Surveying herself in the mirror Analeigh Scofield couldn't help the small smile that teased at her glossed lip, genuinely pleased with the image that was reflected back at her. Usually Analeigh didn't bother primping and spending much time on her appearance, but the annual holiday ball did call for a little glamor and Ana had taken the rare opportunity to doll herself up. A short dress of light satin hugged close to her torso, emphasizing her waist as the skirt of the fabric drifted down, away from her body. The hemline paused a few inches before her knees, showing much more skin then Ana was used too. Though the short style of the dress raised of spike of self-consciousness in her the young woman loved the rich colour and fabric of the dress too much to consider another. A heavy multi-strand necklace dropped from her neck, the only jewelry she had allowed herself. She wore a simple pair of strapped heels and carried a small silver clutch but Ana had tried to keep her outfit from being too showy. Her hair had been teased loosely, dark curls falling in waves over her bare shoulders, and down her back, with her makeup done so simplistically it looked like she was wearing none at all, only a fresh dewy face, with bright blue eyes and pink stained lips. Another face appeared in the mirror and Analeigh smiled at the sight of her twin brother, who quickly murmured a compliment and something about being late before laying his hand on her shoulder and apperating the two to the event.
As the pair walked into the ballroom Analeigh could only appreciate the wand work and charms that went into making the room look as ethereal as it did. It literally sparkled, every reflective surface polished to it's brightest, tiny fairies that flitted around the room casting an impressive lighting display as tall, white Christmas tree were scattered about the room, trimmed in silver and pale blues. The dance floor was already crowed with people, women lavished in rich silks and satin and tulle as their partners spun them around effortlessly. It was gorgeous and Analeigh turned to say something to Micheal, about to comment on a particular dress that had caught her eye but her twin wasn't in her line of sight any longer.
Balling her tiny hands into fists Analeigh glared at the retreating back of her brother, watching him wrap his arms around a leggy blonde, tugging her after him into the wash of dancing people until Ana lost sight of him. He was going to get a very loud and vocal piece of her mind once they were back home, the traitorous bastard. Sighing in annoyance Analeigh stared out at the dance floor, seriously contemplating leaving. Last year had been a completely identical situation, Ana being the perfect wallflower while everyone else around her seemed to have a merry time. The witch hadn't even been planning on coming this year, but Micheal had pleaded with her until she agreed to accompany him. He was claimed that he didn't want to deal with anyone bugging him, and taking his sister was a date would ensure that any old flames would leave him well enough alone but his aversion to girls hadn't lasted long. In fact, it had lasted about 23 minutes, the amount of time it had taken Yvette to hone in on her twin and then Micheal was gone. Ana vaguely remembered Yvette from her few school years at Beauxbatons, and considering the blonde witch was the poster child of fantastic genetics it didn't surprise her that Micheal has been so distracted by his old ex. No, it didn't surprise her, but it sure pissed her off. Analeigh did not do well at these sort of things, social situations sending her into a mild state of panic everytime. Ana had thought she would be okay, with Micheal to save her from any social awkwardness but now by her lonesome Ana was beginning to fret.
