YOUR FAITH WALKS ON BROKEN GLASS & . T H E . H A N G O V E R . D O E S N ' T . P A S S . nothing's ever built to last. you're in ruins it was fair to say that her little departure was of any importance anyone. she didn't mind though. this wasn't for attention or some fame. she just wanted to get out and see the world, and if she wanted anything to do with it, and if so, what she would do. she had remained a muggle completely after leaving her job at the leaky cauldron. her wand was rarely with her anymore, usually left by her bedside table or kicked across the carpet when she became frustrated from time to time. it was never used for anything. she had considered to just leave it behind in her rented apartment, knowing she'd never come back. it'd make things a hell of a lot easier. her small trip didn't have much meaning. it was mostly just to get away from the life she'd be leaving behind. she had disowned her entire family. her mother was her only ally, and doryen hadn't spent even a quarter of her life with the one person she truly loved. her father became a whole different person when doryen's mother died. he remarried to an old bag with no hair. doryen knew she should feel sorry for her, and she would if she weren't such a controlling bitch. she had greg brainwashed. doryen had no family left. she considered her friends family now, but where were they? living their own lives, happy and carefree. doryen envied them. especially kelsey leblanc. inlove and married, and with a baby bump for christ sake! doryen's best friend was growing up way too fast.
but she wanted to see kelsey. for once it was good timing, it was perfect timing. doryen had just come back from her small 'runaway' and nothing seemed to have changed since she'd left. coming home to see a room full of welcoming friends certianly made her much more at ease. she had chosen correctly in coming back, despite having made friends around the world now, she wouldn't trade the friends back home for the new ones. so after doryen settled back in, she'd heard about kelsey. her kids were born. thank fuck! doryen missed her firey red-headed nutter friend that was kelsey. so doryen made a quick exit, sneaking out the back door and jumping over the weak fence before legging it down the alley.
she had a feeling kelsey would want a day with a friend. maybe doryen wasn't that friend, but she was certianly going to offer. doryen had missed kelsey terribly. they'd been distant for a few months but kelsey's life was revolving around family. doryen and kelsey were fairly opposites in that category. the scruffy brunette wasn't as commited as kelsey, she envied her for that too. kelsey seemed to have it all, but doryen's admiration overpowered her jealousy. she stuffed her hands inside her tight jean pockets and slowed to a stroll, bringing out a pack of cigarettes and lighting up quickly before she arrived at kelsey's house. she drew long and harshly, trying to get as much of the drung into her system at once. it was the worst habit she had, but smoking was more of a necessity than a habit now. she couldn't see that she was addicted, but that was how most of them saw it. blind. doryen drew her last breath of the cigarette and flung it to the ground, exhaling the grey smoke from her mouth as she reared a corner and there it stood before her, leblanc mansion. a fucking mansion.
doryen sighed as she walked across to it. onlookers would probably think she was nuts, walking to the expensive-looking door in her converse and band t-shirt. she took her last steps up the driveway and knocked gingerly on the door, waiting anxiously for the door to open, and hopefully reveal kelsey's beaming face at doryen, her old friend.

Just recently, she was made a mother. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that she would be a mother at the age of seventeen. Even when she was giving birth to the twins, she didn't think that she was ready to be a mother. But now, here she was, taking care of her children and actually not doing that bad of a job at it. Sure she was lacking sleep and could barely think with all of the crying but it was all worth it, or so she was told. In the past week, she had only gotten around 12 hours of sleep. When one baby was sleeping, the other was crying. Sure, James was helping out a lot but he did have to work. So she would be left alone with the crying babies which left herself crying for help.
Today, Kelsey had enough. James was away for a quidditch match and she was left alone with two crying babies. Before she even gave birth to the twins, the red head had been falling behind in school and now that she was missing so many classes, she had a huge pile of work to catch up on. She needed to catch up but with James not here to look after the children she had no time. So, she packed up her things, took the babies, and headed to the LeBlanc Mansion. Her mom would be there to help her out and maybe Kelsey would finally get to sleep. She arrived to the mansion, a baby in each arm and a bag over her shoulder. Her mother was not surprised to see her, seeing as it was only a matter of time before she would go crying home.
The new mother sat in the nursery, trying to calm down a crying Mandee-Lynn. This one just loved to cry. She was always the hardest to get to sleep. The only way she would remotely calm down was when Kelsey would sing to her. Henry was another story. He loved to sleep, just like Kelsey. He could sleep through anything, again just like his mother. If only Mandee-Lynn were like that. She gently sang to the crying baby, rocking her back and forth in the rocking chair. Mandee-Lynn began to calm down slightly, much to Kelsey's delight.
The red head then heard a knock at the front door, causing her to get up and head to the entrance with the baby still in her arms. She was in no shape to be answering the door. Her hair was a mess, there was bags under her tired eyes and no colour in her face. Sighing, Kelsey extended her hand and opened the door to reveal a face she hadn't seen in awhile. There stood Doryen Goyle, Kelsey's best friend, and maybe one of her only friends. A smile lit up on her face as she looked at her friend. She couldn't believe that Doryen was here. She hadn't seen her in months!
"Doryen! What a pleasant surprise!," Kelsey exclaimed, a huge smile on her face as she continued to hold her small infant daughter. She missed hanging around with Doryen and the fun times they used to have. Things had gotten so busy for Kelsey with James and the babies, leaving the time between Doryen and Kelsey to be limited. "What are you doing here? Not that I'm complaining or anything," Kelsey chuckled, opening the door more and stepping aside. "Please, come in!" She finished, moving away from the door and making a right into the living room. She took a seat on the couch, right next to the baby monitor, which she turned on so she could hear if Henry started to cry. The smile never left her face. It was a smile that had been missing for a long time. A smile for her best friend.

YOUR FAITH WALKS ON BROKEN GLASS & . T H E . H A N G O V E R . D O E S N ' T . P A S S . nothing's ever built to last. you're in ruins There Kelsey LeBlanc stood, with dark bags under her eyes and her hair lying in a tangled mess, but even when she looked this worn out, she could still find the will to light up her face and smile, greeting to Doryen. The ex-Slytherin's attention was directed to the thing in Kelsey's arms. One of the three babies she'd given birth too. Had Kelsey produced angels? It certianly looked like it. This baby she had was gorgeous, but even the most beautiful things had their consequences, and Doryen wasn't so attatched that she wanted a baby of her own, no siree.
"Doryen! What a pleasant surprise!,"
Kelsey's exclamation was slightly alarming to Doryen. They both looked a little worn out around the eyes. Doryen seemed to have permanent dark lines around her eyes, and thanks to that, she would have people worrying about her, trying to persuade her to get some sleep, but she was! Atleast seven hours a day, excluding those late boozing nights that were gradually becoming more frequent. Doryen responded to Kelsey with a wide and warm smile, her eyes darting from her to her baby, the smile fading each time her eyes left Kelsey's face. Doryen knew that things were never going to be the same anymore. With a child came so much responsibility, so much so that it was likely that Kelsey wasn't going to get any time away from her kids. And as much as she disliked herself for it, Doryen wasn't all that happy with Kelsey's new husband for doing this. Doryen had always held a grudge with James. It was all because of that one night that caused so much drama. Doryen likes to say she's put it behind her, but she can't help it. Doryen just won't ever warm up to James Potter.
"What are you doing here? Not that I'm complaining or anything,"
Doryen had taken her hands out of her pockets and had risen one, exposing her palm. "Slow down, Kels." She said with a slightly croaky and low tone, but she was smiling again. Doryen just couldn't fathom where Kelsey got all that energy and happiness from, but she gad a good guess, referring back to Doryen's certian dislike to Kelsey's husband. But Doryen would never express her feelings infront of Kelsey, she would joke about James with her, but Kelsey could never know that Doryen actually meant what she was saying. Kelsey opened the door more to show the hallway, and Doryen stepped inside and shut the door, a little more fiercly that she'd intended. She froze on the spot and mouthed the word 'Sorry' to Kelsey before following her into the living room, making sure not to make another sound, she had no idea who else was in here. Doryen wasn't at all friendly with the rest of the LeBlancs, not even Robert who was the Head of Hogwarts. Doryen wished sincerely that he wasn't home. He'd ask why she left his school, to which she had no decent answer. Doryen sat a little away from Kelsey, partly because she wanted to see Kelsey better, and also because she didn't want to interfere with her kids. Doryen cleared her throat and began, "So I hear you're a mom now.." she grinned, attempting to look as dumb as ever. She enjoyed to play it stupid with Kelsey, because it was Kelsey alone who knew Doryen's quirky jokes. "Uh, well what's this one's name?" She asked, not entirely interested, but trying to make conversation. Her body language was a little tight and awkwurd, she had chosen to look to the other wall when she wasn't speaking to Kelsey. Was she nervous? Must be, but Doryen couldn't understand why. It was her best and real friend sitting there, not a stranger!
