Being home alone had no advantages in Alyson's eyes. It was more like a prison, to be told to stay inside and keep the house safe while everyone else ran off to Diagon Alley, it was awful. But Alyson didn't complain at all and urged her family to leave and have a nice family trip without her. She would put on a smile and wave them goodbye, before slamming the front door shut and storming up to her room. She actually hated, despised being kept inside. She knew it was for her own safery, but screw safety. Nothing was really safe anymore. Even though Alyson was discharged from St. Mungo's, she wasn't one hundred per cent, and so stayed inside, which would usually, didn't bother her today, as the rain pelted down to the ground like meteors, splashing against any hard object it collided with. They almost looked like mini-water balloons. How she wished the summer would hurry. She stood at the stair window, watching the clouds darken before her. It was like watching the world transform from good to evil. The feeling irritated her, so she tore her eyes away from the window and proceeded into her bedroom.
She sat, with nothing to do but lie and stare up at her plain white ceiling. Alyson moved her eyes to look upside down out her window. The house next to hers was lit. But there didn't seem to be any movement, not until a shadow almost sprinted from the bottom floor to the top, it was like they'd apparated. Alyson sighed, feeling pity for the Malfoy family. There was a cursed cloud over their house. So, Alyson waited for a familiar face to return to their room, the only son. Scorpius. He seemed like Alyson's family. He was more than just a cousin to her. He was a brother that she'd always wanted. And she would always wonder why she deserved such a person. She knew how that lad could be. But she never saw it. He didn't seem to allow her. Alyson rolled onto her stomach on her bed and pretended to look busy. She didn't want to be caught staring into his bedroom. She actually managed to engross herself in tidying, but she wasn't getting very far by just lying there, she she stood up and kicked things aside, like her homework that hadn't been touched once, her rocking chair that was actually used as a place for her guitar, and her pillows, which instead she threw onto her bed. Jeez, she was a slob.
