"Another job well done," Katelynn mused to herself as she watched mother and son walk hand in hand down the street. Another case Katelynn had solved, and another time people walked down the street singing her praises, or mourning after loved ones. She smiled as she walked through the doors and into her office. No new cases had popped up. Excellent. She could take a break after a busy morning. She hummed 'lollipop' as she grabbed the offices keys and told all her staff to take a break for two hours.
"Two hours at the maximum," she warned her staff who nodded and followed her out of the door. Kate turned and locked it, then walked out of the stuffy alleyway and into the world of Hogsmeade. After a quick cup of tea, she decided to go to Honeydukes, as she thought she deserved a treat. And what a treat there was. Sitting there with her back facing her was Charlie Masters.
wow, she thought, been a while since I seen him.
Katelynn grinned and put her hands over his eyes. "Guess who?" She taunted.
Charlie was a good friend, and Katelynnn enjoyed his company very much. She just didn't know how much yet.

The days had gone by too fast for charlies liking and he felt that growing desire ,feelings of love for Katelyn his friend had begun to develop over these days.He wasn't sure what he could ever do but one day finally end this miserable life of his and join Isobel but then again his father had always said that he was death in sugarcoated wrapping and all those he cares for would end up dead and their blood would be on his hands.He feared letting his feelings grow and he had hurt so many girls with his selfish feelings.He shouldn't be allowed to have love at all.He couldn't risk letting them get even more hurt than he had already.
He went to honey-dukes to get some sweets and maybe have a talk with a close friend of his.He didn't really approve of her dating one Brayden Mccallister but Harrison was a gown girl and she loved him deeply.He bit on her bottom-lip a bit roughly before he looked at his favorite candies."Harris? Harrison?" he got a bit worried now as he couldn't see him but he looked around a bit more before he finally saw Harrison but Holy hell she had a belly that he knew too well what it meant.She had to be pregnant and charlie worried now about her .He hoped that Brayden would not hurt Harrison or her feelings.
He smiled a bit as he felt a pair of soft hands in front of his eyes and he immediately recognized that sweet smelling perfume and that silky voice that always tugged on his heart in the sweetest way.He wondered what she had been up to lately as he hadn't seen her for a while. "ah ..Santa? the panda bear Ko?" he teased and smiled "or could it be the lovely little Katelyn?"

Katelynn was surprised - extremely surprised - when she looked at Charlie and felt the need for something more than friendship. A certain part of her was yearning to kiss him. She felt worried and insecure now.
She hadn't felt anything for Charlie (up until now) except for loyalty. Friendship. Companinship. She wasn't aware of the feelings he harboured towards her - hell, she wasn't sure if she'd want to know. They had a friendship to be proud of - knowing would ruin it. Katelynn didn't want it ruined. So she'd keep it to herself and hopefully, with time, it would pass.
Her smile grew wider on her face as Charlie made guesses at her expense. When he 'finally' got the right answer, she leaned over his shoulder, her hair falling around his shoulder, and spoke indignantly, "Little?!" she paused with a grin. "I won't deny I'm lovely though." she grinned once more, leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. It was a usual greeting, so Kate was a little confused when she felt her heart skip a beat when she done so. She blinked but turned him around and pulled him into a hug.
"It's been way too long, Charlie! Where have you been hiding from me?!" she demanded, pulling away and looking at him, a scolding expression on her face. She looked in his eyes, turned a little pink and looked away again.
So this was the game fate was going to play? bring it on, the 20 year old thought.

Charlie had lately been dreaming of Katelyn and how it would be to have her close to him , to love and adore her like he always wanted to but he could never risk her life.He could never risk a life again as she was certain that his father would kill her the same way he killed Isobel.She could never be with him ,not that he thought she wanted him and the other girls that all showed feelings for him, he couldn't risk their lives like that.
He would rather just hear the usual words about him being a man-whore who didn't care about others feelings.He did and he would always feel the pain of hurting them by his actions but he felt it was the only right thing to do.He felt the pain of loss before and he had seen the blood been spilled and he had even been forced to taste it.She despised himself for that and he hated that he was so damn weak that he couldn't protect them.
"of course you're my little Katelyn ..my best-friend " he smiled softly and looked at the beautiful girl at his side.He knew that he shouldn't have feelings for her but he still did.He wanted to kill of his emotions and try to be a friend instead.He tried to quiet the greedy monster in that wanted more , that wanted love."as for me hiding .. ah i never hide..i have just been busy working .you know it takes a lot of work to run a stripclub " he smirked and ruffled her hair.

Katelynn was usually a pretty calm and composed girl around Charlie, unless she was drunk or hyper on sugar. Katelynn wished she was hyper right then. Because if she wasn't calm or composed on the outside, like she felt on the inside, she would be able to tell him she liked him without feeling the slightest bit of regret or awkwardness. Charlie on the other hand ... She knew she'd feel remorseful is she put their friendship under strain. Charlie Masters was a really good friend, and although she wanted him to be more, she had to be considerate and think of him first. She was, after all, the more responsible of the two, or could be when she wanted to be.
"of course you're my little Katelyn ..my best-friend " he said as he smiled softly, pulling on her heart, and looked into her eyes. She almost melted, looked away quickly, her cheeks a slight shade of pink. It saddened her as realisation hit, knowing she was his best friend ... and would only ever be his best friend. Nothing more. He probably had a secret girlfriend she didn't know about; Charlie was sweet and cute enough to entapture any girl he wanted with his love. She felt it a shame it wasn't her.
“Yes. You're best friend. And...” she swallowed, still looking away, whispering under her breath, forgetting he was there. “That's all you'll ever be.”
As if realising he was there, Katelynn just hoped he hadn't heard that, but continued chatting as if she had not said anything to give away her feelings. Luckily, he kept talking. Prehaps he hadn't heard or was ignoring what she'd said.

Oh. A stripclub. She should've remembered. She was suddenly caught in a vision of Charlie at that stupid club, surrounded by half naked girls, preening over him, kissing him. In reality, Katelynn suddenly looked angry, but most of all, upset. She looked at Charlie, that look in her eyes, until quickly, she straightened it to one of regular occourance. She attempted a smile. “Haha, must be intruging. All the girls must want to pleasure you. Congratulations.” She joked, but inside her rough exterior, she knew Charlie would be able, as her best friend, would totally be able to see past her mask, the mask she wore in front of him, pretending everything was okay when it totally wasn't. All she wanted was him, now, to love her and cherish her. He would never do that, and for that Katelynn despaired in front of him eyes.
notes - sorry for the wait! and if there was ever a time to tell her he likes her, it'd be now. kiss her? xD

Charlie wasn't sure how he could be with a woman with his father still alive but if he ever wanted to be with someone then it would be katelynn.She was strong and independent, all in all he was madly in love with all of her."Katelynn whats on your mind? "i asked softly and looked into her eyes and cupped her cheeks in his hands before leaning in and kissing her lips softly.he wasn't sure why she was so sad but he hated it with every bone in his body."Katelynn ..I am madly in love with you and i know i shouldn't but i cant help it "He looked into her eyes and sighed softly.
"my life isn't the easiest and well Those women you think i always sleep around with ,like everyone else does . i don't i haven't been intimate with a woman for a good while ..its too hard."She looked so sad and lonely, just like him."Katelynn.. my Katie ..i cant bare to see you sad ..and I'm sorry if i screwed it all up by saying this"He sighed softly and looked at his feet as he awaited the slap.All his years after Isobel`s death ,he had dealt with all the rumors and name calling in hopes that he would be free forever from his fathers grasp.
She was so beautiful and so strong and yet she was so fragile in his eyes.He chewed on his bottom-lip nervously as he wondered hateful thoughts ran trough her mind at the moment.She wouldn't want a man like him ?,Someone so weak he couldn't defend his first love and unborn child but was still fearful of his father ,he feared the thought of him being the same kind of man as his father or grandfather.

Katelynn didn't want these feelings that had always been there and now ... being in his presense ... she loved it. She didn't love him. Not yet, but her feelings were expanding so fast! She knew love was going to come easily soon enough. Soon enough.
"Katelynn whats on your mind? " His voice, soft, perfect, interrupted her messed up thoughts. Suddenly, so suddenly she didn't react, Charlie's lips were on her own in a short, tender kiss. Katelynn couldn't believe what happened there. Nothing could get better than this, she thought. But it did. So much better.
"Katelynn ..I am madly in love with you and i know i shouldn't but i cant help it "
Katelynn just stood there, rather dizzy, but a smile, a genuine smile, swan onto her lips. She didn't speak. She replayed what Charlie said in her head, over, and over, and over. His voice, now sad, and she hated herself for it, he told her, much to her bliss, and love, that he knew she thought he was sleeping around, enticing many girls into his bed when he wasn't, he hadn't been with a girl for some time. Katelynn merely nodded at this. She was revelling in happiness now. She smiled at Charlie, a charming smile that reflected her inner happiness. She stayed in his arms, and finally, began to spoke, her voice a high soprano of pleasure.
“A few things, Charlie... First, you shouldn't be sorry for loving me because ... I think I ... love you too. And if it's too hard ... would it be too hard with me? Really? Thirdly ... you haven't screwed anything up. The thing that screwed me up was you not loving me back. Or at least, I thought you didn't. Charlie Masters, I want you. As you are. Please. Just consider it.” She whispered the last few lines, then wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him softly, sweetly.When she pulled away, she smiled. “I need to go to mine, call work and say I'm taking time off work for my friend... care to join?” she offered with a charming smile.

He worried so much on how she felt and what she would do now but part of him hoped and longed that maybe he could find a mutual love with her.That the two of them would be happy together if not for the rest of their lives but for a while at least.He needed someone to be close too and make him sane.He needed so bad to be with someone ,to feel alive again.He looked and waited for her to answer and give him some sort of knowledge of what would happen.
She began to speak and the words that came out made his heart feel lighter and happier than it had been for a long time.He had always managed to smack that big stupid grin on his face and fool everyone into think that he was a happy man.He hadn't been a happy man for a long while but today he truly felt like a happy man who was in love with a gorgeous woman who felt the same way about him as he felt about her."Thank you Katelynn..i needed to hear that and of course I'm open to joining you tonight."
