--Time for you to go out to the places you will be from-- Michael made his way down to the Kitchens hungrily, tickling the pear for entrance as he arrived. He'd been late for dinner having attempted to squeeze in a smoke break beforehand. That had been a mistake! Now his stomach was grumbling, since after having returned, Peeves had delayed him even more, and by the time he had gotten to the Great Hall, dinner was two minutes from being over. He'd only been able to grab a couple of chicken wings before the food had entirely disappeared. But that was, Mike supposed, what one got when they gave in to the demands of the nicotine monkey on their back rather than those of their stomach. Taking a seat, he smiled politely at one of the house elves that approached him and asked him what he would like. Being hungry made him a little grumpy, but he maintained a cheerful outward demeanor nonetheless. There was no point in taking out his frustration on one of the poor little creatures, especially one who was just trying to help his circumstances. Anyway, soon he would have food before him to scarf down in no time ! Yum, he thought to himself. "Whatever you've got works," he told the little guy. For Michael was generally not picky. He just wanted something to throw down his gullet and swallow. The quicker the better," he added on, flashing a bright smile. It always payed off to treat the help kindly--now he would probably receive something quick but simultaneously delicious, whereas a Slytherin or someone less friendly would probably have been given a piece of bread or an apple. Since those things were definitely prepared and quick to deliver.

Madelyn walked along the empty corridors of the dungeons after dinner. She had forgotten one of her books in the Potions room and had retrieved it. Her mind fluttered between her friends, school, and her current boyfriend Brendan. Things were going great between them, it was practically the perfect relationship. Maddy couldn’t help but think about all of her past boyfriends though; all of the hearts that have been broken.
Madelyn was passing the open doors to the kitchen on her way back up to the Gryffindor common room. She looked through the doors as she passed. A familiar face caught her eye. Mike. Maddy smiled and walked into the kitchens. It had been a while since they had seen each other and a while since they broke up. She smiled at one of the kitchen elves as she passed it. There was no reason to be mean to those poor creatures, all they did was work all day. She thought that the little laborers deserved some respect and kindness every once in a while.
“Hey there stranger,” Madelyn said with a smile. He looked up, her ocean eyes meeting his. “I haven’t seen you in quite a while.” The break up had only temporarily altered their friendship. They were now pretty close friends. Maddy was grateful that Michael wasn’t one of those crazy ex-boyfriends, because she had enough of those. Mike, like Brendan, had always found a way to make her smile and laugh.
Madelyn sat down on the counter top hoping that the kitchen elves didn’t mind. She put her book down next to her. Between everything happening this year, Maddy had been really busy. She hadn’t found the time to go search for him. Out of all of her exes, Mike was one of the nicest.

--Time for you to go out to the places you will be from-- Hearing a noise and then a familiar voice greeting him, Michael turned his head in time to see one of his favourite people walk in to the kitchen. He smiled full fledgedly--he'd always had a special place in his heart for Madelyn, Maddy, as she liked to be called. And that hadn't changed after their break up. The Ravenclaw found that when he thought back he couldn't really even remember the reason for the split between them, just that it hadn't been a dramatic big deal. Which was good, and hadn't damaged their relationship hardly one little bit. "Well well," he responded, smirking brightly. "Hello yourself. Will you be joining me for some snacks in your belly?" He asked hopefully. Though the answer was obvious. Why else would she be here? "Or are you just here to see mee?" This with a wink, because the two of them loved kidding with each other. He wasn't flirting with her; that had long ago stopped. But Mike had a feeling that no longer what, they would always maintain their jokingness together. Oh, and he was a cocky bastard, that as well! One of the elves returned with a bowl of chocolate pudding and set it down in front of Michael, and he grinned, digging in, shooting a thanks to the little worker. "Mmm," he flaunted, settling comfortably in his chair. "Did you want some? He asked, a wicked gleam in his eyes. "It's a lot of pudding, but you know, I'm really hungry...Looks like you're going to have to ask real nice."

“Oh, I am just here to see you, love,” she said jokingly as she winked back. Michael was one of those exboyfriends that Madelyn could joke around with. She sat on the counter, placing her book down beside her. She loved to flirt with Mike because he was funny and knew that she was just kidding. If she had said some of the things she said to him to other guys, they would have definitely gotten the wrong idea.
An elf returned with Michael’s food, chocolate pudding. He flaunted it and asked Madelyn if she wanted any. Maddy tried to reach out to read his mind and see what he wanted her to say. She loved surprising people like that now that she had her ability almost under control. She did that to Brendan and Rose all of the time. Madelyn wondered what Mike meant by ‘ask real nice.’
Madelyn didn’t want any pudding but she did like to joke around with her ex. It amused the girl. She did feel a tad bit guilty because of Brendan, but both her and her boyfriend knew that Maddy would never cheat on him or love him less. Mike was just a friend and could never steal her from Brendan; she was sure of it. Maddy looked up at Michael, her brilliant ocean eyes were deep and captivating. She flipped some of her hair back over her shoulder and smiled at him. Madelyn rolled her eyes. What does he want from me? She thought. “You should know by now that I don’t beg for things,” Maddy said with a smirk.

--Time for you to go out to the places you will be from-- Michael shook his head dramatically, chortling. ”Pshhh, yeah right, Maddyyy,” he stretched out her name. ”Your stomach was grumbling, don't deny it! There's no way you could have expected me to be here...” He grinned, leaning back in his chair to smirk up at her. ”...Because I'm a ninja, and you, I'm sorry to say, my dear, are not quite up to speed.”His food having arrived, the Ravenclaw patted the household creature on the back kindly before stirring it with the spoon that had come with it. Chocolate pudding. Like heaven in a bowl. After enjoying a few bites, Mike glanced up at Madelyn. She had been being quiet for a little while, now. She was watching him carefully, like she was wondering what he was thinking, and to this he raised his eyebrows. ”What?” He asked, confused but amused, as well. ”Do I have pudding on my face? If there is, tell me! That would be an awful waste of good pudding.”Suddenly Maddy smiled brightly and flipped her dark hair over her shoulder. Michael looked up again. It had been what seemed like a long time since they'd broken up, and the seventh year didn't like her in that way anymore. But he would never regret having gone out with her. After all, the Gryffindor was quite a pretty thing, and fun to be around to boot. Mike was sure they would always be able to have a blast together. At her next words, he full out laughed. “Ahah, yeah, you're right,” he smiled widely. ”That I do know, Princess. All you have to do is bat your eyes twice, and whatever you want is yours.” Sticking his tongue out at her to let her know this was all in good fun. Maddy actually could be quite persuasive, though. It was a good thing for others that she didn't usually use her looks and charms to her advantage.
