Rose walked briskly off the moving staircase onto the second floor. She had nothing to do there, but simply couldn't stand the fact that she kept tripping and hurting herself every time the stairs moved. She needed to give her body a break for a few minutes before going up another million flights to the common room. Rose would probably just run up the stairs and hope that she would move fast enough to get up there without dying. She walked down the hallway that she had ended up in, and sat on the floor with her back against the wall opposite the windows. Rose looked out of the window, and saw the sun moving up in the sky. She looked at the oversized clock on the wall. The large hand was on the 2, and the small one on the five. So it was 5:10 AM. Wow. Rose couldn't believe she was up that early, but she couldn't sleep all night. There were so many things going on. Madelyn and Bella's rivalry was bothering her, but it wasn't that bad. But the emotional scene on the North Tower had claimed Rose's ability to sleep for almost a week. She had never felt so alone in her life, except once. Though this was different. For the first time in two years, Rose wished she was home. She wished her mother was alive, so that she could apologize for everything. So she could change what she did, so she could be happy. Rose hadn't been happy since her fourth year of Beauxbatons. She was a 14-year-old girl then. That was 3 years ago. The day she found out what really happened to the rest of her family was her breaking point. And now, she was still broken. There was not one part of her that mended after that day. Sure, now she had more friends, and sort of knew her sister, but she hadn't even begun to mend yet. Rose wanted to run, run far away and start new. Again. Change her name. Again. Find new friends and a new place to stay. Again. But could she go through all of that, and pull it off, again? Once was pretty hard, but maybe the second time would be easier. Running away would be just so easy, so great. But she was a Gryffindor. Strong, loyal, and brave at heart. Running away wasn't an option. She was going to stay, and be strong, and loyal to the friends, and one member of family, she had now. That was what she had to do. On this decision, Rose tore her gaze from the sun rise to face the footsteps she could hear coming down the corridor.[/blockquote]
