Amy rolled her eyes, staring at the students flooding into the castle. She already felt quite awkward, she was never one to truly enjoy dances. Perhaps however that was because for the most part she always found herself alone at these things. Unlike most of the others who had come dressed up for this, she had come in her school robes without any intention of dancing with people. Of course she wore her normal smile, maintained her bubbly attitude, but she was far from happy with the way she was starting off the term. She had tried to break herself out of these sort of habits, observing functions like this and not being apart of them.
Beneath her robe she would quitely twirl her wand between her fingers, sighing. There was a reason she was always alone, a reason that she was sure no one knew but her. She had several things going for her, looks, intelligence, grades, friends. The one thing she couldn't muster however was to talk to those she thought were interesting. It was especially hard for her because she was not like the other boy chasing girls at the school, her tastes were different, what most would consider to be a bit more odd, maybe even wrong? She could never muster up the nerve to talk to another girl and even then how would she find one like her?
Shaking herself from those thoughts for a moment, she would smile and wave at a passing group of third years. She knew them from last term, having helped them get through their charms classes. Thats how everyone knew her or of her. She was always the one who people came to for help with their studies, she was the know it all girl to most people. She didn't think of herself as such though, she simply paid more attention to the courses then alot of others did. She loved magic, even when she was not in class she practiced, studied, and crafted ideas about spells use and she even had a few of her own she was working on.
"At this rate you're just gonna stand here all night." she muttered to herself, not really sure if she had said that loud enough for anyone to hear. The noise was disorienting, she couldn't actually hear her own thoughts at some points with all the chattering and the excitement from all the students to be back. "Just a little longer and you can duck out to the common room.." she repeated to herself, thinking aloud. She would've much prefered the library however at this time it was most likely out of the question.

Harmony smiled as she walked into the back to school dance,wearing a simple and causal dress. she wasn't really the dancing type but she did dance a little sometimes.She smiled as she walked around and looked at everything around her.she was a very shy person but she was more outgoing when you got to know her. most people were surpised when they met or ran into her at hogwarts with her kids.They don't expect for her to be a mother of such young kids at that age.she was able to go here since her kids were visting their father at the moment.she smiled as she went over and got a drink from a snack table. she hadn't dated in awhile because of that she was taking care of her kids,which she loved doing. but she did want to date again. she hadn't dated anyone since therese.

-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- She was anxiously checking the time, the longer she stayed here the more she wanted to leave. It seemed like everyone was laughing and having a good time but here, making her feel somewhat out of place. With a sigh she would push off the wall and slowly start to wander away from her spot. She'd look around at all the decorations they put into this, the teachers always out did themselves when it came to the spells and enchants used in the parties. Sometimes she wondered if perhaps some of them would have been better party planners in their life time then they would have been proffessors, but she supposed not since they were here and had the job.
All of this would be running through her head as she walked, so she was paying almost no attention when she bumped into someone. Falling onto her butt, she would clumsily lose her balance as she tensed up in shock. Sitting on the ground she would apologize quickly, not wanting to start some sort of drama all ready. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there!" she called out as she stood slowly and dusted herself off, looking now at Harmony. She would stand there for a moment, examining her in her dress for a moment. She was pretty cute, so was the dress, but the words seemed at a loss for her to say anything as always.
"Are you alright? I am so terribly sorry." she apologized once more as she sighed. "I was distracted by all the decorations." she announced with a bit of a blush on her cheeks as she was mildly embarassed but smiling brightly all the same. "Uh.. oh yeah. My names Amy, a little rude to not introduce myself at all I guess.." she trailed off as she stared into Harmonies eyes for a moment before blinking and shaking her head. "Have we met before?"

Harmony stumbled backwards when someone had bumped into her. she almost lost her balance.she looked at amy and smiled as she said"it's ok,i wasn't paying much attention either. I'm harmony,and i think we may have met before, i've seen you in the common room before"she smiled as she looked in her eyes for a moment then she looked around, not sure what to say,since she was shy. after a moment or two, she looked back at amy with a smile

The name seemed somewhat familiar, after six years here however sometimes names easily escaped you. But she did seem like a nice person, most people would have been incredibly irritated by what had just taken place but she seemed kind and understanding. Straightening her robes she noticed that Harmony also seemed to be as embarassed as well, which made her laugh. "In the common rooms? Oh! You're a Ravenclaw, that would explain why you seem familiar.." she trailed off feeling like a ditz.
It was kind of awkward, since she felt quite shy but someone had to keep the conversation going. She was fumbling around in her head for something to talk about, but nothing that seemed practical came to mind so instead she would offer a compliment? It was all she had. "Err.. you look cute in that dress." she said slowly, insulting herself in her own head. Cute? She could've said something alot more complimentary then that but she blanked. Sighing inwardly she would look about. "I had forgotten all about this dance deal. Thats why I'm in my school robes.. heh." she laughed softly. |

Harmony smiled as she blushed a little when she was called cute. she smiled and said"i think you look really cute in it. she blushed darker after she said what she just said. she looked around for a few moments to get her blush to fade, but it didn't as she looked at amy again. she wasn't embarassed just she wasn't use to complaining that much since she didn't talk that much.

-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- The fact that Harmony blushed didn't escape her notice, but it also didn't produce a straight answer to her questioning thoughts. If anything it only made her wonder more, wether or not the compliment went from one girl to another like a friendly thing or not. She laughed to herself as she watched her look away again, obviously terrible at reading signs or body language. Perhaps that was something she would have to look into, finding some sort of help on reading signs like that.
"Well I'll take your word for it, I guess." she said with a smile as she laughed. She couldn't really see it herself, they were just here everyday school robes, but she assumed Harmony was being polite perhaps? At the very least she seemed nice to talk to though, Amy had gone all day without really talking to anyone other than the Professors about her classes. "So who did you come with?" she asked over the noise as she leaned in closer to Harmony, listening for her response. She was assuming, which was usually a bad thing but she was trying. The next statement out of her mouth though kind just blurted it's self out.
"If you're not here with someone, wanna go sit somewhere? I'd like to continue out chatting." |

Harmony's blush dimmed then slowly faded away from her face. She smiled and chuckled a little when she heard Amy laugh. She shook her head a little and than said" No,i came here alone and yes i would like to go sit somewhere. I want to continue this chat as well" She smiled softly as she looked at her then she looked around for somewhere to sit. She was happy, that she had someone to talk and she also thought Amy was very cute.
After a few moments of looking around,she looked back at Amy and said to Amy over the noise of the loud music" how about we go outside and chat?i think it'll be hard to talk over this very loud music the whole time" She looked around for a moment then looked back at Amy with a smile as she waited for her to respond to what she had just asked.
She didn't really like to talk over loud music and she didn't when she could help it. She remained quiet and waited for her answer. she listened to the loud music only a little as she fixed her dress and pushed her hair behind her ear and out of her face. she took a step closer to Amy to make sure she heard her
