It was a sunny day outside, and there was time to go out and enjoy the weather. Brendan figured out that he wanted to check out what was happening to down at the Quidditch Corner today, so he went down there. He knew that his friend Madelyn had practice here today,so he could just watch her having practice to make the time pass by too. He arrived to the Quidditch Corner and took a seat to watch. It seemed like fun to be on the team,it was just that Brendan didn`t really bothered to wanna be a part of it. He loved the game,just not enough to be a part of it.
He managed to spot Madelyn out there. She was the keeper and she was pretty good at it he thought. It was fun to watch her out there. Madelyn was a good friend of Brendan. He liked spending time with her too. Now he just had to wait till the practice was over so he could talk and maybe hang out with her as well. Brendan sighed and watched them some more.
As the practice were over now,Brendan waited till Madelyn was down on the ground before he walked over to her. He smiled and got to his feet and started to walk towards her. " Hey Madelyn" he said and smiled and got closer to her. " Great practice you had..you are really good out there" he said and flashed her a new smile.

Madelyn tipped the quaffle over the goal post. Practice had been in session for a while, seeing as Rose had to catch twenty-four snitches before it could end. Maddy pulled her broomstick up to avoid a bludger that was about to crash into her. Word had got around that Rose had pocketed the last snitch and that practice was finally over.
Madelyn glided down to the grass of the Quidditch pitch and hopped off of her broom. That was a pretty successful first practice, she thought. A familiar figure approached her. Brendan. “Hey Madelyn,” he said smiling, “great practice you had…you are really good out there.” Brendan was one of Maddy’s good friends. They spent a lot of time together. “Thanks,” she replied, “I think it went pretty well considering it was my first real Quidditch practice.” This was her first year playing Quidditch for Hogwarts and she happened to be pretty good at it. “Why aren’t you playing this year?” she asked Brendan. He was definitely well built for the sport and would make a great chaser. She felt comfortable talking to him, they had been friends for a long time.
She picked up her broomstick and walked off the pitch with Brendan. It was a really nice day outside. The two of them walked around the grounds. Madelyn need to walk off some of the hits she took. She was hit many times with bludgers and quaffles. She knew she would have a pretty nasty looking bruise on her knee from Albus. “Have you seen my cousin around yet? She’s in Slytherin,” she asked with a smile. “She looks nothing like me.” Madelyn added, she really didn’t know what to talk about. Brendan's company was unexpected, but she enjoyed every second of it.

Brendan smiled at Madelyn. He thought it was pretty awesome watching her out there. " Yeah..you`re a natural at this game" Brendan said and smiled more brighter to his friend. She asked him why he didn`t play this year. " Ahh i just don`t feel like playing the game you know..i like to watch more " he said and looked at her and smiled softly at her. Madelyn was one of Brendan`s best friends and he felt comfortable around her and he knew that they could talk about everything.
Brendan took off with Madelyn. "You okey..you didn`t get hurt out there did you ?" he asked her and looked at Madelyn. It seemed like she was a little beaten by the bludgers and quaffles. "Ahh no i don`t think i`ve seen your cousin around yet.." he said softly and looked at her. Brendan hadn`t seen Madelyn all summer so of course he`d missed her a lot. " Are you ready for this year ?"he asked and had to talk about something with her. He was sure that they would figure out something to talk about. The sun was still shining and it got warmer outside. He took off his shirt and still kept the wife beater on.

“You okay…you didn’t get hurt out there did you?” Brendan asked Madelyn. “Nah, I’m fine. I can walk it off,” she replied. Brendan had said that he hadn’t seen Kat around yet, which was quite unusual. She is the only non-Weasley with red hair. Her hair was brighter than the Weasley’s, fire-truck red.
“Are you ready for this year?” he asked as he took off his shirt. “I am so ready for this year!” she said, “I didn’t miss any sign-ups for my classes and I actually signed up for the quidditch team!” It was getting really hot outside. She undid the clasps on her scarlet robe revealing a red tank top. “I’m so sad that this is our last year. I mean, it’s been seven years. This is my second home and I don’t really want to leave,” she said. The fact that she was leaving after this semester was really sad. She had made so many friends here that she would miss dearly, especially Rose and Brendan. But since they were allowed to use magic, apparating could be their way of transportation.
“What about you?” she asked. She had just spent a lot of time revealing her feelings to her friend and he hadn’t said anything yet. They continued to walk around until they found a nice shady spot under a tree and sat down. From there they could see the first year’s flying lessons. “I remember my first flying lesson,” Madelyn laughed, “I think you were there. I was the tiny girl whose broom jumped up and nearly knocked her out when she said “up”.” She held out her hand and her broomstick jumped up and into her hand. She had remembered to move her head out of the way ever since then. Madelyn couldn’t help but to laugh. It was pretty amusing. She had gotten better at that since first year.
"Do you have anything planned for after you graduate? Do you know what you want to do yet?" she asked.

Brendan smiled to Madelyn. " That`s good..just walk it off.." he said and smiled some more. Brendan thought that Madelyn was a pretty awesome person and a friend. He held his shirt in the hand. " Yeah..that`s great..i am so ready for this year as well..i want to enjoy this last year.." Brendan said.
Brendan nodded in agreement to what she said. " I agree with you there..it`s a second home,a good one too...and it`s gonna be sad leaving this place..it`s gonna be pretty weird,at least for me",he said and walked with Madelyn. He knew that he was gonna miss Madelyn alot as well,she was his best friend and not being able to hang out that much with her,would be a sad thing. Brendan took a seat next to Madelyn under the tree. He smiled when she started talking about the first flying lesson.
" Hehe..yeah..i remember that..that was a fun day..how you forgot to put your hand out to say "up" ..that was hilarious" Brendan said and laughed softly of that. The first time he did it,he struggled a little too,but he managed to get the broom up. Brendan laughed with her. " Uhm..i don`t know yet what i want to do..haven`t thought much about that..but i`m sure that i`ll figure something out.." he said and looked at her. " But i know for sure that i`m gonna miss you" he said and smiled to Madelyn. " And what about you..what do you wanna do after graduating?" He asked.

"Uhm…I don’t know yet what I want to do…haven’t thought much about that…but I’m sure that I’ll figure something out…But I know for sure that I’m gonna miss you,” Brendan said. Madelyn couldn’t help but blush. He was really one of her best friends. She smiled. “I’m going to miss you too.” "And what about you…what do you wanna do after graduating?" He asked. Madelyn had to stop and think about this one. She knew she probably wouldn’t qualify for professional Quidditch. “I’ve heard that there is a detective working in the Ministry,” she began to explain, “I was hoping I could work with her. I sent an owl to the office, but I haven’t received an answer back yet.” Hmm, maybe I should send another owl later; it wouldn’t hurt to remind her.
“I didn’t really tell anyone about this yet…it’s not definite yet…” her thoughts trailed off. Brendan knew about her talent, her sixth sense. Madelyn could tell when people were lying; she can read people’s expressions and she was really good at it. “I am probably going to continue playing Muggle soccer,” she said quietly. Brendan was probably the only person who knew about her potential Muggle soccer career. She knew that he wouldn’t tell anyone about that. She feared what other wizards would think of her. Most of the purebloods already didn’t like her because she is a Muggle born, but playing Muggle sports would most likely send them over the edge. However, Madelyn trusted Brendan with her life. Even if he was a Slytherin, she knew that nothing could tear their friendship apart.
Madelyn laid her head back in the grass, her knees bent. It really was a beautiful day. “Do you think I could make it as a Quidditch player?” she asked Brendan. She knew she was well under the average height for a Quidditch keeper. She closed her eyes and soaked in the cool breeze.

Brendan smiled softly at Madelyn. " That is good..and i can`t imagine not being friends with you after graduating..i need you in my life we`ve been friends for so long..and i just can`t be without you in my life" Brendan said and smiled some more to Madelyn. They had been friends for so long and Brendan had never had a better friendship with anyone than Madelyn. He trusted her with all his heart. Madelyn started to talk about the detective. "Oh yeah..well that`s great Madelyn..i hope that she will let you work with her..it`s a great thing " he said and smiled some more to her.
"Just give it some time,i hope you`ll get a chance at least" Brendan said and looked at Madelyn. Brendan knew that Madelyn had many talents,at least when it came to sports. She was really good at muggle soccer and she wanted that to stay a secret and Brendan had promised her to keep it as a secret as well. Brendan was proud of his friend too. Madelyn could go far if she wanted to. She was great at muggle soccer and very talented.
Brendan looked at Madelyn as she asked a new question. "Hell yeah..i know you can go far with it..i believe in you Madelyn and you are so talented!" Brendan said and smiled brightly and leaned against the tree looking at her. " No matter what you choose to do..i will be proud of you..and still be your best friend M" Brendan said and smiled brighter. He loved hanging out with Madelyn. He had missed it a lot and her too.
Brendan looked around and thought that he had the best friend in the world.

Madelyn’s heart melted at his response. This guy really made her world go round. “You’re one of my best friends,” Maddy said, “There is no way that we are going to let graduating separate us.” This was true. She really hoped that Brendan would stick by her side forever.
Madelyn was glad that she had someone to talk to at school about playing muggle sports. She hadn’t really told anyone about her ‘almost obsession’ with soccer. Brendan was the one person that she could trust with anything and everything.
Brendan’s response to her question about a quidditch career brightened her day. He was so enthusiastic about it and it made her feel good about herself. “No matter what you choose to do...I will be proud of you...and still be your best friend M," he said smiling. This made Maddy blush. She leaned over and hugged him tightly. “I hope you know that you are the best guy friend that a girl could ever ask for.” After saying that, she let go of him and leaned her head back against the tree. She closed her eyes and soaked in the cool breeze.
Madelyn looked over at Brendan and smiled, her icy blue eyes were bright and calm. “I don’t really have anything else to say,” she admitted laughing. This was one of those rare moments. Maddy actually had nothing to say. This was a total shocker to her, and probably the same to Brendan too. “So,” she said chuckling, “What’s up with you? Anything interesting that I should know about?” she asked jokingly.

Brendan smiled at Maddy as she agreed that they would never ever lose the contact and their strong friendship after graduating. It meant a lot to Brendan to have such a great friend like Madelyn. She was so awesome and cool and they just had the good connection. Brendan smiled some more to Madelyn. He was lucky to have her as a best friend,the thought to himself.
A smile came spread across Brendan`s face when Maddy gave him a hug. He hugged her back too. She gave the best hugs ever. He laughed softly at her next comment. " Oh yeah..well i`m glad to hear that..and you are the best girl friend a guy could have..and i`m sure you are great as a girlfriend too" Brendan said and smiled to her. He noticed her blush but didn`t want to comment it,maybe it would make her blush even more.
They let go of eachother and leaned back against the tree again. Brendan closed his eyes for a few seconds before he looked back at Maddy. They smiled at eachother again. Brendan had to laugh as they both didn`t know what else to talk about. " I know..shouldn`t be that hard.." brendan said and chuckled a little. He was a bit surprised at that. They always had something to talk about.
Brendan wet his lips and looked at her when she asked him a few questions. " Naah..i don`t know..i mean..i haven`t heard from Angel in a veeery long time..haven`t spoken to her..so i don`t know if i`m single or taken anymore.." Brendan said softly and picked up a tiny rock and held it in his hand. He threw the rock yards away from them. " So that is pretty much what i`m up to right now..wondering.." he said and shrugged,looking at her and into her icy blue eyes.
And then Brendan smirked a bit. " You ever wondered about..us as a couple before ?" Brendan asked her and smiled a little more. That question just came out of the blue,but truth to be told,Brendan had been thinking about that sometimes,being Madelyn`s boy.

and it's just my luck ! "Nah…I don’t know…I mean…I haven’t heard from Angel in a very long time...haven’t spoken to her...so I don’t know if I’m single or taken anymore…" Brendan replied to her question. He picked up a pebble and threw it far away from them. “Oh…well, have you tried sending her an owl?” Madelyn said. She was trying to help her friend; she could tell that it was bothering him. Maddy hated seeing people like this and she tried her hardest to help them. "So that is pretty much what I’m up to right now...wondering…" “I know exactly how you feel,“ Maddy admitted truthfully.
“You ever wondered about…us as a couple before?” Brendan said. Wow, I wasn’t expecting that, Madelyn thought. She had to think about this a bit before answering. This was one of those complicated questions that Maddy didn’t particularly like to answer. But, this was Brendan; she could never hide the truth from him. “I guess I have,” she said softly.
Madelyn was having a lot of guy problems these days. This definitely called for a girl talk with Brooke and Rose. She knew that talking about this with Brendan would be really awkward. Maddy thought about attempting to talk to him about it, but she wasn’t sure if he would understand. It was true that she had liked Brendan for a really long time.
Maddy knew where he was taking this. She had been waiting for this for years now, but this was probably the only time that she couldn’t answer immediately. Her mind was screaming ‘YES!’ but the other portion of her mind felt guilty. “Shouldn’t you talk to Angel first,” she said, “I mean, that would kind of suck if she though that you two were still going out and you didn’t think the same way, right?” Madelyn tried to unjumble thing in her mind. She would love for Brendan to be hers, no doubt about it. She had definitely thought about them being more than just friends, a lot. In her eyes, Brendan was drop dead sexy and really sweet. He was also funny, loving and protective. He had all of the qualities of her dream guy. They would be perfect together. But of course, like all of the other good things in her life, it was complicated.
Madelyn sat up, bending her knees and curling up a bit. She rested her chin on top of her knees and looked out over the quidditch pitch. She sighed. “Everything that’s good in my life gets complicated, and everything bad in my life is worse,” she said. Having a heart-to-heart with a guy that would actually listen was comforting to her. Maddy leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder. “I kinda wish that I could go back in time and fix all of this, you know?” she said. “I feel like every choice I make ends up being the wrong one,” Madelyn said, a hint of anger sounding in her voice. She really wanted to let all of her emotions out, but she couldn’t. It wasn’t acceptable to her. This was truly one of those ‘FML” moments. These occurred quite often in her life. It was kind of like she was a walking fail as some points. Thank god that Madelyn had Brendan, Rose and Brooke in her life. They really kept her world from falling apart. She was thankful for them, always.

Brendan looked at Maddy. He just shook his head. "No..not yet..but i will..i can`t keep wondering like this anymore..it`s driving me insane." he said and looked around. It was hard to know that he didn`t know what was gonna happen with him and Angel. But he was glad he had Madelyn to talk with about this. He gave her a soft smile and was glad that she wanted to help him with this.
He looked back at Madelyn when she said that she also had thought about them being a couple. It brought a smile to Brendan`s face. He was glad to know that he wasn`t the only one who had thought about them as a couple. Lately Brendan had thought about them together alot. It was a nice thought but then again he had Angel,or not ? His feelings for Maddy had started to grow these days. It was hard to egnore the feelings too.
Brendan sighed and nodded. " Yeah i should talk to her first about it..i know.." he said and smiled softly to her. " mmm you`re right about that Maddy.." he said and looked at her. Brendan knew that he had to talk to Angel first,he didn`t want to date someone behind Angel`s back,but if they weren`t a couple anymore,then he would so go for Madelyn. Just looking at her gave him butterflies in the stomach,he felt a little warm too.
He looked out on the quidditch pitch as well and just listened to Maddy talk. He sighed softly and wet his lips. " We all have our ups and downs in life Maddy..so do i..and you know i`m here for you if you ever want to talk about it" brendan said and put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. He smiled when she rested her head on his shoulder. It was nice having moments like this with her. Brendan put his arm around her shoulder. " Yeah..i wish that sometimes too..and i wish i could help you with whatever you need help with..no matter what i`m always here for you Maddy...and i know that you are here for me too" He said and looked at her. He was so glad that they could share emotions like this with eachother. He felt comfortable enough sharing it with her. Brendan planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Everything is going to be fine Maddy..i promise you that" he said with a soft voice,but you could hear that he meant every word he said. " But i think that every choice we make has a meaning to it..you know..like it`s meant to happen for some reason.." Brendan said. He wanted to be there for his friend,and possible and maybe new girlfriend.

She could never be one of those cheating bitches, but she hadn’t heard from Ethan in a while, similar to Brendan’s problem with Angel. Brendan was always there for her, no matter what. She loved that. Madelyn and Brendan would be perfect together and would make a really cute couple.
"Everything is going to be fine Maddy...I promise you that, but I think that every choice we make has a meaning to it…you know...like it’s meant to happen for some reason..." In that case there could be a problem, but Madelyn couldn’t resist. “I know where you’re taking this,” she smiled, her icy blue eyes looked up at him, “I would love to be your girlfriend, but I have to sort things out with a few other people so I don’t feel guilty,” she admitted. “So we’re not going out yet, I’ll have to leave you hanging on this one.” Madelyn felt really bad about this, but she needed to talk to Ethan and a few other people before they made this solid.
“But you really should talk to Angel first. I would feel really bad if we all weren’t on the same page with this.” Madelyn was trying to make sense of everything in her head and so far it was working. She really did love Brendan the most, especially because she’s known him the longest. “We can keep this a secret for now,” Maddy said with a smirk as she kissed him on the cheek.

Brendan loved seeing Madelyn smile. She had such a great smile and that always brought a smile to Brendan`s face too. He cared so much about her. She meant a lot to him. He wouldn`t like seeing her getting hurt. It would break Brendan`s feelings if that ever would happen. Brendan still kept her in his embrace. It felt good to have her there,so natural too. But he knew that she had this thing with Ethan. He just wanted to keep her like this the whole night through. Brendan smiled again and just enjoyed the feeling for now.
He looked at Madelyn as she spoke to him again. Brendan nodded as he understood that she had to take care of a few things first. He wouldn`t push her into anything,he wanted her to be ready for it as well before things between them started to happen. It was better that way. " I understand that Maddy..and i don`t wanna push you..we`ll just have to take it slow and easy.." he said and smiled at her. He liked her eyes,that icy blue color she had. " Yeah...I`ll talk to Angel about this i really need to do that..i don`t want any of us to feel bad about this.." Brendan said and looked into her eyes.
Brendan smiled when she kissed him on the cheek. It was a sweet kiss and her lips were so soft too. "Yeah..it`s a secret" he said and grinned at her and just enjoyed it more the time he got to spend with her like this. He didn`t mind it at all. " Let`s hope it won`t start raining.." Brendan said and smiled at her. He hoped that everything would work out for them both and that she would fix her problems,he could he would help her with it.

That was the perfect response; she didn’t think anyone could have said that better than he did. “Thank you so much for understanding. You pretty much just read my mind,” she said giggling. It was true, she didn’t want to rush into anything. Brendan spoke, “Yeah…I’ll talk to Angel about this I really need to do that…I don’t want any of us to feel bad about this…” He looked into Maddy’s ice blue eyes. He was hot, Maddy would be proud to say he was her boyfriend.
Madelyn leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. She wanted to keep this a secret for now. She wasn’t feeling that guilty anymore. “Yeah…it’s a secret,” Brendan replied. “Let’s hope it won’t start raining.” That was random, Maddy thought, but she had to agree. “Oh I hope it doesn’t rain, that would ruin everything,” she continued, “The professors would make us go back up to our common rooms- and I wouldn’t be able to stay here with you,” she said in a sweet tone. She really wanted to stay here forever with Brendan.
“I just want everything to remain the same between us,” Madelyn added with a smile. She hoped that Brendan agreed with this. She wanted to be able to talk to him about anything. Maddy didn’t ask for much from Brendan. She just wanted everything to remain the same as it has always been. Maddy smiled and looked at him with pleading eyes.

Brendan looked at Madelyn and smiled. He was glad that they understood eachother like that. And Brendan has never been the type of guy who wants to push anyone into anything,especially not Madelyn. Brendan felt more happy when he was around her and spended time with Madelyn.
Brendan smiled as she commented about the rain as well. " Mm that would so ruin the moment " he said and looked at her. And he had to agree with her,they wouldn`t get to spend more time together if the professors sent them back to the common rooms. He didn`t want that at all,he just wanted to be here with Madelyn for as long as he could. The more time he spent with her the more he wanted to be her boyfriend. It was something that he hoped for. Brendan hold her close and just kept on smiling,this made him smile more than ever,he just hoped he didn`t look like an idiot smiling so much.
He looked at Madelyn when she spoke again. " Yeah so do i Madelyn and you know that the best relationships starts off with friendship first" he said and looked at her. He wanted the same as Madelyn wanted,and he didn`t want anything to change between them,exept being a couple and not just friends anymore. He looked into Madelyn`s eyes again and he felt warmer just by looking into them. He was spellbound by her eyes,they were so amazing and he could just look into them forever. His heart started to beat faster,like a race horse almost. But that was the effect she had on him.
