It has been months since Dominique has step foot into Hogsmeade and of course she came back at the worst time. For the past few months, well 4 months ago, Dom took her son and left the country. She had no idea where she was going and she really didn’t care. She just knew she had to leave and didn’t even think about what people would think or her or do. She left a boyfriend, Blaze Dolohov and an angry ex fiancé behind. Dominique didn’t even tell her own family she was leaving, which she knew she would get hell for. Her son was only 3 months at the time and didn’t know what was going on. Yet didn’t seem to mind any of the traveling that they did very quickly. She didn’t even have any idea where to go when she left she just knew she had to get away and find a place to stay as soon as possible. It had to be far away and a place that Dominique could be safe with her son, Aiden Weasley.
The first place they stopped was Brazil. Dominique didn’t know why she decided South America but it was nice hot weather and somehow she managed to pick of the language quickly. She did odd jobs, nothing out of the ordinary. She cleaned houses, cooked at restaurants or was a waitress. Dominique didn’t dare drink or go with any guys. Even though there were plenty of men who asked her on dates she didn’t agree to any. Her whole life was centered on Aiden and how she could provide for him. Every two weeks she packed up and moved somewhere else. Eventually she reached the Caribbean and even spent some time in Mexico. She had an anklet now on her left ankle from one of the Virgin Islands. It was on some dark, string with shells wrapped into it. Dom hasn’t taken it off since she put it on and didn’t plan on it. It reminded her of the time she spent with her son in the sunshine, where she found out the sun didn’t bother him at all.
Being home of course she came in the middle of winter. Where of course she would stick out like a sore thumb. She has a very dark tan now from being in the sun for months. Even her son who was naturally pale managed to get some color, which wasn’t red. The other reason she stuck out was that people weren’t used to seeing her. She got a job as the school nurse and then disappeared. People worried about her and she should have thought it threw before she left. Oh well, she thought now as she kicked some snow on with the warm boots she was wearing. Dominique definitely wasn’t used to all this clothing. Boots, mittens, jackets and a hat. She spent the past few months in shorts and a bikini top. Showing off to all the guys what they couldn’t have. She wouldn’t let any of them have her because she knew she could never love anyone of them. Her heart belonged to one guy and she ruined that relationship. If she had to remain a single mom the rest of her life she now thought of that was her punishment.
Thoughts like that haven’t bothered her in a while. Dom tried keeping herself busy and to occupy her mind as much as possible. She didn’t want him in her mind cause it just caused heartache. Yet it always came back cause when she looked at her son she saw him. He was even half vampire. It was funny in South America they thought they had cures for everything. Even people who were vampires. Dominique tried everything. Nothing worked. She did learn many other ways to heal people though. It was absolutely fascinating to learn another’s culture.
First thing Dominique did when she came back here was set up her office at school, which looked pretty much like a nursery. That was the only place she could afford since it was free. Aiden ruled her office and room at Hogwarts and right now he was being babysat by a sixth year hufflepuff girl. Dom didn’t warn her about Aiden being part vampire since being the mother she was; she trained him not to bite random people. Dominique didn’t even like him drinking blood. She tried to break him of that habit as much as possible but it was exactly something she could get him to stop.
Dominique stopped in front of the Three Broomsticks. She looked up at the sign and it was once a place with many good memories for her from Hogwarts but over the last year was filled with nothing but bad thoughts. Jack owned the place and she had fights with people she care about in there. Dom pulled her jacket tighter around herself, blaming it on the cold, but it was one of the nicer days of the month and there wasn’t a breeze.
