to intercept the mischievous poltergeist. His denim eyes moved up to the ages old apparition and Noah smirked. "My, my Peeves. Are you causing trouble once again? Of course you are, what else could you possibly be up to?" Noah glanced to Gabriella, a fellow Ravenclaw and winked lightly. "You know, I saw the Bloody Baron coming this way. He did not look all too pleased." Peeves took the cue and darted down the hall. He called back yelling something about icky pickle Ravenclaw goodie-two-shoes before disappearing through a wall. Noah smirked, and laughed slightly under his breath before turning back to his housemate. With a roll of his eyes he nodded to her.
"Um, you have something just right," he paused pointing at his face with an extended finger. "Well, just everywhere." There was ink all over her, and he could not help but think that Peeves must have given the poor girl a real scare. However, as any Ravenclaw knows, the easiest way to get the best of Peeves is to outsmart him. Noah learned this in year two, but sometimes the damn ghost had a way of popping up when least expected. This must have been one of those times, and he moved closer.
"Can you clean that up, or do you need some help?" He asked in a calm voice as he did not want her to think he was making fun of the mess. Noah was not the type to make fun of anyone, even if the situation was really amusing to him.

Gabby blushed he said "um,you have something just right... we'll evrywhere." "Iknow she replied i was trying to finish my homework in a quieter place and usaually trouble finds me. he had a smile on his face and said "can you clean that up, or do you need some help?" Gabriella looked down to see what drake was talking about . not only was the ink all over her but all over her bag and homework. she gasped. "Oh No! what am i gonna do now." she stamped her foot. " this is just not my day drake its been horrible all week and nothing i do seems to come out right." she slid to the floor covering her face with her hands. she was about sick and tired of this school could it get any worse? she just wished she could go home for the holidays she just needed a break ...or maybe a life.

Noah's eyes watched her as she slid down the wall. She seemed miserable, and he could not figure out why. Peeves had played more jokes on others that was much worse. It was not like there were not spells that could clean up the mess, and save her paper. Noah glanced at her and stepped forward. He moved his wand out from his robe pocket and flicked it over the mess. Within a few seconds all the ink was safely removed from the paper, the desk, and even her hair. He offered a soft smile, and placed his wand back in his pocket. He had performed this small task several times. Noah had had his own encounters with the odd Peeves, but he had never taken it this hard. She was obviously upset about more than the practical joke.
He moved closer to her and sit down with his legs stretched out in front of him. He crossed them at the ankle and listened to her breathe a few moments. After he gave her a little time to collect her thoughts, he whispered. "Would you like to talk about it? Something wrong?" He watched her from the corner of his eye, making sure not to get too close. He did not want to make her uncomfortable. Noah did not know what to expect from her at this moment, but he was willing to listen. After all, he was good at dealing with another person's problems. He was horrible at dealing with his own.

Noah draped an arm around her, and rubbed her shoulder. He did not know what to say to make things seem better. It was all true, and not for the first time he was happy he was not so close to his own family. The lock-down was making everyone crazy. Fights broke out more often, patrols roamed the once peaceful -and private- grounds. Even all his normal hiding places had been discovered and guarded. He found himself doing things to get into detentions just to keep his mind off the situation. He had seen others doing much worse than he, and Gabriella seemed to be one. He leaned in to whisper in her ear.
"I know, it is hard. But just think of this. The snow will be gone, and we will be able to enjoy some of the outdoors again. And, as for classes, I can help you there. I offer up myself as a tutor!" He smiled a little thinking of the person he had tutored last, and wondered what Tuesday was doing just this moment. He missed her, and was going to go find her after dinner. Things had been so hectic that the two seemed to never have any time alone anymore. But, for now, he wanted to make sure Gabriella was doing alright.

Gabriella sniffed wiping away her tears "thank you noah thats really sweet of you" she said " do you miss anyone" she asked? she looked into his beautiful blue eyes with a questionable look on her face.

Noah shook his head slightly. "No one on the outside dear." He thought of his father and decided that he probably would not care if he disappeared or not. Since he turned down his father when he was offered a position with the company, Noah felt more like an outsider in his own home. It did not matter to him, Noah was not going to worry about such things. There were more important issues to deal with than his father. As for missing him, no. Noah did not miss anyone on the outside of the castle walls. Everyone he really cared about were inside this lock-down. He thought that everyone who really cared for him were inside this school. Noah glanced to her and smiled.
"I am not sure my dad really cares if I am in here, or not to be honest." He laughed a little under his breathe. It was true, but he would not bother her with all the details of his issues with family. There was no point in it.

Gabriella's eyes got big with sympathy! "What, noah thats not true, who wouldn't miss you!!!! she looked down fiddling with her hands " i know i would " she said smiling she felt so much better when talking to him. it felt natural like all the walls that were squeezing her in came down. She liked his arm being around her . As she thought of this she started to blush!

Noah smiled for a moment and thought about what she said. Obviously she did not know his family, and he had no inclination to tell her. There simply was no point in it. He knew how to deal with his father, and his older brothers. He had done it for years. He remembered when he got banned from playing Quidditch, his father refused to give him anything for his Birthday, or for Christmas. Noah did not mind, if he wanted something he could get it himself. He had been saving his own money since he was in year two. None of this matter for the moment, he let the thoughts move from his mind as he turned his attention back to the young girl beside him. She seemed to be cheering up a little more, and he hoped he had helped her. "So tell me, what about these classes?"

Gabriella smiled at him. “We’ll transfiguration is awesome, but my herbology work is the one I have trouble with.” He is so sweet to her many people thought her to talk too much but Noah didn’t mind it at all it seemed. He wanted to talk to her and help her and make her feel better that it started to make her kinda shy. She really liked this boy she really didn’t feel that way about most because they all wanted one thing and that was it. But his hand their felt nice and sort of a sweet comforting way. She decided to push her luck “Why do you say that about your dad Noah?”

Noah smiled, and glanced away when she mentioned his dad. He hated to talk about his family, it was never one of the things he would consider to be high conversational pieces. In fact, he rarely even spoke about them. Often, while in detention, he would come across one of his brother's or father's name on one of the trophies while regulated to cleaning duties. He would ignore it and go on. He had fantasies about stealing those trophies and making them disappear down a storm drain. that would not prove anything. He was not bitter about them, only done. Yes, that was the term, he was done with them. Completely. Noah ignored the question and only smiled.
"Herbology is not a big issue. I am sure I can help you out there. I mean, how hard can a bunch of plants be after all. Two minds should be able to tumble a forest!" He nodded in her direction trying to forget about any conversation regarding his family.

Gabriella could feel he really didn’t want to talk about it so she dropped it and talked about her classes. “ Not when the plant has tried to strangle you it’s not” She replied . “I’m just no good at it Noah” . She smiled real big showing her teeth. She wanted to discuss more things than homework than him but she didn’t know how things like that she was no good at gabby hadn’t had a real relationship since her second year since then she gave up on it. Maybe because she thought school was more important. She let her mind wander thinking how he made her smile, and how he never told her she talked to much or that she was a weasley charity case just because she was adopted. Those things hurt the most she wished she was a real weasley.

Noah tried to recall all the things he knew about Gabriella. Sadly, he did not know too much. He was aware she was a Weasley, but she did not have the common red hair that seemed to curse most of that bread. She was also in Ravenclaw, which might have made her brighter than the common ever day Weasley. Noah had nothing against the Weasley clan. Fact was he did not know any of them on a first name basis. His logical mind thought that perhaps Gabby had been adopted. This was none of his business and made little difference in the way he would treat her. She was a person, a Ravenclaw, and a friend. Noah would be nice to her because he liked her. She was a lot younger than him, but he saw a lot of the insecurities he had seen in himself at an early age. Back then the world seemed to have been painted in a different color. She would grow into her world, he knew this. It only took some time. The pressures of school and the lock-down was being hard on her; Noah would try to help.
"Killer plants? That is a problem. Wonder what we can do about that?" He laughed lightly to let her know he was not making fun of her in the least. He wanted her to feel good about herself, and relax some. She was a good person, and a good friend. Stress just had a way of making everyone so crazy sometimes. He did not know what had happened to make her so sad. Surely it was not just Peeves. However, it did not matter now. She was smiling, and that went a long way to make him think they were on the right track to get her to feeling more like herself. Noah was not positive, but he hoped he was helping some.
He smiled back to her, and stood up. Noah stretched his arms, and back. He looked to her homework, now clean, sitting on the small work area. "What were you working on before the ink incident?" Noah leaned against the table, crossed his arms over his chest, and looked at the paper.

[glow=red,2,300] Gabriella looked as him "I don't know i hate herbology" she said, Noah stood up so she did too he asked her what she was working on before peeves irritated her. "Transfiguration Professor Mclaggen wants a foot and a half long essay on animagus's." she looked at him smiling he was so nice and sweet and treated her like she belonged. it was nice to have a friend like him. she looked at her watch it had been an hour. she blew her banes out of her eyes. "what were you coming up here for anyway Noah?" she asked curiously. She didn't want to annoy him but she was curious.she liked having Noah as a friend and now she actually felt like she belonged to this world that seemed imaginary even though her dad told her it was real but what do u expect from a 6 year old when shes first introduced to magic she had muggle friends and she just thought it was a magic trick. Her friend kelly mitchell said she was gonna be a magician when she grew up i told her i was gonna be a princess but instead shes a Witch. She looked at Noah she loved how he talked he even smelled good she wondered what cologne he used. He had pretty eyes she just realized she was staring at him she looked away quick her cheeks turned bright red she let her banes fall back into her eyes. She was embarrsed he probably thought she was wierd she didnt spend time with cute guys normally Act normal she thought to herself. She looked back up and smiled. [/glow]
