Diagon Alley seemed to be the same as always, even with all that was going on recently. The wizarding world was starting to become quite interesting, Death Eaters were becoming more and more active. That however was not entirely why he was here today, although he would've loved to actually see one at work so to speak. Pretending to read a shopping list he had wrote, Alex would make his way down the street wearing a dull black set of robes. To anyone else he would appear as a hogwarts student here for a few things before returning to school which he hoped would make others leave him be for the time being.
"Where could she be hiding."
He wondered to himself as he let his gaze wander the alley, checking the windows of several stores as he passed. Were he looking for any of his other friends he'd have tried knockturn alley, but he knew that she was struggling with her alliegences. A slight moment of irritation would take hold of him as he thought about it, he couldn't stand that thought at all. Even worse, the thought of her possibly taking the other side and turning against him one day. He would see to it that he found her today and spoke to her, she needed to know what he thought about all of this.
Alex's wandering would come to a stop as he reached the Icecream Parlour. Yawning he would lean up against the wall, looking around at the people passing him. This was pretty boring, such a bland day on top of a long struggle to locate Doryen. She was always easier to find when he wasn't looking, why now was he having so much trouble? Was she even here at all? She could be anywhere, he would have to send an Owl to find her next time. Were the circumstances any different he would have done so to begin with, but he felt that nothing of such sensitive material would make it through to her without being tampered with.
"Come out and play, Doryen.." he muttered quietly.

Life was getting pretty darn easy now. There was no more school, and that meant no studies to worry about, no early mornings to wake up to, and definately none of that pressure you got when being a Slytherin. Doryen had considered changing houses on numerous occasions. She simply wasn't a Slytherin, however, she could play the part convincingly to her friends. But only ever to an extent - Doryen could and would never dislike someone just for their race or blood status or what they believed in. She wasn't the prejudice kind, but prejudice was they key word for being a Slytherin. She'd gained many enemies for this over the years, and most of then saw through her. She simply wasn't a Slytherin. Such an irritation came upon one particular friend she had. One Doryen believed to be genuine. Doryen could see that Alexander Christinel was uncomfortable with Doryen and her odd decisions. They hadn't spoken since she'd left school three months back. Doryen was unsure weither she missed him, or weither she didn't. But she was certianly happy that she didn't have him and his 'guidance'. It was annoying to know he was trying to brainwash her in the most kind ways, but Doryen wanted to believe that Alexander was trying to help her, just in the wrong way.
Yes, life was a lot easier. Doryen only lived for herself, she was allowed to be selfish. She was switching from job to job, and had recently quit her job in the Leaky Cauldron for another profession, which is actually located just outside the Leaky Cauldron, only not in the direction of Diagon Alley. Doryen was infact working in the Muggle World, and she was loving it. The type of work she did wasn't classed really as work. Dancing on stage for the excitement and entertainment of others, it was just too easy, but maybe Doryen was a natural at burlesque. She just adored the corsets and lace attire she wore, and especially the attention she recieved. Nobody knew of her new life as a muggle. Doryen hadn't kept close to her old friends, not even her best friends, not even the girl she might have had feelings for. Doryen knew what she was giving up, and she wasn't at all happy with it. Perhaps having a double life might suit her, she'd prefer that to revealing what she does now for a living, and she wasn't even thinking about telling someone that she hadn't touched a wand or potion for months.
Doryen had ventured into Diagon Alley on a late morning, for the first time in probably a year. She'd had such a craving for ice cream since she woke up, and she knew exactly where to go. She dressed for the day's 'work' and left her apartment, hurried through the Leaky Cauldron and sprang for the Ice Cream Parlour. She went for a cup of simple chocolate ice cream, and happily dug into her first treat of the day. She walked slowly out the door and saw to her left a man muttering to himself. She heard her own name being mentioned, and she raised her perfectly defined eyebrow towards the back of Alexander Christinel, and then smirked when she realized how perfect her timing was. "Well I'm curious as to what you define as 'play' these days, but I'm up for it." And she waited for him to turn around and see her. Alexander was the first person to see Doryen as she is now.

Approaching the Leaky Cauldron , Zacky stopped and took out the note that an owl had dropped on his table a few days earlier . It was from his friend , Alexander Christinel , asking him to meet at the Ice Cream Parlour down at Diagon Ally . Zacky kept the note and walked into the Leaky Cauldron , trying to keep his profile as low as possible . Alex was a rather volatile person in Zacky's opinion , he could blow up when you least expected it . Still , it was better to have him as a friend than as an enemy . Zacky shrugged and walked into Diagon Ally .
Diagon Ally . It had been a while since Zacky had came here . Probably the last time was when he was shopping for his school books . Although that was a waste of money . Zacky didn't really care about school anymore . All he cared about was fun . Who cared if he had NEWTs the following year . He would show everyone that he could do well and have fun at the same time . Walking past Ollivander's , where he had obtained his wand . Zacky felt it in the pocket of his robes . Sometimes , he felt that it was a part of him , just dying to come out and curse someone . Turning a corner , Zacky walked towards the Ice Cream Parlour , and saw two familiar faces .
notes: hope i'm not intruding . this is the thread you spoke of right Alex ? words:252

Alex had almost given up hope of finding Doryen, he knew she could be clever and avoid everyone when she wished it. It was that exact thing that he wished to ask of her, to put herself to work for his current side in this cold war. That was how he viewed it for now, a war that seemed to be set at a stalemate, waiting for the tables to turn. He would not be crushed underneath the table when it flipped, he would stand on top of it's broken surface, victorious. That's what he told himself anyway, his dellusions were quite far out there. Yawning quietly, he'd close his eyes until he was roused from his thoughts.
A voice broke into his mind like a a light in the dark, for a moment he was able to smile, if you would call it that. He gave a sort of half amused smirk as he spun on heel to face her, coming face to face after so long. What he saw however was quite different then he'd ever expected. At first his eyes betrayed surprise, until the smirk faded from his face and he regained a sort of calm composure. He hated that she could stir such reactions from him when no one else could, it infuriated him to no end.. even if it was one of the things that kept him as her friend. She was the only one that made him feel -anything- at all.
"Doryen, what a surprise to see you here. I was beginning to think you'd run off somewhere and hid from me." he said with a smooth tone of voice as he watched several people pass in the streets. He tried to keep his eyes elsewhere while still maintaining the illusion that he was still looking at her. The simple fact was however that he was unsure how to handle what he saw, what to say, and how to proceed. What had she become in her time away from Hogwarts? Definitely not what he believed her true potential was.
"Well if you must know, since I am always up to something, I have a few questions for you." he said with a wry grin as he let slip a small laugh. "Needless to say so many more have sprung up due to your unusual clothing. But we'll get to that in due time." with his hand he would motion to the door of the Icecream Parlour, he had a feeling that was what she was after. "Suffer my questions and a day out and about with me and I'll treat you to Icecream. Sounds like old times, no?" he said smirking as he glanced towards another familiar face, he would dismiss it however, since he cared for no one in Slytherin truly except his former classmate.
"Ladies first."
