Garrett Lucien Belby had just finished Quidditch practice and he was pouring down sweat. For a September day, the weather was burning hot. You could honestly toast a piece of bread in this heat. Normally, he would be one to spend all the time in the world outside on a sunny day, but this was too much for him. Another bead of sweat traveled down the temple of Garrett's head. He groaned and thought that he was lucky he used good deodorant today. After washing up in his dorm room, he picked up some books for a random few subjects he had homework for.
Making his way down the endless staircases of Hogwarts, he lost his sense of consciousness and his mind began to drift away into the farthest reaches of his brain. Garrett Lucien Belby was the Prefect who honestly should not have been Prefect. He was a smooth talker and liar. Making his way through any obstacle whether it pertained to girl troubles or professors nagging him. Strolling down the corridor of the Third Floor with his hands in his pockets, the Ravenclaw was the embodiment of laziness and power. A small cocky smirk was spread across Garrett's lips. The thought of how he could twist and turn the words of even Hogwarts professors made him smile. He could not help it. Everything seemed to be going right for him.
No one would have really noticed it, but Garrett was a bit more enclosed and isolated than most. This meaning that he did not lightly share with others. Whether it was anything from secrets to even food. In a sea of people he did not trust. There was only two people that could break the ice that surrounded him: Albus Potter and Adriana Reed. Albus was a seventh year like him now and they were pretty much best buds. Not the type that shared feelings, but the type that you could be a guy around. But his relationship with Adriana Reed was so much different than that. They shared everything together. Their every desire, secret, and possession was at the disposal of the other.
Times like these made him ponder. About his personal life which was all but inactive at the moment, the fact that his sister was the girl sought after by every Slytherin boy in their Sixth and Seventh Years, and memories of his past. Garrett Belby was very small when a tragic event had struck him...literally. When the young Ravenclaw was seven years of age, he was playing at a park during a full moon. It was a dark and stormy night, so crashes of thunder and lightning could be heard. While playing with a little metal rod as a wand, a stroke of lightning came down and struck him. He immediately passed out. Being found by his parents, they took him to Mungo's Hospital and the healers saved him from dying. The only catch was that Garrett had a special DNA implanted in him that could zap people. At first, the young Belby had no control of it, but after it was nurtured, it became an asset to him.
Shaking his head, Garrett Belby suddenly found himself on the Fourth Floor, facing the entrance to the Hogwarts Library. He sighed and opened the doors. Inside was a gigantic room filled with thousands upon thousands of books. His mind took a long while to grasp the situation. Somehow though, Garrett had the sense that he was not going to get his homework done. Walking towards the dozens of long work benches in the Library, Garrett noticed something amazing. It may have sounded cheesy, but in the shadows of the dimly lit Library, one glimmering blonde girl stood out. And Garrett Belby recognized her. Her name was Kristin DeLaserna. With a friendly smirk on his face, he walked over to her and her enormous book. "And I thought I was going to have the worst time of my life today at the Library. But look at you, beautiful and studying a big ass book."

Garrett Belby could almost never be found within a hundred feets' distance of the library. Him and books just never went well together. So not to his surprise, he could barely recall how large the Hogwarts library was or even the amount of books which it held. Despite the fact that the structure of the library was meant to keep in just dimly lit, the blistering light coming from the outside penetrated the windows viciously. He grabbed a random book which just happened to be on love magic and used it to shield himself from the glimmering light. Ironic or not, the book sent butterflies in his stomach.
Wiping a drop of sweat from his forehead, the boy waited for Kristin's greeting. Beautiful. I wonder how many times you've used that before. she replied. Garrett frowned sarcastically and said, "Well that wasn't exactly the greeting or response I was expecting to get. But you truly are beautiful beyond compare darling." A sly smirk crept its way onto his lips. She knew him too darn well. “I guess your luck changed, and I'd rather not be here studying. Anyways, why are you here anyways pretty boy?” "Good to know. And I am so glad that my luck did change. But I'm here for the same thing you are. Homework. Though you and I could make quite the pair to just throw our homework aside for a while." whispered Garrett in her ears just to tease her. As Kristin spoke the next line, the Ravenclaw Prefect pulled back, slightly offended. "It feels good knowing I'm wanted. Thanks Kristin. I put myself out like this and you just shut me down." he replied with a straight face.
The Ravenclaw Prefect scanned the fellow Ravenclaw girl from head to toe. Nothing could be said for how beautiful Garrett truly thought she was. But then again, here they were, with their main purpose being to do homework. The boy eyed each of his textbooks he used for his homework. Astronomy? Boring. Potions? Hah even worse. Finally, the Quidditch Chaser sighed and gave up. Throwing his books off to the side of the table, he smiled nonchalantly at Kristin. He simply had to drive whatsoever to do homework. Potions could wait. Right now he wanted to spend some quality time with Kristin DeLaserna. "Hey. Why don't we get out of this sun and go sit in a dark corner by ourselves?" whispered Garrett with a teasing tone of voice.
