So here he was. Not really doing much--unless you counted juvenile delinquency as being just that. To Jakob, even if this was so (which was likely), it was no big deal. He was a Slytherin, Death Eater, and bad ass. So needless to say, misbehaviour was to be expected. Which was exactly what he was up to! Having addressed the letter he was going to send (by owl, obviously) with a Weasly Wizard Wheezes' Dragonbomb slipped in, set to go off when the letter was opened--which being a wizard had of course allowed him to do. All he'd needed was to charm it to have a timer. It wasn't really that. Especially not for a seventh year. Jake grinned, attaching the letter to the foot of the owl that was going to be delivering it and releasing it to fly away. Merlin, he was such a bastard! That Ravenclaw that pissed him off, Xenia, was in for one hell of a surprise... Jakob shook his head at his own evilness. Yeah, pretty much he was up to no good. ((I don't know if there is such a spell to make there be a timer, so let's just pretend there is =]))

Our song is the slamming screen door Sneaking out late tapping on your window kayla alison dedulasWhen were on the phone and you talk real low It was almost Christmas again. Kayla loved the castel. Though sometimes it became to overwhelming for her. She missed Ankel. Last christmas he was all hers. Now he was gone. Dead. Deceased. Whatever word you wanted to use. She layed in bed at night silently crying. It was hard to get over him really. They had been through so much. So much heartache. All the breakups they had been through with each other and other people. Finally though they decided to stay together. Last christmas had been when they decided on that. Now here it was a year since they made that promise and he was gone.
Walking through the castel Kayla headed up to the Owlery. She had to write to her mother. Her mother and brother worried about her constantly since the accident. Christopher never liked Ankel but she knew he hated to see her upset. The letter rested in her purse. As she walked she thought about Ankel. That brought tears to the young HufflePuffs eyes. Grabbing a tissue from her purse she wiped her eyes. She had to stop or her makeup would be messed up.
Reaching the Owlery she walked in. She saw a Slytherin boy in there. Sighing as Slytherins usually picked on HufflePuffs. Usually this hufflepuff. She went to her owl and reached into her purse for her letter. Tying the letter to the owls leg. As the owl soared off she watched it fly away. Looking out she looked at the sky. Smiling she said That is so beautiful.Cause its late and your momma don’t know Outfit: OMG! Jakob tensed a little when he heard somebody else enter the Owlery. The evidence of his most current offense had just flown the coop, but he still felt a little wary. That was something his parents had taught him before they'd died--always be on your guard, expect the unexpected. So Jakob did just that. He used to fail at that life lesson, but slowly it had begun to sunk in and he'd hardened his heart. Most of the younger students weren't usually up this time of night. This lead Jakob therefore to believe that the other person in the Owlery with him was around his age. Which pissed him off, a little, to be honest. It wasn't like he owned the owlery, true, but his presence here should drive most people away. Not that his presence was really discernable from anybody else's... Whatever! He got his wand out, keeping it at the ready. Not like he was really going to use it, but it was always handy via intimidation. Who knew if the sound notifying him that he was no longer alone had been accidental, and somebody really had been watching him the whole time, ready to tattle-tale? Better safe than sorry. So he held the wand aloft nonchalantly, but with a definite undertone of menace. "Who's there?" He questioned, glancing around. If he had been caught, somebody was going to cry. And it wasn't going to be him.

Our song is the slamming screen door Sneaking out late tapping on your window kayla alison dedulasWhen were on the phone and you talk real low Christmas time meant cold weather. The Owlery was freezing as their had to be space for the owls to come and go as they pleased. She wished she had worn a jacket. Hugging herself she walked around. Her boots hit the floor making loud noises in the quiet owlery. Suddenly she heard someone ask who was there. Kayla turned to the voice.
The owlery was big so someone could eaisly hide in there. Walking towards the voice Kayla wondered who that voice could belong to. Hello she said turning a corner. She stopped seeing a guy with a wand out. Great just what she needed. She was so not in the mood for this. Of course Kayla being her shy self usually shyed away from people. Which was what she wanted to do right now. She wanted to run away and never see that boy with the wand again. They kinda looked like Ankel. Which was bad for her. Great she thought. She looked at the boy.
You sho..should...put tha...that wand aw..away she stuttered. She didn't stutter because she was scared. No it was effin freezing and Kayla was freezing her ass off because she didn't wear a jacket. Next time remember a jacket idgit she thought to herself.Cause its late and your momma don’t know Outfit: OMG! A brunette beauty, Jakob could see beyond the darkness, was the one to have barged in. "And you should not tell me what to do," he responded huffily, but did as she told anyway. Which was unusual, but the seventh year decided not to put too much thought into it. Maybe he'd only done so because she looked miserable (he had good eyesight, even in the dark) and her voice had been shaking, but he wasn't sure. He wondered if she was frightened of him. Not that he cared or anything. Just a question he mentally asked himself, then discarded quickly. He leaned against the closest rafter, which conveniently was not covered in owl droppings, lucky him. Watching her curiously. "It's pretty late for a little Hufflepuff to be out and about when nasty Slytherins are out, you know," he commented dryly, lowering his tone to see if he could scare her. Jakob wasn't sure why he wasn't threatening the girl--if she had seen what he was up to, he was in shit ! But for some reason he didn't feel like he could do that, and he had no idea why that was. Probably because if he randomly started going off on her and she in fact hadn't seen anything, she would get suspicious. Also; she was just a pesky, harmless thing. No doubt she didn't mean any real harm.

Our song is the slamming screen door Sneaking out late tapping on your window kayla alison dedulasWhen were on the phone and you talk real low Looking at the boy as he spoke to her she sighed. Did he have to act so freakin hostile. She was just simplying saying that so he wouldn't hurt anyone or himself. She watched as the boy put his wand away though. So that was a good sign she thought. Safty reasons is all mister she said looking at him.
Silently praying that he wouldn't freakin try to attack her she took a step closer. His next statement pissed her off. As always though she never showed it. She simply kept her temper and said I am not afraid of some stupid slytherin who wants to pick on other people. Which was true. She wasn't scared of them. Just shy. Never scared of someone else.
She took another step closer to him just to prove she wans't scared of him. She would never be scared of Slytheirns. Ankel Skylar had changed that for her. Not all of them were bad as they tried to make it seem like. This boy probably was the same. If he wasn't it didn't hurt her feelings none. By the way I'm Kayla she said smiling once again showing the boy she wasn't scared of him.Cause its late and your mama don't know Words:207 Notes: it sux sorry Muse: it sux when you sick Lyrics: Our Song by Taylor Swift Credits: This Template was created by ValVal. Before speaking to him, Kayla Jakob soon found out, sighed. What on earth could she be complaining about? Jakob arched an eyebrow, shuffling his position to get a better look at her--well, he supposed he did come on rather strong, to be honest. But really, if she was already so tired of being in his presence, which was what it seemed, that was only her own fault ! Jakob had been here first, he wasn't going to be the one to leave. "Are you very safety conscious, then?" He asked, wondering aloud. If only to mock her. When she took a step toward him, his eyebrows only rose. This vaguely surprised Jakob. It had been a long time since a Hufflepuff had not scrambled away like they were being chased by the devil himself when they came across him. He wasn't used to the sudden change. And Jake couldn't say that he liked it, either. The seventh year couldn't help a chuckle at her next words, even if it was slightly bitter. "Boy, sounds like you've got me pegged," he said, indifferent. Or, at least, trying to be. "Stupid and I pick on people?" He questioned, eyes wide, like the information was new and startling. "Shit! You really know your stuff, don't ya?"The whole situation was sort of amusing. Jakob, misbehaving, and walked in on by none other than a Puff. One who, coincidentally, wasn't going away at the sight of him. He tried to deny it, but the guy was impressed--while still meek, Kayla seemed different than the others. When she told him her name and beamed at him, though, he put on his uncaring mask once more. "Yeah, 'cause I really care," he informed her, sarcasm dripping from his tone. Hey, that was usually what you got from conversation with a Slytherin!

Only reason Kayla could stand up a little better to Slytherins was because of Ankel Skylar. Her last boyfriend, former Slytherin Ankel Skylar. He always taught her how to not to fear the Slytherins. That a lot of them were babies, some others acted all big and bad but inside they were breaking. Yes I like being safe. Don’t you she said to the Slytherin boy. When she took a step towards him she could see his eyebrows rise. He was curious. He didn’t know why a mere HufflePuff wasn’t running. Truth Kayla was scared but Ankel told her not to show that fear to the Slytherins.
Kayla looked to the side. I wouldn’t use the word pegged she said. She wished she knew the boys name. That way she could talk to him proper. She looked back at him. I didn’t say you were stupid. Slytherins can be smart. They choose not to act upon their smarts sometimes. Sighing in frustration she turned around. This boy was impossible. He was infuriating. But yet there was something about him that made Kayla stay where she was. It was like she couldn’t leave. Like he was drawing her to him or something.
She didn’t turn around. She had to stop looking at him though there wasn’t much space between them. She bet if she turned around and reached out it wouldn’t take long to touch him. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes. What is your name she asked. Opening her eyes she turned back around to face him and this polarity that seemed to keep her here.

Jakob just looked at her. Her question had been a strange one to ask. Did he like being safe? Well, to enjoy it he'd actually have to be safe. So that was a dilemma, wasn't it? "Nope," he grinned wolfishly, an unfriendly one. What was she still doing here? "I'm much too dangerous for that, sweetheart."Kayla looked a little uncomfortable. Jakob found himself reprimanding himself internally--he may be a bit of a bastard, but the girl hadn't done anything to him. Why was he giving her such a hard time? But that didn't make him change his ways, for a better question then crossed his mind. Why shouldn't he give the little Puff a hard time? "What would you use, then?" He questioned, actually curious. It wasn't often he had such an in depth conversation with a Hufflepuff. Jakob shouldn't even still be here continuing this conversation, he knew, if abiding by what was pretty much the Slytherin 'code'. But whatever--no one had to find out, and he would make sure that pretty little Kayla kept her mouth shut. Whatever the cost. " "'Stereotyped'?" He asked again. Then shrugged, which he seemed to be doing a lot lately, or in the girl's presence, at least. It wasn't often Jakob didn't know what to say, so this was new and unfamiliar territory for him. He thought he was doing all right despite this fact, though. "Maybe our smarts and instincts are just different than yours." Then, "Jakob, if you must know," he said.

Kayla didn’t like the boy looking at her like he did. He was too hard of a stare. She rolled her eyes at his answer. That is not very bright and Im not your sweetheart she said. She kept her eyes on him though. She didn’t like that grin he gave her. Nor did she trust it at the moment. He had given her no reason to not trust him but he had also given her no reason to trust him either. So she was in a deadlock. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. That wasn’t a good place to be. Not when the people around here carried wands. Wands that could be used as weapons.
Standing really close to him Kayla found that it was getting a little harder to breathe. She didn’t like this. She couldn’t have this again. Not this slytherin boy. Not him. He didn’t even like her. He was totally trying to scare her. Which wasn’t working. She hate to hurt the guys feelings but that was the truth. I don’t have to answer that to you she said not liking how this was going. She was falling for this guy. Whether he was for her or not she was. She couldn’t let herself.
Closing her eyes she tried to imagine him gone. She sighed. It didn’t work. Yes stereotypical in fact she said. She took a step back as she couldn’t stay close to him much longer. Breathing was becoming impossible. She looked up and looked into the boys eyes as he spoke. First time she looked him in the eyes. Maybe she said. Jakob. His name was Jakob. She had to admit that was a nice name. Taking a breathe she said That is a nice name Jakob.

Jakob watched the Hufflepuff girl. Her name was Kayla, yes, he'd heard, but he was still caught on her being a Hufflepuff and yet not shying away from conversation with him. It was weird. She was looking a little weird, right now, too--physically Kayla was absolutely fine, but the expression currently on her face was odd. For the second or third time since he'd begun speaking with her, Jake wondered why something about her, her expression this time, was. I'm more for the dark side than the bright, he gave her, the words serious but his tone droll, as explanation. Not that he had reason to. The Slytherin was still uncertain about the reason he was still here talking to her, and the conclusion he came to was unnerving. Because it consisted of him not minding Kayla so very much; which wasn't characteristic! What right did she have to gain his favour? She interested him, a little. Much as Jake hated to admit it to himself. ”Wanna be?” He asked then, pasting on an all too familiar sly smile. To hide the internal argument he was having with himself, mostly, so that his struggle with logic and his own feelings wouldn't show on the outside. But also to see the girl's reaction. Hmm, rather feisty for a Puff. ”You certainly don't have to,” he agreed. A moment passed, Kayla still acting strangely (compared to what he'd come to know of her just ten or so minutes ago), taking a step back. But not before using the word, stereotypical, that he just had. This piqued Jakob's curiosity. An idea dawning, he took a step closer, until their noses were almost touching, so close that his breath fanned out across her face. Messing with her--or at least, doing his best to. ”Unless I made you, that is,” and he gave a low chuckle at his own audacity. Kayla closed her eyes and then opened them again, and when she did, they were making full on eye contact for the first time since this conversation had began. Jakob flinched, facade dropped for the moment. ”That is a nice name, Jakob.”At the words and feeling like being looked at by her was actually being X-rayed, all Jakob could do was roll is eyes. It took effort; unfortunately his usually constantly in check emotions and masks weren't very coordinated at the moment. Jake didn't ask himself why this was--he wasn't sure he would like the answer. He didn't say anything, just looked away, furious to feel his cheeks heating. There was a funny feeling in his stomach that he was not enjoying. ((OOC: It wouldn't be characteristic for Jakob to fall in love with her or even really like her in that way right away, but before our whole major plottage he will figure it out =P For a while he will deny it to himself, but will still be a bit nicer when they see each other, telling himself that it's weird but that they seemed to have sort of hit it off and he thinks of her as a sort of friend. Until our fantasmic drama begins ;]))

Kayla watched Jakob. She knew that you couldn’t take your eyes away from Slytherins too long. Some would mess with you in a heartbeat if you did. Well sometimes the dark side isn’t always a good side Jakob she said kind of low but still audible. Why had she gotten herself into this mess? How had she gotten herself into this mess? She couldn’t understand how or why she started talking to him in the first place. He had been rude and arrogant and still was to a point.
His next question froze her. Did she want to be his sweetheart? There was something about him that piqued her curiosity. Something that made him interesting and something that made him seem like no real threat, but at the same time that he was someone who shouldn’t be mess with. She couldn’t quite explain it. It was just something about him. Kayla had to admit that he did look good and his voice sounded like something she would love to listen to as she fell asleep. She knew though that meant that he was trouble though. All the right guys at first were trouble. Maybe I do, maybe I don’t she said stubbornly. Kayla wasn’t about to let him get the upper hand here.
She held her head high and stuck her tongue out. No I don’t she said to his statement. Though after she had taken a step back he had taken a step toward her. There noises were touching. This was too close for Kayla right now. Her heart started beating so fast she swear he could hear it. Try it and I will curse you she said trying to sound braver than she felt at the moment. She wasn’t scared. No. She was feeling something. Especially when she looked him in the eyes. Then she saw it. A flinch. Jakob flinched when she had looked him in the eyes. What was all that about?
She watched as he rolled his eyes. She wanted to smack him for that, but then she also wanted to leave her hand on that cheek. To touch it and to feel it. She also wanted his hand on her cheek. Caressing it. She shook her head. She had to get such ridiculous thoughts out of her head. This was definitely insane. Really really insane. Taking another deep breath she tried to steady her heartbeat. She had no idea if he had been serious about the how sweetheart thing or just joking around. Did she want him to be serious? She didn’t know. She also didn’t know if she wanted to know the answer to that question.

The words she said were true. If anyone, Jakob could vouch for that. But even despite its predatory danger, the risk one took in attempts to embrace it, the dark side had a strange seductive allure. It couldn't be tamed, that much was certain. Yet for some reason, even though Jake and countless others fully recognized its bittersweetness, spending a lifetime trying didn't always seem like such a bad idea. That was, until something happened and it dumped you on your ass. Even though the knowledge that her words had verity to them, though, this was what the Slytherin said: "And what would a Hufflepuff like you know about that?" For once, Jakob wasn't trying to be a jerk (though often also it came naturally). He was honestly curious. Kayla didn't give him any surefire answer to the question he'd so foolishly asked. Stubborn girl. Though it was probably better that way. What was he doing, getting mixed up with a Puff? Jake really didn't know what had gotten into him today. " Limited time offer," he said. The only thing he truly knew about the way he was behaving tonight was that he was just adoring messing with her. Her threat he just waved off. "People try to curse me all the time," he said. What made her think she'd be any more successful? Now Kayla was still looking at him in that way that he wasn't able to decipher. A mix between frustration, uncomfortableness, and desire? He had no idea, but decided it was a better one to getthehelloutofhere than that currently blossoming in his mind (which was to tuck those few stray strands tumbling into her eyes behind her ear), before his feelings began overwhelming him. Not that was really sure, either, what those were all about. More than they already had, anyway. So he did just that, clearing his throat uncomfortably in the process. "Well, ah," he shuffled a little, scratching the back of his neck with his wand. He had no reason to be feeling shy--this was just a girl, a nothing special girl, although she was quite pretty, and braver and more fierce than he had expected, Jakob would give her that. Actually, maybe she wasn't as nothing special as he had originally thought, though still just a sixth year, probably a Mudblood, in a minor ranked House, too. Yet he was, and he didn't understand it! Better to get out now before he began questioning himself and his motives even more, or any more damage could be done. "I gotta get outta here." Why was he explaining himself to her? Just leave, a voice inside his head shouted. Where was his usual self confident assurance and charm? "Maybe I'll see ya around, or back here in the owlery some other time." Though most likely not. A quick smirk; it was all he had time for before he made a mad dash for it, before he could lose any more of his self respect or start changing his morals. "Bye...Sweetheart."

Kayla turned her head to the side. Something in his eyes scared he just a bit. Just a tiny bit. She didn’t want to be standing close to him right now. He made her feel things she didn’t want to feel right now. Not with another Slytherin. So she had to keep not looking at him. Right. At his next statement she looked him in the eye and smiled. I don’t have to answer that one either she said.
Rolling her eyes she said I bet it is Jakob. She looked back at him. Why did he have to be so annoying. It was driving her crazy. It was a good kind of crazy and a bad kind of crazy. She didn’t understand it. It was kind of like that thing she had with Ankel before he was killed. She scoffed. Yeah but unlike them I will actually succeed in cursing you she said. She crossed her arms over her chest. He was really making her uncomfortable at the moment. Desire was there as well. Something she really didn’t want to admit at the moment.
As she watched him she didn’t understand. A minute ago he was this annoying arrogant boy and now…now he was looking uncomfortably. Shifting a bit. This was so not expected. She looked at him trying to figure it out. This was so confusing to her. She started at him and said Okay Jakob. She smiled. Alright Jakob see you around she said. This was so odd of him. She smiled even more as he said bye sweetheart. That did sound good to her ears. Bye Jacob she said in a weak voice. She left the owlery and went back to the dungeons and to the HufflePuff common room.
