The strange girl. That is all she was to this world was the strange girl. Those three words described Emmalynn Higgs like a book would describe its story inside. Emma was always found by herself, either reading or just looking out into the outdoors. She didn't really have a best friend, or a lot of friends for that matter. She didn't mind it though. She saw that often times when a person got close to someone they tended to run away. She had always been scared to get close to anyone. Especially with her past.
Emmalynn sat upon a bench in the entrance hall, reading a book she had picked up at the library. Her brown hair and brown eyes made her look like an awkward angel as the sun illuminated upon her from the window above. As Emma read, she began to sing a bit, her voice luring any person in. She had the voice of an angel, though she hardly ever let people hear her sing. School work and singing was about the only things Emma was good at. She wasn't into sports and her hand eye coordination was terrible. However, she feared to show people that her true passion wasn't knowledge, but singing. Singing made her feel like nothing she had ever felt before. It was an amazing feeling for her, one that for a moment would break her hard outer layer and show the true person within.
"Goodbye my lover, I guess this is the end. How did I know, that I would lose you as a friend. My heart is breaking, my dreams are shaking. Will I ever be the same again?" Emma sang as she read her book. Her voice carried throughout the entrance hall, illuminating it with pure bliss. It was like she was in a trance, unaware of anything around her.

Rose was walking along in the entrance hall, for no apparent reason. She had just escaped some hexes being cast at her from a few slytherins out on the grounds. She was looking for something to do, but had no idea, so she decided to wonder. As Rose was walking in her trance, something soft and sweet drifted to her ears. Something beautiful. It brought her out of her thoughts, and she looked around for the source of the beauty. She had never heard singing so beautiful in her life! But who was it? Rose began walking around the entrance hall at a faster pace, determined to find the source. The sound of the music made Rose want to sing along, if only she knew the words. Then, she stumbled across a girl, sitting and reading quietly. When she looked down, Rose knew that this was the person she had been seeking out. She dropped to her knee and attempted to look the girl in the eye. "You have a beautiful voice, if I may say so." She said politely, a smile on her face. Rose was hoping the girl would talk to her, being she looked like she was so intranced in her book, or her singing possibly.
