I did not come up with this. Credit goes to the brilliant Fox!
Quidditch matches will run for one week each. Each player will post once on their designated day. Each player is assigned to play against another player, and they will be assigned to post on a certain day of the week.
When it is your day to post, you will make a post about your ATTEMPT. Then I the referee will roll a dice and see if you succeed in your attempt or not. Then I, the referee will post what happens.
James Potter (saying the first team was Gryffindor) succeeds in blocking the ball, and Elsie Laren (saying the second team was Hufflepuff) fails in trying to score a goal.
When a team scores a goal, they gain ten points. When the week is over (when the chart has been played througn), whoever has the most points wins. If the snitch is caught, the team that caught it wins. If a player does not post on their turn, then their opponent wins that round. If both players do not post, no points are scored.
Whichever team wins gains 100 house points. If Gryffindor scored three goal and Hufflepuff scored two goals, then Gryffindor would gain an extra 60 points, and Hufflepuff would gain an extra 40 points, no matter which side won the game. Therefore each goal is worth 20 points.
A match post must be between 3 and 8 sentences, no more, no less, unless you want to start reading multiple 500 word posts. It must describe the attempt only and not influence the outcome in any way. Example of a good post:
Elsie flew towards the quaffle and scooped it up into her arms. She glanced around quickly and then zoomed towards the goalposts. She could almost feel another's breath on her back, but when she glanced around nothing was there. Elsie wound her arm backwards and threw the ball as hard as she could.
Example of a bad post:
Elsie flew towards the quaffle and scooped it up into her arms. She glanced around quickly and then zoomed towards the goalposts. She could almost feel another's breath on her back, but when she glanced around nothing was there. Elsie wound her arm backwards and threw the ball as hard as she could. She watched as James missed it by a mile and let out a yell of delight when it flew through the metal circle.
You can react to previous posts but no godmoding is allowed. For example you may react to a bludger heading your way but you cant successfully avoid it, and only if the Beater has described hitting one towards you.
Yes, I copy and pasted most of what Fox sent me in owl. She is very good at explaining it though! =]
