Another day, another way to avoid doing anything serious. There was little need for it, actually. Noah was happy with the way his studies had been going, even with the term's testing coming upon him like a shadow from the grave. The concerns about the school played little on his mind, as he knew once he graduated he would be far away from the tall gates, and castle walls. He had no Quidditch to worry about, being the only Ravenclaw to have ever been kicked off the team. In fact, Noah had not a care in the world. He had recently sent an owl to his father to let him know, in no uncertain terms, that he was no longer interested in working the family businesses. He had no interest in going back to America and spending the rest of his life slaving away for a man who was nothing but disappointed in his third son. Noah was beyond that now, and his goals had nothing at all to do with his family. The fact was, and he told hardly no one about his ideas, Noah wanted to do something that was much more far fetched than a normal wizarding job. He smirked to himself, his light eyes moving among the small flock of first year students moving down the path toward the pitch on the lower grade. Noah looked the other way, to the horizon.
Noah wanted to hunt people. He almost laughed as he heard the words sound off in his own mind. It sounded almost barbaric to him, almost like he was back in a dark age when men were counted on as money. However, the thrill of pitting your wits against the smartest game of all was something that appealed to him on a higher level. Throw in the danger factor due to the fact that said people did not want to be found, and you had something that Noah wanted to do more than anything his rich father could offer him. It was called different things in different places, even in the Wizarding World they had a name for it. However, no matter what, Noah decided he never wanted to work for the Ministry of Magic. He did not trust them, in fact he did not trust many people in any higher position of authority. He had seen first hand how corrupt someone could become when given a small piece of power. He had uncles that were made penniless because they could not control themselves behind one of the mahogany desks his father had issued them. He shook his head, no he would not be working for anyone else. Noah intended to become his own boss. And the path in front of him was limitless. He could take his chosen career in so many different directions that it was not even funny the amount of possibilities. He did not want to think about it now; it was more than a few months before he would graduate. For now, Noah wanted to get past this final term.
He moved to a small tree, off to the side of the lake just down the path from the castle, and placed his back firmly against the base. He moved his wand from his pocket and played with the small leather covered handle. He had designed the handle himself in his third year. Noah was not a clumsy person, but he had lost his grip on the wand several times in class. He decided then that to lose a wand could mean death in the right circumstance. He shook the through loose, and looked over the small waves on the glassy surface of the lake. His mind was becoming far away, and he thought that if something interesting did not happen this day, he might take a nap outside. Noah did not grow bored often, but when he did it usually led to bad situations. After all, you do not become the Ravenclaw with the most detentions earned in school history by just sitting around. Noah smirked, watched the water, and continued to dream.

the emotion it was electric ,AND THE STARS THEY ALL ALIGNED.i knew i had to make my decision ! An icy wind blew over the grounds of Hogwarts, lacing the air with tension. Kristin looked outside the window of her dorm, her eyes fixed upon the people below who looked like mere tiny black specks from above. She looked around the dorm to find that no one was there, everyone was in the Great Hall or wandering outside. Usually she would have found this to be a gift, as it was the weekend and she was extremely tired from the previous night. Although most would assume that she curled up in a ball and wrapped the sheets around her she didn't. Actually, she had attempted to, however the sunlight that came shining through large, chrystal, cathedral-like windows prevented that. Kris groaned, shifting to side of her bed so that her feet touched the plush carpet that was placed beside it. She lifted herself on her feet, heading straight for her dresser, opening it, she took out a pair of jeans and a sweater. She proceeded to change, and looked out the window once more. Kris took a pair of boots and shoved her feet in them, grabbing a scarf before walking out the door.
The hallways were frigid, making the young Ravenclaw literally shiver in her boots. Kristin wrapped the scarf securely around her neck preparing for the worst, and opened door to the outside. The cold air blew across her face, engulfing her body, snow flakes falling gracefully to the ground. She folded her arms and looked around, nobody was outside and if they were the snow was hiding them quite effectively. The lake stood out the most in the winter wonderland, it sat there, its water still and quiet. That's what she needed, peace and quiet. With Xenia's wedding, Laci's parental problems, and the school being on lock down life was rather stressful. Kristin started walking towards the lake, feeling the snow beneath her feet crumble under the pressure. She looked at the trees, loaded with mounds of snow, the branches sagging near to the ground. Kris stuck her hands in her pockets, fastening her pace towards the lake. A few house mates shouted some hello's and others motioned for her to join them in a snow day.
She simply declined their requests and continued her journey to the lake. As scary as it seemed, the black lake wasn't all so bad. It was a rather nice place to be, not matter the conditions. The lake also brought back great memories- swimming with Rhys, meeting Xenia-that stuck with her. The closer she got, the more the scent of fresh water and plant life filled her nose. Kristin found a rock that was resting beside the lake and sat on it, staring directly into water and looking at her reflection. She realized the large amount of snow that had fallen into her hair, and shook it off, laughing at herself quietly in the process. Kris looked around once more, no one was around. She got up from the rock and searched for a more comfortable place to just sit and rest. She found a tree, which was covered by snow, but still had a fair amount of leaves that hadn't fallen off of it, giving a nice canopy like coverage.
While moving towards the tree she noticed someone, she wasn't quite sure who it was given the distance, but it was definitely someone. She craned a neck a bit to get a better look at who it was. She still couldn't see who it was, but it obviously wasn't someone suspicious. Kristin walked closer towards the tree, the person's outline getting sharper and clearer. They definitely looked familiar. "Hello?" she let out, hoping to get their attention. She inched closer, and closer only to discover that it was Noah Drake. A boy whom she had been dating on and off with all year long.

Noah's icy eyes opened as he realized the world had turned into a haze. He stretched momentarily, thinking he should not doze so easily on the grounds while the world suffered turmoil around him. As his thoughts began to clear, and a cold wind moved over his face, he heard a soft voice. It was familiar, although tentative in it's tiny "Hello?" Noah knew it instantly, and his eyes followed the small amount of space on the ground between where he sat, and where she stood. His eyes moved to her feet, then leaped up to look into the eyes of someone he found himself with constant mixed emotions. One day she was an angel, quiet, beautiful, someone he would hope he could spend the rest of his life with. Then next, well if there was ever an opposite to emotional perfection, he made the comparison all too easy. Kristin, his love, his hate, his ball of desire wrapped tightly in the twine of contempt. Of all the people he could be disturbed by on a day like this, she was the one he would most desire to have disturb him. And, for that matter, the one he would rather not see today. Was his heart as confused as his mind, and his eyes when he gazed at her? The bright white shirt, with large heart on the front seemed to hover over him as he moved to stand up. Noah's hands drifted over his own pants, moving off small patches of dirt and even a small amount of snow. He had been dreaming of warmer weather, which is not odd considering his dreams were normally abnormal. He offered a soft smile, and all but crossed his fingers that she would be in one of her lighter moods.
He had no intention of painting her in a negative light. Of all their fights, and confrontations he had to be blamed for at least half. It does take two to tango, even if that tango is a dance of bitter words and hurt feelings. He did not want that for today, in fact Noah found himself not wanting to confront her about anything at all. He was tired of fighting with her, it was a lost cause. She was also a Ravenclaw, and her words could be as sharp as knives when she wanted to lash out. He had been on the bitter end of several of those lashings, and they did not sit well on bruised egos, and mending hearts. Noah was not a romantic by nature, but if he ever felt inclined to be so it would be Kristin as his inspiration. Sadly, when Noah needed to feel anger she served mostly as the same inspiration. How could two opposing halves live in one soul? He did not know, but he saw everything wonderful in her... and everything dark and painful. She was his all, and his nothing. Noah was confused by this girl, more than anything else he ever encountered in life. But, he would never let her know this. Noah was also foolishly proud.
"Odd running into you out here on a day like today. I never figured you for a cold weather sort, you know?" He wanted to keep things on a sociable level, to see what mood she was in on this day. Currently, they were not dating. The last "break-up" for them had been two weeks prior. They had spoke so little between that time and this, even when sharing several classes. However, in Noah's mind, this was not a bad thing. If they were not speaking often then they were not fighting often. Not fighting sounded like a wonderful idea to him at this time. He had no fear of fighting with her, if he were to be honest with himself he could freely admit that most of his attraction for her came from the verbal altercations they shared. Yes, she was beautiful, one only had to look at her to see this. She had a smile that could melt the snow around them, a look in her eye that showed more than just a blond bombshell of a girl, and the way she placed her hands on her slender hips sent waves of want through his entire body. Yet, there was so much more to her than this. She was intelligent, she was well spoken, and she was everything he could hope for in a mate. Noah did not allow these thought to enter into his expression as he smiled to her. He knew, without a doubt, that when their eyes finally met that she would melt him, again. She had a way of making every night look bright as day, and Noah -still reeling from his casual dozing and odd dreams- knew that at this moment she could have him exactly where she wanted him.
Noah continued to smile.

the emotion it was electric ,AND THE STARS THEY ALL ALIGNED.i knew i had to make my decision ! It was no secret that Kristin was a rather frustrating girl. She was known to be loving and caring one second, and the next would be filled with high tensions and angst. Most people that knew her though had trying patience. Which, more than often, never lead to anything good. However, those people had learned to deal with her blunt criticism and sharp sarcasm. It was a way of life when it came to knowing her, it took a lot of getting used to. One could say it was a sacrifice in a sense, having to take the time to put yourself in another's visuals. Looking to Noah she noticed in his eyes that he was in no intention to fight with her. Luckily for him, neither was she. Today wasn't the day for a war, it was much too peaceful, much too quiet. There was no need to disturb anyone today. Kristin noticed the large heart print on her sweater, oh irony. She back at her fellow house mate, no longer boyfriend due to a recent breakup, resting herself next to him. Do you mind if I sit? she asked a rather rhetorical question. Odd running into you out here on a day like today. I never figured you for a cold weather sort, you know? he said, she could hear a trace of restrain in his voice. She looked at him before replying I never have been, I grew up in a very sunny place actually she began But, I thought today was too good of a day to pass up. Running a hand through her hair she looked out into the far distance, unable to view the horizon clearly. This lock down was being taken very seriously. It was no surprise though, they had been sending threats to the school. And more importantly, Headmaster LeBlanc's daughter Kelsey. As much as Kris hated the whole idea of being stuck in a castle unable to contact the outside world, or be contacted, it was fairly reasonable. However, she felt as though they were taking it to almost a ridiculous extent. But, that was her opinion, and her opinions were always blunt. Kristin's hazel eyes wandered around the scenery, watching as the hundreds of thousands of snow flakes gracefully fell to the ground. She looked back at Noah, whom just sat there, most likely consumed in thought. There was a high physical attraction between the both, it was obvious. This attraction usually ended up in jealousy, whether or not they were in a relationship at the moment or not. Kristin had always found it to be rather hilarious that she would feel a small fit of anger knowing that he was with another girl, or talking to her at least. Jealousy was a rather funny thing all in all though. However, it was also nice to know that someone cares for you enough to be even slightly afraid they might lose you, it was a refreshing feeling. It was that special something that only that special someone could bring to you. Kris opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She was a little too lost in her thoughts for words at the moment. Her mind kept going back and forth because of the boy that she was sitting next to. Kristin was rather confused by Noah, but only in the slightest way, probably because she didn't even quite understand herself yet. Noah, she started, trailing off a bit Why do you suppose this always happens to us? she asked, hoping he knew what she was talking about. Kristin was actually very intrigued by this question. Was it that it was supposed to be like this? Or that it would always be this way? It was an enigma, wrapped in a conundrum. An icy wind blew across the grounds, sending a chill to her body, she placed her feet on the ground bringing her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. It was getting colder by the minute, but she hadn't noticed the temperature drop at all. Kris looked back out to the horizon, nothing was changing. It was still as peaceful as ever, the snow was still falling, forming fluffy piles on the Hogwarts grounds. Today was leading to be a good day, hopefully it would stay this way. Kristin wasn't into looking for a fight today, she just wanted to sit and relax, she wanted to emerge herself into what the day had to offer her, alongside Noah.[/blockquote] WORDS ,, 758 ! For the slightest of moments, Noah was confused as to what she had meant. His own thoughts had gone to the romantic side of their on-again off-again relationship only moments before, and he had moved on to being content with her seemingly unwillingness to fight. He was considering that this encounter might actually turn out to be good, and not end in a huff with one -or both- of them stomping off and not bothering to look back. He hated the childish games they always seemed to play. The last one was over a glance a Slytherin boy had given Kris in the Great Hall. Nothing more than a glance, and the reputation of the said Slytherin, had been enough to make Noah upset. His own jealousy often gnawed at him like a small mouse on his emotional cheese. Of course, as it so often turned out, there was never anything between his love and the Slytherin who would thrill to know he caused this most recent break-up. Noah would not mention this now, even though he felt sorry that he had let things go as far as they had that day. It was not like she was never at fault; he could recall several times when her own jealousy caused them to end a night in a screaming contest. Without hope of reconciliation, Noah was wondering what he would say to her, and then she asked her soft question. Noah glanced to his hands, then looked up at her and it happened. His eyes connected with hers, and his heart began to speed up in his chest. It was like a prancing of the feet of horses when they were preparing to race. Only, Noah had a harder time controlling his heart rate than he would reigning in said horses. He shrugged slightly, moving his shoulders up and keeping his smile firmly resting on his lips. Yet, he could not take his eyes off her.
"Well," he mumbled not knowing exactly how to answer. He knew the answer, of course, was that they were always too jealous of the attention the other would garner from the opposite sex. However, if he blurted out the obvious it would start a new round of fighting. Noah did not want to fight, and was relieved that she appeared to not want that confrontation. He continued, his voice a little softer than before, "I often thought that I might not be the one you really wanted. Like, I don't know, at times you would become bored with me. Given the current conditions," he motioned to the grounds. He was meaning the lock down, and the situation with their shared school. He knew she would understand him; they shared a connection when they talked that made communication much easier. "I figured you were just too frustrated, and felt too caged in to have me tie you down." Although the both felt strong jealousy, this statement was not far from the real truth. Noah had always felt that Kris felt caged in, and wanted out. He always thought that she felt like he was tying her down when she was meant for better things. Most of the way Noah felt made him always on edge with Kristin, like he was dancing on egg shells and hoping not to crack any while he played the waltz of heartbreak. Still, he wanted to know how she really felt, and since she broached the topic he could do nothing but answer.
Noah moved closer to her, his eyes still looking at hers. He had an urge to be close to her when they were together. When there was no bad moods, or fighting, he always wanted to spend time with her. Like he had thought earlier, when it was good, it was real good. He wondered what she would do if he reached out and touched her hand, the way he did when they were alone. A soft touch usually said much more than words between the two of them. He felt so connected to her at times, even if they had only really got physical once or twice, and never as far as anywhere near what the muggles would call "all-the-way." He smiled to her, his eyes dropping slightly to her hands as he tried to hide the sudden blush. When he felt he had his expression under control he looked back up to her, his eyes once again on hers. His hand inched out, his pinky finger extended.
Noah softly, and quietly, touched her hand. {{Your post was wonderful. You under estimate yourself. I think we are writing real chemistry between these two. So far, I say, so good. Do you agree?}}

the emotion it was electric ,AND THE STARS THEY ALL ALIGNED.i knew i had to make my decision ! The smart girl, the indecisive girl, the pretty girl, the modern mystery. All these labels could describe Kristin, and they did, quiet well in fact. For years on end she rarely spoken to anyone. Of course many people recognized her for this always wanting to approach her, but never did because it was confusing as how to. Many had problems figuring out why she was so quiet, Ravenclaw or not, but when she was with friends she was as loud as could be. This of course attracted many boys, all finding her attractive, all trying to coax her out of her shell and the rest of their intention's most obvious. It never worked though, all their attempts for nothing. For any other normal girl it probably would have, but she was a Ravenclaw, wiser than the others, and her family raised her in a strict conservative household. Strict as in meaning skirts were to be at least past the knees, only a few centimeter's above the knees were either ruled out, or a one time exception.
Kristin's parents found this to be a positive reinforcement, hoping to teach their youngest (and only) daughter not to grow to be a cheap floozy. And they were right, but only to a certain degree, Kris had learned how to dress herself appropriately, but with everything came with a price. She rebelled against her parents, in which she had never done, it just a blow to them. She recalled a fight she had with her mother once when she had been caught talking to one of the local "bad boys" of the neighborhood. Her mother went up to her, furious, a heated argument surfaced and once they had finished she had sent dearest Kristin inside the house. Kris had never argued with her mother, not even raised her voice at, and this could hurt any mother. However, it hurt her mother quite a bit, to know that your daughter was against you? It was heart wrenching. Who would want to know that their little girl had grown into something other than what they'd expected them to be?
Of course Kristin did have a point. Her mother had no right to yell at her, for she was only being asked a simple question. Even if that question came from the boy that her family had a strong opinion about. She hadn't even had the intention to speak to him, for she had no interest in him either. He was a rather horrible person, Kris had always thought down on him, and for being an opinionated person she had rather low standards on the way she perceived others. She is judgmental, but only when it is necessary, which lead to her snarky opinions and harsh criticism. All in all it was genetics, her family was full of critics whom expected more out of people than they should, but she gained the better side of the trait. Kristin kept her opinions to herself unless asked to share them, but once she shared them it was a rather full-blown kind of thing.
But she always felt as though she needed to judge to make herself feel better about herself. Even if it was a tad. Which sparked her jealousy, and from jealousy comes insecurity. Most of the arguments she had had with Noah came from jealousy, whether it was from her end or his. That's when the nastier side of Kris came out, the side that could make anyone rethink a relationship with someone like her. Someone like Kristin would have to try their up most hardest to bite their tongue, which was exactly what she had to do from time to time. Out of all the terrible things that came out of her mouth, she always had something worse than that, that she had managed to hold back. It was never easy though, it took everything she could to keep quiet.
Kristin was always happy with herself in the end though, despite anything she had said, because she knew there was something even worse to that, that she could have, but didn't. However, she never always was pleased with herself, she found it harder and harder to just keep her mouth shut in an argument. She actually never wanted to argue, it was mostly a sub-conscious thing that would nip at her. In only a second did she return to reality, as she was in her own little world, and notice the world around her again. In only a quick second did she find herself staring back at Noah, their eyes connecting for a few mere moments before she quickly averted them back at the ground. Her pulse rate became uneasy, and she blinked a few times before taking a deep breath.
It was like falling in love again, as cliché as it sounded. I often thought that I might not be the one you really wanted. he began the answer to her question Like, I don't know, at times you would become bored with me. Given the current conditions, he finished. She shook her head at the thought. She knew she tended to be rather secluding at times, but had it been worse than she thought? It was just another one of the few lovely traits she had achieved for herself. She watched as he motioned to the grounds, it made sense, but being stuck in one place could drive a person to insanity. I figured you were just too frustrated, and felt too caged in to have me tie you down. he began again. Kristin looked up at him, her eyes twinkling with apology. She felt another small gust of wind blow across the grounds and rubbed her hands together, the weather was turning from a bearable temperature to an icy death wish. These were the times that she wished she would have just kept all of her opinions and urges for an argument to herself. It was unfair to everyone else that they had to listen to her constant babble whenever she found it to be convenient for her. Especially to Noah, she had taken most of it out on him. Within the year they had been dating on and off she had taken almost all of her problems out on him. She just simply manifested them into something other than what they were. Out of all the verbal altercations they had, most of them could have been prevented, or even down-sized, but they weren't. Mostly because she felt the need to "let it all out" which she never did often. From the corner of her eyes she noticed him move, only slightly though. But he had moved closer to her, which made her heart jump for a second. Then for the second time their eyes meet again, Kris felt as though her heart might jump out of her chest. He then extended his hand, and touched hers. A feeling of relief washed over her entire body, and she grabbed his, looking up at him and smiling again. [/blockquote] WORDS ,, 1,181 ! TAGGED ,, noah ! The touch was subtle, at first, then she took his hand and smiled. Could things really be good between them, with all the bitter words shared. He knew that she hid more of who she really was than she would ever share with anyone in the castle. He had heard the rumors of her wicked ways, forcing boys to love her and then the clicking of her heels as she walked away. In fact, he thought of these rumors each time they had one of their fights. It was a constant thought that always seemed to rain down on any parade of happiness he might feel when around her. He always figured she would leave him, and not look back. How could you stay with someone who you were not sure wanted to be there in the first place? Noah ended up with more questions than answers, and in the seconds between the first words shared, and the smiles share in the frozen winds of coming winter, Noah had none of the answers popping up on the horizon. He had poured his heart out to her-as much as he had dared- and she had said not a single word in return. Her actions spoke volumes, but in those actions he still had no answers from her. He did return the smile, and could think of nothing else to add to what he had told her. He could not bring himself to tell her how he felt for her, and how strong things seemed to be becoming between them. Even if this was all in his mind, he had no idea how he could ever let her know. Yes, Noah was afraid he was a game to her, another notch on her bed post as the old muggle saying goes. He was never clear where he stood with her, and at times he thought she hated him more than she could ever love anyone. It was clear to him how little he really knew of this girl who had begun to capture his heart. At the same time, he was aware that he needed to know. Now. Was. Not. The. Time.
...His thoughts faded away as the wind moved around them, and he stepped closer to her. He did not often hesitate when it came to Kris. This part he always felt he got right when it came to her. His free hand moved up to touch her cheek, and his head tilted slowly to one side to make the difference in height between them disappear. Noah's lips touched hers, a small movement at first before his body moved against hers. His hand squeezed lightly, and his fingers moved around her cheek to disappear into her blond hair. The kisses they had shared in the past had always been intense, filled with what he longed for, but this one sent a tingle down his spine and into the tips of his toes that no winter wind could ever hope to accomplish. It was both electric and fluid in one motion, combining to become a new sensation that would melt the heart of any frozen man in any other situation. Restraint had to be made, or he would take her to the ground, no eyes on them going noticed, as he made her his. Onlookers be damned, and his hand moved down her neck, touching her back, and he paused and stepped back.
Noah's eyes were wide with what he almost did, his hands trembled with a mixture of excitement and embarrassment. The two had spent time together in the past, had even gone further than this intense kiss on more than the one occasion. However, even when he had dared to touch her under her shirt, he had never felt a moment of utter release like he had almost felt on the grounds of Hogwart's this day. He inhaled, his cheeks went a light pink, and he attempted a smile. He tried to speak, but words would not come out. She had a way of exciting him with just a look, and the vision of what he wished they could do had made the look on her face even more exotic in this moment. He shook his head, his fingers moving through his short cropped hair as his eyes averted to the ground. He was quick to collect his thoughts, and when he looked back to her was almost completely himself once again.
"You know, you have a way of making my knees turn to water." His voice came out in a breath of frost in the cold air. "I am not entirely positive that is something you should really know about me." He teased, but could still feel her on his lips, and in his arms. She was like a magnet that attracted his body of metal dust into her radiating circle. He longed to take her into his arms again, to kiss her some more, to... He left the thought go, and realized that all the steps he thought he had taken were nothing but movements of his waist as he was still sitting on the ground with the girl who maintained most his daily attentions. He stood up, dusted off his pants, and moved to stand over her. "Kris? Let's walk." He held his hand out to her, his denim eyes gazing down to her, his heart racing like a stallion in the track of his chest. {{That is an amazing post for her to have not said a single word. I am afraid that my post does not even come close to standing up to yours.}}

the emotion it was electric ,AND THE STARS THEY ALL ALIGNED.i knew i had to make my decision ! This wasn't happening. Was it? It seemed only that moments before Kristin had been lost in deep thought, wondering about everything, every single thing. It was a haze, she felt as though her world was spinning. It was something that she had really never felt before. Running her free hand through her hair she looked at the castle, watching as a number of students bustled inside. It wasn't easy to be trapped inside a school, unable to have contact with the outside world. Schoolwork had piled up rapidly, she had no time to herself anymore. She considered herself lucky to even find the time right now to be outside. This was hard enough, and now, now she had mends to fix. As much as she didn't want to deal with this, she knew she had to. It was either postpone her normal routine, or life in general. And life could not be postponed. Kris would somehow, some way find a way out, she knew she could. It would just take time, and a great load of effort.
Kristin remembered the previous night with Kaelyn. The two girls sat on the stairs leading to the girls dorms. They both sat there, talking about all the chaos that had been happening. That's what Kris needed, she needed that push, someone that said "Hey we're all going through it". Which gave her a little more confidence in herself, this wasn't easy for anyone. Kris snapped back to reality, she was in her own little world for sure, she felt the warmth that generated between her and Noah's hands. She was still in awe of how this could happen. This morning she hadn't even intended to interact with anyone, and then she found Noah-the last person she had on her mind- and here they were, holding hands. It was a game in a way, a game that Kristin kept playing whether or not she realized it. And that was the thing, she didn't want to realize it. She wanted to push it away, she wanted it to go away as if though it had never happened. Kristin wanted it all to go away honestly. She wanted a new, clean slate.
And then, in what seemed like a blink of an eye, he moved closer to her again. Caressing her cheek, he tilted his head, and she felt her lips press against his. This had caught the young Ravenclaw by surprise, her eyes wide open for the first few seconds, but her surprise faded away. She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck, all the questions that had rolled into her head quickly unraveled and she forgot all about them. However, she knew that soon enough more would come in and replace the others, but she didn't care. Her body moved along with his, causing the kiss to become even more glorifying. Suddenly a thought had found it's way into her mind. She was about to break off the kiss to say something, but she couldn't open he mouth to speak. Kris also knew that nothing would come out. Why bother?
It was rather interesting to her how in one second she could hate someone- or at least that's what she thought- with such a passion, and the next she found herself sharing such an intimate moment with them. It was one of those things that she was able to do to most men. As much as she hadn't meant for it to happen, it happened. She could feel as people looked at the two in while walking past them, this however, did not affect her. Into the kiss she felt Noah's hand trail down from her neck to her back. In only a second did he stop and step back from her, as though she were a poisonous flower. Kris watched as he he looked at her, his cheeks flushed pink. She let out a small laugh before burying her face in her hands. Looking up again she also let out a soft sigh, watching as he attempted a smile.
It was this, this scenario that kept popping up in her head and sending a flood of questions through her mind. What would happen after this? She didn't know. Why did it happen? Kris couldn't explain it. How could something like this happen anyways? So many questions, so little answers. However, that was how the world worked. Some questions could simply not be answered, or you had to answer them for yourself. That's how it would always be. You know, you have a way of making my knees turn to water. Noah said in the midst of everything. Another small laugh escaped Kristin's lips. I am not entirely positive that is something you should really know about me. She looked at him, smiling rather stupidly. I'm not entirely sure myself. But I'll keep it in mind she replied quietly, rocking back and forth on her heels. This was still rather hard for her to process. Replaying it back in her mind, she could only stare in disbelief. Kristin didn't know how she did it, but whatever she did do, seemed to work out fantastically. As a child she was constantly told that she would grow up to be a heart-breaker, or something of that sort. However, everyone told this to their child, and never intentionally. Somehow, she managed to achieve this goal. If that was even the right word to use for it. Kris? Let's walk. That was the last thing she heard, she turned her attention back to Noah, noticing as he extended his hand out. Kris simply nodded, taking his hand and attaching her securely around it. If Noah could be one of the bird flying overhead, life would be much easier. There would not be such things as lock-downs, homework, parents, and love. The last one was the one that always confused him the most. As intelligent as he was, he could not wrap his mind around this concept. Of course he knew what it was, in the sense of dictionary terms. However, the chemical reaction that small four letter word invoked within him was something he did not understand. He was not sure he could understand; nor, if he wanted to know. He could love this girl walking beside him, he was almost positive. Yet, he could just as easily hate her. She says so much with her eyes, and hardly lets her mouth say the words. It is always like this with Kris, Noah knew. Unless they were fighting she spoke very little about things. In fact, she did not even know what he wanted to do after graduation. Noah had never told her, he was afraid she would not approve. Then the ending would be final, and this was something he wanted to avoid. He did not even know if there had yet been a beginning. She was an enigma. He found that this was one of the main reasons he was attracted to her; Noah could not figure her out. That was not fair to her, and he knew that much.
Her hand was soft in his, even though he felt like there was a small reluctance in her walking with him. He knew that her fight or flight instincts were much higher than his. She just used them all back wards in his opinion. She would fight when they should never fight, she would run away when they got close. Almost like when the right button was about to be pushed, she would remove her finger from the situation. This could be taken in many different ways, and Noah's logical mind struggled to decide which direction it was all going. He did not have a clue, only that they were in this moment, in this now. The lake glistened beside them, the surface moving slightly and would soon be frozen over again. He wondered if the giant squid had emotions, if it ever felt love. He imagined that if he could be a giant squid he would not have to worry about such things. However, Noah was not often subject to flights of fancy such as this line of thinking was taking him. He glanced to Kris and stopped to face her.
Was this the time for the talk he had been avoiding for so long? Did he have the nerve to ask her the question he needed the answer? He was not sure, and as he opened his mouth the words seemed stagnant on his tongue. He felt angry, but not at her. He was disappointed in himself for not being able to solve this problem; he wanted a better understanding of his reactions around her. More, he wanted to know what caused his reactions when someone else paid attention to her. He did not know if she had those answers, but she seemed to be so much further into the game than he. His eyes moved slowly to the ground and he picked a spot between them. He stared when he spoke.
"What are we doing?" He lifted his head, and looked into her eyes. He tried to deflect the onrush of emotion that her subtle glances sent through him. It was a hard task to perform, but he managed not to tremble. "We have done this back and forth so often that I lost track of which direction we are moving. I know you Kris, yet I know so little about you. It hurts me when you are away, but I also feel that is the only peace I am ever offered. Why do we share so many polarizing emotions? Hell, I do not even know if you share them." He let go of her hand, and turned away. His eyes drifted close, and he rubbed his forehead. This was not going exactly how he imagined the beginning of their talk would go. In fact, he sounded like more than a fool inside his own head. He would swallow the anger building up inside him, the constant disappointment that he placed on himself. He should know better. He half expected her to walk away, in fact that was what he was hoping would happen. No, that was a lie he told himself. He did not want her to walk away, he wanted to know what the fuck was going on between them. He wanted to know how he could love her so deeply, but hate her more than anyone he had ever known. He needed to know why he even hated her in the first place. He wanted words, explanations without a fight. He bit his lip.
Noah Marlow Drake turned around, and hoped. {{No, it was not just as good. Your posts are amazing. You are a very good writer, and I am typing my little fingers off just to keep up. I love the tension though.}}

the emotion it was electric ,AND THE STARS THEY ALL ALIGNED.i knew i had to make my decision ! These were the times where Kristin wanted to just leave, get out, take back everything. These were the times where she wanted to pretend none of this was happening and run inside to hide herself from the world. She couldn't help but want to leave him there, and just run, run away from her problems. But, she couldn't, well she could unless she wanted to put a negative connotation on herself. She couldn't understand how easily she could get herself into something like this. Kris felt as thought it was all utterly her fault, but she would of course never admit it, even if it was only half true. How? How could she so easily want this boy out of her life, as much as she wanted him in? It was a rather difficult question to answer, considering the fact she didn't even want to know. Kris just didn't want to find out the most likely horrendous behind it all. It certainly would be that way, she knew it, there was no other way around it.
Her mind rattled with question while her body moved slowly, gracefully alongside Noah. If she were to express with body language the pace her mind was racing at, she wouldn't even be able to. It would push the human limitations too far. Which, is why she wasn't one to use body language to describe her thoughts, merely her emotions. If that made any sense at all. In her mind she wanted to just see what happens when she tears the world apart. To see if she can make a change. She never could fully understand her need for change, everyone needed it, but she craved it the most. Her only theory was the ne that included her parents. To be dramatic Kristin would say she had the world's most overprotective parents, which in fact is not true, but she can not help but at least blurt it out once in a while. However, having to be sheltered from almost every single thing that could possibly hurt you in your life, even if it wasn't supposed to be dangerous, could drive anyone to insanity. And that's were she was, or at least almost there.
It was almost like she was wrapped in bubble tape for about a good fifth of her life. This is why change meant so much to her, and she wanted it, whether good or bad. This, this was the attitude that led her to these things, it was the trigger. She disliked that fact that everything had to stay the same. Kris knew in later times she would come to despise change with a passion, but for now it was a joy to her. She could not imagine her life without change. This was why she pushed away from people when they wanted or needed her there the most. Kris didn't want to make it seem as though she was cold, heartless but it gradually ended up to that. The one's who confided in her the most were pushed to the side while she pranced away, as though she did nothing. She never wanted it that way, but it seemed as though it just seemed to happen. Her need for change wasn't exactly the loveliest gift one could be given.
She continued to walk beside Noah, her hand in his, her eyes set on the scenery around them. As peaceful as she looked, she wasn't. She was walking beside the boy whom she had put through hell and back, and was most likely going to do again. It was inevitable, she couldn't simply not do it, and it wasn't out of free will. She was just a rather complex person, whom allowed her complexity the cloud the minds of others. A small sigh escaped her lips before she rubbed her temples with her free hand, this wasn't easy. It never was going to be easy, and it was going to follow her the rest of her life. Kristin wanted to stop and ask him what was going on, but she didn't. It was probably going to start something, and that's what she didn't want right now. She just wanted to clear her head, unravel all of the ridiculous questions that were staring her right in the face. And in only a mere second did Noah stop and face her.
And somehow, one of the simplest questions in the world, became one of the hardest. What are we doing? Well, what were they doing? Another question managed to wriggle its way into her mind, which was already overcapacity. But, as mind boggling as it was, it was rather truthful in an unconventional way. All she had was two choices, answer or think, but it was obvious that she would do both. Kristin had already done enough, why not just answer him for a change? And there it came again, change. It was a rather tricky thing that snuck up on her. You know if I could answer you truthfully I would, her words as soft as a feather But, I don't think I can. Because don't even know myself. How could she know? Her mind was a wonderland full of thoughts, sprinkled inside her head.
We have done this back and forth so often that I lost track of which direction we are moving. I know you Kris, yet I know so little about you. It hurts me when you are away, but I also feel that is the only peace I am ever offered. Why do we share so many polarizing emotions? Hell, I do not even know if you share them.
That was it, that was the response she was waiting for. It described his true feelings, it was almost like striking gold for her. She looked up at him, her warm amber eyes conflicting with his icy blue ones, before she opened her mouth. You know I often wonder what would have happened if we had never met. I find myself sitting in the common room staring out a window thinking 'If I were ever given the chance to take everything back, would I?' and do you know what I say?" she paused for only a half a second I say I would, because it's unfair what I've done to you. But I feel these pangs of insecurity. And it makes me feel worthless you know? But, I suppose I don'y make any sense. I don't find myself to be enough for you, even if I am. I've seen the girl you've been tutoring, she's adorable. Why, why don't you just go hit something of with her? As hard as it was for her to let out she looked at him for a few moments, stepping a few steps back, about ready to turn around and just walk away. She had said her piece, couldn't she just walk away?

An internal sigh, and his eyes slid shut. The mind was terrible inside his head, thought flowing in all directions. He wanted to be mad, to rush off and never speak to her again. He wanted to go to her, hold her, love her. She was pushing him away again, and the pain was there. So was the relief, it was like a wave breaking over him that cooled his hot temper, and made him relax. At the same time he was tense, and wanted to fight with her. Sometimes he felt the only way to make her understand was to shake her, to yell until it was clear; but, Noah was not that type of person and felt sad that she brought that emotion out in him. He was not pleased about this situation, and her bringing up a girl that had nothing at all to do with the fact that they were standing right here fighting over something they should have let go last year. He shook his head, and attempted to collect his thoughts. He remember the last time they had shared a laugh, and the fool he had been shortly after.
They were sharing an ice cream, something completely odd to do since the snow was drifting around them in heaps. His eyes held hers, and he tilted his head. Noah's lips had ached to touch hers, but she had teased him with small kisses the entire day. She held the ice cream in between them, and moved to kiss him. He had closed his eyes, moving forward, and his lips tasted... peach. Ice cold hit his emotionally heated lips as she smashed the ice cream into his face. She had laughed and dashed off as he stood there in shock. She had always done this silly little things, playing her games, and making him laugh and scratch his head all at the same time. He had roared and chased after her in mock indignity. The snowballs started to fly and soon both of them were wet to their bones, nearly half frozen in the cold weather. They walked up to the tower in silence, sharing nothing but small giggles. She kissed him on the stairs, and disappeared to the girl's dorm for a change of clothes. Noah had stood there, his fingers touching the place she had kissed him. His eyes far away as he felt the love her held for her. Things tended to change...
She had returned later to find him changed and ready to go to dinner. She locked arms with him and they walked through the portal with smiles. She was in one of her good moods, and her eyes looked at everything as the two of them moved through the small crowd of students going down to the Great Hall. Someone bumped them, and she almost tripped forward. She straightened up laughing and nudged the person back. Noah did not know him, was unsure if he had ever saw the taller Slytherin in his life. It was obvious Kris had known him, and his smile faded quickly. Noah tried to fight it down, but his temper turned red inside him. His hand moved out faster than he had expected and a fist connected with the lips of the Slytherin student. Kris had been thrown back and fell into a sitting position on the stairs. Noah then moved in front of her, his wand already out and pointing to the group of Slytherins. He had ignored her pleas to quit, his anger was too deep; the jealous over took him. It did not turn into a fight, the Transfiguration Professor had stepped in and order yet another detention for Noah. Kris had stomped off and did not say a word to Noah for days. The last fight happened days earlier, with the break up shortly after. Noah sighed.
He opened his eyes looking at the shorter girl, and not knowing exactly what to say. He did not know if he should fight for her, try to keep her close, or let go. He did not like the idea of giving up, and it hurt him not a little. But, he thought that letting go would be exactly what the pair of them needed. He did not think she wanted him, or she would not be the one pushing away. She even said she wished she never even met him, which clawed away at his heart in ways that he had not expected. Her words moved through him and he swallowed an angry reply. He turned away and looked at the crashing waters of the lake, the moon light was pouring down causing silver threads to move through the water. He shivered, but not due to the weather. He had to fight to keep his anger under control.
He tried to pick his next words carefully. He wanted to ignore so much of what she said, but knew he could do no such thing. It was not within him to do this. He tried hard to make sense of what she said, to find some crack in the armor of her words, to figure out if she was testing him by what she said. Was she trying to make him into the bad guy here, so she could walk away looking like roses in the ending of their relationship? Was she actually testing him to see if he would fight for her, secretly hoping he would say the right thing and make things perfect between them once again. Noah did not know, but he felt time slipping through the creases of his heart like sand running away the seconds in an hour glass. He felt as if he was being buried under that sand, soon he would be unable to breathe. Soon he would be unable to make any sense out of anything in his life, let alone keep track of this conversation. She was right in front of him, but she was miles away. She was an untouchable planet floating through the heavens of the universe, and he could not reach her. She could shine down on him and all he could do was look at her in the night sky, and wish upon her. His wishes might never come true, and his heart broke for that moment. And he smiled, and looked at her.
"Is this what you want? To push me away? To piss me off enough for me to just walk away? You always try to tunnel deep into me and make things seem like it is my fault." This was not the direction he wanted to go, these words were not the ones he wanted to speak. This was not how tonight was suppose to turn out. The excitement he felt when he first saw her now felt like a weight on his shoulder, something he could no longer hold up and carry. He did not want to fight, he did not want to be angry, he did not want her to hate him, and he had no idea how to avoid any of these things. He did not know exactly what to do, but if she wanted to walk away Noah planned on giving her the first step. "Instead of playing these games, Kris... just go. If you want to go, and you do not want me in your life... there is the castle. You know what to do." He hated to sound like that, and hated to say those words. But if the only way to let her be happy was to let her go, he was going to do that for her. Noah did not hate her in this moment, in fact he thought once she left he might shed tears as dark as the lake beside them. But, she obviously had never wanted to meet him, and if she needed an easy way out then she had it. Noah turned his back to her, closed his eyes, and placed his arms cross his chest. He hated this night, and losing her in his life... but he wanted her to be happy.
And Noah was unhappy for her.
