She really wanted to remember her family, past life, but most of all, Luce wanted recollection of herself and her personality before the accident. 'The Accident' being a heavy, loose brick hitting her on the head when she was out in Hogsmaede, causing her to lose her memory. Everyone in her family tried extremely hard to help her regain a memory, an experience, her old self. She never could, but she'd grown to love the people who claimed to be her family. They were never annoyed with her, never screamed at her for not being able to remember herself and were always there for her. She was lucky she had them, she knew, and tried hard to show the affection she held for them. Something never stopped though; wondering what she used to be like and whether she would ever get her memory back. She'd asked her cousin, Fred, someone she was supposed to have had established an excellent friendship with, what would happen if she never got it back. No matter how much she pressured him, he'd never give her a proper answer to that question. He simply replied, "Don't think like that Lucy. Of course you'll get your memory back." Lucky for him, Little Luce had regained three people in her memory, her cousin Fred, cousin Rosie and 'cousin' Roula Potter. She could remember memories of them and old affection ran back through her veins, but only those three people were lucky enough for Lucy to remember. She had never skipped class before. Never, and she had an instinct the old Lucy would never have done that either. She wouldn't have had anything better to do and from what she seen, Percy, her father, was a man who wanted his daughters to do well in thier O.W.Ls and N.E.W.T.s. She didn't want to disappoint a man who was ('was' being the right word) such an important figure in her life. Now, though, skipping class was what she was doing right that second. Why? She figured she had much better things to do and in truth, Little Lucy was scared. Scared for her memory. She honestly thought she'd never find it again; prehaps those people she remembered were just by chance. Maybe she'd never find it again, have to remember all the spells she'd forgotten from scratch. It certainly seemed that way. So, there she sat, on the fifth floor of Hogwarts, with an old photo album within her grasp. She couldn't recall anybody as she flicked through the pages, despair seeping deep within her. Finally, she lost it. She dropped the album and tucked her head in her hands, beginning to cry. Everything seemed hopeless, and that was obvious. The once optimistic Lucy Weasley crying, what was the world coming to? "talking"'thinking'(tagged) KAT! (notes) Boo, sucky start! *---I DON'T CARE I HAVE NO LUCK { I DON'T MISS IT ALL THAT MUCH }s o m a n y t h i n g s i c a n t t o u c h Katherine walked past Professor Greyback’s classroom. She was supposed to be there now, but she didn’t really care. Why did she need to know about the history of magic? Its not like knowing history was going to save her in any way. Besides, Kat had more important things on her mind. Family problems. She had spent the whole weekend crying in isolation, not leaving her dorm. It was extremely rare for Katherine to be seen crying.
She walked up the stairs to the fifth floor. The corridor was silent. Silence always brought questions to Katherine’s mind. Why did her adoptive parents not tell her that she wasn’t their real child? That question had an easy answer. They simply hated her. Another question came to mind, but this one didn’t have a simple answer. Why did her real parent give her away? Did they not like her either? Was she not good enough? She didn’t understand.
Katherine continued to walk, her flats made no noise as she moved. Being a cat animagus had its good points. She was able to walk through a pile of crunchy leaves and not make a single sound. Kat began to get bored from just walking. She morphed into her feline form and paced up the corridor. A sharp slamming noise echoed from around the corner. The tabby quickened her pace. The small pendant silver tag around her neck glinted from the sun.
A familiar figure stood in the middle of the hall. Calypso cantered up to the girl and circled her feet once before she jumped up onto the windowsill. The girl was Lucy Weasley, one of Katherine’s only friends. The two girls were inseperable since the beginning of the semester until the tragic accident. The accident left poor Lucy in the hospital for a while and Kat came to visit her multiple times. She hadn’t seen Luce in a while because they stopped letting visitors into her room unless they were family.
Calypso’s bright yellow eyes watched Lucy from the window ledge. The girl sat down a few feet away from the window and began to cry. Lucy, crying? There was definitely something wrong with that. The cat jumped down from the windowsill and sat next to Lucy. Katherine willed herself into her human form and appeared, sitting next to her friend. She placed her hand on her friend’s knee. “Hey Luce, what’s wrong?” she asked.

Or at least, she hadn't been. The only thing she cried at would be something horribly tragic. She'd never cried when she hadn't gotten something, never cried when she'd gotten into trouble, never when she'd been yelled at. It just wasn't natrual. Even when Tiberius Greyback insulted her dead uncle, Fred, she'd laughed. Laughed. Right outloud, in his face, almost peeing herself (This had severely annoyed the boy.). She just hadn't been able to cry - it wasn't in her nature. Optimists didn't usually cry anyway. But now it was totally different. Just sitting down, leaning against a wall with a photo album clasped tightly to her chest, sobbing her heart out. Lucy felt useless. She hated, no, she despised her life right that second. She really did. Everyone tried to be supportive but every time she said she couldn't remember and they said it was fine, she could hear the flash of disappointment that flashed through thier eyes as they tried to prevent her to see it, and the pity they all tried so desperately to hide and avoid from thier tones. She may have been young but she wasn't dumb. She may have lost her memory but she could still tell expressions of voices and the looks of faces. Plus, what did they know about being in Lucy's shoes? Had any of them had amnesia at her age? No, they had not. All she wanted to do was to lash out and throw things, question and query them as to what they knew about the things she was going through which she knew they certainly did not. But she kept her cool. She needed to appear like calm Lucy Weasley, not the new anger-filled Lucy Weasley. Someone who no one would approve of or even like, especially when sher started smashing this, slamming doors and yelling. Typical teenage things to do but also, like crying, it wasn't in Lucy's nature. Yes, in a normal teenagers, but Lucy certainly wasn't the normal teenage girl. "Hey Luce, what's wrong?" A voice from beside her said. It was almost so quiet Lucy didn't hear it, but forceful enough to make her drop her photo album in shock; she hadn't heard Kat come in. There was numerous things she enjoyed about Kat; one of them being they met each other after Lucy's accident. Everything she learned about Kat was new and it wasn't something or someone she had to remember. Plus, Kat understood her and was actually nice to her, and when she said she couldn't remember there was no pity in her voice or disappointment in her eyes. She hadn't met Lucy before the accident. She didn't need to have disappointment or pity. Also, Lucy felt more relaxed when she was with Kat. She didn't have to pretend she was still old Lucy Weasley. She could just rant and talk and laugh when she wanted to, or smile when it wasn't needed (not that that happened much anyway.). She was so lucky to have Kat as a friend. Sighing and trying to gulp away her tears, she merely whispered. "Ju-Just fe-feel useless. Oh, K-Kat, I can't re-remember an-anything!" talking&'thinking'(tagged) KAT! (notes) Yuck, hate my post. *---I DON'T CARE I HAVE NO LUCK { I DON'T MISS IT ALL THAT MUCH }s o m a n y t h i n g s i c a n t t o u c h Katherine heard Lucy’s heart beating fast; she could practically feel it beating. Being a cat gave her some advantages, this was one of them. “Ju-Just fe-feel useless. Oh, K-Kat, I can’t re-remember an-anything!” Lucy said, practically choking on her tears. Kat did feel really bad for her. This whole thing seemed to be a coincidence. In other words, Kat would go out and beat the person that did this to her friend, but there was no one to blame. “Shush Luce, you’re not useless,” she said. How could Lucy Weasley think that she was useless? Lucy was pretty much Kat’s only friend. She really appreciated the fact that she had someone that was her age that she could spill her feelings to. Katherine was so lucky to have her as a friend. Everyone around Hogwarts and Beauxbatons was either scared of the fifteen year old or hated her. It was nice having a friend for once. “It might take some time, but I’m sure that you’ll get your memory back,” Katherine said optimistically.
Katherine Evans was far from an optimist, but she knew that at this point that Lucy needed hope. She needed someone to help her along the road to recovery and Kat was more than happy to help out her friend. She looked at Lucy with her now yellow eyes and spoke, “I’ll go with you, and help you re-gain your memory. I’ll stick by your side, no worries.” Kat’s face showed a reassuring smile. She did truly care for her friend.
Once a person gains Katherine’s trust, they’re friends for life. There is an exception to that though. Rose Knight was the exception. Kat was appalled by what Rose did. There is a rule among all friends. You can’t sleep with a friend’s boyfriend, and especially with Katherine; if you did that, it was considered a death wish. Kat didn’t care if Rose was so drunk that she couldn’t stand. A rule is a rule. She did, however, get back at both Rose and Lechkov.
Katherine sat next to Lucy, who was crying her eyes out at the moment. She hated seeing her friend cry, but she really didn’t know how to help. Kat placed her arm around Lucy, know knowing what else to do.
