As the first light came up over hills it flickered through the window. The loud ratteling would shake the dead out of a deep slumber. As blue eyes stared out at what seamed like a beautiful morning, they showed no signs of being tired. The soft rocking of the train as the morning breeze made a little soothing feeling over the settled in crowd just opening there eyes. It was rather surprising how many people shuffled from the platform in brittan to hogsmeade, but then again the christmas season was apun them, and most shopped the best in hogsmeade. Snow fell softly around the train like a feather pillow being run over as the train brakes screamed to attention and then it slowed down rather fast. Once at a stop sleepy passangers slowly led off the train and onto the hogsmeade platform then bustleing to the crisp winter streets of the still asleep town.
One set of soft clicks led away from the pack at the platform and down the path towards the castle. Long legs led away from off white pattent high heels, and met with a short house elf who opened the magical barrier. The black whisps flowed around the girls head dancing in the wind. As her glowing blue eyes traced the dark grounds leading up to the giant wooden doors, once again soft clicks joined her jurney as she departed her silent small companion and started up the stairs. It was quiet in the castle, since most had not woken as the soft light drifted through the windows in the halls. Soft hummings started at a swift swish of her skirt around the corner onto the fourth floor. Slowly with a flick of the wrist the invisible doors relenquished the soft smell of parchment and binding glue. The Library, Cassie was home. The first one she had in a long time.
As she looked down each isle, seeing all the soldiers standing straight. Taking count on all the slips and making her list of what was due during the day. At work she was at peace, and those who didn't know her didn't know important a tight neat ship was. Since she had been gone for the past few days her student helpers hadn't kept up everything, which if she didn't enjoy work she would probably be pretty ticked off about. But with a pep in her step she bustled around fixing up the place as spick as it could be leaving no book untouched as she greeted each one softly, making sure each one was in its proper home. Cass had only been the librarian at hogwarts for the past year but from the first day she knew she belonged in the large shelves with her best friends. When she had been at beauxbatons she used to spend all her days in the library or in the gardens and in her office she combined the both.
As she walked through the door the christmas lights around her office sending rainbow specs all over the green vines that created her desk and climed half way up the walls. For the season they adorned flowers that looked like giant snow flakes and in the corner was a full adorned christmas tree. Which she opened her parcel bag and brightly colored gifts fell around the tree, and made the scene mystic. It was her favorite place currently, and she planned on staying for awhile. In the mean time it was her only home, since she didn't want to crawl to bellatrix and tell her of what had occured and she hadn't spoken to her brother since she had snuck out of his mansion in the middle of the night to think and took her suit case with her. It had been a good and bad decision, she couldn't turn her back on the mother she had just gotten back but it hurt her dearly to aviod her brother in the halls. In the castle walls she went as Cassandra Claire and to the students she was Ms. Claire the insane librarian.
According to the headmaster by the demands of higher powers, Cass and Jack only knew each other through assocation and that would be all. So under orders she took every step 20 steps before she actually took it to make sure she wouldn't run into him, but it was killing her insides. All she had left was her books, and she would take very good care of since she wouldn't let them slip out of her fingers like everything else. As the first few struggled through the doors for a full day of saturday studying before the rustle bustle began of the holiday break. As she finished up her last bunch of books to be placed where they belonged she watched other being picked up and placed on tables. Like a mother over her children she winced as they fell off tables and were pressed open the bindings being bent. She sat over at the front desk and growled to herself, trying to keep in good mood, since it was such a beautiful white december day.

Hunter walked through the snow towards Hogwarts. Generally he wouldn't be there but there wasn't much to do at the ministy in the accidents and catastrophies department, so he figured he would go to the library back at Hogwarts. It was the one place where he felt... natural. He was still getting used to the whole Deatheater thing. All his life he had been an insecure nerd. Now, to be a suave, charming, Deatheater... well, it was definitely new to him. So sometimes he went back to the library, just to read. True, he felt the most comfortable on a computer, either fixing it or coding on it, they didn't have those in the wizarding world, so he made due with just reading books. He also didn't really care if someone saw him because reading wasn't all that nerdy. Plus no adult's much went into the library anyway, and what did he care if some kid saw him reading for the hell of it.
Hunter's steps were silent until he entered through the giant, ornate doors of Hogwarts. After that, his stones echoed eerily from the stone floor off of the stone walls. It was early morning -he wanted to beat the traffic of students- so no one was around, which made the sound all the more creepy. He made his way up to the third floor and opened up the invisible door. He was a little surprised at himself that he still remembered where it was. Well, it wasn't really all that surprising considering he had spent most of his childhood years in there. He stood in the doorway for a moment and took in the smell of old books and yellowing papers. It smelled oddly comforting to him, like he belonged. Which wasn't something he had felt in a while, and that felt good.
Running two fingers along the spines of the books, Hunter was simply enjoying the texture of them. He stopped in the Muggle section, and this time when he walked along these shelves he paid more attention to the titles. Finally he saw one that caught his eye, Muggle's and Their "Electronics". He laughed quietly at the quotation marks around electronics. It was still odd to him how wizards didn't use any of the things that muggles use. He found them extremely covenient. In fact, he still used his watch, and, though he wouldn't tell anyone, a phone. He had made a good friend back in the muggle world and still talked to him from time to time. He pulled it off of he shelf and went over to one of the tables that weren't taken by a student and sat down. He opened it up to the part about computer's. He had to restrain himself from laughing out loud. The picture in the book of the computer they had was so old, it was a dinasour compared to the one's there was now. He wouldn't surprised if that computer still only used DOS. The computer's now a day's were much slimmer and slicker looking. They were smaller and more compact, and it didn't look nearly so bulky. It was comcial to see the difference.
words; 530 comments; since they're both deatheaters, that would mean they know eachother yeah?

Slowly the string passed through new holes in thick parchment, gliding gently not to tear out of its neat pattern. Running fingers over each page, she removed stains of coffee and breakfasts past. Students being so careless ruined the books, and it was Cass's job to make them new again. Slowly she pressed the mesh to the back bone of the book sealing the end once again. Most thought the process boring, and time consuming which why most of the newer books were done by magic and were not as stable, not the same. Swiftly she added the cover, clamping it down to keep it together, She added it to the pile of freshly re-binded books. Quietly she looked around the room, as she heard giggles from a table. Quickly she rose and walked cat like over to her mice, the troublemakers. A red headed girl was sitting side ways over her chair and had her feet drapped over and young mans lap as he was trying to explain something to her. "Ms. Jordan would you mind placing your feet on the ground and keep your none sense to your self. Others our actually studying." Cass said softly, but firm.
With a roll of eyes, the young Jordan placed her feet on the ground and turned her attention back to her partner who sat still as if he was afraid to be caught inbetween. Cass opened her mouth once more but decided against it, the young girl seamed a little harmless in a sense. So with a click of her heals she turned and walked down an isle with another stack of books she had re-binded awhile ago. Softly placing them on the shelve in there empty spaces and guiding them into where they belonged. As she was placing 'herbs to ponder.' a book on herbs that helped your thoughts, back into its proper place. A silent alarm went off in her head, some one who wasn't part of the castle had entered her domain. Quietly she edged around the corner looking for the intruder, as he walked right by where shee stood and into the muggle section. It was only Hunter once more, the ministy must be slow moving lately because he had been in the school library a couple times this month. She had gotten used to him coming and going as he pleased, if it wasn't that she didn't know better she'd think it was her mother sending him to look up on her now and then.
Hunter was not only a death eater, but like Cass he was placed in a place so Bellatrix could have eyes and ears every where. But his task was the ministry in the department of catastrophies. From what Cass could see he was a suave man with one eye on muggle technology from the types of books he hovered over alone at corner tables. There was something about him that drew curiosity, one Cass refused to endulge before. But today she had something up her sleave, and she disapeared into the stacks and into her office, picking up a small green parcel she straightened her soft silky shirt and walked back out as quickly as she had entered, when she found him this time he was looking at a picture of a what looked like a tele with a funny recievre. Slowly she placed the parcel next to him and grinned ear to ear standing oposit of him. She had figured he'd be back before the christmas break so while shopping she had stopped into a muggle 'electronic' store and had used a picture in a book he had looked at before and had purchased what the man called a 'hard drive'.
Though Cass knew nothing about technology that she couldn't read about, Hunter seamed to have a passion for it. So since she got a gift for everyone she figured it was her best shot at pleasing him. Because of how she had felt since before school had begun she had avioded conversation with everyone. So hopefully this would strike up some kind of a interaction that didn't involve silence. But on top of it, she wanted to know more about it, her magical inventions didn't look like this and she couldn't make sense of it either. No ideas of what their books were talking about, computers and portable telephones were definitely different. Curiosity jumped at her from each corner of he brain, and hopefully he would explain. "what kind of tele is that?" Cass asked pointing at the picture in the book, as leaned on the chair infront of her, looking rather curious.

Hunter looked up from the pictures of the decrepit old computers and glanced around the room. Even in the few short minutes he had been sitting there, the library had gotten exceptionally more busy. He was surprised so many kids would come here. Sure, he did, but that was because he didn't really have many friends to hang out with. There was Bryce, and Bryce was always off talking to girls. For the life of him, Hunter couldn't figure out why Bryce had been friends with him. As he continued that though, he reminded himself that Bryce wasn't really a friend at all. The one real girlfriend he had, Bryce took after he got Hunter kicked out of his Astronomy class for stolen tests that Hunter didn't even steal. But, he didn't want to think about grudges. He was in the library, reading up on something he loved, even though all-be-it very lacking on information.
So with that said, Hunter stuck his nose back in the book and turned the pages slowly, skimming through what they had to say. He knew everything anyway, but it was fun to see how the wizards explained the things that existed in the muggle world because they never got it quite right. He was reading the definition of what DOS is when he saw something placed next to his arm on the table. He looked up to see Cassie standing next to him, grinning widely. He smiled at her, but it was slightly. Hey Cassie, he said quietly, considering they were in the library. It was more habit than actual necessity. He looked back down to the rectangular shaped parcel. "What's this?" He picked it up and slowly opened it up. Inside was a fairly new hard drive, which meant probably about 300 gigs of RAM. It was easy to say, that Hunter was very excited, showing his true nerd colors. He worked to keep his voice low. "Wow, thanks Cass!" He turned the hard drive over and over in his hands looking at it. He wanted to hug her, but he didn't know her all that well, and didn't want to make her uncomfortable. It was a good thing that he knew how to fix and put together computers, or else he would never have known how to get it inside his laptop. Then he realized he hadn't gotten anything for her in return. He looked up, face apologetic. "I'm sorry... I didn't get anything for you.. Hey! There's still some time before Christmas. What do you want?" he asked, enthused. He didn't want her to give him something that he really liked, without her getting something in return. He would feel bad. comments; sorry for the late reply! i've been really busy with my site, lol.

"Wow, thanks Cass!"
The soft smile brightened Cass's face as hunter turned over the hard drive, it was exciting to see him light up the way he did. She was quite glad that she had picked the right gift for him, she was getting better, before she would just get people socks and gloves until she realized it would be more fun to get some thing that they enjoyed instead. It was neat to see how people reacted to most of her gifts. "I'm sorry... I didn't get anything for you.. Hey! There's still some time before Christmas. What do you want?" she looked quizzical at him for a couple moments, as if confused. "Hunter, you don't have to get me anything. I just like getting things for people that they'd enjoy, the best part of the season I say."
Cass pulled out the chair across from him and sat down politely. Looking around the room quietly as she did so keeping an eye on her magnificent books. She bit her lip just slightly as she counted the last student in the hall. "Though I am quite curious on what it does, what any of this does. I mean from what I get these books are quite old and inaccurate. From what the sales man said at the store, they don't sell the type I was pointing out in the book anymore." she said softly looking down at the book and back up at hunter, very intently waiting for a reply. Her bright blue eyes glowed slightly, still as moons in their skies.
The sales man had basically laughed at her when she pulled out the picture, called it a dinosaur. Said they hadn't sold the pictured hard drive in over 15 years, she held her tongue to correct the man that dinosaurs were much farther back then that and instead just asked what would be sufficient for some one interested in a new hard drive. Finally the man handed her the shiny small square box and she thought it was very interesting, but had thought it wise not to play with it. Even though Cass prided herself on being an inventor of sorts she always had magic on her side, and since she didn't know what it did she couldn't fix it with magic if she broke it. Muggle technology was fairly new to her, the so called tube which zoomed in the undergrounds of London still amazed her that it was not built with magic.
