Just hanging upside down and looking at the ceiling. Like one's feet are up and making footprints on the unreachable. Like one is weightless, and limitless. Emma was (luckily) in pants when she decided to hang upside down in the Hufflepuff common room. Strange concept for some people. Like the hufflepuffs that decided to stare at her as they walked by. Why such a pretty face be so unattractive because of her actions? Emma didn't really care about that- if she had a thought, she'd exhibit it. Nothing else mattered at that moment- which was a huge problem when it came to homework. The poor girl was so overly ADD that homework was a very difficult thing to manage. Even moreso, the fact that her poor tutor actually decided to quit...she couldn't 'take it' anymore. Emma probably did need a tutor, but the tutor usually had no idea what Emma was even talking about most of the time.
Emma looked up at the ceiling and even though it seemed like there was no end to the fun, she decided she'd come back to it and draw a picture. It'd be a fun activity tomorrow instead of writing that essay for potions. She rolled over backwards and blinked a few times, loving the dizzy feeling she'd just gotten and grabbed her Divination book before skipping off towards the portrait. Where will she go? What would she do now? Emma had no idea, all she knew was she was going to have fun. Her eyes seemed to thirst for more interesting things, more ideas, more anything that she could just absorb. She could learn things, ... other than school things, and live. Also, Emma loved people- though they didn't always love her. She found that many liked to run away when they saw her usual skip down the hallway- not that she minded so much, it was just that her family always says, 'you need to make friends Emma'. Only Em couldn't tell them that they didn't want to be friends with her. Of course, there was always her friend Lacy, Em's opposite. They sort of balance each other out.
Emma waved to some people she didn't know and continued on her merry way. Slowly she moved to the first floor and looked around. There was a small cranny in the wall and Emma wanted to see if she'd fit. Quietly she climbed in, unfortunately only her feet didn't fit. So they probably looked to the world as if they'd come out of nowhere- which just made this all the more fun for Emma. She giggled to herself and looked around happily.

Cain had just been walking through the halls--a usual enough thing to do--when he'd stopped to admire the suits of armor. They'd always intrigued him. Since he'd been a younger version of himself first year; seven years, and he was still stopping in the corridors to examine them! When Peeves wasn't inhabiting them, they really were interesting to gaze at pieces of art. Useful for pranks, reflective enough that you could check yourself over before your next class without having to enter the loo and look in the mirror like a tool, and not to mention historical! The glow of the setting sun was just filtering down through the large bay windows nearby where the Hufflepuff stood, casting him its light and bouncing off the shiny metal of the the few suits of arms not shrouded in shadow. Very beautiful. The mystery of the talking paintings and armor weren't the only reason he so liked this particular hallway so much. It was so peaceful here! Now, Cain was not a meek or quiet needing person, to say even the least, but he appreciated a little peace and the lovely view from this part of the castle, every now and then. Had the suit of armor statues actually been used in battle, or were just there to guard and able to be charmed to life for the purpose of enforcing protection, as decorations? One definitely wouldn't say that Cain was studious. Quite the opposite, really; he was clever, and quick, but yet simultaneously not the sharpest tool in the box. Therefore, this he did not know. But he was interested. Perhaps he actually should flip through Hogwarts: A History, for the first time in years. Could such an act be beneficial? The seventh year really hated looking through books he'd used to have to study, and didn't if it could be helped. Yet, perhaps doing so would be worth it. He was really curious. Cain was just that curious type of guy.
